Her tears of Joy (look to OOC thread before posting)

[member="Erin Tenel"]

Oh... she could see it and there was more there... her eyes were different. Compared to many she would say almost mutated in her professional opinion. Or instead of the legendary gold of the darkside it seemed she instead had her eyes go purple. Cathbodua though held her hand and moved so that they were in a more even area, on equal ground both able to lead and follow as needed. "YOur eyes look very different, almost like stars. Why you wouldn't want to show such a uniqueness I do not know. You could have just about anyone here at the party Lady Tenel." She was listenign tot he music and could hear other conversations drifting but they were not the center of attention at least.

Of course fate made sure he'd go down the path he attempted to avoid. Unfortunately he wasn't going to lie to Kira, it wasn't worth the trouble. Nor was the lie needed. 'Mandalorian Armor. I might not look like one currently.' He said gesturing towards his current outfit. 'But I certainly am. I just happen to like certain things my people don't. Light and soft clothing is amazing.'

Syn thought he went about it decently. 'You said worked for Sakura Medical right? Is there any field you specialize in?' He added.

Syn was a few moments away from asking [member="Kira"] to dance with him. She seemed to give off a good vibe and frankly he was always more then willing to befriend people who seemed like that. And of course she called him Mr Syn, that by itself could have made his night.

He couldn't help be hold back a smile, boy was it going to be fun to see her react to his next request.

Kira had placed the edge of the glass to her lips and then tiled it back when Syn started to talk about his armor. The pink bubbly drink almost tickled going down her throat. There was no surprise this time in Kira’s eyes. Through her work she had heard of the treaty between Hapes and the Mandlaorian Empire.

“Yes I do”, she began to explain her profession. “I specialize in biotechnology and cyber technology” the two different fields was a hearty amount of knowledge. Even taking up one doctorate could take a decade of studying to learn.

She could sense the man was a little more relaxed now and she felt a little relaxed herself, mostly because of the pink drink. “So what different colors is your armor”, it seemed like a good question to ask. She heard each color was supposed to represent something. In her mind this was going to be interesting to learn.

"I visited Dxun, similar place. Acid rains and big Rancors hiding beneath the darkness of hollow caves."

That was a nod back to the adventure he and Cassius Droma, a Padawan from the The Jedi Order times, had during a mission to uncover a hidden Sith military base in the depths of the acidic rain jungle.

Everything ripped apart in a minute, having to get out with guns blazing and coming face to face with death twice. A rancor but also deadly troops armed to the teeth.

Ar'ekk had her business card and in return he gave her absolutely nothing, indeed. His way of communication was much more "encrypted", sort of speak. It avoids getting traced and detected by old foes but also it was a safe option to establish a connection with the woman, if he decided to show her how. In due time.

"I hoped the accent had faded by now, to be honest." He said in jest, grinning. "When is the dance happening anyways?"

"Can't say I've been to Dxun before, but I've been to a great many places over the years. Being a merchant does that."

Not staying in one place for long, but when she wasn't working, she was on Vjun and in her castle. It wasn't such a cold place all told. Little touches of herself were imprinted there and she had made it her home. Only death would separate her from it. Even that could be avoided though or at least delayed.

She did not speak any of that out loud, Ar'ekk would have no way of knowing about her sith past and that would remain secret as long as she could.

"No accent ever fades totally. Besides, I have an ear for picking up on things like that."

Shrugging her shoulders and shaking her head, Ra took a sip of her drink and set the glass down.

"I have no idea. They were warming up when we got these drinks so any time I would think."

'The one I use the most has a fair bit of coloring to it. It's grey and black with hints of maroon here and there.' Syn had a number. 'It's the coloring of my clan. Most Mandalorians do assign colors for a certain reason, be it to pay tribute to a lost loved one or to represent something. But as expected some just like how it looks.'

'Maybe we can chat more about ourselves while dancing?' It felt like the right moment to ask. It would provide the pair with more of a chance to learn about one another, and possibly begin a new friendship. 'I'd love to learn more about you. You seem like a decent person.'

Syn's standard of decent was different to most. A decent person was someone who didn't come off as rude to him. [member="Kira"] seemed nice but looks and first impressions could and were always deceiving.

Her eyes drifted over in though as she thought of the color scheme. Grey, black, and marron? Well it was kind of flashy in a dark moody kind of way. Her conclusion Syn’s clan maybe chose the colors to intimidate their enemies? It was highly theoretical and most likely incorrect.

