-NICKEL ONE SURFACE STATION-

Jesta was in the railcar for a good while before they finally reached the surface. The cart came to a stop and Jesta told the Republic Rep to stay put, he then opened the door and scanned the area. Not to many people seemed to be on the surface so Jesta nodded and brought up his arm. "Everyone report in. Whats you location?" Jesta asked, his team all replied the same way. Good they were all aboard the ship. "Alright bring the SS Covenant but stay out the firefight. Im taking the Rep to the extraction. Cassius out." Jesta went to the railcar and took the rep, escorting him down through the small crowd.

Patching himself through to all the jedi on Nickel One he spoke into his comm. "This is cassius speaking, what is the location of the Sith?" He whispered silently. Seeing if any of them would answer.

I am here to protect innocent lives from being overrun by the evil that the Empire represents, Spencer. You know so little, yet judge greatly. I may be Grandmaster of the Rogue Order, I may lead them in killing to stop Imperial forces, but my first choice is always to turn them, not kill them. I have never told you what to do, and I won't. If you choose to forsake your home with the Echani then that is your choice. I will not stop you. You have freedom, but you choose only to take it amongst those who take it from others.

The Echani forces moved past the base and opened fire on any nearby enemy vessels as they had been asked to do by the woman known as Iron Maiden. Echani had no trouble firing at well on enemy fleet forces. Truth be told, Spencer was completely and totally misjudging everything about her father. That was the nature of things when you existed within the confines of an order of people who made it their life's goal to subjugate and control everyone around them. He could not condone such actions. People deserved freedom. A life without freedom was no life worth living.

I am not selfish, Spencer. I am self-less. That is why I lay my life down to protect people. Understand and see that. I wish you had not left Eshan, but things were going wrong and innocent people were being hurt. On top of that, Hanna was attacked by a darksider. It was a fiasco, but Hanna cannot protect herself the way that you can and she represents an important position within the Republic. I was obligated by my heart and my mind to assist her.

Now I am obligated by both to assist the Republic, lest the Empire subjugate even more free worlds. If you try to stop me, I will fight you. I do not wish this, but I will do what is necessary. That is more than many Sith could ever say, as they sacrifice others in favor of themselves. I sacrifice myself in favor of others.

Looking fit and trim in a simple, black operations uniform, Natasi Fortan had just finished packing her duty satchel. It contained various implements of her trade: trackers, slicing kits, spare blaster cells for the pistol she wore at her hip, and a few other items that might come in handy. She slung the backpack over her shoulders and tightened the straps so that it was comfortable and wouldn't bounce around and make noise as she moved. Before leaving the ready room, she picked up her helmet and . She took a turbolift to the bridge and emerged, tucking her helmet under one arm, onto the bridge. She would be accompanying a Sith Knight on his mission to the facility; her mission was to scrub the systems there of any intelligence that might be useful to the Empire.

She approached, but stood a respectful distance back from the conversation, folding her arms behind her back and clutching her helmet with both hands. She was ready to move whenever it was time.

NICKEL ONE MUNITIONS FACILITY

Death. That would've been what greeted Darren Brunswick if the grenade had been anything but an... EMP grenade. But death would've been less painful. The EMP grenade exploded on contact with the ground, unleashing bolts of energy within its range. Brunswick, having been right above it, was electrocuted immiediately. The Kuati senator yelled in pain and passed out from the electrocution, still being held up above the ground by the Sith Lord.

Moments after the senator fainted, there were suddenly sounds of blaster fires. Running towards the facility and the Sith Lord were a fresh new batch of about five dozens or so of Verpines. Some looked injured, and could be identified as survivors of the group that acted as Brunswick's initial attack on the facility. They had brought their neighbors and friends with them. Some were armed with the latest-in-technology pistols, while others simply held pitchforks, so the weapons varied from each individual to another. They, however, in unison, charged towards the Sith Lord, the ones with blasters shooting at him.

