Ghost Planet [Mando Dominion of Generis]

Mia shook her head, chuckling to herself at the robots mannerisms. Had he been of flesh and blood, her reaction would have been entirely different but he was a droid, one with a few wires loose and made a fried circuit board but he was essentially harmless. "We'll keep em busy, you get to the control panel."

Skirting round to the right she kept behind the cover of the rocks, pulling free her blaster rifle free once more she found herself a good spot, protected from blaster cover from below, her HUD display would give her good warning of anyone trying to sneak up behind her. With nothing more than her head and the barrel of the rifle visible from below Mia opened fire, picking off the stragglers and covering the tincan's back.

The Bard bolted. There was no other word for it. Down the cave wall, through the mass of pirates that were converging on the droid, and behind a storage crate holding the wealth of (small) worlds -- the Bard bolted. Blasterfire spattered off his impromptu cover, but the fight soon focused on Mia and the droid, and he managed to make his way into the control cabin. His sonic servodriver whirred, locking the door behind him; then it squealed as he began reworking the hangar door controls. The entire ceiling, segmented durasteel, broke apart, revealing jungle and sky.

If the Mandos had orbital assets, they should now be able to detect the pirate ships -- but frantic pirates were beginning to string camo netting across the widening gap!

Ranger walked from container to container, using them as vague cover as he moved. His twin blaster pistols fired in every direction as his optical receptors tracked multiple targets. These pirates weren't much in the grand scheme of things... but credits... those were important and this pirate was worth a lot of them. As he shot a pirate in the gut he contemplated what it meant that he cared about the quality of his targets. Other bounty hunters claimed to only go after the toughest targets, but he simply went after those where he could gain the most money. Instantly he examined the cost of each of his blaster shots, microcredits really, and then subtracted it from the bounty amount. If a bounty was high, but would require too many expenses he simply refused.

A pirate came up behind him, but his sensors saw them, he turned and fired catching the man in the shoulder. That was ninety two blaster shots since this job began. He would have to remember to charge the human female should she survive the encounter. He took a moment to check up on her turning his head all the way around and looking while firing in another direction. "Stay safe!" he yelled as his head turned and started to suppress a group of brigands with his blaster pistols. They each refused to raise their heads from behind the barricade. He counted the shots as they all fired, nearly two hundred total for this bounty now. What a waste. He started to walk away twisting his torso to continue firing as he walked. Soon he would be at an angle behind their cover and able to eliminate the pirates there. Thank goodness he demanded expenses from his client. Already they owed him another full credit.

The tincan's cry of stay safe fell on deaf ears as Mia rose from her cover. Darting across the ledge firing until she reached the end, when she dropped out of sight again holstering her blaster as bolts peppered the rock behind her showering her with dust. Activating her jet pack she soared over the fight landing on one of the shuttles, her pistol taking out those who were attempting to cover he gap with camo netting.

Fire erupted from her left arm, setting the netting alight as her right hand worked tirelessly to keep the pirates at bay. Satisfied the camo nets were out of action she jumped down from her vantage point, catching the pirates between her and the tincan, they had two choices. Face the mad robot, or run into the fire.

Everyone but Mia's group

Verz had walked down the other path, only because Mia had more experience with this sort of thing. Supposedly. His blaster was ready, as wereall of his weapons on his armor. His HUD displayed the tunnel in murky night vision, scanning the area in infared to look for hostiles.

As the corridor led the group onward, he heard growls. Instinctively, he fired at the sound. A whimper, then more growls. More tuk'ata. He fired , advancing bit by bit. One tuk'ata leaped at him, and since it was near 6 foot at the shoulder, managed it quite well. On the ground, Verz fought to keep the monster from ripping his head off. He struggled with the creature, neither getting the upper hand, but that could quickly change.

Alarm bells flipped out politely, sounding the alarm as some unseen pirate chieftain realized that the Mandos could detect their subterranean ships.

