Hello,

I'm new here, but I've spent the last hour or so going over the getting started guide here; http://starwarsrp.net/topic/119797-guide-getting-started-rules-updated-30aug2019/

It's been quite helpful, but there's a few things I'm still wondering about that I hoped someone could help me with.

I am looking to RP a Stormtrooper, and while the guide mentioned factions it didn't really say anything about what factions there were or what exactly they did. Could anyone help me with that? Also is there anything I have to adhere to in order to join a specific faction?

First off! Welcome! If you have any questions, please let me know! Second, as for factions, there are many. I am not sure we currently have many that have traditional storm troopers, however, there are many very similar ideas on the board. I'm part of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, and we have the Dauntless Commandos, which are based on the aesthetics and some of the ideas of the Clone Troopers, the precursors to the storm troopers. If you are interested in something like that!

Interesting that the CIS wouldn't have droids!

Is there information pages I can look at for CIS? I found the faction ads but can't seem to find that one.

Hey there! Welcome to the site.

To answer your question, the CIS faction page can be found here. There are presently several brands of trooper styled aesthetic running around at present if they don't fill your needs. The Core Imperium Confederation for your classic Empire, the Sith Empire for your Dark overlord motif, or even the Silver Jedi Order which has a branch of troopers known as the Antarian Rangers.

If those don't catch your fancy, there's plenty more. Full list of the directory can be found here.

If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to throw them out here or in the discord (link in the upper right).

The Factions page should have all the factions easily accessible. I'm pretty sure the Core Imperial Confederation still stick to the TK aesthetic. The First Order, although recently having crumbled, are making a come-back and (I think) recently updated their trooper armour. As for everyone else, idk.

Yep, that or just simply writing @ followed by a name. In the grandest of theories, it will automatically notify someone that they've been @mentioned. Occasionally it doesn't quite work as planned, but there is a fair percentage of success.

As silly as it sounds im coming off of a rewatch of Star Wars and Band of Brothers, I'm hugely into writing the idea of wars and such right now. Would there be opportunity for that in the CIC?

The Core Imperial Confederation's narrative leaves room open for that sort of narrative, a lot of our dominion stories and faction threads revolve around the CIC coming into conflict with radical insurgent groups and the struggle between different political factions within the one-party state which is something we've just started work on creatively. In addition, the Core Imperial Confederation doesn't shy away from engaging other Major Factions when suitable within the greater story and just recently has actively been waging an in-narrative/in-character campaign against the Mandalorian Empire.

Chaos has a smorgasbord of Factions to choose from, and the beauty is that you can write characters in multiple of them simultaneously. If you have any issues navigating the site just tag somebody in this thread or one of the board Admins and I'm sure they'll be happy to assist you.

Welcome to the board! If you have any questions feel free to ask! CIC, and CIS are both great factions. I represent the Sith Empire, you're welcome to come have a look over to see if we sit what you're looking for. We have the Sith Legion, our ground troops and army personnel. We do a little bit SWTOR and a little bit Stormtrooper but in all honesty you would be welcome to write your troops as either or. Whatever you decide, know that you may indeed join multiple factions at once of you so choose.
