Jedi order talk

[member="Mantic Dorn"] I'd actually love for the Jedi to become instructors at the civilian school at least, as long as they don't use the school as a recruiting center. Of course, I also want neutral Force users from non-jedi background the opportunity to teach there as well, like the Jensaarai or Darthomir Witches. Then people like myself, an independent type who doesn't follow any particular tradition. I don't know if there are any Shadows or Guardian types that remain in your bunch, but they would be a nice addition to have at the military school.

Here is a thought. Maybe the school is sanctioned by the state as long as the jedi are there to guarantee its "light side" affinity. That way the GR holds a connection to us jedi types and the jedi have a role in the new FU school system as well as being able to teach.

Just brainstorming...

Not every Force-sensitive, who are taught by a Jedi, become a Jedi. There are many examples in canon, where Jedi have helped FUs understand their powers, learn to control them and pass on Jedi teachings, without the FU in question becoming a Jedi Knight or that Jedi's Padawan learner.

I feel that dividing FUs and Jedi away from each other creates a segregation that the Republic cannot afford. More than ever, the Republic and all of it's members need to be close. My proposal for us to begin an enclave on Ahch-To, to teach and train other Jedi, can also become the home of FUs as well, as they are helped to understand their powers without falling to the dark side.

If the other FUs are uncomfortable with Ahch-To becoming the world in which this enclave is set up- which will be for both Jedi and other FUs- then I am welcome to other possible worlds to settle down on. Yutan, for example, seemed pretty nice. But so long as the FUs in the Republic remain united, without feeling that the Jedi, such as myself and [member="Mantic Dorn"], aren't trying to lead or control them, then I think this is the best course of action.

[member="Mantic Dorn"] I'm fine with Jedi present to ensure that the faculty and student body adhere to the laws of the Republic. So there probably shouldn't be classes like "Force Choke 101".

[member="Ella Nova"] If the Jedi are willing to teach FUs to control their powers, then I don't see why they couldn't do it in a neutral school setting. This school isn't meant to supplant the Jedi, but offer an option for people that would like to participate in the Republic government, to also be instructed by non-Jedi FUs like myself. Then you guys can go home and do Jedi things at your Enclave. Like clergy teaching at a school.

[member="Suravi Teigra"]

Enclaves are schools. As I said, all members of the Republic should remain close as possible. By the Jedi and other Force-sensitives all rolled into one Enclave- one school- makes for better relations and bonds to be created, whilst helping to develop everyone involved

I don't want the Jedi remaining in the Republic to have their own corner. I want us to remain in the thick of it. That is what I would see us doing if we begun our own Jedi Enclave, rather than an enclave for everyone in the Republic.

[member="Ella Nova"] No, I don't want the school to have anything with the Jedi, even as an Enclave/Jedi Academy. I only want Jedi present in a supervisory and policing role, helping to uphold the rules of the school, and Republic law. However, the school itself should be administered directly by Republic officials.

Again, this isn't a move to shut down the Jedi, but offer an alternative path for FUs in the GR. This is a direct response the Jedi Order abandoning the Republic as their home, following a least one other large schism. You talk about being afraid of being segregated, but it's you Jedi who segregate yourselves. That's cool if you want to remain part of a separate group working alongside the Republic, but I'm not about that life, and so I don't think FUs should be limited to the Jedi route. There's nothing wrong with options.

[member="Ella Nova"] [member="Suravi Teigra"]

Well, if we set these rules, there is a jedi enclave that trains jedi but as part of their service to the republic also are tasked as supervisors and teachers for a FU school. the two will be seperate on paper but have alot in common and most likely appear as one in many instances.

I think I can roll with this and create something cool. Yes, the jedi have a supervision role but cant "boss around" the students like they can jedi padawans...

I can flesh this idea out a bit more as well...

Yes, no? Maybe?

[member="Mantic Dorn"] That's the setup I envision. The Jedi can have an Enclave as their own site for residency and communion while an FU school (civilian, and military) is established for educating non-Jedi FUs, where the Jedi will act as monitors, and instructors if they desire.

Civilian School: Apollo Foundation

Military School: Institute of Paranormal Studies (IPS)

Allow me to make a daft description to give more substance to how it could be.

But in short.

There is a Republic Jedi Enclave serving the Commonwealth. While it is to small to replace the old and far more vast jedi order the senate has issued an instruction to the enclave to oversee and help teach a school for FUs that never gave their life to the jedi ways but still show an affinity with the force.

