Fire and Blood [Iron Empire T3 Dominion of Miasma & Tera Lush]

As the battle continued to rage on in the city, there in small room, Talos and his two guards sat in darkness, allowing Talos the ability to focus on his battle meditation. Outside the sounds of combat could be heard as the Sephi Legionaries swept the Chiss from Haradesh. Reports would come in periodically about which sections of the city the Legion had taken as well as any captives they'd freed.

"We've got contact, grid 008-Aplha, requesting support..."

"Copy, incoming support from grid 010-Delta, whatch for friendlies. Over"

The Legion met the most resistance at the city center, where the local rebel leader had been tracked to. There, he'd set up the majority of his forces and Had barricaded himself inside the City building. The Legion moved in and surrounded the city hall and began to lay siege upon the surrounding areas. Wherever they could, the Sephi would steal fallen Chiss tech and turn it on their makers, like heavy weapons and any explosives they could find. Utilizing the Force to aid their engagement, their shots rang true on 90% of their attempts, making them superior than their Chiss opponents.

Objective: Bring the rain.
Post: I

A squadron of gunships descended upon the battlefield, swiftly flying through the skies before finding a clear landing zone. Several squads of troops disembarked from the gunships then ran off to engage enemy forces. Leading one of these squads was Siva Mortini. She had found herself a new home in the Iron Empire. A place where she could use her skills to her full potential. Siva was armed with the IE-W03A, a formidable weapon, especially in her hands.

"Remember the mission." Siva commanded. "We're here to secure the cave system to convert into a FOB. Few clicks to the east. Keep your weapon and eyes up. Move out." Siva lead several squads in the direction of the cave. Reports said that the cave system was immense and would make for an excellent stronghold on the planet. En route, Siva encountered little to no resistance from the enemy forces. "Perhaps the terrorists are dug into the cave system. Once we're there, it would be wise to stay sharp."

Objective: Discover more of this planet, Then maybe fight a few insurgents.

As I knelt down in the dirt, letting the brown and red grains grind into the black pants on my knees and shins, Thalia held a brick in her hand that was scorched with sides that had not been exposed. She smiled at herself that, with my help, figured out what may have happened. She then looked at me. And finally decided to ask the question of how it happened.

"Wait, so if there was a nova, then why was the planet not completely vaporized?"
"Depending on the size of the star, determines the range at which the "Goldie-locks" zone takes place. A brighter burning sun, yet smaller can still have the same effect as a cool giant star. This planet was likely on the edge of the Goldie-locks zone, and barely survived destruction. Planet was inhabitable for eons, or so. Over time, things change. Somethings happen, and we can never really be sure why. Hell. Maybe this side of the planet was the dark side and faced away from the star as it went nova."

Thalia kept trying to understand how we could discover this. Honestly, learning about this in science classes that I had taken, and learning from my own studies as I traveled the Galaxy was the only way I could teach myself to become better. The first time I was in school, or any kind of academy, was basic training with the Makrosia Military. It was there that I found a love for knowledge, and found that I could gain so many advantages over others by my knowledge of the galaxy. Hence my reasoning for drawing upon Force Empathy.

The power may seem almost inconsequential, but it gave me insight to how others were reacting. I could feel the various emotions around me. It kept my awareness levels around me through the roof. Or if I was trying to pay attention to someone, I could more easily detect what they might do by the emotions flooding their heart. It was later that I learned I could control these emotions. I learned how I could quite literally, consume and feed off of the strength that drove many, to empower myself. Even now, as I knelt here, I could feel the emotions of the men around me. Bored. Excited, or even fearful of what might be out here as we are alone. Thalia though was here with glee. She was excited too much to even feel fear. She was always so hopeful. It made me rethink things about life every so often. However, I pushed it aside for now.

"My Lord, We seem to have readings of near by life forms?"
"Are you questioning the devices, or are you asking me?"
"No, um... we have readings of life forms that could be near by."
"Now tell me, how many life forms are there?"
"Not sure. They are all close together. It could be a handful, or a couple dozen."
"Look harder. Big difference between those two estimates."

"Fifteen. Two are sensitive to the force. One much more experienced, and the other is weaker, but still powerful."

