Valery snickered and quickly finished up a large bite from her steak so she could speak, "I couldn't agree more. It needs to stay manageble and...I don't want to be pregnant for half of my adult life either." She flashed him a goofy grin of her own and ate some more of her food. It tasted as good as it did many years ago, bringing back a sense of nostalgia, but her real focus was definitely on him.

On their family and relationship.

It felt amazing to have such a supportive husband, and one who was as interested in growing and properly taking care of the family. That is ultimately why he didn't want to make it too big.

"How do you think Vera will respond to having a sibling? I hope she loves it beyond the initial excitement and becomes that big sister." She paused for a moment and looked up at him with a soft smile. "Hopefully she'll get used to our attention being a little more split."

Kahlil_Div2.png

"No, no. As fun as it is to get you to that state, you shouldn't probably stay there indefinitely. Not that we need an excuse." He cracked too wide of a grin before shrugging his shoulders. How would Vera handle it?

"She's surprisingly mature for her age. But I hope she doesn't think she has to hold back her feelings. That's my only worry, really."

"Oh we don't~" she replied with a sing-song voice and a quick waggle of her eyebrows. Two or three kids seemed like a great solid amount to her, but her argument of time didn't really matter much either. Their natural lifespans were already very long and with the Force slowing her aging down massively, she'd be able to have kids for a very long time.

If only they weren't so demanding to raise.

"That's what worries me too because I used to do that, a lot." He had seen it when he became part of her memories of the past. "But the difference is that she has us to help guide her." Now it was her turn to reach for his hand, and she squeezed it gently. "It's going to be amazing... but it also requires some work."

Her eyes shifted down to her empty plate. "How about some dessert at the cabin, love?" She flashed a wide grin and seductively leaned forward to show off and tease a bit.

Kahlil_Div2.png

"I wouldn't have it any other way, honestly."

If it was easy, would it really be worth doing? He just about sputtered into a laugh as she leaned forward though, grinning all the while as he followed suit. Just to get closer to her, for a moment. He said nothing, just standing up to reach out a hand for her to take. Flashed a wink. There'd be no more need for words now, just a quick trip back to the cabin running across the sands hand in hand.

Or more just him playfully tugging her along before just carrying her himself into the cabin.

"Desert it is."

"Me neither," Valery chuckled like a schoolgirl and blushed all over again when he leaned in closer too. She was quick to leave behind enough credits with a good tip, all so she could run off with him over the beach and be carried back into their cabin. It was a moment for some quality time with the man she loved so much.

And another chance to shape the future of their family.

As fun and needed as their vacation together to celebrate their anniversary was, Valery also looked forward to coming home again. Vera would be waiting for them after a long time of not being with her parents. Back at home, they could still be close and do things together. It would just be with the family as a whole and in a more familiar setting.

"Veraaa, we're home~" Valery sang, but to her surprise, Vera wasn't already waiting at the door. She could feel that her daughter was home, so it was extremely strange — this was the first time she hadn't sprinted over to hug her parents the second she felt them.

"Hmm..." Valery looked up at Kahlil, shrugged her shoulders, and walked over to their little star's bedroom, where she heard the young Noble walking around. When she popped through the open door, she spotted Vera putting down some pillows on the floor on some kind of makeshift bed, and even some of her stuffed animals were there.

"Mommy! Daddy!" she called out excitedly, but she didn't stop preparing the beds.

"What... are you doing, sweetie?" Valery then asked. "Do you want a sleepover with friends?"

"Nuh uh!" Vera exclaimed. "I'm going to be a big sister!" She squealed and Valery just stood completely frozen. Her eyes widened, and she looked at Kahlil for a moment, then back to Vera. "Uhm, baby, there are three beds on the floor?"

"Mhm! They all need one, so I made them one!"

Valery's hand shifted down to her stomach, and while she couldn't sense anything yet, she now understood what it meant. Her eyes filled up with tears, she slowly turned around, and without wasting a second, she stepped into her husband to bury her face against his chest while her arms wrapped around him. Then, she just cried. Not because she was upset, but purely out of motherly happiness.

"Daddy? Why is mommy crying?"

Kahlil_Div2.png

It was much needed, but he felt the same as Valery. Seeing Vera again was the only thing that'd make the whole thing better. Always would. But even he couldn't keep the calm expression as he saw the beds. Listened to what Vera had said. Her visions were.. They weren't wrong, were they? In a daze he was already trying to figure out what exactly was going on. What it meant. Older sister? Three beds? Even as Valery turned to hug and sob into his chest, he was still piecing it together.

