From The Ashes, A Phoenix Will Rise (Tef's Farewell)

Delila was trying to keep an neutral, passive look on her features. No one wanted to be the person that looked bored at a funeral, it was supposed to be a time of reflection and solemn attitudes. Not looking as if she had somewhere much better to be, which she probably did knowing all the paperwork that was piling up on her desk back on base.

One of the Officers came over and asked to sit. Delila motioned for the man to take a seat. Probably saw the uniform and wanted to talk about joining. Police and security forces were often a great way to start or end a military career. At least this one was fairly easy on the eyes.Something about a man in uniform....

"Take a seat Officer Walkins" She waited for the Officer to sit before asking what was on her mind."What can I help you with?"

Cody smiled as he took a seat next to the woman and pointed to her uniform "I was just wondering, what battalion are you in? he asked innocently. It was about that time he felt a pebble or small piece of paper hi the back of his head. He turned around agitatedly and saw that the whole group of officers had began thrusting their hips back and forth while pretending to innocently look into the distance, like they weren't making any inappropriate gestures to their friend. Assholes Cody thought as he turned back to the woman, trying to play his friends off as nothing.

How many of his friends were dead now? Tef was the last of his old friends from long ago. Growing up, Tef had been an inspiration to Ben, goofy but capable. When Ben had set out to regroup the Jedi, Tef had been the first person he had gathered, and together they worked to rebuild what once was. Now look at it, thriving, doing even better than they had both dreamed it ever would. They had once wondered if they would ever get everyone back together, if the Jedi would rise again, and now there Ben stood looking out at all the Jedi whom he did not even recognize. Things had changed, and for the better, but everything seemed a bit more grim now that Tef was gone.

People came and went, but the galaxy kept going, showing no signs of stopping. Growing up, Ben was convinced the world revolved around him, and that when he died the Galaxy would just cease to exist because he was no longer part of it. Of course, that changed, he knew better than that now. Death was natural, it was part of life, but it did not ease the pain knowing that. Ben hated death, it seemed to chase him with ruthless aggression, and there was nothing he could do to stop it. It seemed the harder he tried the worse things became. Now, Tef was gone, and he had no one to talk to anymore. No one to make Ben smile even when the situation was at it worse, no one to go to with problems, no one to know the real Ben outside of his serious demeanor.

He kept reaching out through the force, trying to find his fallen partners aura, but it was long gone. Extinguished but not forgotten.

"73rd. Let me guess...you either used to serve in the Republic Army or know someone who does"

Those were the only two explanations in her head. Speeches were still being made so of course she was keeping her voice down. Good thing they were almost at the very back of the large room. There was enough ambient noise to counteract their voices but she still spoke at a lower tone. Imagine being one of those people who others turned to look at during the service?

Watching the Officer turn and look, Delila twisted her head with his, spotting his....friends?Fellow Officers? She looked at Officer Walkins and arced an eyebrow.

"Friends of yours or stalkers?"

Cody shrugged "I never served myself, my father was apart of the 1st Artillery Wing. By the time I was born he was out, apparently a computer error marked him as KIA after some live ammunition exercises. They told him that he'd have to go through basic again so he left and joined to the police force on Coruscant." It was quite the story and there were even more that his father had told him a while ago.

After the little incident with his fellow officers Delila gave him a suspicious look "Friends of yours or stalkers?"

Cody sighed as he turned away from the other officers "Yeah, those are my fellow crime fighters." Cody replied, his tone mocking towards his friends "Most of the are good people, except that little chubby one right there you should watch out for him."

Sorry for the delay guys. Had a lazy day yesterday.

OOC:
Then:

After a moment, the glow coming from A'dele's hands faded. While quiet, she still was very much aware of the quiet conversation between Inigo and Knight Ravos. She did not miss the comment made about the Old Code. Few ever could understand her reasoning for being traditional; but everyone had their reasons.

She had hers.

"It would do you best to rest, Knight Ravos." she informed with a polite reminder. Aquamarine eyes then took to Inigo, and her head gave a small incline in gratitude for his aid.

"You are most talented Inigo, I am grateful for your aid." Quietly, she began to clean up around the area.

Now

She stood, listening to Knight Ravos eulogy. Whatever thoughts peculated for the young Zabrak female were kept hidden away behind her placid mask of cordial stoicism. Hands lightly came to clasp in front of her, blinking passively.