Thalia cut the conversation between us. She had her eyes closed as she stood there. I looked and was surprised to see that I had not been paying attention to her. Rocks particles of sand, bricks, and even her lightsaber and helmet were floating around the young woman. Even now, I could see the potential that the girl had. She may lack in brute force in lightsaber combat, but she was more than powerful in the force. Even I could feel the influence of her. The others around me as well.

On her words, they started to set up. Taking positions around the ruins to take cover, or find places to be hiding to have some form of hiding our defenses. It was a moment later, I could see personages walking towards us breaking through the haze of the vapor rising from the ground. Reaching over, I grabbed my sword as it leaned up against a wall. Grabbing it by the sheath just under the guard. Thalia herself came out of her little trance, and drew her lightsaber hilt. Leaving it off for now.

Both of us walked towards the group coming towards us, and stopped when our feet were just outside of the house that once stood here. Preparing for a fight to go down.

"Yoss" The commander shouted.
"Yes sir" Yoss would reply.
"I just got word, Isamu Baelor has given the word for all units to attack"
"I'm on it sir"

Yoss runs out of the tent and gathers all the soldiers that could stand and fight.

"Alright men lets win this for the empire" Yoss shouts.

The men begin cheering and Yoss leads the men into battle. Yoss and his band of misfits face the front of the terrorist forces. Before he knew it Yoss was alone all his men dead.
"Well here goes nothing" Yoss whispers to himself.

Yoss runs forward into the heat of battle swinging his lightsabers destroying the few soldiers that stood in front of him. Then out of nowhere a monstrous man jumps out and knocks Yoss to the ground. The man lifts up his blaster ready to slam it down onto Yoss' head. Yoss closes his eyes and puts his hand in front of him in an attempt to protect himself. He waits in that position for a couple of seconds until nothing happens. He opens his eyes and looks up to see no one there. He gets up, dusts off his clothes and looks around.
"What the hell just..."

Yoss would be cut short by the sound of a man screaming. He looks up to see the same man that nearly killed him falling from the sky. The man falls right next to Yoss, squishing into the ground, blood covered Yoss from head to toe.

"Shit now I need new clothes too"

Yoss picks up his lightsabers and charges right back into the battle. Yoss kills two men and then trips over something. He gets up and looks at what tripped him. It was his DC-17M being held by the dead corpse of the same soldier he gave it to.

"Thank you"

Yoss would say before picking up his rifle and slinging it over his shoulder. The Yoss charged right back into the battle. Firing off his rifle a couple of times before cutting men down with his lightsaber. He would continue to do this for what felt like forever.

Returned to the windowless room, Aster could hear the sound of frantic footsteps outside as she lay in the cold, hard bed while blood slowly seeped through her bandaged calf. Without any anaesthetic to dull the pain, the teenager bit her lip as she tried to suppress her tears. She couldn't cry. Not yet. She needed to stay strong.

"Uncle..." Aster whispered, her voice pained. Although she had no way of confirming it, she knew her uncle must have heeded her request from the state of disarray her captors seemed to be in. "Make them pay," she muttered before drifting into a state of unconsciousness.

Ethel Harper, a woman weathered by experience sat in the conference room of the Allan - a modest corvette named after her beloved grandson who had been slain during the One Sith's civil war in the line of duty - sipped away slowly, savouring each mouthful of the flavourful amber liquid. Though the elderly woman was not one for travelling, she had come at the behest of the Full Metal Emperor to discuss a business with a representative from PharmaTech.

"Irene," the High Warden spoke, her tone warm and gentle as if she was speaking to a grandchild. "Please send Charles to await the representative's arrival, and then join me for a cup of tea while we wait, dear," she smiled lovingly at her handmaid. Having lost much of her family at the hands of the Sith, she had come to see those who worked under her as her family of sorts, often referring to them by their first names rather than by their ranks or their surnames.

"Understood, High Warden," Irene replied with a small bow of her head. "Shall I have Lettie prepare some scones and biscuits so that they may be ready when our guest arrives?"

"That sounds like a lovely idea, please do, dear," Ethel smiled again and took another sip of her tea.

