Frozen and shocked, Valery's Padawan just watched while Kahlil stepped forward and crouched down. Valery was crying, both because of her Master's death, and because of how she had allowed herself to slip. But when he pulled her into his arms, she felt a warmth that helped her slowly calm down a little again.
Her Master never would have wanted her to lash out, or to linger in depression because of his death. She wasn't alone, and whether it was her Padawan or someone like Kahlil, she always had people around her who cared about her.
After a moment, she nuzzled herself into him, and the vision began to slowly fade. Not to the hallway with doors, but back to Spira, where Valery sat in front of him with a frown. She looked a bit sad, although it wasn't because of the last vision. She had long ago moved on from the death of her master, and also from her scar.
Something else was on her mind.
"I... wish I could have given her a hug one more time," Valery admitted, thinking back to her mother. Perhaps she never truly developed a bond with the woman, but how much would it have meant to Yvaine if Valery had returned at least once? Just to show that she was alright. But while she couldn't do that, at least she could make sure that Vera would never have to be cut from her life.
"I uh," she looked up at him and began to smile. "Can we go back into town, please? Do something fun and silly, grab some food later, and just have a great time."
