Korsan was not here. [member="Korsan Rung"] was not here! Kana would never openly admit to being worried, but she was. Was it a jedi-like thing to feel? No, but if he died because of her inexperience as a ‘master’ she’d never forgive herself. This was not a training exercise, it was the real deal and what could have been accounted for as their saber combat training so far had been limited to say the least. Perhaps his previous master, if he had any, would have taught him more about it than she had. She hoped it was the case as she looked over at Aaralyn.

The Sword of the Jedi - Amusingly enough the old master to the Shield of the Jedi and Kana’s closest friend. She held back the inappropriate chuckle (for once) and readied herself to be by her ally’s side. The enemy was approaching, that much she could be certain of. However in what magnitude she could not. As the sword broadcast their message to the grandmaster she received one of her own. Korsan was in battle with others, he was not alone. A small shot of relief ran down her spine.

“Got it. Stay safe and if things get too hot you get out of there. You bail. Don’t take any chances and always, always keep your distance. Also-...” She cut herself short. This behavior was worse than that of a mother hen. “May the force be with you, Korsan Rung.”

She pocketed the device, again, and looked over her shoulder before turning around. The city was on fire as both sides of the battle set fire to the city one block at a time. She had to plan, what was her approach and how would she go about it? A direct approach felt futile, the force spoke of presences beyond her skill yet it felt like the only way she could go about it. In case things reached towards worse she would be forced to retreat and if they got to the worst case scenario, death.

Was she ready for that? No, but it had never stopped her before.

Dark Side orientation and Sith allegiance not exposed, though a Master could probably perceive the first part. Overseeing evacuation.

Railgun impacts rang out near the entrance -- someone sniping at that one Jedi. Meanwhile, Lisa Ticon had stolen one of the evacuation transports, a deception noted when the ship lifted off without the Silk employees who were supposed to be aboard. But it was more important to protect the transports with people aboard, and shooting down Ticon's transport with ion cannons would only result in a crash and the loss of the kolto anyway. That decision, admittedly, didn't come from Selka, nor was it hers to make. It resulted in large part from the fact that the stress and complexity of a full evac could catch up with even the most experienced administrators. A higher volume of evac transports, escorted by Rassilons, continued to accelerate for the sky, to join those which had already leaped to hyperspace and a debatable degree of safety. Higher volume, but lower coordination. Maybe some things got lost along the way.

In the meantime, the violence was finally actually here, less than fifty metres away, at one of the entrances. Though she was ostensibly on one side and actually on the other -- theoretically, both sides had incentives to keep her alive -- traitor's anxiety whitened her knuckles. She strongly wished she'd gotten a weapon.

Fortunately, Silk made weapons. With little trouble, she was able to get her hands on a QQ-83N sidearm and a Scanpack linked to a Lightbringer. Now she just had to monitor the situation here and figure out who to shoot.

Relaying orders to Melakoth Tyrin

Darth Ayra brought up Melakoth Tyrin on her screen and spoke from beneath the cowl of her robe. "Commander Tyrin, it is I, Lord Ayra. The Immortal has received intelligence of the enemy Metellos Frigate. Turn your attention to this vessel immediately. Leave no quarter. Destroy it."

Relaying orders to Darth Arcanix

Melakoth Tyrin disappeared off her screen. Next, the Immortal brought up Darth Arcanix. "Lady Arcanix, the Immortal has followed the progress of the enemies Dorin Corvette. Focus your attentions another vessel. Permission to fire at will."

To the fleet

"The enemy Dorin Corvette has moved to the far side of Manaan. We will leave no quarter. A Razer will be moved to destroy it."

Viper had only given a quick nod to his former masters order. There weren't many words that needed to be spoken to each other at this point. They had learned a long time ago work in tandem easily enough to were more complex orders were only rarely needed. Running just a little bit behind her, he could feel the force begin to build up within her as she lept into the fray. A smirk passed across his face as she had beat him to the same attack.

Redirecting his feet, Viper pulled out a thermal detonater and tossed it well behind where the front line of the enemy were. While it flew through the air, so did Viper. Force jumping to where Kiskla had just pushed the Yuuzhan Vong, he landed with another force pulce. The quick follow up attack right after his master sent the already faltering front line of troops flying back even further. They collapsed into a big heap. Not a moment later, the thermal detonator that they had just been hurled on top of went off, vaporizing many of the lead units as they were engulfed in it's huge (20m radius) blast zone.

His duel lightsabers came to life with a crack and then that oh so familiar hum. The initial vanguard were obliterated. But that was only a taste of what the Sith had coming up. Viper could feel a great darkness approaching. His eyes turned toward Kiskla as he heard the roar of a great beast seemingly heading toward there direction. "Master! I'll try and hold them here. You think you can take that overgrown worm down by yourself?" A playful grin flashed upon his face after making the challenge. He knew this was a deadly serious game. But he felt if one viewed such a thing with a the gloom one could possess, you might as well just give up. Viper would listen for her response and possible direction. But while doing so, he would turn back to face the next wave that was surely to be coming.