For Arceneau Trade and MaraTibx, the thought was to do something two-fold. They were to work in close collaboration with a deployment of PharmaTech researchers as well as geosurveyers of MaraTibx. The department now headed the majority of the contracts for terraforming and cleaning ravaged and toxic worlds. Originaly PharmaTech had taken point on the matter, but as it had drifted into botanicals and pharmaceuticals, Mara Tibx stepped up as the division to head it.

The flight to Miasma had been a long one, but word had it that the growing Iron Empire would be amlicable to perhaps discussing a potential project.

Truth be told, Noire had never been so far out into the Unknown Regions. She was more accustomed to the Expansion, Outer Rim, and the Colonies. She only had a fair bit of knowledge on the former Chiss Ascendancy and what she could gather from common knowledge on the Iron Empire.

Despite the holo news and any sensationalist claims, the Iron Empire seemed to focus within its own borders and the care of their people. Noire could respect that. If they were the sort to focus on the protection and the well-being of their people, then Noire would feel far more comfortable working alongside them.

The small luxury yacht gave a brief flash of light as it exited hyperspace. Within a few seconds, the proper transponder code and identification was sent through. It was a representative of Arceneau Trade Company. They would follow instructions to where they should land and meet with.

The Legion had taken the Chiss terrorists escape routes away and had begun to squeeze their prey in tighter to the capital building. Effectively choking their ability to retaliate and forcing them into crossfire zones where the Legion could cut down large section in a short time. The Archon's took it upon themselves to build small infiltration units to break the Chiss lines and enter the building. They'd work in tandem to uproot the internal security forces and break into the head office where the leader was hiding cowardly.

"Lord Talos, we've located the leader. Orders?" An Archon called through the Force.

_____________________________

Tapping into the mind of the Archon, Talos could see the office where the Chiss leader stood, guarded, behind his stolen desk. Talos rose from his position and placed a hand on both of his guards and stepped into the office with the Archons and their units. The fighting continued outside as the Legion continued to squeeze victory out of the Terrorists grasp. Talos walked forward, just across the desk from the confused and angered leader.

"We have you surrounded...There is no escape from Us...Surrender or die..." Talos gave him the only options he had.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

The battle on the surface continues to rage on.The enemy is being pushed back and we have almost won. The great war machines of the Iron Empire are destroying the terrorist forces and the surface of the planet on which they fought. Great craters were dug into the ground. Soldiers were being thrown around like ragdolls. Some bodies were covered in dust barely visible, others could bee seen easily. Yoss was lying in one of these craters waiting for the enemy to stop firing so he could advance. Around him buried into the crater were bodies of soldiers with limbs torn off and bodies chopped in half. Yoss hears an explosion and a body landed on top of him. He pushes it off of him and then stands up but as soon as he does the enemy begins firing upon his. He jumps back down into the crater.

The enemy stops firing and everyone begins to charge slaughtering the dwindling forces of the terrorists. The Iron Empire continues to advance with Yoss at the front of it. Yoss cuts down two enemies with his sabers. He then looks over at his shoulder it has started bleeding again and he is filled with immense pain. He drops to his knees holding his shoulder. A soldier runs up to him and helps him up continuing to fire upon the enemy.

"We gotta get you outa here sir" The soldier shouts over the sound of the battle.
"NO, let go of me" Yoss would shout back while pushing the soldier away.

Yoss pushed the soldier back and as soon as he does the soldier is shot in the head dropping to the floor. Yoss runs using his sabers to deflect the bolts. He runs down into another crater and pulls out his rifle. He begins firing upon the enemy killing a couple of them.

Commander Miles had began movement of his fleet precisely on cue, moving a number of smaller vessels forward. A swarm of fighters began making their assault on the CLF's smaller ships, riding the coattails of a missile volley. When they exploded, Zeradias nodded. Zeradias' method of command could almost be described as telepathic, with his officers trained and in sync with the vice admiral's command and operations theory moving on cue without verbal orders.

"Gryphon 1-1, Gryphon Actual. Proceed.", the comms officer translated to the flagship of Battlegroup Gryphon's expeditionary line. As the ships from Battlegroup Raven began to close in on the Chiss ships, the star destroyer and frigates from Battlegroup Gryphon advanced from the line and began their push, turbolasers ablaze. With the scattered friendly presence in the area, ROE dictated that concussion missiles not be used for the sake of locking onto an incorrect target. For now, the Iron Empire forces opted to use the much more precise turbolaser and ion cannon batteries.

