Factory Report Centre

Also I'm going to say this is a little unfair. I won't lie and won't say its not because they're my submissions, but this is such a level of nitpicking it really offends me on a level of principle.

This has only become a problem with my submissions when Raziel judged them now. I have had all my other submissions since the reopening approved following the same layout without incident. Its not like I'm using the old template and leaving out sections of the new template. I really want to raise this as an issue because my other submissions haven't been denied on these grounds and its unfair to do so now. If the goal is to make the factory more accessible than why is this nitpick being enforced to cut down on my own contributions and anyone else's looking to have a more appealing looking submission to them? Like I said no one else complained yet, my submissions have been easy to read and simple to look over. This nitpick is so petty it has no grounds on a technical level. I'm not even changing the template, I just put a few sections in a different order. That is just too much.

All the information is there, its clean and understandable. I don't think its an offense worth denying a submission over, I don't even think its an offense at all. Nothing in this submission is missing or incorrect, its only in an order presented that makes more sense to me. And we've allowed variations before as far as I've seen and Raziel confessed the same. We'd be backtracking on that precedence and our own statements to make the factory more accessible, which includes allowing people to feel more comfortable with the template. As long as the information is there and nothing is missing I see no grounds to punish someone over this.

I even know how simple it would be to go and switch information around to match the template perfectly, but that is how unfair I think this whole debate is. Its pointless, and should never have been an issue. It has been precedence we've allowed leeway on some matters, and I see us going on and on about being more accessible, but something just out of order with no technical issues at all getting denied is unfair. Maybe I shouldn't be arguing this, again I know how easy it would be to conform the template's, but that's just how unfair this is again, its that pointless to have even been a problem. No one else had a problem approving my other submissions on this matter, no one else has enforced or corrected me on this matter because its not a problem. Its neither fair to deny these submissions now, nor is it fair to give me a warning about having done this before, because it isn't a problem.

Everyone is getting used to the template so yes it might have slipped through because of what we are used too. Even if you were not a factory judge you would have still been told to fix it. There is a template for a reason and that reason is to keep things uniformed and allow an easier time for the factory judges to judge the said creation. Because you are offended I apologize, but again you are a factory judge and you need to set an example of accepting and participating in the new template style.

If that was the only thing wrong with your submission then fix it and then it will move to pending secondary. No one is perfect and we missed several times that you've adjusted the template, I will be more aware and so will others when Judging now. I am disappointed that it was one of our own that decided to change the template which is why I'm being adimate that it gets corrected. I would still be on a member who has done it, but not so disappointed. If it's an accident understand just don't let it happen again, but if it's deliberate it should not happen again.

As always do not argue with factory judges and if anyone argues with you please bring it to my attention and the situation will be dealt with.

Fix your submission to fit be the current template. That's all that needs to be said about this.

My point is specifically that my submissions are in no way a problem to judge no one else has had an issue before. And its not even the issue of being hard to judge. My alterations were deliberate and regardless of my position as a judge I would have done them anyway, and they still would have been approved up until Raziel made his complaint, which again has nothing to do with the difficulty of judging but simply because of a nitpick. The fact that you say you missed they were altered shows how little the difference makes in the overall process, which makes me more upset that you're still requesting I make the alterations when you admit to the fact they are not problematic since no one even noticed, the submissions were that easy to keep in line.

This isn't being adamant in fixing a problem because there was no problem. This is majorly upsetting right now. Its readily being admitted my submissions are both meeting the criteria, and aren't causing problems before, but now that someone wants to have a problem just because of the order and for no other reason, I'm being forced to change my style and make the factory less accessible to myself. Again, its not even the work I have to do, its the principle. This is pathetic levels of nitpicking. I could go now, and change those submissions, but its not how I've done things, its not what makes me happy with my submissions, and its not an actual problem. So it upsets me on a level of right and wrong more than because I lose out much.

Being treated like I did something wrong bothers me, when this shouldn't be an issue. I don't understand one bit why I am being asked to make the changes and hearing people are disappointed in me when I haven't done anything wrong and my submissions have been spot on and I made changes when I messed up with the information. But the order? Enforcing this rule so stringently when everything else in the submission is right really bothers me. I can get behind having a problem if the template is ignored, if I don't actually use the new template, and/or it lacks information, or if there are problems with the information in the sections. But the order? The order? We're really going to have a fuss over member's personal preference for that?

So I'm not sure about this, and don't want to seem like I'm being harsh because the ACA and OP have a form of arms race.

The Republic "earned" this ship by doing > 300 posts on a mini-event:

http://starwarsrp.net/topic/18462-watts-class-heavy-cruiser/

Now Ayden has resubmitted a new version of it here:

http://starwarsrp.net/topic/41529-noble-class-star-defender/#entry606834

My issue is, the Republic earned this through 300 odd posts. It's also been made significantly tougher. And Ayden has only really done around 20 posts of development work for this.

So out of this the Omega Protectorate essentially get to cash in the Republic's hard work for a ridiculously powerful ship. Note the Dark-blade from the OS that took 200 posts.

Thoughts?

Hello. I would like to inform you of something i noticed. This ship is based on a ship called the Watts Class. The Watts class is an event prize ship from something i attempted to run. At the time i made it very clear that reverse engineering the ship was not possible, and shouldn't be possible. I told that to the leadership at the time, though since then there's been like 3 turnovers.

I thought i should inform you, though i have no bearing on the ship obviously ^_^

@Raziel @Spencer Jacobs

His new ship is much stronger than the Watts class. It has a hypervelocity cannon and two mini ones. The Watts never had weapons like that. And I don't think it lost many, if any, other guns in total numbers. The work put into it is vastly insubstantial for a boost to an existing vessel.

Also the link in your quote just takes me to the homepage sadly.

The Watts class was depressingly decommissioned after the Baktoid incident, but that doesn't just mean someone can suddenly pick it up and abuse the work like that.

Heck I think my goal of 100 posts for my Noblesse class will be pushing it when the time comes, but I'm working on post quality to make up for quantity to hopefully come to a 130-150 equivalent in effort.

Since [member="Raziel"] asked me to pipe in on the Watts/Noble issue, I have no problem with old ships getting cannibalized and re-used and re-designed. But Ayden's asking for, effectively, a minor-production Dark Blade with waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay less dev than the Dark Blade. I could see semi-unique.

I dunno, the problem is we don't track ship production/destruction very well on site here. So that basically means nothing. The only times we know is when a ship is truly unique/one of a kind.