Xilo had took the time out to savor the look on the lone man's face after he shot the two security guards. It was a look Xilo couldn't get enough of. It send chills down his spine. A sick smile on his face he watched through the scope hoping the man would make a mistake. Though it seemed as if the man was giving up appearing back in Xilo's vision. Blowing upwards the white bangs that hung infront of Xilo's eyes flew up giving him clear sight of the target but he had a weird suspension. Something that made him question firing. No one willingly stood up in the view of a sniper unless they had a deathwish. This made Xilo stop taking his eyes away from the scope and looking directly at the man with his eyes.

Did this man have a plan? Had he given away his position. Looking back through his scope Xilo began spotting where the other security guards were below them and they still seemed unaware. Sweat beading on his head this made Xilo slightly agitated. This man was taking a kill from him! He was giving up! Shooting such a man would be to easy. He wanted to do things that way, so Xilo wouldn't give in. So he waited for a security guard to walk beneath the air vent before he jumped out landing upon the man and slitting his throat with the Tsaisi Magnus. It had went off without a hitch and Xilo began to make his way across the room along the way silently killing any guards who tried to impede his way. Reaching the Durasteel door Xilo stared at it for a few seconds before lighting one of his lightsabers the blue blade extending out of the hilt. With a determined expression Xilo stabbed the saber into the door begging to slowly carve into it.

The Yuuzhan Vong aqua units would go on the move, Darth Nephthus would join them as well. Down into the water they would go, a slightly glowin body due to the algae. Their objective was to shield and protect Gamma Team.

Bright crimson glowing eyes would narrow from the face breather mask of the diminutive Sith Lord. As the elite Yuuzhan Vong warriors would move, so would cover be provided by the sith carrier. Some had been struck by the Republic Forces, their blood turning the water crimson. Yet the Yuuzhan Vong were a hardy race, sacrifice and pain were as natural to them as breathing.

They were not here to fight, but to protect. Yet if they had to.

They would.

Down, down, down they would dive. Until they would turn back up, and move to enter the underwater entrances accidentally left open by Selka.

From there, they would surface.

The Rift Station was as good as lost. The explosions separating the sub bay from the main facility and the swift arrival of the Sith forces, immediately force Kian and the others onto the defensive. Kian’s lightsaber sprang to life and against the overwhelming numbers before them, it would be suicide to stay. Kian had to dodge aside many of the Vong attacks, being unable to block them with the force or his saber. The grenades were another matter, hurling some aside with the force, they exploding away from the group, but took out a number of the subs when they did. It wouldn’t be long until another volley came, and when that did, they would be effectively trapped in this watery grave.

Regardless of this, there was still the Rift to worry about. From the comm chatter, Kian had gauged that there was a submersible strike team out there, defending the Rift, and other presences he felt in the force, a Jedi and a Sith. But Kian had little time to think as the bay began to flood.

Kian felt [member="Corvus Raaf"]’s eyes upon him and he was certain she was thinking what he was. They couldn’t do much more from this facility, nor was Kian good in an underwater fight. It seemed the submersible strike team (Vaudin Miir) was handling the Rift just fine. They would have to retreat. Kian hated fleeing from a fight, but there was just too much opposition against them here.

“We need to abandon the facility as well!” Kian said making his way toward another small submersible. “Head to the surface, hopefully the Sith haven’t infiltrated Silk holdings yet!” Kian yelled over his soldier, deactivating his lightsaber and leaping into the last of the functional submersibles. Pulling out into the depths, he turned toward the two force presences he felt, but suddenly a sinking feeling hit him. One of the presences was fading fast.

Then, on his display, Kian read a large force heading up, up and toward the Silk facility (@Lisa Ticon). Feeling secure in the protection of the Rift, Kian went in pursuit. He could feel the presence of the Sith ahead of him, but more than that…..he could feel the presence of @Varus Shatterstar, his apprentice. And if Varus was at the Silk Facility, he was in a great deal of danger.

Meanwhile, below the surface things were just getting started. Selkath soldiers had arrived and were aiding the Republic forces in the defense of the Rift (@Vaudin Miir). But it wasn’t just the soldiers. In the depths the sharks were beginning to frenzy, the smell of blood in the water driving them to attack. They would be a problem for anyone in the water, but in their submersibles the Republic soldiers wouldn’t be so at risk. Then a great shadow was seen gliding through the water…...the Progenitor had awaken…..

"Acknowledged, Darth Ayra," Taeli said, turning her full attention back to the Jabiim they had been attacking from long-range. It was time to move into range to allow her other guns to reduce that ship into its separate components.

"Keep position relative to the fleet, but advance to within firing range of our other guns," she ordered, and the Genjix began to advance slowly into primary firing range. As they did, more of the ship's turbolasers began to open up even if they were short, but the ship was now oriented towards the Jabiim, which meant she could bring something else into play.

"Fire the hypervelocity cannon," she ordered.