"How many shield generators do we have?"

The man simply responded with a number, and Krayzen nodded. That was most certainly enough to be able to fill the objectives that the Major General had laid.

"I want four shield arrays to be placed in the barracks, and the hangar. " Krayzen ordered. "Have the molecular shield generators be connected to three other arrays, and I want them to project shielding that covers the entire projected area of the garrison.." he commanded.

"Yes sir."

Now the work would begin.

Benedict still hadn't heard anything back yet from his comrades. Whatever, time to be the man of the hour! He rushed off to the north where the Chiss stronghold was located. The plan was to rescue Aster single handed, and return here to the Iron Empire. But one question still remained, how would he even get in? A stronghold of this size would be near impenetrable. Benedict would have to sneak in disguised as a guard of a foot soldier. Through mere coincidence, a small Chiss patrol popped into view. "Scan the area, we don't want the Iron Empire to get past here. On the double let's go!" The Chiss spread out and searched the very forest Benedict was sheltered in. His breathing began to get faster and deeper. Having only just begun his mission, he couldn't be captured. "En Garde!" he yelled as he stepped out and engaged the five man squad. Blasters went off, missing like the Stormtroopers in every Star Wars flick. "Get that slimy thug!" One of the lunged at Benedict, bad mistake. The Rapier speared his body and he was cast to the ground. The others were quick work until he got to the squad leader, who was a coward. He began to run off in a futile attempt to get away. Benedict picked up a blaster and fired one shot, hitting him in the back. His screams were silenced with one more blast, and Benedict began the next process. Squatting over the man that got speared, he hastily took off his uniform and threw it on.

Now to get Aster. The Rodian rushed off to the compound. Branches and leaves swatted at his face as he traversed the landscape. Suddenly he had to stop, another squad passed by. He forgot he was 'in uniform.' Benedict walked out and tipped his hat to the lead officer covering his face and walked to the 'front door' of the compound. Wow, it was that easy? A large hand grabbed him and threw him to the ground. It was one of the Chiss guards! He was a beast of a Chiss, ripped and angry. "I don't think we have lizards in our ranks!" He roared and he was cuffed and dragged away. Really, I'm such an idiot for using the front door. I hope they at least put me with Aster. They did. Face smashing against the wall, Benedict was thrown into Aster's cell. "I think this slimy slug is yours! Caught trying to be one of us. Hope you enjoy the company while we decide what to do with him." The door closed and the guards left. "I'm sorry miss, I tried to save you but they got me."

Upon receiving the transponder code and identification, Commander Austen - one of dear old Mrs Harper's many underlings issued the instructions for the incoming ship to dock near their own. "Our guests have arrived, High Warden Harper," he announced over the comlink to the elderly woman.

"Thank you, dear," she smiled kindly.

"I hope Charles is in position to receive our visitors," she said, glancing at Irene who had been taking tea with her.

"Yes, High Warden," Irene replied and finished her cup. "I'm going to check up on Lettie and bring out the snacks once they are ready," the younger woman smiled at Ethel and left the room.

Meanwhile, outside the Allan, Charles stood upright almost as if he was a wooden toy soldier as he awaited the arrival of the High Warden's guests from the Arceneau Trade Company.

Aster's eyes fluttered open delicately, finally recovering consciousness as the door to her cell opened and an alien thrown in. A bit shocked by the unexpected company, she quickly sat up and stared at the creature. "Thank you for trying," she said, stuttering a little, and attempted a weak smile, her appearance dishevelled. This experience had taken a lot out of her mentally and physically.

A pained expression creased her face as she moved her injured leg a little, the bandage stained with dried blood. Carefully, Aster leant against the cold, cracked wall as a bout of dizziness overcame her. "I assume my uncle did not succumb to the terrorists' wishes," she spoke, her voice hoarse and barely a whisper and reached for a water bottle near her.

Cold water soothed her dry, rough throat as she drank from the bottle. "Are you thirsty?" she asked the alien as she reached for another bottle near her.

"Here," Aster smiled weakly again, offering her new companion the bottle, realising she did not know his name. "I'm Aster - but I suppose you already knew that. What should I call you?"