SPACE- ABOVE G99

The relay flickered on as Falon stood by in wait for the news that the path had been cleared. "What's the situation?" he said with a hint of nervousness creeping into his voice as he leaned over the relay. This whole operation needed to work. If it went wrong his entire career would be torn apart. He'd have damned almost fifty-thousand men to death and burned millions of credits in a balls-up of an attack. "The asteroids are..." Falon held his breath in anticipation. He wanted this to be quick.

Turbolasers pulsed in the darkness, glowing blasts pummeling the asteroids. The 'Khan' Charon-Class Star Destroyer was armed with a vast array of guns, each of them slamming into the rocks as they slowly orbited G99, small explosions of light echoing throughout the conflict as the rocks splintered apart. Missiles flew forwards as the ship grew ever closer to the field. If they didn't clear a path in time, they'd go plunging into what was, for all intents and purposes, a minefield.

"...clear for now. We've got less than to get through. The asteroids are rotating in orbit of G99. If we don't get through in time, we'll be ripped to shreds by the rotation." Falon grinned at the news, despite the threat posed. "Charge. We've got no time to lose. If we stop now, we're not going to make it. Put power to the engines and divert it from the guns. I'll deploy the bombers to take out the frontal defenses. Then we'll begin the full assault."

Falon quickly stepped from the comms to stare out of the hangar's ray shields, the asteroids in sight as the ship shot forwards. Damn his leg hurt. He'd been walking about too much. His place was in the chair, not gallivanting about the ship. Nonetheless, he liked to do things personally. It didn't make much sense, but he felt good for doing it. It made him feel as if he was connecting more with the crew. He closed his eyes in fear as an asteroid grew far too close for comfort. Then it hit.

The whole ship creaked and moaned as a lone asteroid crashed into the prow of the ship in a cloud of durasteel and beams, smoke and flames briefly flaring up before disappearing due to the lack of oxygen. Falon was thrown back slightly, a few quiet yelps surfacing through the crash of the impact. Everything seemed to be alright, but Falon had no doubt that some systems would have suffered hits. Thankfully, he wasn't relying on the Khan for the main assault. At long last, they were through the field. Thank God.

Grasping the comms relay and pulling himself to it for a lack of energy, Falon let out a loud breath. "What's the damage?" He assumed it was nothing too critical. "Nothing important, but the overall integrity of the hull has weakened somewhat. We should be fine for a while, but any more damage is going to take a greater toll on our systems." Now Falon could launch the bombers and take out the defenses. "Thank you." Effectively dragging his leg across the floor for lack of energy, he shouted to the fighter squadrons to brief them for the attack.

"You're going to head a bombing run on the frontal bay in order to destroy the turrets and automated defenses. I need you to do this as quickly as possible, or else the Reps are going to blow us to hell. Once you're done there, dock with the Khan, and get onto the remaining dropships to join the main forces. After you're done with defenses I'll dispatch the primary infantry and artillery and we'll begin the assault on G99. Good? Good."

NICKEL ONE - RAIL CAR

"Change of plans, we need to diverge now." Tyrin announced to his subordinates, discarding both cloaks. They weren't doing much good now, considering they were alone in the rail car. The other assassins did the same, and for the first time the rail car was visibly occupied by the five stealthy Sith. Tyrin listened closely to the feed coming through on his comlink as he approached the command console for the car, altering their course for a certain surface platform.

"Our rep is clear. Mostly. There aren't any decoy shuttles, so he'll probably get destroyed. Nevertheless, we need to go after the Republic sympathizing fellow..."

The rail car lurched forward as Tyrin increased the throttle, aiming to expedite their journey to the surface station. Standing, the other assassins almost lost their balance. This was well above the recommended 'safe speed.' However, Tyrin was a Sith, and in his mad rush to do something remarkable, the word 'safe' did not leap to mind.

Ayden watched passively as the battle unfolded. The bridge of the ship occasionally shuddered from a weapon impact, but it wasn't a concern. The shields were holding, and he had every confidence that the ship could handle itself in a fight. As the enemy ship began to focus fire towards their front, so too did the Starfall push power towards the forward shields. The turbolaser batteries shifted their targets and fired towards the missiles that shot towards the ship. He didn't expect to get them all, and was ready for the expected impact. An alarm sounded from a bridge console and was quickly silenced. "Minor damage to the forward hull. Casualty reports coming in... None fatal."

