The fight raged on, the Battle Analysis Computer hooked up and linked to all the ships and satellites in the system spewing order after order, target after target, calculating coordinates and path corrections all the ships under its control, most of the station's non-essential systems having their power diverted and space regulated to free up more computing power for the prototype device. Fighters were given corrections in their flight paths for where the BAC predicted or detected enemy gun turrets turning to target them, the Hammerhead cruisers trained their guns where weakpoints were detected in fluxes in the enemy's shield readings coming through the sensors, or where deterioration was picked up within the enemy hull from previous attacks. It was marvelous. . . . .
Camellia looked on in jealousy knowing that the defensive tactics were something she could very well have come up with, but she could not achieve this level of control over every craft, over every motion, every shot fired. The main limitation was the slight lag for some of the BAC's orders, moreso in the area of determining the energy fluxes for the shields and attack patterns of the enemy fighters since they were smaller and harder to detect as a whole. Nonetheless, it was truly awe inspiring to watch it do so much. When the complete unit was installed on the Silver Jedi's command center the Rendili Stardrive CEO knew that she would have to make sure her engineers put enough databanks and computing power aside for it alone so it could be this efficient.
As energy collided, Camellia listened in on the reports coming in still. The stations and cruisers were all suffering damage as they clashed with the invaders' ships. They were outnumbered even if they were fighting better. However, the Rendili woman was more interested in the progress reports of the security teams fighting the enemy boarding her station, making them pay for every bloody inch they might take, the blast doors sealed in the intersections, automated defenses online, and teams armed with their carbines and tripod-repeating blasters and their plex launchers to blow them all away. That and the communications with their own boarding teams aboard the enemy's vessels, the Rendili troops and Battlemasters attempting to fight their way out of the hangers and to critical ship compartments like the engines and weapon control centers.
There were so many things to keep track of. . . .so what was one more as more ships made their presence known. Camellia looked on with concern as an officer nearby alerted her to the appearance of new ship signatures, different from the relics they were fighting now, and unknown from their databases. They had no data to feed the BAC until they entered sensor range, and until it accustomed itself to the enemy signatures whatever contributions made by these new ships would pose a dangerous problem, but. . . .it looked as if they were taking a high position as the rest of the enemy ships withdrew. . . . .well she certainly wasn't going to complain but what was going on? "Patch me through to the Silver Jedi channels again." Waiting for the comm officer to set up the frequency, Camellia watched with dubious belief that the enemy was retreating, several of their ships backing off. She wondered if any of those were ships with her forces fighting on them. "This is Camellia Swift aboard the Bavos II Military Station to the Silver Jedi command. The enemy's fleet appears to be in partial retreat, but they also seem to have reinforcements. My own forces will not pursue, we've suffered casualties and damage and I do not believe my damaged ships can win alone in an engagement without the stations support, and with the new enemy vessels I have the feeling we'll soon be overwhelmed regardless. If nothing changes the planet should undergo an immediate evacuation. With their numbers and new support the enemy may overwhelm the defenses and have free reign to control local space."