"You Imperial dogs don't know what you've done. Uprooting our operations here was a big mistake. Wait until Miasma HQ hears about this."

Talos laughed, the Echoes chimed in, creating a chorus of laughter from one man. He wiped a tear from his eye and flicked it aside. Talos walked over to the window, lookin gup into the sky where the Imperial ships lay in orbit. Where Talos and his men had come from. Looking down, he could see the remnants of the Chiss forces being eliminated by his Legionaries. The Legion had suffered minimal losses, the same could not be said for the terrorists.

"You should contact your HQ then Commander, put it on speaker so we all can hear?

The Chiss leader called Miasma HQ to report the invasion of Tera Lush.

The sound of the ship engines slowly vanished in the distance after dropping Theo on the edge of the rain forest. His objective was to find and meet with the resistance and help them as best he could in liberating the Lushiens held captive. This was easier said then done of course, the resistance don't exactly have a flag flying to herald their location but intelligence suggested they are held up within the forest. No names, no contact and probably suspecious of the Iron Empire for it's involvement in local politics, regardless of the fact that Lady Aster had been taken.

He is in no armour nor Jedi robes but his Valkyri brown leathers, which already had Theo feeling the effects of the humidity, but with the use of the force he is able to regulate his core body temperature and keep it cool to the blood. And so he entered the rain forest to find the group. If it was not for the urgency of the mission he would have liked to have taken in the place. The foliages like nothing he had seen before, thick rich greens shinny reminded him of Tabaqui yet the vines are so much different and small creatures that scurried away at his arrive unique to the place.

Several hours would pass before he found himself in the center of forest, or at least he believed. The readouts on his mobile scanner suggested as much, but still nothing, no sign of the resistance. This was hardly surprising as they would not wish to be found but he had to locate them and then he remember something his mother once said. Sometimes, the only way in, is to get caught. He never understood her then, thinking it reckless to simply allow yourself to be captured, but now? it might just work.

He waved his hand away. "No thanks, you need it more than I. You're who we need to save, I'm more of an expendable pawn." sigh "I strayed from the main forces to see if I could sneak in and rescue you myself. It was a great plan honestly. Dressing up as one of them, saying I'd been given clearance to move you to a new cell, then I'd run into the sunset with you and return you to Isamu. Now that I'm captured, I can't do that. The perimeter will also be more secure now that someone managed to infiltrate the base." Benedict began to cry. "I'm so sorry that this has happened to you. I should've stayed with the men, not gotten so brave. I'll probably be killed now because of my actions. Maybe I'll be used as a tool to interrogate you." Looking up at Aster this time, he continued. "But I'll tell you this, I won't tell them anything. Even if I die, don't tell them a damn thing about or anyone of us in the Empire." Benedict sat up and wiped his tears. What have I done!? I've put her life in danger!

Csilla
06:45 am

It was fairly early in the morning and the Csillian Labs were quiet. Only the silent hum of the generators filled the many long, winding hallways of the facility. The security team stationed there were sleeping on the job, as usual. Considering the labs had federal funding, nothing exciting really happened. It was a boring job but they were being paid so it did not matter to them.

The front doors hissed open revealing Dr. Sila Blaire, the head scientist of Csillian Labs. She walked into the main building and the door closed behind her. She took a sharp turn to her right and as she gracefully walked through the hall, the lights began turning on one by one as she passed by. The security team suddenly woke up as they heard the distant clicking of heels down the hall. They looked at their monitor to see the doctor walking through the building. They were lucky they got up before she made it to their post. A minute later, Sila approached the guard's station. "Prepare the facilities. We've a busy day ahead of us and I want everything prepared for it. Is that understood?" Sila ordered the guard. "Yes, doctor. Everything shall be ready in 5 minutes." the guard replied. "Very good. I will be in my office. I have business to take care of." Sila walked off to a far double door. She remove the glove from her right hand and placed her palm on the console next to the door. "Welcome, Doctor." the VI said as the doors slid open for her. She returned her glove to her hand and walked into the room. The door immediately shut behind her.

Sila walked over to her desk and looked at the sea of paperwork sitting there. It was a bit of a mess she had made for herself. She organized the papers as best she could before 7, which was when the meeting would begin. She opened up the holo-caller to speak with the Iron Empire's representative. Once her call was answered, she would speak.