The lights and consoles on the bridge dimmed a little as the ship charged its primary cannon, it would be a very interesting show for both fleets. The other guns fell silent for a moment as more power was divert to the cannon.

"Cannon primed to fire, lock established on the Jabiim," the gunnery officer reported.

"Open fire," she replied simply.

A huge beam of energy erupted from the Dark Blade's gun, the beam contained the super-accelerated slugs that could punch a hole through a ship's shielding and armor. As the gun fired, power was fully restored to the other systems and gunnery reported that they could open up with the other guns soon again.

The jedi were either doing it on purpose or they seemed to believe themselves invincible.... The shots being deflected back would hit but the grenades thrown and ignored would rip into the walls of the small section. The explosions created by flooding the only way out of the room that connected to the station itself. The breaches quickly getting filled by water while two of the troopers behind their vong spoke. "Do they have a death wish?" "I don't think they read the map otherwise they wouldn't want this room breached." The grenades thrown at the sub would tear into it, the walkway leading to it and sides of the room damaged now.

The troopers had their equipment and throw more grenades the last grenades while they were cut down to breach the roof above them, death in the sith was certain and they served the voice of sector five. Someone who had shown on Zeltros that even in death they could still serve the One Sith. From outside the room the teams that were working on the facility looked detecting the explosions while more water rushed to flood in. The battle lord stayed there watching it as they swam moving the sharks who would and could be controlled. The surge of water going into the bays room would compromise it further while they waited sending one of the sharks in when it scented blood.

The padawan bleeding into the water was a fresh dose of chum, the troopers dying and their own bodies making the perfect bait while she swam underneath the submersible bay and started slashing into the bottom of the sub. The sabers planned by the sith, this was a sneak attack and an ignition pulse was simple for waterproof casing with the sickly red. The other teams working on the station itself while they continued to set charges, go for the scrubbers and environmental controls. The troopers facing off against the fighters were working while the final charges were laid. Soon they would sabotage the Republic's rift station and let them suffocate.

The troopers still present at the station scoffed watching the sight, while the troopers inside were moving about and being ignored their explosions ripping across the beaches. The rest swarmed letting the battle lord go and do what she needed to do. They had orders and with everything that was happening now it seemed their previous work was being rewritten by jedi hoodoo. The main team waited under the bay prepared as the place continued to breech. The words of the battle lord coming to them as she moved with the dive suit on. "Move...." She pushed them back while the rest of the group was moving to towards the rift.

Balaya's battlelord continued while the reports came in, her men were working on the rift and base while more of the seatroopers she had were getting killed. Those fighters were a problem but she wasn't going to worry about them just yet while the priority was here and capturing the progenitor. The sub had been attacked from above with grenades, there was the oil coming down into the water and she had slashed into its guts giving the engines an slice. The doors to the flooded sections were... sealed with only ones who wanted to die opening them and the station was cut off with the sounds of the sharks getting into the breached area more and more as the water rose.

Her hands were moving before she kicked off hearing it in the force and in the water. That scream, piercing the senses and sending her mind nearly over with madness while the sharks went frenzy... attacking some of the seatroopers under her command, attacking the vong who were shooting them. The plop of the blaster harpoons as they fired off into the sharks was enough before she was grappling with one and saw it. From the depths rising up finally like an Atrisian monster movie. The progenitor had come to the slaughter of her children and defilement while the battle lord motioned with her hands.

"Attack it, subdue the progenitor." The source of the kolto was their prize and she sent a message to Hion and the others, it was here and now they could take it as the seatroopers moved in with their harpoons fitted to the grapple cables. They tied it off and fired, the battle lord pressed for a moment to try and tame the beast but only served to distract it and draw its attention while she got closer and closer. The wisps of blood in the water where the harpoons entered the things flesh were more then enough for her to see and then it was struggling. More blood coming out when it struggled to tear the harpoons out.

"Master the progenitor has shown itself, we are engaging now." The battle lord kept moving, kept fighting and pressing as they let the other troopers and vong come in. Some more harpoons to snare it and others to restrain it while they moved. She wanted to please her master and make this a wonderful showing of the One Siths strength before they started to turn their attention back to the surface. The teams up there being led had found their way through the evacuated silk facilities and it was secured the stragglers captured and taken to a drop ship for processing while team gamma was in charge of roughing up [member="Selka Ventus"].

They would not be denied that however the troopers and battle lord who had been sent were marching and using the facility as a back door to the districts. Going towards the Republic's center and area as they met the team who had delivered and placed into their base the golden ropo. The screams coming from inside meaning it had waken up and now they could see one of the soldiers torn to shreds. They had a new goal this time while moving into the base and towards the Republic's submersible bay. Use the ones they might find there to go against the underwater fighters one way or the other... hopefully there was a laser cannon for defense but suicide crashing worked as well.

