The last thing Ali did for the moment was pull up the tactical communications network on her wristcomp and dial in a frequency for their orbital forces. Ali knew there was a Corvette in the region that was preparing to enter atmosphere. After a brief moment, she had the vessel's captain on the line, and when he asked her what it was she needed, Ali smiled.
::I need a bombardment. Turbolasers only. Uploading coordinates now.::
After a brief moment of silence, the captain replied, ::Affirmative, Commander. Coordinates identified, strike commencing momentarily. Enjoy the spoils, Commander.::

Objective C: Taking the Garrison (NPCs determine victory)
Invaders (OS): Destroy or incapacitate the defending garrison. This is a PVE objective that involves troops. Judging elements will be based on casualties inflicted vs casualties taken. The standard writer-courtesy and writing quality elements also apply.

Defenders (GR): Destroy or incapacitate the invading troops. This is a PVE objective that involves troops. Judging elements will be based on casualties inflicted vs casualties taken. The standard writer-courtesy and writing quality elements also apply.
Objective C is a troop-based objective. Vehicles, ground forces only. Small gun-ships are fine.

An orbital bombardment will NOT be allowed.

Feel free to come my way, never personally agreed to a 1v1.

The ship in question is a Corvette designed to 1/3 scale of a normal Corvette. It will be flying into atmosphere and strafing the battlefield. It's basically a small gunship.

I'm going to allow that, and consider it air support, which is allowed. It's mostly for fun and effect, I'm not expecting you to take a gajillion losses. But with 80,000 troops you guys have squashed onto the field, I would expect to be able to douse a platoon's worth with it.
So loosen up a little bit, have fun.

Air support was not specifically disbarred. This is not an orbital bombardment, which takes place from orbit. This is from a perfectly legal atmospheric vessel. And it's a small vessel at that.

Though I could easily replace one small gunship with twenty heavy bombers, if you think that's more fair and manageable.

Bombing the planet from a Corvette no matter where it is can be constituted as an orbital bombardment. You are still hitting the planet with turbo-lasers.

This is a ground troop objective.

Don't orbitally bomb the planet, and we'll be fine.

If a ship has breached the atmosphere it is no longer in orbit. Therefore not an orbital bombardment so that rule doesn't seem to apply. A 1/3 scale Corvette is tiny enough to be gunship sized, more or less.

Ali I would just switch to the bombers and do the same thing. Will do just as much damage and they won't have a leg to stand on.

HI just need to address some stuff from Cryax's post :)

While I have no problem with you writing a team of mechanics going out to fix a comm satellite in the middle of a battlefield, where I do have a small problem is the action afterwards. If something in the upper atmosphere gets hit by a giant laser that can disintegrate a starfighter, it can stand to reason that a satellite would be quite throughly destroyed. So taking those bits and pieces that would be left over would most likely burn up in the atmosphere and even if it did come down on the republic garrison it would in no way punch through the shields or cause any real significant damage to a structure that's probably built to withstand attacks. While normally this is something I would PM you concerning something in your post the last time I did there were issues that I'm sure you are aware of, so I apologize deeply and I do request that you edit your post so that no damage is done to the garrison. If you refuse to do so please contact Republic admins so we can get this resolved in a quick and timely manner so we can return to the invasion :)
