"Perfect."

Any man, regardless of power or wealth, would get nervous under the presence of a such beautiful woman such as Ra. He was a warrior, waged in many battles, participated in countless operations and yet his temple started to sweat when talking to her.

Maybe it was a bad thing or it wasn't but he was loyal and caring. He showed that in the intimacy of his personal life.

Coiling his fingers around his drink and sipping after Ra did, Ar'ekk looked around for a moment to spot any familiar faces and then turned his gaze back to her. Everyone was busy talking to other people, mingling and laughing about mundane things. Others were nervously looking around for someone to talk to. The place was crowded for sure.

"Cheers."

Deep breathes. In and out slow. So, yes, she had asked out a girl at a public event and it had not gone well. Well, truthfully, Kat did not know how it went as she left before Beth had a chance to reaction. Splashing water on her face, Kat heard voices calling her name. Seemed that the Queen Mother and Beth were looking for her. There was no point in ducking out of the party early and never facing them again.

Fiddling with strands of her hair nervously, she sighed and headed outside and walked over to them. Standing, her eyes lowered to the ground unable to look either them in the eye. "I. I'm sorry Beth, I misread your friendship." Kat said quietly as she swallowed back the nerves. "I'm sorry Queen Mother for causing a fuss... I should leave though, parties aren't me..." Kat trailed off to nowhere, she stood where she was this time.

"Cheers."

For a moment, Ra actually smiled at Ar'ekk. He seemed nervous and out of place here. She was one of them and it wasn't nervous. While she worked with many people, Ra wasn't one to join and enjoy time with large crowds. Here she was out of place and would rather find a corner to watch people.

Needing to play the part of a socialite now and then was fine and so here she was.

Taking a sip of the drink, she looked at Ar'ekk as he looked around them. Alex had disappeared and left them alone, there wasn't anybody else she knew personally that she could see.

"What type of freelance work?"

Just making small conversation now, but it was a neutral topic she thought and showed she had an interest in him.

"Slicing, debt collection, etcetera. That line of work."

Good, small talk.

That would certainly loosen them up a bit as they waited for the big event of the evening, what everyone was here for. Ar'ekk was not a criminal despite he worked for people in the underworld and did not see himself as such, simply a hired gun with the skill and capabilities to carry out tasks true of an enforcer sort of speak.

He was a good slicer too, his interest in computers and technology had peaked during his early teenager days stealing from the rich on the underbelly of Coruscant.

Maybe it was a bad thing or it wasn't but he was loyal and caring. He showed that in the intimacy of his personal life.

At this point, he was going to be straightforward with Ra as she seemed serious enough to understand. Maybe it wasn't something she liked to hear, perhaps she liked "bad boys." at some extent. Who really knew, right?

"Not just that, though. Freelance means I get to do those things whenever I feel like it, my daily life's not that adventurous."

Syn stopped as he heard the girl speak. 'Kira? What a beautiful name.' He replied as he shook the girls hand. From the little he could tell about her see seemed, either nervous or awkward. What for he had no idea, but at the very least the pair would now be talking.

'I'm Syn Blacken, quite the party isn't it?' He said with a grin. 'I love a good excuse to stop wearing my darn armor everywhere I go. Keeps me sane.'

'No rambling Syn, smile and chat and you'll be fine.' He thought to himself as he stopped speaking. Allowing for the girl to talk.

[member="Kira"]

Listening to Ar'ekk speak, she nodded and lifted a finger to mention a couple things, but waited until he finished.

"Debt collector huh? Maybe I'll use you on the chance I don't get paid for business. Granted that's not happened before, but there can always be a first time. Also your accent is similar to mine. While there are so many from the Core, I wonder where you're from."

He mentioned his daily life didn't have much adventure and after taking a drink, Ra pointed to herself.

"I can be a paper pusher. The life of a merchant is not exciting either."

"Sure thing, you can always let me know."

He nodded firmly, taking into account her future employment offer. It was a good thing to have contacts because you never know when credits will come in handy, his wealth was proper but even that wasn't infinite. She had good intentions and that was much appreciated.

The taste of his champagne became a little sour at the mention of his accent. His homeworld was bombarded at a very devastating rate and though he did not care much if not at all, his childhood friends continued to live there after all these years.

"Coruscant. That's where I grew up as far as I know, never knew my true origins. I heard something wrong happened but I've been disconnected from the galaxy. Lithios is my home now."

Allana Badeaux

Ta’a Chume – Queen Mother
Location: In the ladies bathroom with Kat and Beth

The Ta’a Chume darting through the crowd holding the hand of another person? It did garner the looks of other people who happened to be in the area. As the two called out the name of Kat it was very possible those looks soon turned to gossip as the rumors started to float about.

