No seriously, it's perfect! There are very few situations where the first side to use a weapon of mass destruction has been seen as the good guys (and I won't name those situations, because they're quite controversial and it's best to not discuss them here on this thread). We know that it was a rogue that planned this operation, but the Republic's citizens don't, and even if Agnusdei is discovered, we can simply say he sold out to the Republic and defected.

On the other hand, the outrage amongst the populace of the planets we control could lead to a demand for "retaliation"...which would have the potential of escalating the war to a whole new level of brutality.

There is, unfortunately, a problem with that. I write all my characters from that character's mindset and according to each character's personality. Agnusdei wouldn't allow his work to be claimed or pinned on anyone else. He might not allow himself to be named or to be tracked, but he would most definitely lay claim to his work and actions to take the credit that is due to him.

Dammit, you just had to be a killjoy, didn't you? <_<

jk, but still, that threw a wrench in my own plans

Well, in that case, this might help. I was in error. I got the great library and the museum mixed up. The Museum is where the hovertruck is. The Library is where Agnusdei was heading up to the roof.

I assume the bombs are on a time delay? How much time is on the timer for the bomb at the library?

Also, would the library doppelganger, upon finding its planned escape blocked, attempt to confront Albrecht to prevent him from disarming the bomb, or would it try to escape via other means, or would it just hide somewhere and wait for the dust to settle?

The bombs could be on a timed delay, or they could be on a trigger delay. Who knows? 8D

Seriously, though, probably a trigger with a timer. That's how I've always done bombs with all my characters. Better safe than sorry. As for escaping, he's on the roof. His escape path isn't blocked as the door shut behind him (I did that 'cause you two posted about 4-6 times between the two of ya and that would take time. Since he's on the top floor and was heading to the roof, he'd have made it probably just as the lockdown occured).

At the moment, he's waiting on his ride and there's a fully sealed and locked door between you guys and him.

EDIT: Just read your post. I thought I'd stated, but I guess I didn't make it clear. This is a Big Bomb. It's about a 50 gallon drum with bombs strapped to it and all around it. It's not gonna be in a box anywhere lol

My bad! Editing.

And actually, that makes the situation even more desperate. Hundreds of thousands, possibly millions, of lives hang in the balance here.

Precisely...

How did you NOT win the contest for the most evil character on the site!?

Anyways what I might have Albrecht do in the end is simply try to move the bomb away from the combat zone before it detonates, keeping the casualties to a minimum but nevertheless having horrific affects on the surrounding populous (resulting in a couple of thousand deaths instead of a couple hundred thousand deaths or something like that, not to mention countless injuries), and possibly getting himself caught in the blast, and while not killed...let's just say it'll take a while for him to fully-recover, at least physically, but that says nothing of the psychological damage.

Always nice to have newcomers to the cause. :D

Ironically, I did on TGC. As for moving it, keep in mind you're moving a bomb that is fairly heavy strapped to a fifty gallon drum full of fluid that will detonate, IC'ly, in minutes. You're not gonna get very far. Plus, you don't know IC'ly if there's a mercury charge on the thing (mercury charges will detonate the explosives on movement. They're pretty much tamper-proof).

OOC'ly, I can tell you there aren't any mercury charges or stuff like that, but IC'ly, it's something to consider and watch for. You just don't know lol

Indeed, although with minutes to spare, he may not have that kind of time, because it's impossible to move, it's impossible to tamper with, and thus it's guaranteed to go off unless there's a way of disabling it, which naturally Albrecht doesn't know...