They kept moving while starweirds targeted the soldiers, the force sensitive ones screaming and the single target nature of the beasts something helpful. Some had been stopped by energy shields as the vong tossed razor bugs and used firejelly sprayers to disable. Letting the creatures resume their carnage. The quick movements to the bay and three submersible craft were there as teams of two were sent in. It would make no sense to have something without a way to defend itself from the creatures underwater so assuming there was at least one gun the troopers took off going down into the water to engage [member="Vaudin Miir"] after first letting him read the Republic IFF tags.

The battle lord looked as a sub was escaping, somehow it moved after explosions, sabers and several posts of work but it moved making everyone roll their eyes before sending word. "There is a submersible coming towards the city, it shouldn't makeit but since we know it shall be prepared." The beeping of acknowledgement came from the teams that had been sent to infiltrate the submersible bays across the city and the doors were being sealed or blocked. Funneling and plotting because there was more in preparation then there was in actual gallivanting and ignoring. Traps within traps of things set to shot and blow up what arrived.

The battle lord in the Republic base made sure their door was open still as the reports of others being closed came, once closed and ready they were moving off towards the control room of the base. They had defenses to activate and new targets to set while they sliced and diced through the soldiers guarding it. Deactivating energy walls and resetting the targeting parameters while adding their own. The sith were not being targeted but everything else in the base was theirs for the taking while they started sealing doors and the submersible bay was filled with several of the vong and sithspawn. "Master Balaya, we have the base, the Republic is dying and the trap is set."

"Very good commander." The sound of the zeltron on the other end was all that was needed as they stood there looking at it, they had what they needed and sent the messages to the other teams securing facilities and kolto, the troopers still in the streets while making sure their master knew what was going on and around with upates. Reports from below had the progenitor tangled and coming to them, the real trick was going to be that. "All fores we need aquatic cages and a carrier in the water. We'll get the progenitor and secure it while the jedi talk about how great they are or something. Either way make sure things are prepared to capture."

~Meanwhile at the Legion of Doom~

Balaya was looking over what they had... well okay she was done with that, the kolto was being transported away all but one vat of it. This center was like the others and offering little to no resistance as she stood on the third floor of the room looking over it, several meters deep and full of kolto from the rift. They had the main pipeline the Selkath not Silk used, not the republic what the selkath used for tens of thousands of years before the rift and silk stations were built. They had that and could take silks at the leisure, could take the Republic's at their leisure... so what does one do when faced with a vat several meters deep of kolto while her men ship off the rest.

You jump into it of course, with the jedi offering them no resistance in taking these facilities, the sith of team alpha needed to find something to do as Balaya Scrooge Mcducked into the kolto her armor gleaming from the healing juice and the looks of her solders with her while she back stroked was more then enough to merit their attention. "What have you never seen the excitement of it all, come on now and enjoy this time. We have all that kolto going to the dropships." Her laughed was still there though while music played in her head one of the more diabolical songs ever created and you couldn't get it out of your head after hearing it.

Balaya finished up as the reports came in from her battle lords on their progress with the progenitor and the base, others were moving to the various kolto facilities and finding minimal resistance from the selkath and jedi. The fishies giving up or helping them in exchange for their lives since the other target the generators for the city were the target. The city sinking wouldn't kill them but it would hurt their trade with the outside world, make it more difficult to sell and rebuild if the sith were the only ones taking the kolto over their corpses. The dropships being loaded with Kolto and shipped off to the fleet above for [member="Mordecai Zambrano"] was more then enough.

The feeling and roar of glitter tore her attention away as she redressed in her equipment and felt the juice all over her making the small aches and pains go away, the scars from kaine and Ellain numbing and feeling good for the first time in a long time as she stretched and put her cloak back on in time to see a twi'lek arriving at the facility with her vong and Balaya spoke. "Whoa now.. and which one are you?" She was thinking about it for half a second letting her memory filters catch up while plotting and Lisa was proving more skilled then she had first thought. "You have done well apprentice, I think for your service you might even be strong enough to join the ranks of the one sith."

The grin that tugged at her face while she stood there and looked on from the window, more troopers were moving the kolto and hurrying now, they were preparing for something big and that was the major pushing while they converged on the silk facilities here in ahto city to take it. The Republic's were going to have no mercy but shipping off to one of the Coruscant offices the stragglers and if their ship was intercepted en route by rassilons and a washborne to be unloaded no one would think differently of it. Since they weren't killing them it made it easier on paperwork as well as resources to bury of dispose of them.

Balaya moved with the soldiers while she spoke putting them outside the room. " These jedi seem to have disappeared and there has been enough carnage in the streets for what we will do." Balaya remembered zeltros and what they had done once the body count was high enough, dead and dying would be her goal as she knelt focusing her energies and letting her force presence glow brightly while speaking low with a small rasp in her voice. "Mediis tenebris cadit e caelo, Et quod omnis lux tenebrae dies, Cupimus cordibus et mortem, Per manus ... nigrum, quod mortui resurgent! Tsaiwinokka Hoyakut..."

