Invasion of Alderaan, faction talk

[member="Alyesa Organa"]

I assure you that the stories are more important than the map game. That said, we would not be much of a major faction if we did not try to understand how to cope with this invasion somehow. Because it is an invasion even if you did not intend for it to become one.

Make sure to have fun with the stories and the admins will try to make something of it once its time to decide. All good.

So, when it comes to the objective of breaking the Mandalorian blockade over the planet, are they going to have people to speak with in terms of that, or is this more of a focus on the Alderaan nobles and convincing them not to secede? I was planning on having Keira show up to speak with whoever's on the Mando side of things, because I'm not sure how much sense it'd make for her to join the other delegates.

[member="Reen Lorgon"] - I'm already there. <3 We can have a race back to Chazwa though.

[member="Faith Balor-Organa"] - As far as I see it, the only thing to negotiate is a path for Alderaanian and Mandalorian military vessels to take through Republic space.

Actions of Ali Hadrix. She could have after the battle turned herself in and allowed justice to be served. And proven her guilt or innocence instead she disappeared. Smearing the Republic reputation. Republics inaction to work to show their resolve that they aren't a bunch of thugs.
OOC, there was squabbling until we reached the point where we were going forward with an organic trial. IC, She's been taken into custody about two days later, what with travel and consulting a friend before allowing said friend ([member="Keira Ticon"]) to take her in. There is no IC smear, for she has complied IC in a timely manner.

Efforts of Organa family in service to the Republic demeaned down to the attitude of and this is paraphrased, "eh who cares we will just fund some other planet"
I talked to Kay about that and your words seem to be a crude paraphrasing. "We haven't stopped anyone from leaving. At least, not since I have been around. Their leaving frees up some of our funding for other worlds and other projects. Worlds switch loyalties from government to government all the time. That's no reason to attack or force ourselves onto them." -Kay

Other than that, the reasons make sense to me.

None of us wanted the invasion. I was caught by surprise when it was forced on me and thought that people were rping the situation through threads without having to resort to such a thing. We tried to have it become a friendly competition thing like an Olympics or something to help build positive relations, but we were turned down.

As for ic vs ooc time for events to unfold, people need to be PATIENT and give the writers TIME to work on their parts of the story. People have lives and when a day or two goes by and the opposition thinks that nothing is being done, that's when tempers start to rise and stupidity kicks in.

Unfortunately the invasion gives us a deadline so we have to put everything else on hold for it.

And as everyone wants the delegation to go into a potentially hostile environment with no means of protection, I'd be very wary. Not saying that they'd have to be in the Throne room, but if that's the case then no one should have weapons to level the playing field. Hopefully the most hostile of actions will be the glaring of eyeballs and harsh words. But the whole invasion rubs me the wrong way...I really wish that we were able to say, "No thanks. Let's let this play out through rp instead." But sadly, we're not allowed to do that.

I think (NOTE - THINK) that what we would be going for is to have the mandalorian fleet leave. That should be a win for us.
But they will only do so if the Alderaneans say they want to. So much power lays un the how the writers of the Alderaan nobilty decide but perhaps a direct contact with the mandos could have the same effect.

I forgot today was the 6th. For some reason I thought it was the 5th...lol

Have fun!
Yeah, I'll try not to get blown out of the sky, or shot in the face, or stabbed, or crash. God, alot can go wrong with this.

That it could. But if everyone is on their best behaviour, then it could go smoothly! Itchy trigger fingers should be kept at home :p

Other Characters are fine so long as they join before the start date (6th of March) of the invasion, otherwise they will also require an Ally Slot.
You aren't a Master, you joined before today, you are fine.

[member="Mantic Dorn"] I'm still coming as part of the delegation, and I'd like to reserve 2,000 out of the allocated 20,000 meters for Kiribian war vessels as part of a standby reinforcement force outside of the Alderaanian system.

Just a heads up, all the Mandos who have posted seem to have an abundance of weaponry, with enough firepower each to rival our entire military. Now to me that just screams that they have hostile intentions, but what do I know? Do as you will with this information.

"Gather 'round folks, take a good look." he began. "What I want you all to take away from this is one thing: be prepared for anything. There's a reason we Mando'ade walk around with half an armory at all times. You never know what you'll encounter. You never know who you'll encounter. In these days, with the One Sith literally within walking distance of your front door, it falls on you to make sure that the Organas stay alive. That means being ready. That means carrying a few of these: Forcebreakers. Think of them as Deathsticks in weapon form: a Sith gets a whiff of this and they won't be slinging lightning anytime soon."

It just looks like a case of paranoia rather than anything malicious. They are sandwiched between the Republic and One Sith at the moment. After meeting ICily with Draco, I trust the Mandalorians not to do anything without the consent of the Organas, who have no reason to get violent with the Republic delegation.

Absolutely not. In fact, best outcome imo is that we reach an renewed alliance from all this and can put that irritating Roche invasion behind us all.

The Mandalorians have never come as honarable and "good" like they do right now, more the reason to work with them and not against them.

But you know.... stuff happens....

[member="Mantic Dorn"] My only fear is that there will be some rogue actor that will attempt to instigate conflict. There were a least a couple such types I noticed as I was reading through the Roche IC thread, though other events happened to draw attention away from them.
