Slight question, as this was brought up to me in response to one of the request for edits or development threads in Jerry Mar's submission for a disruptor carbine.
As far as any sources in canon I can find that list the range of a standard disruptor rifle in canon, the maximum range was 20 and the optimal range was 10 meters. Down below it states that the RPG variation of Star Wars changed it to 450 meters maximum with an optimal range of 45, though it is believed (in the description below this is stated) that it was done for RPG mechanics, and not so much for a change in canon.
I requested an edit be made to lower the range to 300 meters (Accidentally typed 100 prior, was edited and such) in atmosphere (they were requesting 1000 meters in atmosphere, 3000 in vacuum, and 300 underwater in their submission for a magnified disruptor rifle, which would increase the range of the gun). I offered the option to reach the 800 optimal, 1000 maximum, benchmark through a 15 post development thread that involved tweaking the lens through trial and error, but this was before finding the note at the bottom of the page that mentioned the RPG mechanic of the rifle, and I was requested to re-evaluate my decision, though she edited her response in request for the weapon to be archived so she could get back to it.
My question is this: Am I requesting too much of a change from her 1000 meter initial range? Is 1000 meters fair as-is, without any edits or a development thread?
Reasoning: A single shot from a disruptor rifle generally disintegrates the victim, so I was requesting the development thread based on the increase of range + the immediate lethality.