Ayden nodded as he watched the enemy ship suddenly turn tail and run. He smirked. Clearly, they didn't want to play anymore. Not that he could blame them. And while he wanted to pursue, he opted to let them go for now. "Keep firing on their rear and let them run back to their masters. We have other details to handle." It was of course at that moment that Ayden noticed a blip appear on the map. An enemy ship was closing in, and they were charging through the asteroids no less. 'They're mad.' He thought to himself, wondering what sort of captain would order his ship straight through an asteroid field. Indeed, it seemed as though several Sith ships were fond of asteroids, a fact that made the Corellian chuckle.

Sensor data began to come in as the ship cleared the asteroids and they could get a better lock on it. It was a Charon-class. The Republic intel wasn't extensively, but reports indicated that it was primarily a carrier. Obviously they were going to move in for a second run and drop more fighters into the fray to try and break the Republic lines around the G99 asteroid. It was an interesting maneuver, but perhaps an ill-timed one. "All batteries, concentrate fire on that ship." Being broadside to the Charon, and for presently such a wide target, the combined factors spelled poorly for the ship's chances of survival, particularly with what looked to be hull damage from an asteroid collision. "Concentrate fire around that hull damage. Let's stick a finger in their wounds."

Arcs of electricity from the EMP grenade lanced across Mikhail's armor. He felt convulsions in his arms and dropped the Senator, his concentration broken. The man was extremely lucky that it was nothing more than an EMP. Idiot. Mikhail swore inside his helm, hearing his own words reverberate inside. Sweat beaded his forehead and he could feel his hair matted beneath the padding. Along his back ran an uncomfortable trickle of perspiration which itched violently in the skin-tight thermal suit which Mikhail wore beneath the armor. Blast, how he hated this hunk of metal.

He glanced from the Senator who lay unconscious on the ground, to the dozens of incoming verpine. Even Mikhail could not take on so many alone. Not without cover. He turned and sprinted for the blast door of the munitions facility, which opened just enough to allow him entrance before snapping shut with a sound of finality. From within the walls of the facility, Mikhail began to squash bugs. In twos and threes, he began to squash eyeballs and brains, blinding or killing the teeming mass outside bit by bit. From the windows above, the verpine loyalists continued to lay down suppressing fire.

Elsewhere, the Sith representative had boarded the shuttle at the anterior of Nickel One with what remained of his squad and now exited the asteroid, racing with haste toward Lord Velok's forces and safety.

@[member="Mikhail Shorn"]@[member="Kamon Vondiranach"]

Now beneath the mess at Nickel One, Iron Maiden was still watching her holo-table and the image of the battle above her with fixed professional glare. The map showed the Sith fleets converging on Nickel One. A large fleet amassed to the right flank of Nickel while the friendly ship she hailed [@Kamon Vondiranach] was moving ahead. They could get caught. But, Maiden didn't have the force to hold off any flank that the enemy could launch, she had to get to the Generator- but in turn that would leave Kamon to his own devices. Staring at the blue ghost like projections she pondered her move. One of the bridge staff then called out, "Commander, we are picking up a distress signal." Iron Maiden rose up and passed the table and came close to the soldier. "Who is it?" she barked demanding. "I don't know mam, it's being broadcast on a common frequency, I'm ascertaining its contents." he paused for a second, "It's the a Sith Delegation mam! It was at Nickel One is now sending signals for pick-up!!"