And the Bard closed the doors again. A hiss of the sonic servodriver locked the controls, sealing the doors half-shut. That left the ships detectable, but unable to escape or engage the Mandalorians.

It also left him, Monroe and the droid trapped in a hornet's nest of panicking pirates.

Trapped. The Droid realized that the doors were not all closed, and that his target couldn't escape. He was trapped. Remembering what happened during his last hunt he made sure that the platform he was on was stable. He took cover as a new barrage of blaster fire lanced out toward him. The sensors told him where the pirates were. He poked his head and arms up and fired several times downing three pirates before a burst from their leaders gun hit the barrel in front of him. The metal twisted and buckled and turned to ash. A disruptor. The droid mimicked a groan with his audio speakers and stood up to run away as the slow firing weapon chased him. He would have to use that. From his side he pulled a sonic grenade and threw it at the the cluster of men. The pirate leader dodged, and fell out of sight. Ranger had no time to track him, the other pirates were already scrambling to attack him. The servos in his legs whined as he moved at super human speeds. He jumped and landed on a catwalk above the scene below where he could get a better look. Mia was doing well, for a female. He had been told by several spacers that females were less capable, this was proving false. He scanned the room for his target and then frowned. He was sneaking up behind Mia's position. "Danger! Danger!" he yelled jumping from his perch and running across the massive hanger. Two blaster bolts nicked him in the thigh, but he continued raising his pistol up. It jammed. He knew his second was out of ammo, and he didn't have time to recharge. He didn't break stride as he came up behind the man. The pirate leader turned and he brought up his leg kicking at him and gripping with his long toed foot. Throwing the man like a rag doll he took cover beside Mia and simply said, "That is two you owe me."

A Familiar gold and blue helmet flew through the air, and slammed into the Tuk'ata's head, dazing it and forcing it to step off of Verze. Alliera tackled the beast, topping the dazed creature, with a throwing knife drawn. Before the creature could start fighting back, Alliera had her throwing knife in the creature's neck, and was being painted in it's blood. "You Ok?" Alliera asked, looking at Verz "that one was big."

"Ah dang, you're getting blood all over your armor. Again."

Rach rose from his own dead tuk'ata. The overgrown monster quivered and lay still, and he grimaced within his helmet. "This one was smart. Tried talking to me in what sounded like Ancient Sith, but I'm not one for that kind of foolishness. I mean, not apart from a bit of magic or two." He sheathed his knife and stalked down the hall into a gigantic, abandoned crypt. "The tuk'ata must have been this room's guardians...interesting."

A hidden door slammed shut behind him, sealing in some of the Mandos with Rach, and sealing some outside. The ceiling grumbled and began to descend. Spikes jutted out, matching holes in the floor...

"Vor entye ner vod." Verz quickly got up, checking his weapons, making sure they were ok. He spotted more tuk'ata, but they seemed to be scared. He raised his weapon again, aimed at the smaller one, then fired a burst of blaster bolts. The beast screamed and fell, dead.

Then, as they walked into the next room, it sealed itslef. "Haar'chak!" Verz looked around, trying to find a way out. Then spikes made themselves known with a metallic shhiing!. He looked around, and spotted a wall with some cracks. He hurried over to it, and pulled out some themal detonators he had on his belt. He quickly attached them to the wall and set them to detonate at a remote signal.

Thunging the det control, Verz hurried over to the other wall, only a couple meters away. "Here we go" he called to the others. He then actibated the detonators, blowing a hole in the side of the wall, which revealed a room without metal spikes trying to crush them.

"Bard! What are you doing!?" she muttered as the doors began to close trapping all of them in. The momentary flare of panic distracted her enough for someone to get behind her, though the tin can was upon him saving her for the second time. Ducking behind cover she grinned at the droids comment. "Just two? I think I'm doing ok then. You can add it to my tab."

