How Powerful Is Your Force User Really? P2

Our characters are both great in and of themselves and because of the things they represent. Threads like this seem to focus on the former, without taking into account how important the latter is. For instance, I created this character not as a stand alone character, but as an idea. He's not strong or powerful, he's not smart or wise, he just has ideas. And those ideas are what give him strength. So the idea my character represents is literally the power of ideas. I'm afraid I can't put it more eloquently than that, but if you've read Dostoyevsky or David Foster Wallace you might better understand.

So to play devil's advocate here, power and stength from a PvP stand point can be fun to speculate and it gives a reason for our characters to interact and struggle, but I think it means little in the grand scheme of things.

Man I'd love to be ragdolled by a force user, but ol' Jackie is nice and comfortable in space.

Now my real opinion about this is that the force is op, that is in essence what it is. But I haven't seen much stress or fatigue in some players. They whip boulders instantly, instead of taking a bit to lift it and then throw it. For heavy objects a person should be able to get in an attack or two instead of always having to be on the defence. You can't just be able to just launch powerful objects without it giving some strain on your body since the force is an extension of your body.

Now for the elemental based force abilities, I think they're a bit weird. You can't actually stop yourself from being burned to death by a fire or frozen to death if you're an NFU. Nothing will be able to prevent it especially from higher force levels. Lighting is easier to repel, due to the nature of electricity such as rubber insulation for instance. On the other hand the fire and ice are two extremes that can only be deterred by thick suits designed to prevent such extremities effecting the body.

Now there is some things that i agree and disagree with some things on both sides of your argument. Those like Myself, [member="Darth Vornskr"] [member="Xhexania"] And several others take plenty of time in doing their chars as well as the more important factor which is facing the consequences of their actions. Next comes force lightning, which i do need to remind you is not actually electricity but rather bolts of pure darkside energy, thus the rubber thing doesn't really work. Next while yes a Force user can easily handle a single NFU, what NFUs have is numbers which comes to my point where i agree with SW chaos Force User RPers tend to be a bit OP about. Now you and me both understand that we don't want to be taken out by a normal average Joe soldier, but do remember with that said, it took one fallen Jedi and a CLone army of NFU's to completely wipe out the Jedi Temple and its inhabitants. NFU's have numbers over the force users, and that is what makes them far stronger because no jedi or Sith should be able to hold back a decent sized squad. Next a real easy get around for the lightsaber blocking of blasters is to outfit a force with slugthrowers that will (Or rather atleast for those like myself and others that realize that a slugthrower is much much harder to deflect) destroy a force user in combat.

I agree, some aspects of the force are OP, like Essence Transfer. But that does not mean that all RPers treat it as an all powerful weapon that NFU's have no chance of getting around. It all depends on who the FU RPer it is that you are fighting.

I have a simple rule. I fight against a higher ranked FU, I lose. Acolytes/apprentices/Padawans should not be a match for Masters imho. I am against the mentality "my apprentice is more powerful than others/prodigy/chosen one, so he/she can fight against Sith Lords no problem".
This is a good attitude for a writer to have when they're writing a lower-ranked character. The converse is just as important: when writing a Master, be willing to engage with, and respect, characters of lower ranks. Let Ahsoka or ESB Luke get that occasional hit in, even if you're Dooku or Vader. If someone works hard and fights smart, I don't have a problem with conceding a loss, even if they're lower-ranked.

Nohemi Allaneh

Order of the White Current
Hmm. One can say that the White Current is an immensely OP powerset.

I think the only thing that really counterbalances it that is that the Order of the White Current is a pacifist entity. What manner of use is wielded by Nohemi is strictly used to hide and if that doesn't work out, defend.

Because Force lightning is actually electricity generated through the force.
Force lightning was a purely offensive, energy-based attack that channeled Force energy down the user's limbs, hurling arcing bolts of electricity from the wielder's fingertips or palms;