Iron Maiden flashed into activity and ran back to the holo-table, "Bring its position up on the holo-table now!" The image transformed into two icons, Maiden's ships and the shuttle carrying the Sith Representative and its distance from Sith pick up. Maiden, smiled thinking, Looks I don't have to frack about in space drifting towards the battle and finally join it. The Sith Representative held a important position in figure-heading the forces at Nickel. Iron Maiden now came across her first prime target. She rose up and waved her arm forward commanding the bridge. "Open proton torpedo hatches, all hands Level 1 Battlestations! Target is the Sith Representative's shuttle!" she paused for a moment took in a deep breathe and continued, "Lock on target! You may fire when ready!" The bridge staff went to business, the shuttle was locked on and the torpedoes exploded from their tubes and a round of proton torpedoes erupted towards the shuttle. The Iron Maiden spoke once more with a booming voice, "Keep ourselves away from their point defense systems, and when the torpedoes are at impact destination open fire with the heavy turbolasers. I WANT NOTHING LEFT OF THAT THING!"

Waiting for confirmation of her kill, she spoke softly to a communications officer nearby, "Jamm the whole area, no one gets to listen in or know where we are! Scatter our signal and have the engines blast full speed ahead....and keep low!"

Lightning coursed through the Senator, and while his body was in pain, his cybernetic enhancements helped him remain conscious. Pickhim self up off the ground to see Senator Brunswick toss a grenade between the two, Ardak was impressed. He'd never expect a politician to endanger his own life. Then the grenade exploded, and it was revealed to be an EMP grenade, and all of Ardaks hopes sank. Soon Verpine came to reinforce the man, and the Sith ran into the munitions facility, and Ardak walked over to the Senator.

"I should never expected one of your kind to do what is necessary. What did you think an EMP grenade was going to do to a set of armor like his? It must have been ultrachrome or phrik the way it held up." He said in a disgusted tone. He hated his job somedays. Turning to one of the nearby Verpine he asked for a radio, and for his signal to be transmitted by a nearby signal enhancing station to the Republic Forces, as well as Omega Pyre if they had arrived yet.

"The Sith representative has left Nickel One and is exiting towards the Sith inhabited asteroid. The Republic Rep is on root to leave as well. Any ships heading to the base asteroid are requested to intercept and destroy the Sith Representative's vessel. Republic and Omega Pyre ships are requested to provide cover fire, as the Sith Fleet will surely have some sort of trap waiting for them."

They were playing the waiting game for now for the Sith but that didn't mean they were still not being attacked by walkers, mouse droids, and the like. If she honestly never saw another droid again she would be oh so very happy. The Omni evasion was still fresh on everyone's mind she was sure and now there was this. It was always something. Sighing she wandered through the mines looking for the others whom were supposed to be here with her. Sure she could contact them but as of right now she was enjoying the peace inside the mine as soon she was sure that she would be bumping into something unpleasant.

Kalia's light saber hung from her hilt for the time being but it could be in her hands in a second if she needed it. She had always been good at waiting for the right moment to strike. You had to have patients more would come trying to take this place. She could hear the battle from where she and the noise was getting louder which meant she was close.

Brunswick almost died for the second time that day. The fresh batch of militants coming in to attack the facility almost ran over the Senator of Kuat. Thankfully, one of the Verpines at the front recognized him, and stopped the advancing group. Two of the Verpines came forward and after hooking Brunswick's arms around their necks, they turned around made their way away from the facility to wait unitl Brunswick recovered from his electrocution.

Meanwhile, the Verpines started advancing on the munition facility. Once they realized that their pitchforks and pistol blasters weren't having much effect on the doorway into the facility, they somehow managed to get themselves a few rocket launchers. While they were setting them up to blast down the doorway of the facility, their numbers were starting to decrease in earnest as enemy Verpines above fired at them from the facility. After a minute of setting things up, three rockets were launched from the rocket launchers and towards the facility entrance.

As the fighter jumped out of hyperspace, Mak looked down below at the asteroid, seeing the fighting. This would be his first battle in centuries, and he was itching for a fight. As one of the High Council members now, he had the duty to protect the Jedi and the Republic from the threat that the Sith would give.

As he landed and the ship was sent into autopilot to go away, Mak began to slither fast, taking out two lightsabers, ready for a duel. He knew who he was after, because the last time they had battled, it had ended in a stalemate between the two on Coruscant.