Balaya continued to meditate and raised an eyebrow while she heard the report, a sub has managed to get out of a trap that had been set up with actual effort, it just came in moved about and then left ignoring any damage... amazing she must have this god mode sub for herself and make it a sith weapon. The ones who had it well she guessed they were coming towards her and activating their god mode so she'd make sure things were set up... namely as the last of the kolto was loaded and secured for herself in this facility, that the others were secured, then the rst they were taking. As the soldiers moved the zeltron continued to meditate and chant.

"Mediis tenebris cadit e caelo, Et quod omnis lux tenebrae dies, Cupimus cordibus et mortem, Per manus ... nigrum, quod mortui resurgent! Tsaiwinokka Hoyakut..."

The shells were falling in a relentless hail as the battle continued to rage like rampant wildfire across the city of Ahto, which only a few hours ago was peacefully celebrating the city's restoration after it was sunk during the first Battle of Manaan so long ago. The resistance in the east was lackluster for a lack of better words, as a majority of the Republic forces began to bunker down towards the center and attempt to hold off the oncoming waves of Sith, Blackblades, Vong, and Graug that began to hammer into their defensive line with ferocity and might. Vornskr trailed behind his soldiers as they advanced further into the city, everything behind him a smoldering ruin in the wake of his devastation. However; the land behind him was not abandoned as the main columns passed them by, as lesser Graug laborers began to break down some of the ruins and establish makeshift encampments and fortifications, while the original landing site of Vornskr became a transportation hub for any more dropships that would be coming in from orbit.

Besides the occasional Republic squad or defensive emplacement, the only other resistance encountered was that of the natives who had refused to abandon their homes in the wake of a Sith invasion. True to his word given to Overlord [member="Ludolf Vaas"], Vornskr spared none of the Selkath that got in the way of his soldier, either ruthlessly cutting them down with his blade or allowing his soldiers to riddle them with blaster bolts. The individuals he did spare were Human or Near-Human civilians, which he allowed his soldiers to detain and escort back to a makeshift holding encampment back towards the landing site. However; those that proved too unruly or uncooperative were shot dead, their bodies left to rot where they had fallen. To be quite honest, should Vornskr have his way with this world he would scour the oceans clean of Selkath, and repopulate the world with a superior species such as his own.

However; he could not allow himself to think too deeply into his dreams just yet, and focused on the current task at hand, which was to break through the Republic defensive line. So far his soldiers were doing an excellent job at breaking the Republic's back, but it would take more than the action of soldiers to finally break through. To kill the beast, you must remove the head, and Vornskr was beginning to become distinctly aware of someone who definitely fit that bill. Without a word he broke away from his soldiers and began to make a beeline direction towards a certain blonde Grandmaster of the Jedi Order, and was not at all very subtle about his approach.

He wanted her to see him coming.

Yusan smiled as he stood next to [member="Darth Vivaldi"], his eyes focusing far down into the water as he prepared to jump down and slam into it below with the suit he wore now. It was odd for him to simply stand here and imagine things as they are now, he was attacking the very place that he was once ready to give his life to defend, all while in a new body he had spent days getting used to and exploring his new abilities with. Of course it wasn't the same as a normal body, and it had taken him a hell of a time to get used to it but now he held his saber ready and let his body fall forward as he dropped with his eyes closed.

With that he started to fall, his mind reaching out and his senses heightened as he heard the wind whip past him, the sound like a hurricane that echoed and only grew in power until the split second he hit the water where his eyes shot open. In that instance everything suddenly moved in slow motion, his hand grabbing his saber, his eyes sliding open, and the water forming around him as his breath left him into the re breather. His smile only grew now though and he brought himself back to reality and the sound of fighting echoed in his ears before he took a grappling device and shot up to the platform near everybody's favorite Zeltron, his body shooting up and over the edge as he removed the helmet and took in a long breath of fresh air. "Ahh, Balaya, good to see you again, how about we continue with killing the Jedi, no?" He smiled and watched her preform the sith magic, smiling to himself at the irony of how he would have put his saber in her back if he was still with the republic... hell he should still do so for what she has done in the past, but for now he fought for her and her fellow Sith.

After her extreme stroke of luck, Nefertari received orders to help hold the northern defense. Igniting her lightsaber as she arrived, she deflected a volley of blaster fire.
Laying eyes on [member="Korsan Rung"], she said "You look like you could use some help, young padawan"
She joined him, force bellowing a battle cry.

She faced the incoming troops with her near mastery of Shii-Cho, rendering a few weapons (and a few individuals) useless.
One person broke through the line to Nefertari, he received a square punch in the face with her left (robotic) hand. After he fell over, she turned back to the people coming their way.

"DOWN WITH THE SITH!" she yelled into the distance

The silence was almost blissful. The hot sun baked her Skerr Kyrric through the clear sky, but a cool sea breeze counteracted it. The Hunter’s made almost no sound as they ran. For a few seconds it was serene.

A scream cut straight through the silence. Human civilians, seeing the Yuuzhan Vong warriors running towards them. Most had the sense to return to their metal abodes. The Hunters had no time to stop, they had a clear goal in supporting the Sith warriors that the avatars of the Yuuzhan Vong Gods had chosen to lead.