“Dance”, she asked questionably while turning to look at the dance floor then back to Syn. “They never thought this sort of dancing in the orphanage grew up in on Coruscant. Luckily I’m a quarter Echani and dancing tends to come naturally to me”, Kira sat down her near to empty champagne flute on the table next to her. Then she held out her hand. At these sorts of things the lady was supposed to be escorted to the dance floor, right?

"Never been a person to travel that much. Coruscant, Dxun, Malachor V, you name it. I could count the places I've been with the palm of my hand."

He liked the rain of Lithios, walking under massive red holographic trees and the neon-lighted billboards reflecting off the pavement made the city shine every day at any time. It was a wonderful thing to witness, nothing to envy from places such as Nar Shaddaa or even the "home of the galaxy" that Coruscant was or used to be.

Leaving his empty glass on the counter and turning to Ra once more, Ar'ekk started to feel the alcohol running through his system. If he wanted to feel well during the dance then he would have to stop drinking right there and then.

"How about we find the person in charge and ask when is it happening? That way we can prepare."

"Have you studied Sith philosophy, perhaps the works of Darth Sideous? Or even the more recent texts by Velok the Younger? I have more time for Velok than I do for Darth Sideous, he follows closer to the legacy left by Darth Cadeus."

Er'in continued the conversation without missing a step in the dance, her movements automatic and by reflex.

"Either way, true Sith - not those fools who build planet destroying weapons and march armies across a map - understand that power comes from the Force alone. But we use that power, it does not use us. Corruption is a mark of shame, not success. It is hubris and over reach."

"To understand you have to be willing to learn. I have read and I found no interest in it." She said it and she was a dedicated jedi but she knew one of the greatest dangers... disinformation and ignorance of things created pride or thoughts that you were better then another. The jedi master looked to avoid that and compared to others who seemed to believe the only way to understand was to preform and do... she found study and reading the accounts and where they faltered could be better. Her movements not faltering while she looked upon her though... an interesting game or conversation. She spoke though flicking her senses around herself. "An interesting way of looking at it though."

He could sense the presence coming forward, and turning his body, Vulpesen faced his advisor. "So, about the newest bill, the one that declares that various parts f the forest be protected. What do you think about it?" The look on Lucas' face was one of pure confusion. Certainly, the bill was one that existed in the Varan government, but Vulpesen's sudden interest, was a certain shock as the Valde never showed interest in such mundane things. Of course, it would all make sense as a woman tapped on his shoulder and asked him for a dance.

Smiling broadly, Lucas was unable to prevent his greyish tail from wagging behind him. "I think, Valde, that internal politics are not on your agenda tonight." Turning around, he went off to find some Hapan noble he could speak with while his leader was occupied.

Vulpesen stood for a moment, stunned at Lucas' manner of departure. Although, after a deep breath, he turned to face Alexandra. It was a different face, but the presence in the force, ad the way she carried herself still brought back a flood of memories. Sure many were good, but his relationship with her had also occurred greatly during a dark part of his past, and the way it ended had been anything but pretty. Still, being as polite as he could, he managed to put on a passive demeanor as he offered a hand. "Alright."

[member="Alexandra Feanor"]

"Oh you poor thing."

For once Ra showed a sense of sympathy for Ar'ekk. She couldn't understand not travelling. Even though she had grown up on one small, no-name planet, as an adult she did this for a living. Nothing could bring about a sense of peace and sometimes adventure as that of travelling around.

"My job might be boring, but I'll have to take you around the galaxy some. Put some miles under your feet."

The offer wasn't just extended to be polite or nice, but it was genuine. If he ever wanted to travel with her, she would welcome his company on the fleet.

Right after he mentioned finding the person in charge, the music started up and she shook her head.

"I don't think we need to do that."

"I'd love to do that with you, definitely."

A change of scenery would do him greatly, to change the rainy days of Lithios to probably some sunny warm days at a beach on some remote peaceful planet and enjoy some relaxing time. That sounded like some utopic plan at most but totally possible if they could do that, whatever they set ahead as a goal would be possible to accomplish.

The music began to set the mood for the evening, it was time for the big show to start and all the guests seemingly prepared for the occasion as they gathered on the dance floor. Some of them stayed behind, others sought refuge at the table that had all the drinks and the rest picked their dancing partners for the evening.

Luckily, Ar'ekk had Ra.

"Shall we share this upcoming piece?" He asked, offering his arm to her with a big smile.