Peering from behind their cover she assessed their situation. "Ok Tincan." she began as she pulled a flash bang grenade from her hip. "You get your target, I'll keep them busy." Resting one pistol on the top of there cover she fired blind, driving the pirates into their own cover before twisting from behind the cover and throwing the grenade, before hiding once more.

clink, clink.....BOOM

"Go!" Rising from the cover, Mia laid down covering fire for the Tincan. the red bolts finding homes in the warm flesh of the dazed pirates. She needed a bigger distraction though, something to really shake things up. Her eyes fell on a fuel tanker and she smiled inwardly. "Bard, stay hidden, its about to get warm in here." Moving from cover to cover, she continued to pepper the pirates before she found herself in a good position. Switching once more from her pistols to her rifle she emptied the charger into the tanker. Hiding behind the container once more as the bright orange flame erupted from the tanker engulfing most of the hanger.

Ohfethohfethohfeth.

The fireball flattened the little control shed, jamming the overhead doors half-open. The Bard picked himself up out of the debris, clambering ahead of assorted flaming pirates and tranquil, singleminded blasterbolts. The air grew thin from the fireball -- hence the subvocalized 'ohfethohfethohfeth' as opposed to oxygen-wasteful screaming. The Bard stumbled against the flank of one of the transport ships, a heavily modified YV-330.

Without, he noticed, guns.

The sonic servodriver whirred, the hatch opened, and he tumbled inside.

Ranger was in the middle of the hanger when the fuel ignited. It didn't matter though, he was a droid. Metal wasn't effected by the fire as much as organics. They fled before him as he hunted their leader down. The fire chased the pirates across the floor. Their leader, like the rest, dropped their weapons in the rush to escape the blaze. Ranger stepped over those he could and shot those who threatened him. He approached the leader blaster in hand and fired twice into his chest. His optical receptors took an image saving it in his databanks. That was enough for him to receive the reward. He'd heard some clients demanded a head or other proof of the kill but this one wasn't picky. If the raids stopped and the there was simple photographic evidence then that would be enough. As he walked back toward Mia he discarded his flaming cloak and lowered his hat's rim in a polite acknowledgement. "Thanks for the assist," he said in his mechanized accent. Now came the hard part, the part that was polite and right but hurt his mechanical heart. "I saved your life twice. Fifteen credits is my standard rate. However you helped me on my bounty. I shall divide the bounty, seventy thirty in my favor, with you minus my expenses and the fee for saving your life. You shall receive,," his head twitched, he actually movement taking longer than the calculation, "four hundred credits, I even rounded," his head twitched again, "up."

Backblast shoved Rach against the side of a spike, and he pushed away, scrambling on the rubble-strewn floor. Snatching Alliera's gauntlet, he dragged her through the hole just as the ceiling came down. A dead tuk'ata turned to pulp, its juices spraying onto his boot from the narrow slit between floor and descended ceiling.

"Looks like an old side dormitory. How far can this place possibly go?" He kicked in a door; ancient wood splintered. "Must be two, three hundred years old at least -- the kind of bolthole that a Sith group might have created to outlast the darkness."

There were skeletons inside, split by a lightsabre. Rach stooped and picked up a crumbling skull.

"Look at this. Crushed by a punch to the face -- a punch with two huge knuckles instead of four. Whiphid. Velok has been here." Rach chuckled and threw the skull aside. "Which means we'll find nothing in the way of Dark Side power. The schutta probably talked his way past the tuk'ata and left them to obstruct tomb raiders as a joke."

Blasterfire punched through the wall, catching Rach flat-footed. He scrambled through the rubble to the hole in the dormitory wall, and glanced through.

Only to look down on a starship hangar, and a battle in progress.

"It's Monroe and a couple of friends -- looks like they need our help!"

The freighter was long and narrow, grimy and deserted. The Bard picked his way forward through the detritus and loot of a mediocre pirate crew, and found the cockpit.

"No weapons...hmm."

He sat down and pondered the monstrosity in place of a weapons suite.