A handful of them tried to run away from them. Had they kept out of the way Khallesh would have paid them no heed. Instead they were in her way, easily outpaced by her long, loping strides. They was a crack as the head of her staff snapped out, followed by a scream. The human – Khallesh thought it a young female, but she was never certain – fell to the ground limp. She leapt over the dead, or dying, civilian and ran on.

The silence was gone now. A glorious cacophony of blaster fire, artillery, screams and shouts filled the air as war was met. The Hunters carried on in silence, resisting the urge to scream out challenges to the enemy. They were the warrior elite, swift and silent. They dealt with delicate and difficult tasks.

They came upon a blockage of soldiers, hastily erected from an overturned airspeeder. Still, it presented an obstacle they had precious little time to use breaking through. Blaster bolts lanced out through the air to meet them. A blast bug was already in her hands, its wings buzzed in a gesture developed by millennia of genetic manipulation, letting her know it was ready for flight. Her arm whipped around, throwing it in a high arc to land on the far side of the speeder. Her hand covered her eyes from the brilliant flash as it detonated. The blaster fire stopped, giving them time to cover the ground between them.

She leapt up onto the vehicle, growling a challenge. Her staff whipped out, jaws snapping at an exposed throat. The battle was over in second, a quick bloody affair as it always was with the Yuuzhan Vong. And yet, it had taken its toll. It had taken time they could ill afford and one of her number had been caught by a blaster bolt to the back. He was alive, but could no longer keep up. Khalled gave him a final salute, which he returned, before they carried on. There was no time to deal with the wounded or dying.

"Umm... yeah, I think we need to get out of here NOW!" . "Green" shrilled and chittered in alarm, the shields were being drained rapidly. He wasnt going to last long. Shield were almost gone now, heavier impacts rocked the ship. "Shields full rear!" . Just then he took a heavy stray shoton the port upper stabilizer. The ship started spinning, jerking the ship around he actually exacerbated the spin, corkscrewing toward the Immortal, engine number 1 was now spitting flame and smoke as the astromech frantically tried to repair the damage. To all appearances his ship was done for (granted it was pretty close). but Keanu still had an wild card in his deck, plus the spinning ship would be hard to target. Right now he had lost the advantage, the main thing was to keep the enemy off balance, always guessing. "Reroute all gun power to fortify the shields" "green" chirped in disbelief "just do it "Green"! we need those shields to hold out a bit longer, its the only chance we've got!". spinning wildly down towards the Immortal he finally wrestled control of the fighter again. Pulling out of what looked like a death spin he punched the throttle forward to max. Racing towards the spiked hull full of cover and concealment to dart in and out of, he hoped the fighters would follow him instead of getting chewed up by the flak guns. He might last a bit longer.
Summary: attempting to move close to the Immortal for extra cover, damaged

An instant of pure triumph rocketed through Orcus as he watched the Nautolan writhe, then pain's cruel fingers squeezed every vessel in his body at the same time. Obsidian eyes widened in agony. The Herglic loosed one last trill, then he began to sink, the weight of his orbalisk armor dragging him down. He tried to move, but his limbs refused to respond. His veins felt like ice. The hammering of his vast heart began to slow. Funny, he never thought he'd feel the chill of the ocean's shadowed depths. But if he was to die anywhere he was glad it would be in the water's embrace.

The Sith Lord descended toward the blackness of the ocean floor, the light filtering through the water from the sun above slowly fading. Highlighted against those dim rays was the form of the Nautolan, drifting upward. Unmoving. Orcus would have sighed if he could, but he found his lungs had ceased to function. At least he died here. At least he died victorious over his foe. Perhaps here the Dark Lord could not reach him. Perhaps here he might find the eternal slumber.

It was hard to think, but he thought... he thought....

Blackness.

* * *
A sinuous orange form made its way toward the sinking Herglic. A firaxan shark, come to make an easy meal of the dead Sith. It was not large by the standards of its species, but its serrated rows of teeth easily dug into the Herglic's foot. The Selachii violently whipped its finned head back and forth, trying to tear off a chunk from the cetacean's foot. Those teeth tore through cloth and into the blubber, cutting and rending. Vessels in the foot previously blocked by congealed blood were shredded open and a torrent of crimson ichor began to flood the water around the sinking Herglic.

The blood attracted more sharks and they began at his hands and face, chomping on anything not protected by the orbalisk shells. Their eyes rolled back and they thrashed about in an ocean that now boiled with orange-white bodies and an expanding tide of scarlet.

* * *
Orcus' eyes flared open. He felt agony, but he also felt alive, terribly, utterly alive. Most of his right flipper was gone, chewed away to the bone, large chunks had been taken from the blubber around his head and neck. He could feel arterial spray spurting into the water. Pumping. Pumping out his life. How? The Nautolan had already killed him.

The sharp pain of teeth on flesh brought his attention to the frenzy of sharks attacking his body. Orcus' lungs were filled with water. He could not bellow. But he could rage.