He was coming for @Darth Apparatus...

Apparently having grenades explode not far above one's head and then getting the ceiling rained down upon was not that dangerous. The Sith unleashed his powers and brought the entire roof raining down upon them. Siobhan had been further away and moreover her location had not just been shaken by multiple explosions.

Reacting quickly she thrust out the palms of her hands upward at the incoming volleys of stones and bricks, stabilising them so that they remained frozen in the air above her head, while beads of sweat dripped down her forehead and temples, before thrusting her hands forward and hurling the assortment of bricks out of range and letting them tumble to the ground. She breathed in, but there was no sign of the Sith, though she could already hear the sounds of battle coming from further away, from the location of the munitions facility.

Quickly she turned on her heels and ran, realising that the representative must have taken away by Republic soldiers, as much as she would have liked to follow the Sith and take the fight to them. The wall had been pretty much torn apart by Mikhail's onslaught and her grenades, as she ran and looked upward she noticed a shaft that might offer her a shortcut up. Stretching out with the Force she took a breath and then leapt upward, catching the edge of the shaft and pulling herself up on it and landing on the rails.

She activated her comm as she ran, following the rails. "Jesta, this is Kerrigan, Omega. Heading to extraction point. What is the Representative's status?" she spoke quickly as she bolted, lightsabre flying into her hand and springing to life with a sizzling sound should any ambush hit her, with the heavy bolter slung over her back.

VERPINE SITH REPRESENTATIVE - EN ROUTE TO THE GENERATOR
@[member="Iron Maiden"]

When in a space battle it is important to note the difference between weapons types used. Certain weapons are used for certain things. Turbolasers are used for heavy capital ships, while laser cannons are used for starfighters and the like. The reasoning behind this is the accuracy and rate of fire for laser cannons is much higher than their much larger cousins. In addition to plasma weapons, missiles are also used in space battle. It is important to note their distinction as well. Concussion missiles are used for shooting down fighters and smaller, more nimble craft since they are much faster missile. Proton torpedoes, on the other hand, are used for one purpose: structure damage. Theya re an all purpose wrecking ball for capital ships and ground targets. However, there is one extreme difference between them and their missile cousins. Proton torpedoes are very slow.

The getaway shuttle began to dodge and weave around the heavy turbolaser fire, which - though unsuited for attacking small craft - certainly scared the Force out of the shuttle's occupants. Several times turbolaser fire came all too close to smashing the shuttle, but the fire was slow and even against something bigger like a corellian blockade runner it proved inaccurate. The proton torpedoes were of more concern. The verpine pilots clicked and clacked, buzzing with their buglike noises. The shuttle deployed chaff and flares and the clunky proton torpedoes skewed off in multiple directions, chasing ghosts. The shuttle swiftly broke the range of the turbolasers, outpacing the star defenders by a good bit and heading at an alarming pace for the generator asteroid, while attempting to broadcast distress signals.

Mikhail muttered a curse as one of the verpine loyalists reported the presence of rocket launchers. By this time, Mikhail had moved up a story to get a better view of the mess below. He could now clearly see the three rocket launchers aiming toward the blast door. One of them fired before Mikhail could do anything. It hit the blast door with an explosion, tearing a small gap in the metal wide enough for a humanoid to crawl through one by one and making the entire building tremble to its foundation. Blastdoors had their names for a reason. They were meant to be blast proof. It would take a bit more to get through the door than just one rocket. However, that was not Mikhail's immediate concern. He raised a hand and stopped the other two rockets in their tracks, then turned them around, pointing them at the resistance verpine.

A Force-enhanced voice boomed from the munitions facility, echoing down to those below. "Senator, you piss me off. I want you dead."

Shorn hurled the rockets back toward the verpine below.