Others would have more to say, that was certain. The late Grand Master Teferi had been greatly beloved.

Jorn Mair

Jorn had seen the Jedi talk about Tef as if he were a savior. and in a sense he was. He had saved countless lives thought his time in the galaxy. he just thought that maybe MAYBE he could do that same. Jorn didnt want to fight just to fight He wanted to fight for a reason. And he had in mind one Doctor that he had Fallen for. He rubbed his wrists thinking about How he would or could protect people. He wanted to protect people not out of fame, but of random acts that would help not just a few people but all people and he knew just who he needed to talk to.

He wouldnt however talk to the Man that was only a few steps away because it was wrong to ask such a ting at a funeral. let alone the funeral of a former GrandMaster.

Nohemi Allaneh

Order of the White Current
Soft vinesilk slippers led the young Fallanssi Ambassador into the great chamber. The Tasha silk fabric of her white Ambassador robes would lightly brush against the tops of her slippers with every step she took, her handmaiden at her right.

She wore a soft cowl over her head, her face free of any artifice. It was unlikely that anyone would notice her presence, and that was fine with her. She was used to weaving illusions and moving through a crowd without being noticed; although this time, she did so without the intent to hide.

In humble respect, towards the center where the beloved late Grandmaster's now lifeless body lay, Nohemi gave an incline of her head.

Rosa Gunn

Guest
Rosa slipped her arm through Hanna's and gave it a squeeze, flashing her a small smile to say hello. The youngling on her otherside had calmed down and was absorbed in Darrons' speech. She continued her supporting emotions nonetheless, though as she did she became aware of something different in her friend beside her. She wrapped her sense around Hanna searching for what was different a smile forming on her lips as she sensed the life inside her. Waiting till Darron had finished and descended the podium she leant towards her Hanna and whispered.
"An engagement, and a child and I don't even get a message." She teased with a wink, though her eyes never left Darron. That was beautiful, you did him justice. She watched as Jaxton rose to the podium, his emotions raw and available for everyone to see and it took every ounce of her willpower not to go and hug him. She hated seeing people so upset, so broken. If there was one thing she could wish for in life, it would be to take everyone's pain from them. Unable to hug him, she sent him as much support and care as she could in the force.

Then:

"Thanks guys. I feel back up to strength already." Jaxton said then stood up. "Maybe not quite there." He said his back still gave him a little trouble, but not nearly as it had before. Jaxton thought the process the two had given him amazing, healing through the Force? Helping people by concentrating and applying a little Force? What a wonderful gift that would be. But Jaxton was built for combat, not healing. In a way he envied them, living their more peaceful lives. Then again, Jaxton wasn't sure he could stand all the pressure of knowing a life was in your hands every other day, or even every other hour.

"You know, in a way I feel jealous of you two. You can use the Force to make people feel and do better, when all I can do is swing a sword and make people fight harder." Jaxton said, referencing his area's of expertise as a Jedi.

Now:

As Jaxton took his seat, he felt emotions come into him, and not through his usual Zeltron telepathy. Someone was using the Force to send him feelings of comfort, care. He looked around and saw the face of Rosa, next to the Vice-Chancellor and the Chancellor herself. So compassionate, Jaxton had met Rosa previously but they were more acquaintances then friends. And this woman was to be the . . . girlfriend? of the new Jedi Grandmaster? At least he had found a compassionate one. As a Zeltron Jaxton couldn't fault someone for pursuing his emotions and his love, though it made him uncomfortable he was with dating a woman who not so long ago was his padawan. Many Jedi thought such emotions were dangerous, but to Jaxton love was fuel, a reason to fight, a person to protect. Jaxton sent the woman a message of reassurance. No words, or images, just a sense of I'll be okay. Honestly Jaxton didn't know if he was gonna be okay, but he didn't want Rosa to worry about him. There were far more important things for her to attend to, so he didn't want to distract her.

"You do me too much honor Jedi A'dele, I only do what I can. You seem more versed in the healing than I. Let me clean up over here and you and Jedi Ravos go ahead, I am sure they would need to hear what he has seen firsthand to get a better grip on the situation. Let me handle this mess please."

The pausing to reply to Ravos comment, "I believe we each have role to play. Personally I never draw my sword unless there is no other choice and lives are in danger. I haveeven taken to studying with the Echani to learn non-lethal disarming tactics, since I believe all life is sacred and try to preserve it as best as I can."