Both groups are expected to contribute to the Republic but in different manners.

Hey hey,

So here is what I propose, but if I have missed something crucial just say so. We cant make everyone 100% content however but I hope this is a fair "middle way" and that it offers opportunities for both Jedi and non-jedi force users to be taught and find a place for some bonding and RPing together.

The Republic force Enclave!
edit-30674-1393460985-4.jpg

The Galactic Republic and the Jedi Order has long history together. The light side of the force has always been a centerpiece of the democratic idea that is the commonwealth of the Republic. The present is no different but chaos has struck the galaxy and the path of the jedi is no longer as clear as it ones were.

Times change and during the recent jedi schism the jedi order officially detached its support of the Republic and removed themselves as the Republics prime force users.
Not all jedi agreed on this and many remained behind forming their own jedi enclave as Republic Jedi under the premise that the Republic was too quickly abandoned.

Despite these jedi that remained there was no question about that the capacity of the Republic had been severely crippled. The Force during this era of chaos behaved chaotic and people with an affinity for the force becoming a more and more common sight. To not have an understanding and protection against this posed a great threat to any nation in the Galaxy. New ways of approaching this crucial matter lead to the formation of a school for force users that while under jedi supervision were not jedi themselves.

Present organisation
In the Galactic Republic the Force users form two groups;
The Republic Jedi order and the Republic Force Academy.

The Republic Jedi are strict jedi, following the jedi code of old and leading their lives inside the Republic with the belief that the ancient bond between the state and the Jedi Order is vital to uphold.
As Republic Jedi one serve as defender and advisor to Republic officials whenever required.
Jedi are not allowed any position of power within the Republic Government and are for example refused a seat in the senate. This is upheld both by the Republic and the Jedi order itself.

The Jedi has sworn to protect the light of the Republic and its democratic ideals giving them an honorary position within the commonwealth but still a body with independence toward the state.
The Republic Jedi are however funded by the state.

As servants of the Republic they are also tasked with the responsibility of supervising and controlling the Force Academy, being the neutral garants that the school for force users remain a power of light.

Inside the Force Academy any force sensitive capable fo following the light side of the force is welcome to study and the bond between the Force Academy and the Jedi are a strong one where it is more common than not to see Jedi Knight teach the way of the force to the students of the Academy. The jedi only offer to train the force users in the force powers and direct the training so that the force wielder understand and recognizes how to avoid the dark side of the force. They do not teach the jedi code although advice and suggestions on how to lead ones life in general to avoid the dark side temptations are fairly common.

Students of the force academy are more free in regards to making a career inside the Republic and students from both branches are even encouraged to seek employment inside the Republic government to use their skills and knowledge to aid the Republic.
Thus, while a jedi can never be a member of the senate, a student in the Force Academy could become one or pursue any other career within the Galactic Republic or beyond.

The Jedi Order
The Republic Jedi are organized in a jedi enclave with locations spread to a few places within the Republic. Their lives are simple and monastic of nature. They follow the traditions of old with a stern view on themselves as servants first and foremost.

The Republic Jedi titles are:
  • Grand Master (act as the front of the Order and offers a direct channel to the senate and the Supreme Chancellor)
  • Council member (democratic body of masters)
  • Master
  • Knight
  • Padawan

Within the Republic jedis responsibility lies to oversee and provide for the Jedi Academy.

The Force Academy
The Force users in the Force Academy lead civilian or military lives. They do however attend classes at the Academy to further their insight and level of skill of the force.
However, unlike Jedi, their military or civilian career defines what they are, not their level of force affinity.
The school also uses non-jedi as teachers.
Non-jedi that show promise can also become teachers in the Force Academy. Applying to the Force Academy means to meet and undergo a scrutinizing procedure with a jedi Master that approves or denies the new student and it is also a safety procedure that the Jedi approves teachers and Rector before they are given employment in the Force Academy.

There are two branches within the Force Academy:
  • Civilian School: Apollo Foundation
  • Military School: Institute of Paranormal Studies (IPS)

The Force Academy titles are:
  • Rector
  • Instructor
  • Student

While I can't officially hold any office due to my place as a Tenevi, I would enjoy being an advisor to your academy. Martial uses of the force without falling to the dark side seems to be a sort of specialty of mine.

Ok, looks like we hit something that could work. I will proceed with posting it after the weekend but now we got something to hold on to at least ;)

We need to set up Mantic finding Alexandra, Alexander is not known to be force Sensitive.
Oh, intriguing! ;). I am game, slow posting though...