"Deep scanners...is that a CGT? Insanity...its like a mapping skiff but so much better. And I bet they use you for finding all the valuables...oh yes, I can work with this."

He linked the scanners to the comms to the cavern ceiling above, and stabbed his sonic servodriver into the works. The huge durasteel segments opened fully.

Panicked pirate ships gunned for open sky...that is, the survivors.

Alliera looked out into the newly revealed Pirate hangar, and watched as the pirates started to escape, "Aww...I was hoping for something Sith-y" Alliera said, Faux-Pouting "Well, Pirates aren't too bad I guess..."
Alliera ran into the hangar, and hopped into an already half-occupied Y-Wing Cockpit, and started the take off sequence. As an afterthought, she shot the pirate Co-pilot, who looked like he was about to try the same to her. "Rachie, this is a two seater version!" Allliera called to rach, stalling the take off "Would you be my co-pilot?"

As pirate craft clawed for the open sky, Rach bent his head forward and fired his jetpack's missile through the ceiling's hangar doors. A little assault ship took the hit and crashed messily, outside. Fireball, rumbling, etc.

Gritting his teeth at the pet name, he slipped into the gunner's seat of the old Y-Wing. Whether it had been refitted after a few hundred years, or whether it was one of the remake clones that Velok churned out at Koensayr, age had cracked the fighter-bomber's seats and faded its paint. "This ship doesn't look too reliable -- but we've flown worse, I guess."

The cockpit sealed, the vessel took off under Alliera's control, and Rach set about using the ion turret to devastating effect in the escaping pirate ships.

"It's an old bird, but she'll do." Alliera said, thumbing the Torpedoe switch and firing one "It's definitely better than trying to dog-fight in a freighter though." Alliera's torpedo took out an old YT-2400 that was straggling behind the herd of escape ships, causing it to crash into the ground below. Alliera got behind a frieghtor and started pounding it with the Blaster Cannons on the Y-Wing, causing it to start sputtering and sway. The Freighter eventually crashed into another Pirate ship, and both exploded. The pirates had not been idle in this, as they returned fire as best as they could, and they were starting to work down the Y-wing's shields. "Hold On!" Alliera said to rach, dodging a volume of fire just barely, and barrel rolling.

They'd gotten very, very lucky, taking advantage of the pirates' disarray and panic, but the pirates reacted quickly to being attacked by one of their own vessels. The Y-Wing wasn't the most maneuverable thing ever, and Rach and Alliera soon found themselves with a quartet of interceptors on their tail. Other pirate ships unleashed a torrent of turret troubles. Rach returned fire wit the rear-facing ion turret.

"I sure hope someone else managed to get into a ship..."

Ori'Alor Tal'Verda

Leader of the True Mando'Ade
As Alliera attempted to evade the pirate interceptors, and the turret fire, she also had to keep the pressure on the pirate ships. So it was doubtless she'd have to sacrifice something to eather ensure Rach and her's safety or take out another pirate ship. She chose to try and take out another pirate ship, and loosed a torrent of firepower on the engines of an unfortunate pirate ship, causing it to crash into the ground. THe unfortunate side effect of this was the interceptors and the enemy turrets breaking through the venerable Fighter-Bomber's shields and wrecking an engine, causing it to start spinning. "If we don't make it out of this." Alliera said, trying to keep control of the fighter-Bomber "I want to say that..." Alliera was destracted when she saw a freighter come close to finish the Y-Wing off, and she smiled devilishly. Alliera popped the cockpit roof off of the Y-Wing, and stabilized the Y-Wing enough to where the spins weren't constant, flying directly over the enemy freighter upside down. Palming her Lightsaber, Alliera opening her and Rach's seatbelts with an application of the force, and they fell onto the YT-2400. Alliera used her lightsaber to keep her, and by extension Rach as she was holding him, on the ship whiule simultaniosly opening an impromptu hatch in the ship. when the hole was cut, Alliera forced herself and rach through it, and into the hallways of the ship.