The 'Republican' Verpines militants cheered as their first rocket managed to tear a small gap on the blastdoor entrance. Their cheers turned into confused yells and clicking as they realized that their two other rockets never hit the designated target. Instead, they seemed to have stopped in mid-air. "Senator, you piss me off. I want you dead." said a loud voice from the facility. The next second, the two rockets came straight back to the militant Verpines. Many did not even have the chance to try and run. Some simply were vaporized on the spot, leaving behind a yellow streak of their blood. A dozen or so Verpines ran away from the facility in fear. Twice that amount were dead, and the majority had suffered an injury of some sort. About thirty of them remaining, the Verpines let out a battle cry as they charged towards the small gap in the blastdoor. One by one, they entered the facility shooting at anything alive infront of them.

SPACE-ABOVE G99

@[member="Ayden Cater"]

The pilots clambered into their fighters and shoot into space, heading towards G99 fully loaded with bombs and armed with primed blaster cannons. Then the Starfall started firing. The whole ship was rocked, screams echoing. "Launch the dropships. We're making a change of-" Falon was swiftly thrown to floor as the front of the ship began to split in two, the entire ship in threat of being torn in half. "We're making a change of plan." He groaned, scrambling to his feet in an awkward maneuver not helped by his lame leg. "Launch the damn dropships!" He yelled, his voice hoarse over the prospect of the ship being ripped apart.

Whacking the turbolift controls, he pounded the doors frantically as he waited to reach the bridge. Falon practically fell through the doors as he dived for the captain's chair. "Get all power to the shields. All of it." His first priority was to get every single one of his troops out of the hangar and on the asteroid. The Khan was dead already. He just needed to use its resources while it still held together.

"Use the tractor beams to move some of the asteroids into the path of fire. That'll give us some much needed time." Falon was scrambling for strategies. As soon as the dropships had been launched, he'd be satisfied. The ships would be able to use the cover of the Khan to get to the ground safely; there was no worry there. The threat came from whether or not they actually would launch. They were still being prepped as the Starfall had began attacking, and now they had to launch ahead of schedule.

"Deploy those prefab bases. It's a long shot, but they should absorb some more fire that would otherwise be used to blow us to hell." The General had insisted that the prefab bases remain at the dock, but his superiors had clearly decided to load them in the cargo-bay anyway. He wasn't exactly arguing with their decision. They might have just saved around ten-thousand soldier's lives. Turning to the officers operating the main controls, he knew that the Khan had met its end, not a single doubt in his mind.

"Ready the escape pods and have all non-vital personnel board them. Tell them to cram themselves into as few escape pods as possible. We've got ten-thousand good men to save, and frankly we don't have enough pods to save 'em all." The last fact was what made Falon the saddest of all. Men would die. Nothing he could do would stop that.

Gritting his teeth, he made the final checks to ensure that most of the dropships were clear and en-route to G99, if not already on the planet, and that the non-vital crew were gone. This was going to be difficult. Activating comms, he spoke once more. "Attention all crew. I am ordering you to abandon ship. There are approximately fifteen-thousand personnel onboard. We have enough shuttles and escape pods remaining to get most of you out of here."

The bridge crew stared back in disbelief before running from their stations, leaving Falon to man the ship alone. Dropping into one of the crew-pits, he used what minimal knowledge he had of the ship to lower the power allocated to the shields to fifty-percent. He was going to need the other fifty to keep the engines running at enough speed to allow for his next maneuver.

Turning to the navigation consoles, he winced as he glanced a console displaying the life forms aboard the ship drop rapidly, the ship still shaking under the blaster fire. Through the viewports he could see what looked like a third of the ship split open like a pair of scissors. Nonetheless, he persisted, setting a timed autopilot course that coincidentally happened to lead him directly into the Starfall. He didn't engage it yet though. Climbing from the pits, the ship let out a great screech as the first third of the ship detached from the ship in a cloud of rubble. Taking no notice, he primed all the weapons and torpedos to blow. The last step in his plan was to send the ship forwards.

The Khan had its forward shields at full power, the rear shields completely disengaged to give him enough remaining power to fuel the engines that would cause the mammoth carrier to go shooting into the Starfall on an autopilot course that would hopefully give him enough time to escape in one of the remaining escape pods. In short:

He was flying right at them.
