From paper to steel

She nodded as she summoned her saber, which was still on the ground, back to her hand and onto her belt. "Though you might want to lose the armor." she said. Seeing the looks in Gherron's eyes at what she thought she meant Nala giggled and said "I mean for the walk. You don't want to draw attention wearing that all over the place do you? It's just asking for trouble."

Nala did as he asked and waited outside the temple. She greeted and nodded to some of the other Jedi and Padawans who passed her while sitting up at the base of one of the statues that decorated the temple's entrance. For most it would seem difficult to climb but for Nala it was a breeze. She simply sat and waited with her legs hanging from the side of where she sat for Gherron.

Gherron quickly ran to his room, dodging a few other Jedi and almost hitting them. They gave him some weird faces, but he didn't really care. Throwing the armor on the bed, he changed into a casual shirt and jeans, then freshened himself up a bit. Finally making his way to the temple entrance five minutes later, he looked around until he saw Nala at the statue. "You ready?"

Leaping down from her seat she landed next to Gherron and said "Always." when they started walking she asked "So what's planned for today? A nice lunch? A trip to some romantic spot? Maybe a good sparring?"

Taking Nala's hand, he smiled at her. "I was actually thinking of a nice romantic candlelit picnic dinner." He smirked at the thought of it. "I already have you food ordered, we just have to pick it up and head to the park."

She giggled and said "You know how corny that is?" she laughed a little more and said "That's why it sounds perfect." Nala followed him to where they needed to go to pick up the food, checking to see that most of the stuff she enjoyed, before walking with him to the park. Since it was his idea she wanted him to chose where exactly they'd sit.

"I know, that's why I thought it'd be the best date yet, even if it's only our second one." Looking around, Gherron found a nice little private spot under a tree. Stretching out the blanket and pulling out a few candles and lighting them, he motioned for her to sit down while he got everything else out.

Nala did so, taking off her hooded robe first before laying herself out on the blanket with her arms behind her head. She took in the nice quite moment before reaching into the bag and grabbing a handful of snacks while eating them one-by-one.

Gherron laughed as Nala began eating the snacks, and gently put his hand over hers, stopping her. "Dinner first." He pulled out two sandwiches and an insulated jug full of water. Handing her a sandwich, he poured each of them a cup of water. "Sorry it's not much, you can't really carry very elaborate foods in a picnic basket."

She dropped the snacks and said "You're such a tease." before taking the sandwich. The way she ate Nala almost seemed as if she hadn't eaten in a while. Really that was just her very enthusiastic habbit of wanting to finish a meal for the rest of it. She took a few sips in-between munching before finally finishing. Looking to him while wiping her moth she asked "Next?"

Gherron was amazed at how quickly she had finished her sandwich, he was still only half way through his. "Um... Now, you can have the snacks I guess." He gave a light chuckle and finished off his own food, before digging into a twinkie.

"Thank you." she said in a matter-of-fact tone before taking the same snacks from before and eating them. She'd never really dealt with eating certain things during certain point in a meal. To her food was food and when you wanted to eat it you did, no matter the order it was set in. The only exception came with desert as her father would always tell her.

"Yep." Gherron raised an eyebrow slightly before shrugging. Finishing his twinkie rather quickly, he looked over at her and smiled a bit. "So..." He had no idea what to say. He hadn't ever exactly been to good with girls, and this was why. He scratched his head, trying desperately to think of something, but to no avail.

Hearing him say "so" made her look over confused. "Yes?" She asked. Being she'd never done anything like this before she really had no idea what his problem was. If anything Nala was actually starting to think something might be wrong given the way he was looking and acting. In her mind she was a bit nervous because she thought he wasn't liking her anymore.

Gherron had to be honest with himself. He did like the old bumbling, clumsy Nala more than the current more assertive one. It was really her innocence that had drawn him in. Sure he still liked her, it was just taking some getting used to her new demeanor and attitude. Sighing softly to himself, he shrugged again. "I'm not sure."

Hearing his response, Nala lowered her head a little looking worried. "You don't like me anymore, do you?" she asked, needing to know if her suspicions were true. She would understand if that were the case, she would be a bit disappointed though given that Gherron said he didn't mind the change she made.

Gherron's eyes flew open then. "No! I mean, I do still like you. It's just... Look, I know I said I didn't mind the change. I still don't. It's just hard adapting to it, that's all. That, and i've never even got this far with a girl."

She took a deep breath when he gave his answer, making Nala say "Thank you." to herself. Hearing the rest of his explanation, Nala retorted with "Well if it's any consolation I've never gotten this far with a boy before. In fact....never even dated a boy before. So I guess that makes me sort of the 'padawan' on this." She giggled a bit.