The power of the Dark Ocean roared through him, mightiest of all the waters. Enough to drown out the galaxy in a sea of violence. And oh, how he ached to do violence now. With the strength of fifty humans behind his blows, Orcus lashed out, kicking and biting, crunching cartilage and filling his mouth with blood. Firaxan sharks died.

Those who survived swam away.

Bleeding, drowning and chewed to ribbons, Orcus swam up, a trail of scarlet in his wake.

His lungs screamed at him. He was dying, but not dying. He didn't understand. He couldn't think. All he could feel was pain.

He breeched the surface and gasped for air. The sweet relief of oxygen flooded his lungs. He sat there, bobbing on the surface of the ocean, sucking in life. Clarity of thought came back to him slowly.

The sharks had torn arteries and blood vessels, making congealed blood a moot point. They must have nearly bled him dry. And then... and then the orbalisks, those parasites covering his body, they must have healed him. He stared with wide eyes at part of the bone exposed from his torn flipper, watching as the tissue grew back ever so slowly.

A crying shame.

It would have been a nice way to die.

MEANWHILE,

The Sea Trooper contingent that had accompanied Darth Orcus was suffering heavy losses at the hands of the Selkath Defense Force and the Jedi piloted submersibles. What had once been a force of 140 strong was now reduced to somewhere below 90 able bodied troopers. The ocean was littered with corpses, some sinking, others floating to the surface.

A platoon that had suffered several losses linked up with the four Dark Water Security Herglics and moved toward the sub bay. The rest of the force acted as a rearguard.

Carach was entirely unaware some people were somehow sensing him, they were probably sensing the whale who had already killed one of theirs seeing as the Sith Lord had nullified his force presence and changed his appearance in the current. Yes, yes. Very OP. Needsnerf, probably.

The Ocean mist, even so far removed from the Ahto City and the elevated city, seemed to molest the atmosphere with every breath of the tide. The ship opened and the Sith Lord set boots upon the world, a crimson eye following the attacks from the sky and the ground. The world was so quiet and so loud, explosions littering the metal and cement playground gleefully masked as a tourist trap. The Vong set out in their ways, warriors bred for battle surging over the land like high tide upon low shoreline. Gabriel stood silent as his allies move forward, progressing towards the center of the city. Striding over to the storage locker, Gabriel pulled out a grape vine of thermal detonators and flung it around his waist. Cocking open the double barreled sawed-of shotgun, he peered towards the quality of the barrels. With a single blast of breath, he kicked out any debris that might have lingered and snapped the weapon forward, fed to the brim with the two cartridges. Their compatriots sat upon hidden bandoleer, the delivery residing now upon thigh in sheath.

Stepping down from the ship, he beckoned the force to him, a master of force speed. Like a pack of wolves held at the leash, he released his grip and let loose the mob. In a flash of sprinting prowess, he progressed towards the center of the city, attempting to avoid any defenses in an effort to get to the real show. From the depths of his robes, Reebas and Roecnar ignited in a fury, giving a blood hue to the blur that was his moving presence. Those turrets unfortunate enough to blast towards the Sith Lord would find their bolts sent back to them in the flick of a wrist as he moved from street to building and back to street again. Hop scotching through the city, he would find the connection between this place and generator room for the hyper bouyancy system. Blast doors or Jedi or Operatives, they would find themselves at the end of his blade. He made no effort to hide his signature, bolstering the sick sort of depravity associated with it to the point of being a flagship of the Sith effort. He would draw more to him in an attempt to bleed the defenses, allowing the others to progress in more effective manners.

As Gabriel found himself near the bridge, guarded by all manner of defenses, he approached the feature shielded in a black translucent shield. Bolts let loose found themselves knocking away from him either by shield or bladed interception, dancing merrily into the buildings behind him. Gazing down the bridge, towards the republic defenses, he would discern where his focus would lie. Persons...or blast doors. The words echoed across his mind as a smile crawled across his hidden face. Reaching out, he thumbed at the minds of his team, a knuckle against the melon to check for ripeness. Knowing that they resided within a veil of confidence, he would leave them to it and focus his attention upon the bridge that stood before him.