"Hello. I am Dr. Sila Blaire of Csillian Labs. I have called this meeting in order to discuss terms with your people. I know you are currently fighting with the Chiss terrorists on Miasma and Terra Lush. Those savages do not represent the desires of the entire Chiss people, I hope you know. They're moody little rebels who fear change. I, however, welcome it. This is why I wished to speak with your Emperor directly. However, I am sure he is quite busy with the war you are fighting now so I suppose this will do. Are you willing to hear what I have to say?"

"It has been far too long."

Jonas was sitting in the back of a dropship that was making it's way to the ground on Miasma holding his lightsaber hilt in his hand, gazing down at it as he remembered his past. He has been through a lot in his years. He was once an apprentice to @Darth Vulcanas. His time in the Sith EMpire was long ago, but he won't ever forget it. The Dark Side still resides inside of him but he knows how to fight temptation. He does, however, remember his training and is not afraid to turn to the dark side when necessary. Today might be one of those days.

Jonas had recently joined the Iron Empire after exhausting his other options. But, he did not see it as a last resort. To him, it was more of a new beginning. He did not forsee himself wasting his time in joining the Iron Empire.

The dropship landed with a soft thud and the doors hissed open. Several soldiers and Jonas exited the dropship. Jonas watched as the dropship returned tot he skies before leading the troopers through a large ruin. Jonas was tasked with freeing several hostages from the clutches of the terrorists holding them against their will. If it was one thing that Jonas despised, it was the weak pretending to be strong. He was not going to stand for it.

Aster listened as the alien spoke and set the bottle of water beside him. "Please don't call yourself an expendable pawn. You risked life and limb in your attempt," she started, trying to console him. "There is nothing to be sorry for - you had good intentions and you tried your best. Sometimes that is all we can do," the platinum blonde haired teenager said, forcing a smile. It was easier to remain strong when in company.

Firmly, Aster moved to place her hands firmly on the alien's shoulders and stared him in the eyes. "They can try, but I won't allow it," her tone firm and her expression serious as she spoke. "You are a member of the Iron Empire and as princess, I am duty-bound to protect you. If they try to take you, I will do everything in my power to prevent it - after all, I am no good to the Chiss terrorists dead."

Though not related to her uncle, the Emperor, by blood, she wanted to show him that she was a true Baelor. She owed it to him - the stern, duty-bound man who had weathered many tragedies who had been kind enough to take her in.

The projection was weak, rife with visual-noise. “Hello? Is anyone there?” A voice asked.

Quickly, the signal cleared, revealing the face of a middle-aged man. One who sported a rather stylish, but absurd, goatee.

“Ah! Doctor Blaire!” He exclaimed. “I am Harald Brackwell, Warden of the Iron Empire.” The portly man offered the Doctor a respectful bow. “A pleasure.” He said, with a smile.

He appeared an odd-sort. Unlike any of the battled-hardened Iron Imperials. Jolly and fat, many would question if he had ever set foot upon the battlefield.

“In his absence, His Imperial Majesty has nominated myself, to speak on his behalf.” He announced.

He listened as the Doctor spoke, nodding along with her words. It took little time for the subject of the Liberation Front, to be brought forth. “Despicable they are. No better than animals.” He said. “The Emperor himself, and the Ascendancy, will bring justice to them.”

The conversation continued, ultimately arriving at a request. “Of course!” He exclaimed. “The Iron Empire will do all it can, to aid our Chiss brethren.”

Benedict stared into her blues eyes and spoke only briefly. "Perhaps it is your duty to protect me, but I can't let you save me. You're more important, granted your position in the Empire. Don't think that I'm putting myself down, I simply want to make it clear that my mission isn't done yet. I came here to save you, I intend to do that." He sat back down and pulled a mancala-like game out of his pocket. This was something he procured during his time in Mandalore. This board was exactly like our mancala, except the pieces were varying shades of red and blue. Benedict set the board up in the middle of them. "Care to play? You know, keep morale." Lowering his voice to a whisper, he continued. "Should we be set free, or we get attacked, there is a dagger on the underside of this board. Keep that in mind as we play." Benedict distributed the pieces around the board, the game was on.
