Invasion of Eriadu OOC

I feel led to point out to the opposition (I won't name names.) that two things need to be kept in mind concerning atmospheric entry and whatnot.

1) If you have your stealth engaged when you hit atmosphere, you're risking serious damage to the cloak. Atmospheric entry is serious business and will light you up like a christmas tree from all the fire snaking around your ship. Doesn't matter if your ship itself is cloaked, that friction fire is going to betray your position, which leads me to my next point.

2) There are anti-air defenses, particularly around key government and military installations. There are also ground defenses around the same. It's much like how military bases in the US have guards at check points and SAM sites. This should not be a cake walk to get to these places and secure them.

The AA is sword that cuts both ways. Eriadu is mostly a city sprawl, so shooting down ships will result in collateral damage. This is something both sides need to concern themselves with. Remember sieges are usually low intensity conflicts with small skirmishes until the attackers decide to make the final blow.

Perhaps, but who would the civilians be more pissed at; the Protectorate for shooting down enemy fighters, bombers, and ships with hostile soldiers, or the Fringe for bringing all that crap down in the first place? In WWII, German civilians blamed damage from crashed Allied bombers on the Allies themselves, often to the point of beating any surviving Allied pilots.

Short of the Protectorate ships outright attacking civilian zones, any damage that comes from an invasion is gonna be pinned on the Fringe.

I'm sure its not going to matter when something is falling on your head, or something important. Its not blame thing.

EDIT: And this aint WW2.

Antera is attempting to infiltrate the old Tarkin family grounds. I admit I'm not entirely sure on OP's layout of the city or exactly how the structures are being used by the current government, I can adapt as necessary.