Then laughed. Full on laughed.

"So much for only one or two more, huh?"

Vera blinked and looked at her parents. Mom felt happier than she ever had before, so why was she crying? Then her father started laughing, and she only seemed to get even more confused. To her, what she saw in visions never really surprised her anymore. She had gotten used to seeing reality that way. But the fact that it was different for her parents was still something she didn't always understand completely.

Valery, meanwhile, responded to Kahlil's laughter by jabbing a finger into his stomach. Not too hard, and when she looked up at him and heard his comment, she couldn't stop herself from laughing while she continued to cry.

"Isn't it amazing? Three more kids..." She couldn't believe it, and again tightly hugged herself around her husband to find his warm, comforting embrace.

She was going to become a mother again, and after so many years of dreaming about having a stable, happy family, she finally had what she wanted most in life.

"I think we might need to get a bigger apartment. And make all kinds of preparations." She looked up at Kahlil with her bright orange, teary eyes. "I love you so much."

Kahlil_Div2.png

Kahlil just continued to laugh that bubbly laugh, even as he was jabbed in the side. Especially then. He just nodded, glancing back to Vera with.. A proud expression. Their worry about how Vera might handle it was still something in the back of his mind, but right now she just seemed as excited as they were. If a bit confused on their excitement. He hugged Valery tight before reaching out a hand for their daughter to join.

"I love you too, Valery. So much. And you, Vera. C'here."

"I love you too, Valery. So much. And you, Vera. C'here."

Valery was practically melting in his embrace and sniffed away the last few tears before she also opened up an arm to welcome their daughter into the hug. Vera, of course, was quick to rush over and jumped up to force her parents into each holding her up with one arm. She pressed her face between them, her cheeks rubbing against both Valery's and Kahlil's, and she squealed excitedly. "Can they sleep in my room?" she then asked.

"Hmm, they might cry a lot, sweetie. But you'll get to have sleepovers with them," she promised.

Looking back up at Kahlil, Valery started to grin wide again, "We're going to need a lot more names now too. But maybe we should wait until we know their genders."

"Two sisters and a brother!" Vera answered, and Valery blinked all over again.

"Seems we'll really be outnumbering you, babe," Valery said with a grin.

Kahlil_Div2.png

"Well, at least we know the genders, huh."

Kahlil snickered, giving Valery another grin as he nuzzled more into Vera. Her excitement on this was just.. It really was a breath of fresh air. Relief, for sure. He leaned down, giving Valery a quick kiss before scooping an arm under her to lift her up too.

"C'mon, let's go have some pancakes, yeah?"

Much like Kahlil, Valery just couldn't stop smiling because of how happy she was. Not only were their plans of growing the family coming true, but their little star was excited about it as well. It brought her some relief and gave her hope that everything was going to be just fine when the babies were born.

Kahlil then leaned in close, and Valery pushed herself up to meet him in the kiss. It was brief but loving, and even Vera didn't make any sounds of disgust this time. "Hmm, that sounds like a great plan," Valery said with a chuckle as he lifted her up and carried her away. She had her arms wrapped around him, but also held onto Vera at the same time.

She loved seeing her dad just carry both of them like this.

"You know, I was thinking... I'd really like to make that trip to Keshi before the pregnancy really becomes a burden on my ability to get around easily. Do you think we can plan that in soon?" Valery asked once they had reached the kitchen. "I think Vera would love to come along too, hm?"

"Mm-hm!" Vera exclaimed. "I wanna come with!"

Kahlil_Div2.png

"The sooner the better, in that case."

He snickered a little, glancing to Valery. A very pregnant Valery on a trip wouldn't be good for anyone involved. Asides, he wanted her to be able to relax. More than anything he wanted her to be able to relax. Like right now. He'd set them both in their chairs at the table before heading to the kitchen to start to cook for them. Pancakes for sure. For all of them.

"When would you both like to go?"

"I agree," Valery said as she was lowered into a chair. The pregnancy was going to put a lot of stress on her body, and also on her mood. People around her were going to have to deal with it, so she preferred to rest and relax. She never wanted to move around and hide as much as she did during Vera's pregnancy again.