That was ok, let the talk. Allana was starting to get used to people talking. She had changed when the last attempted at her life was taken. Many within the court noticed this. She was near death that day. So she came out maybe with a little more respect for life?

“I’m not upset Kat”, the Ta’a Chumed answer Kat in the bathroom. “This party is just as much for you as it is for me and Beth. I think you should come out and have some fun”, Allana was not trying to speak for Beth. Nor was the young lady was trying to. She was trying to uplifted Kat’s mood and hopefully help someone to enjoy the party.

He certainly did not walk by. “Beautiful, what”, she gasped trying to understand. Understand not what was being said, or even her own personal feelings at the word beautiful being mentioned about her.

The look of confusion was visible…the wide eyes, the simple way eye brows, and the awkward smile upon her face. She was certainly expressive. As she spoke and reacted every reaction was laced in some quirky way physically. She was most defiantly not Hapen, she did not hide her feelings.

“Nice to meet you MR Syn”, the shocked o-smile drifted off replaced a little more confident smile. She did reach her hand out in hopeful a pleasant greeting. “I’m Doctor Kira of Sakura Medical, a department of Sensori Design”, well hopefully he was willing to shake hands.

Giving Ar'ekk a hint of a smile, Ra nodded when he agreed to be a potential contact in the future. She had already given him her card so he could contact her any time he wanted. He had yet to return the favor, but she wasn't going to ask for one. Anything in the future would be in his hands until he gave her a way to get in touch with him.

"I thought so. I spent a few years on Coruscant myself. Actually thought I had grown up there at an orphanage, but that turned out false. Either way, I heard the accent in your voice. Can't mistake the core world sound."

While she could do a good job at imitation, she also had the core sound naturally.

"My home is on Vjun. Bast Castle. Quite a famous place. The world is almost dead though since it has acid for rain. No plant life can live there."

[member="Arekk"]

'I said you have a beautiful name.' He repeated hoping he wasn't making the conversation too weird. Okay so maybe he made her feel weird. That wasn't the reaction he was hoping for but it was the one he got. 'Well not that its only your name that's beautiful.'

His grin faded as he realized just how awkward he'd made it now. He didn't exactly have a filter when it came to things like this, his people weren't exactly the most subtle creatures around.

'No need to call me Mr Syn. If any one should have a fancy title its you doc. My occupation is nowhere near as grand as yours.' Syn wanted to change the topic boy boy was he having trouble with it.

He didn't want to out of the jump tell her that while she went about saving people. He did the opposite and slaughtered them for credit and honor...also some times because they angered him. Yeah...his 'job' wasn't exactly something to start people off especially at a fancy party.

[member="Cathbodua"]

"I would be... honoured to accept your invitation." Er'in replied quietly, then as if struck by a sudden curiosity, she leant forward. "Tell me, Master Jedi. Why did you join the Jedi Order?"

[member="Erin Tenel"]

"They were the ones who would have me, it is rare to see jedi within the consortium but there happened to be one on Selab so when I was being sent away he took me instead. Easier then trying to find my way on my own plus chance to become a doctor and healer." She gave a small shrug to it, sure of maany things but she didn't always claim the force was so all powerful it had decided everything but she was willing to beliueve it made things better for her and it allowed her to when there was attacks come back and help out. Even with the whole family being killed and now they might be under the heels of another government.

[member="Cathbodua"]

"Hrmph. I suppose we're more alike than I had considered." Er'in replied honestly. "The Sith - if you can call Darth Metus that, I have some philosophical disagreements with my masters teachings as well - were the only ones who would take me after my family was ruined, it was that or a few decades as someone's Hapan plaything, and I'm not really into ritual humiliation." The final few words were bitten off, anger swelling unbidden at the percieved injustice. "I suppose you win some, you lose some. Would you care to dance, Lady Cathbouda?"

[member="Erin Tenel"]

She looked at her and remained neutral with her expression, eyes flicking over to her and downcast a little but she stood up a little taller. "Hmmm a dance would be lovely." She offered a hand to the woman though when she moved around and could see some fo the others. [member="Kira"] had entered and she recognized her somewhat maybe... she seemed new but there was also the queen mother [member="Allana Djo"] who continued to entertain and see the other guests before she spoke standing there with Erin. "But there is one thing to do first." She said it while looking at her and the film on her eyes made them terrible in some cases but she could still see the hood. "Please take down your hood."

Er'in stared - or rather, didn't stare, given the hood, but it was obvious her gaze was trained on [member="Cathbodua"] regardless.