[member="Vulpesen"] was clearly not as happy to see her and the hand that came out made her hesitate. She looked the man the eyes for a moment and waited, trying to figure out what she could say to just fix things. But she knew it was not that simple, so instead she took the hand and smiled softly as she looked up at the man's face. Her smile cracked into a small chuckle as she looked down and started to walk with him, letting him lead them to where ever Vulpesen chose for them to dance at.

"You know fox face..." She started, still looking at the ground with an almost sad smile on her face. "I have wanted to do this with you for over two years now... It brings back alot of memories." Her eyes stayed where they were for a few more moments before glancing back to him, likely at this point turning to face him as well as they would begin, her second hand finding his shoulder.

"It was a mistake to leave..." She said, adding a bit under her breath, the last bit inaudible, even to their ears with how silently she had said the words.

"But, tonight is a happy event, so thank you Fox Face." She would start moving, no longer speaking with barely audible words and instead closing her eyes and moving with the man, remembering the time she had done this with him on the top of her temple, under the branches of one of her trees. It was a feeling that she had not had in a long time, simple and unhindered joy. Hel was shoved to the darkest depths of her mind, the woman unable to even touch Alex's conscious mind, and Daeda relaxed as his job was done for this day.

'I barely know how to dance myself. But that doesn't mean we can't have my lady.' Syn quickly grabbed her hand and began to lead her to the dance floor. 'Being born on Corusant must have been interesting to say the least.'

Syn himself had no true homeworld. Being an exile for much of his life ensured that. Even more so when his kin despised the one place they should have called home.

[member="Kira"]

It was a little sudden but Kira was quick on her feet, luckily. Luckilly she did not trip over her own feet in the initial tug that started to bring her closer to the dance floor. “Coruscant is most interesting to have grown up on. However, sadly… I don’t know if I was born on Coruscant. In my records it just said place of birth unknown. Luckily I do still have citizenship.”

As they started to dance she was a little unsure about being called a lady. She was not no noble like many of the other woman here. “Where were you born”, it just felt like a natural progression of the conversation.

"To learn a thing is not to live a thing, I have read Master Yoda's works in suriving copies of parts of the Great Holocron, I'm a strong proponent of Darth Cadeus' theory of the Unifying Force, even if he was a little limited in his scope - and that is based on the works of Master Skywalker, legends, even today. Ulric... the list goes on and on. That I reject the Jedi Code as flawed does not mean that a Jedi's understanding of the Force is not powerful, simply that I cannot or will not follow the Code."

Er'in smiles slightly.

"And I never said the Sith Code was perfect, I could give you a long critique on the failings of the Sith. Which usually involve the words overbearing arrogance."

If Ar'ekk did take her up on the offer to travel around, then Ra would make sure to set aside some time for sight seeing. A day at the beach wouldn't be a bad thing for either of them.

"Be glad to have you along and you'll also learn a bit of what I do. May not be as exciting as you think though."

It was said with a touch of humor, but there was truth in her words. Space travel could be boring. Time with only the nebula of hyperspace to look at.

The music started and people either moved to the floor with their partners or away from it for drinks. When he held his arm out to escort her to the dance floor, Ra nodded in almost a bow and placed her hand on it.

"I'm ready."

"We'll make the most of it, really. I'll take you up on that offer whenever you're ready to go."

It was a done deal. The trip was agreed between each other and visiting a beach would be something he'd suggest to Ra, perhaps in an attempt to have a mini-vacation while she was doing her work that implied space travelling.

A small pit stop somewhere nice and warm would never hurt either of them.

While she clung tight to his arm and Ar'ekk escorted his stunning partner of the evening to the dance floor, the nerves he felt during the initial moments of the party quickly dissipated.

Music made the best mood and his eyes sought hers, clashing glances for a moment before looking away.

"I'm ready too."

'Well...' Syn said as the dancing began. 'I was born on Mandalore but due to certain restrictions, I had to leave. I was a child back when that happen. More or less raised an exile but at the very least it prepared me for the rest of my life.' No love was lost between Syn and the Mandalorian Empire. They did what they did and he lived with it. Nothing could change that.

'At the very least it prevented me from ever feeling homesick. Can't want to go somewhere you were never welcomed. Besides here of course, my Hapan mother more or less made me feel as if this place was as closest to a home as I've got.' It might have been a little be weird giving his life story away to someone he just met. Yet it felt oddly refreshing.

He couldn't remember the last time he actually spoke to anyone about it. As his childhood or lack thereof was plagued full of violence and preparation for what he now called his occupation.