Luckily, this time, she had the love of her life to take care of her.

"Maybe next week? Give us some time to recover from Spira and we can prepare everything we need. I'll make sure Vera is marked as absent for her classes too." That last part got her to bounce up in her seat a little. She loved her classes, but getting time off to be with her parents was way better!

"I uh, really want to go back to the valley where I was born. Maybe something still exists out there..." she said with a soft smile. "What do you think, Vera?"

...

"...Vera?"

"Hmm?" Vera blinked and looked back at her mom after she had been completely in trance over the pancakes that were being made by her dad. "I want pancakes."

Kahlil_Div2.png

Kahlil paused for a moment, glancing to Valery. Gave her a smile and a simple nod. He understood. Probably better now that they'd both seen the memory. She wasn't ever going to be able to see her family again, but maybe there'd be something left for her to at least visit. Even after all this time.

Grant it his gaze followed hers to Vera, who was now seem to drool over the idea of pancakes. He just snickered as he flipped another.

"Pancakes will be done in a moment. Focus on what your mother asked you, alright?"

But...pancakes.

Vera pouted and stared at the pancake he flipped a second longer before turning to her mother. "Sorry, mommy..." she said, but Valery wasn't upset at all. She reached over and placed her hand against her daughter's cheek, so her thumb could gently trace over it. "It's okay, sweetie. I only asked if you wanted to see where mommy was born?"

The little Noble perked up at the idea and gave a big nod. "Yes! Will we see other people there?" Vera asked, but what she really meant to say was people who Valery knew from her past. Somewhere, she understood that she didn't really have grandparents or more family, but the exact details of her mother's time in stasis were a bit too much.

She had just been asleep for a long time.

"Maybe, and I'll also take you both to a more secluded area on the planet. It has been the home to a group of female Keshian warriors for thousands of years. The melodies I sometimes hum originate from there. I used to hear it in my dreams as a Padawan, and later I learned it's because of my past."

Vera's eyes went wide and she began to rock in her seat a little. "Just like on the holo!"

"Uhm..."

Was she supposed to tell him? Vera glanced at her mother for answers, and Valery caught that pleading gaze instantly. It was enough to make her burst out in laughter, and she nodded. "Yes, you should tell your dad," Valery told her and Vera seemed to just accept it.

"It's about superheroes!" Vera said.

"Mhmm, it's one of her favorites. Nothing too graphic though, love," Valery assured him with a totally innocent smile. Sure, it had some violence and lots of action, but nothing toooo crazy. "But those Keshian warriors are real superheroes," Valery then told Vera to excite the young Noble even more.

"They have stopped a lot of bad people from causing problems on the planet."

Kahlil_Div2.png

"Oh, I remember."

Kahlil shared a wink with Vera. They'd stayed up the day he came back to watch the show a little. Then just watched them talk. Yeah, seeing Vera excited was starting to get him excited. Should he be excited? It wasn't really his world, though Epicanthix did love a good warrior culture to assimilate.

Maybe he was more like his people than he thought.

"So in a week we go to Keshi. Sounds like a plan, but no slacking on your studies until then, okay?"

"Wait, what?" Valery asked, having picked up on his tone and the wink between them, but Vera realized it too and squealed to distract her mother and escape certain doom. Valery just narrowed her eyes at Kahlil for a moment, but decided to play along with it.

She loved seeing them happy like this way too much.

"I won't, daddy!" she said with determination. Valery never punished Vera if she struggled with a subject and maybe didn't perform as well, but she did reward her daughter when she did do well. It helped create a positive learning atmosphere without stress to perform.

Because of it, she always worked hard.

"Maybe we can get some Keshian toys as well. Both for you and your siblings." Valery eyed Kahlil now because he managed their credits and she didn't want to make promises they couldn't keep.

"I uh, was also thinking about having some traditional clothing made there. If that's alright with you babe...?" She looked at him with puppy eyes and tried to look pretty.

"Mommy is smart," Vera said with a giggle. She saw right through her mother's tactics.

Kahlil_Div2.png

"Mommy is indeed smart. Though she certainly doesn't need my permission to wear the clothing of her people."

She gave a small laugh as she watched them both before shaking his head. It was just like her to keep asking his approval for.. Anything. No matter how often he told her not to. He took another bite of his pancakes, snickering under his breath.

"When we get there we'll figure it all out, okay?"