Hanna whispered, " You Jedi and your tricks.. but you are the first to know other than the Chancellor... and Kamon, if you insist and I couldn't reach you.. the Temple kept telling me you were busy. but yes, but keep it down, I haven't let the world know yet... " She smiled and watched the ceremony it was beautiful. She was glad to be with her friend, she really needed to see Rosa more, but she spent so much time with kamon she thought. It was funny that way.

THEN:

A tiny hint of pink rose to the Iridonian's cheeks at Ingo's compliment, the only clue to a brief sliver of her emotional state. She gave him an incline of her head in gratitude, "As you wish," she said, leaving Ingo to his task as he answered Jaxton's question.

Turning to the Zeltron - who's half nakedness apparently didn't appear to spark a measure of interest from the Zabrak - she offered her arm, as if to help him walk, "It is best we take you to your chambers to rest."

Delila listened to his story, nodding. Sounds like the typical military regulations. Her mouth twitched in a sort of smile, thinking if she died it better be for good because there was no way was she starting all over again. Turning back to focus on the funeral, Delila let her eyes wander over the crowd, checking for threats. Nothing too out of the ordinary. It seemed to be wrapping up, she should call it a day. The Captain had made her appearance...
"Typical. Army is always doing something like that."

She raised an eyebrow at his tone about his fellow officers but decided to say nothing about it.

"I will keep that in mind.If you excuse me Officer Walkins, I should take my leave now. No offense, your company has been enjoyable."

Nodding, the Captain slowly got up and quietly made her way to the exits.

Cody nodded as the captain got up to leave "Yes and so was yours." Cody said with a smile. He would have asked for her information but he had a feeling this wouldn't be the last time they met. Plus he wanted to get out of here and back to Coruscant, he was sick of the whole funeral scene.

A few hours later...

Darron couldn't help but be moved by the outpouring of emotions, and all of the speeches he had heard were quite endearing. They where either first hand accounts of Teferi's deeds, or from the families of those he had helped. To be fair, he did live for five hundred years, and everyone of those years was spent helping the Order he loved. There had been many sobs and tears, yet the tone was sticking to hope. What had started as a funeral had turned into a celebration of the man's life, but everyone knew one reality. That no matter how important you were, no matter all the good deeds you did. One fact of the universe was becoming very clear, that despite all of Teferi Efreet's contributions to the galaxy...

The sun would rise tomorrow.

Everyone would wake up tomorrow, and have a job to do or get back to. The Jedi, the Senate, and all of the Republic would get back to work. Many things had already been set into motion, that would commence after this one day. The original GrandMaster would never be forgotten, especially by the one succeeding him. Yet Darron knew that their enemies wouldn't give them much more respite, there would be much to do. His comm unit was already buzzing silently in his pocket, most likely intelligence briefs for him to check before he went to bed on this night. I couldn't just have one day of solitude, it seems you have to give your all to get some rest. Blue eyes solemnly looked over at the little lifeless form on the pyre before him. The last speaker had gone, and the new GrandMaster knew that the ceremony had just about reached it's end.

Rising to his feet, Darron approached the podium, this time with a durasteel rod that would produce a fire once activated.

"Thank you all for showing such respect to the man who affected our lives in such a profound way, and who gave his all to see us have another day. With that being said, it's time to send Master Efreet's body off with the gracious respect he has earned."

No other words where needed as he walked down the stairs, and headed towards the massive pyre before him. With a quick flick of a switch, a fire was produced, almost roaring to life. His steps slowed just a little as he drew nearer, a hint of finality hitting him. The GrandMaster simply exhaled his pain and allowed the Force to heal the inner wounds. Yes, he would miss Teferi, but his time in this galaxy was up. To try and hold on to him after he was gone was an extension of greed, and that wasn't a path he, nor any Jedi needed to walk upon. In the back of his mind, Darron made sure to file the need to have counselors on hand for those who showed signs of not letting go. No, the Order was wounded, but not dead, and he wouldn't see what Teferi built so easily destroyed. There was a reason you picked me, and I will show everyone why, even if I don't understand myself.

"Goodbye Teferi Efreet, may the Force be with you."

With that, Darron lit the pyre, and everyone joined him in sending the GrandMaster off...

Jorn followed the Grandmaster down to the pyre where they would burn the old body. he knew the old phrase that was said among the Jedi and said it himself in a whisper that nobody else could hear. "May the force be with you Teferi Efreet."