The wash of emotions that ran through her never once touched her face and were so rapid and confusing it is unlikely she made any sense of them, never mind anyone else, but anger, shame and a sort of arrogant, tattered pride predominated. Her back straightened and her hauteur became a match for any of the royalty of Hapes.

After that long moment, she reached up to play with with the hood.

"Why?" She asked, her voice crisp, sharp and aristocratic - but not angry, apparently genuinely curious.

[member="Erin Tenel"]

She tilted her head but now was more and more curious while speaking about why she wanted her to do it.. Maybe it was status, something she knew from her parents about having others look give you status... or follow you but she was thinking about it here. "Well dancing with a hooded figure seems like it could be so attention getting and not in the best way. Wouldn't you want to show off your beauty for all here to see. The only one who is important here Lady Tenel." She offered a smile and her hand to go out towards the dance floor with an expression of interest on her face. She wasn't worried about the others around them.

[member="Cathbodua"]

Er'in listened, then nodded faintly as she took the offered hand to walk out onto the dance floor.

It was hard to tell if she believed the reason given, or if the curiosity had been as much intellectual as emotional. But regardless, with her free hand she reached up to brush back her hood from her head and upper face, revealing the luminescent violet orbs that glittered where her eyes should be.

That bright confident smile did not fade as her blue eyes searched over every aspect within this conversation. The results were in. Kira was clearly in over head and had about zero experience within this department. The gentleman clarified he said her name sounded beautiful. The expressive young female eyes went wide as she processed this. Then he doubled down and said she was beautiful. Kira’s checks flared up into a bright link. She was just looking for a little conversation. Instead she found a man who might be a little more interested then conversation.

Then the man’s grin disappeared. The emphatic young woman picked up right away the man’s emotions had shifted. The warmth within her checks faded as the pink decreased in color. Kira felt every emotion coming from the man she was speaking with. Ever since she was small she was cursed with this level of empathy. Well it was a blessing and a curse she received from both of her parents.

He did not have to tell her he was uncomfortable with some parts of the conversation and that he felt remorse. She picked up on the fact he felt sympathy. The exact detail of why was not there but she could feel it was not remorse for accidentally spilling champagne on some young noble woman’s extremely expensive dress.

This was a conversation and with it typical there was a certain procedure to it. She was certain she would have to carefully proceed because she did not wish to cause any undue suffering to this man over whatever was troubling him.

“Then first names it shall be”, her smile perked up trying to give Syn a friendly face to liven up Syn’s dower mood. “Then please just call me Kira”, it was only fair, let there be no title for the evening.

“You said armor though”, the flow of conversation meant to pick up on something he said and make light friendly conversation. “What type of armor do you wear”, she was around plenty of people typically that wore armor. Most of the time she spent time giving them proper medical treatment. “I personally have a uniform when on duty. It does provide some armor.”

She was hoping she approved the armor question correctly. It sounded like he was a soldier of some type and felt guilty maybe of something that happened.

Alexandra Feanor

The Lady in Silver/Grey Historian
Alexandra continued through the hall, almost stopped by a man only to have him walk and talk to someone else.

That was fine though, her eyes and mind were focused on someone else and she quickly seized another drink as she downed it, trying to loosen her up. She was nervous, to put it simply, her breath quick and her eyes shutting from time to time to calm her stomach and relax her chest. She felt like the earth rested on it and she couldn't help but falter in her steps now and then because of the distractions in her body. She didn't know what she should say to Vulpesen, how to approach him, how to try and start repairing things like had been suggested to her.

This was her first good chance at starting those repairs, and she was acting like she had never known how to act at something like this or how to act in this situation. She wanted to kick herself in the rear end for feeling like this but there was little she could do. And as she thought on that, her mind wandered to other things, specifically how her hair was and her choice of dress.

It made her want to tear her hair out being like this, her hands closed as they rested behind her now while she walked. She squeezed hard on the open air, almost as if trying to choke something considering how white her knuckles were getting. She cursed herself for being like this again over him, but at the same time smiled a stupid smile, one that was without care or worry, one that sat there on her face and did not vanish.

She breathed in one last time, trying to slow her heartrate as she came up behind [member="Vulpesen"]'s right side, reaching out to tap him on the shoulder quick and careful not to step too close. She would wait for him to turn and see her before she started talking, her voice uneven as she tried to put some power behind it, only to falter here and there from that nervous tension in her gut.

"Hey Fox Face. Would you mind giving me a dance, for old times sakes?" She looked at him, smiling that dumb smile still as she waited for his answer.