The kiss lasted forever in Romeo's mind, and he pulled her close with one arm, dropping the phoney lightsaber with the other. The Republic would need all the help he could get, and he knew he was all the help they would get. As his ex fiancée cried in his arm, and confessed love over, and over again, he looked deep into her eyes. "Shh. It's okay." He ran his hand up her back, and into her hair, and petted it. "Calm down." He spoke softly to her. The sun's rays beat down on him, and his bare chest, giving his white skin a sort of glow. He should have brought sun screen.
He pulled away some from her so he could see the battlefield, on his left side of his belt clung Shadow Luster. He never left without it. It was his sceptre to his throne in a sense. The Shadow King's eyes observed the Sith troopers coming in to take the building they were holding, and the Republic was countering. He looked up at the walls beside them, -Must be some really thick walls...- He thought to himself.
[member="Logan of Little Coruscant"] was trying to get him to come out, and face him, he wasnt worth the king's time, instead, Romeo would hold his hand up at his ex lover, and run over to the wall behind him, use the force to help him jump higher, and activated his black saber. When he did this, his blade dug deep into the wall, and he slid down it. When he finally landed on the ground, he put the saber back, and pointed the palms of his hands at the wall, and began to dug on the walls with the force, calling on it to to his bidding.
"We must push them back, or stop them! Do not let them take another inch!" He called out to the Republic troops. "Fight with all you got!" He gritted his teeth, and slowly moved his hands as if peeling the wall off, and it was doing just that. It was breaking the bolts, beams, and welding. Sweat drenched his body as he did this, and he roared out as he now fully ripped off the wall, and slammed it between the Sith, the Republic.
"I'll throw whatever I can at them to slow them down Patricia..just keep them from cross that wall!" He said as he turned to walk up to his had been lover. His eyes lift up light fires in the night, and his whole body rippled as he moved. There were reasons he kept his body in shape, and this was the reason why. Stamina, endurance, strength, speed, it all played a part in war.
"We need to push the bearded man back, and block off their way point." He looked into her eyes. "I need you to focus love, and fight. There is still hope here." He took a deep breath, the smell of salt filled his nose. "There will always be hope." He smiled at her.

The enemy had turned ponderously towards Captain Gates and his small squadron. Any one of their big ships could eat his whole squadron for breakfast. Fortunately, the Captain hoped it would not come to that.
“All ships circle away from the enemy craft. Try to avoid their front firing arcs.”
Being faster and more agile, Gates hoped to keep the enemy either out of range or at very long range where their fire would be less effective.

Still, the enemy were firing, and the Adamant rocked and flashed as the volley of enemy fire splattered across the shields.
“All power to defences. Brace for impact!”
He wasn’t sure which was worse, the Immortal’s salvos or those from the Dark Blades. Either way, they shook his ship.
“Report?”
“Shields holding, sir, but only because of the range. Shall we return fire?”
“We have nothing which can dent those leviathans. Keep on course. Keep all fighters in hangers and be ready to launch.”
“Sir, one pilot has charged off ahead and is engaging the whole fleet.”
Gates looked at the scanners. “Thinks he’s Skywalker, does he? He’s on his own. Any word from the Cornet?”
“Not yet, sir.”
Gates nodded, though inside he sighed. This day could be about to get much worse.

XXX

Fleet Command at Kuat was a place of nervous and frenetic excitement. In it all Admiral Friedrich Stahlmann attempted to be a bastion of calm, collected sense. It wasn’t easy.
“Sir, latest reports; it seems as though several other worlds have gone dark, but we’re not sure where the main enemy force is.”
“Does the Republic not have an Intelligence service to tell us these things?” Stahlmann asked rhetorically.
“Sir?”
“Never mind, Captain. What are our options?”
“Manaan is possible sir, but there are others here,” the officer indicated spots on a map.
“Have you dispatched probes?”
“Yes, sir, but they won’t be there for several hours yet to even the closest.”
“We need to know now….”

Suddenly, a female officer hurried over, excited. “Sir, message from Manaan, you’ll want to take this one.”
“Right, put it through in my comms room,” the Admiral ordered.
In the comms room a distorted picture of a young officer, her hair mussed and a bruise on her head appeared.
“Sir, this is Lieutenant Commander Dale of the Cornet. Sir, Manaan is under attack by a large Sith fleet and invasion force!”
“Slow down, Commander. Give me details of the fleet attacking you.”
“One large command ship, designation Immortal, two Dreadnaughts, two Vong carriers and several smaller ships including a portable interdiction and signal jamming craft.”
Pictures were swiftly relayed, and Stahlmann could see at last that this was no raid. “What is the status of Captain Gates?”
“The Squadron is trying to avoid contact, sir, but they’re taking heavy fire. The enemy emerged from hyperspace and inflicted heavy damage on the Cornet, we have taken shelter on the far side of Manaan to try and contact you.”
“Good work, Lieutenant Commander Dale. The Six Battlegroup will be on its way as soon as possible. Hold until you are relieved, do you understand?”
Dale smiled slightly and saluted. “Yes, sir, thank you.”
Stahlmann nodded and cut the link.

Emerging onto his bridge he turned to his XO. “Captain, prepare the fleet for hyperspace. Destination…Manaan.”

XXX

Commander Dale had no sooner finished her communication when her lookout called her.
“Sir, enemy frigate ascending over the planet’s pole, coming for us.”
The Commander straightened her somewhat dusty uniform. “Prepare for battle. Try and get those shields back online. Let’s see if we can do some damage.”

SUMMARY:
  • Republic Squadron looping away and around, trying to keep out of range.
  • All fighters still in hangers (except our lone hero)
  • Republic have received message from Manaan, will be here in approx. 27 OOC hours.
  • Cornet preparing for battle against enemy frigate.
