Objective: Converse

"We're being hailed. It's one of the enemy ships. They want to work together."

Work together? With Mandalorians? That was just odd. Still, all things considered, as long as they didn't particularly care to swat down his shuttles when they went down to extract people on the battlefield then he didn't really see a reason that they couldn't work together. At least for the moment. It might be useful considering they didn't have a Jedi fleet bearing down on them just yet and likely would at some point soon. They weren't there to duke it out with an enemy fleet like what the Jedi could throw at them, so it was a necessity that they exercise caution. Having the help of the Mandalorians would ensure mutual survival. That couldn't be ignored.

"Sir, I've finished my scans of the unknown vessel. It doesn't appear heavily armed, but it's carrying some weaponry that's very old and very powerful. I would advice we not get too close to it."

Leos nodded and tapped his thumbs together a few times before speaking.

"Tell them we'll work with them and that we will be extracting individuals from the ground as soon as they accomplish their mission against the Jedi. Should a Jedi fleet arrive we will assist in keeping them at bay."

The communications officer nodded and relayed the transmission to the ships that were setting up a blockade. Meanwhile, Leos turned his attention to the Captain.

"All guns cease firing. Continue ahead full to the planet and set up in high orbit."

"Yes, sir."

He didn't trust the Mandalorians so he wasn't going to set his ships up too close to them. That said, their combined forces would provide a better blockade, and his Sith compatriots would have an avenue off the planet with his ships in orbit. His real concern was when a Jedi fleet would arrive. When that happened they'd bring some serious firepower. While his ships were pretty strong, all things considered, he knew he couldn't take on a full defensive fleet with his strike force. If it came to that, the people on the planet may well be out of luck. He wasn't going to risk his forces against insurmountable odds.

Mara gestured, lifting him the rest of the distance as he jumped. "Plural's vode, voe-day - and welcome aboard, D'vok. There's a miniature medical bay with enough automation to get you patched up. From there, it's up to you. There's a Corellian Greenstar fighter in the bay; if you know how to fly a snubfighter, go ahead and take her out. If you're not comfortable piloting, I can find something else for you to do once you're good to go."

She said the last bit over her shoulder as she put aside her gun and headed for the cockpit. The Scar of Ilum could do a good few things while slave-rigged to a beckon call, but fight effectively wasn't one of them. She settled into the pilot's chair and got a solid look at the sensor data. A kilometre ahead, the steep hills veered up, covering the valley that hid the base's generators. Sparks of light -- sabres and blasters -- and little lifesigns dotted the hills, the surrounding slopes, the open land, the causeway off to her right. A diffuse battle was ongoing, it appeared.

While he did his thing, she sealed the hatch and raised shields. One could never be too careful.

The straps were burned away by the plasma blades in succession. Retracting them backwards, Kevros leaned onto his back leg. The wide swipes that came wildly for him were sloppy, something he could take advantage of. The Knives came twirling for his chest, but the smooth dodge had kept him from another wound, for now. Just as the second knife came for him Kevros ducked underneath, the once white light from his second saber was no more. Only his scarlet saber lunged towards the hunters waist, hopefully finding flesh between the openings of his battlements.

Of course, it was a trick. The second saber becoming the real threat, the first strike was a feint. Allowing the Trandoshan to either take the bait or suffer injury. What came next was incredibly fast, a saving grace in such a fight. The armor on the War-Chief should have hindered his chances of stopping it. The left arm of Kevros slid inward at the hunter's shoulder, a bright illuminating light springing back to life. The sudden ignition of his white lightsaber buzzed through the air ready to strip the repitles defenses once more. Getting rid of the dampeners was another excellent move. At such a close range not even a jet pack could save the beast before him.

The hellish flames that brewed around them started to become a problem. The heat was rising, a situation any Zelosian would hate. The curling snaps of trees and bushes caused the once lively jungle to become a sea of ash and coals. The beauty that once lived here would be stripped away in moments. The fate of them both was clear, they would suffer at the hands of each other; then hell...

Marcus pressed his back against the durasteel wall of the turret housing and began to form an entry plan in his head while [member="Brent Warnel"] and [member="Kade Kelborn"] followed in suit. He knew that they would have to be quick lest the risk of being spotted grew higher and they were eventually found. From what he could see, the turret housing had several maintenance hatches, but they were all along the upper part of the superstructure, well out of reach of the party. That left little more than one option, and the choice became quite clear after that.

"We have to climb it... If they spot us, cover us and we'll make a break for it."

With those last words giving off an air of danger in themselves, it would have been fair to say that Marcus was having a few thoughts about whether or not he should actually continue. Once he was on the side of the housing, he would be a sitting duck for any overly aware soldier that happened to take a look in that direction, and he certainly wouldn't have any cover following that. He handed off his rifle to one of the scouts that had come along with them, opting to leave it behind rather than have it get tangled in any of the wires that would be strewn about within the housing and then he took his first steps on the maintenance rungs to begin his ascent.

His heart rate increased with every step, but before long he was almost at the first access point and the small illuminated panel that would come to be his means of an entrance. His head darted left for a few moments, simply to observe the activities of the troopers who were all well sat in their trenches watching over the treeline of the swamp, and he swore that he could feel their gazes come to him as he slung one arm under a ladder rung and placed a small flashdrive into the interface that would often be used to scan ID cards or other identification chips. The interface whirred for a few agonizing moments, and then came the click as well as an affirmative hum as the hatch hissed open. He almost fell in, but managed to keep his balance on the edge of the threshold long enough to close it behind him, trapping him in the darkness of the turret housing.

He was in.

"Vode? Aaaah, my mando's been off ever since I "left" my clan. Anyway, did you mention a Snubfighter? Haven't seen one of those in a while. I'll stay here if that's alright. Nice ship my the way. reminds me of my ship. although this one's in better condition"
D'vok pointed to a heap of metal consumed by flames and smoke, that now engulfed a fair portion of the forrest, as they flew by.
"That's her. seen better days though. Karkin' mortar took it out. She'll be back though. Be right back."
D'vok ran to the first aid station with vehement speed, and patched himself up. He removed his jacket and poured some bacta in the middle of a bandage, before wrapping the bandage around his shirt, making sure the bacta was directly over the wound. he figured that would work. He put his jacket back on and joined Mara in the cockpit.
"Anything you need me to do? Figure I owe you one."

Causstik Rahn became furious as the Sith dodged his attack. The man followed up with a riposte of his own. He swung his saber towards the Chieftans waist and Causstik blocked the blow with his left, but the sith folowed with another swing towards his shoulder. Their was no blocking it and Causstik felt the searing pain as the saber began to cut through his chain mail and caressed his skin. He spun out of the melee and faced the man once more. The jungle burned around them and the heat soon began to make Causstik uncomfortable.

He used his jet packs to gain a momentary jump in the air, but the Sith's saber had done it's damage. He plumted and as he did he atempted to reload his shotgun. Seconds seemed to turn to eons as he fell. One round in, he fumbled with the second and it fell from his grasp. He closed the chamber and hit the ground like a sack of rocks. He quickly found his footing, but could no longer find the Sith. He was lost somewhere in the inferno. His tongue tasted the air once more but he could not find the scent in all the smoke. He felt his shoulder and felt a thick wetness. It had been a time since he saw his own blood. He discarded the Jet pack and searched for the Sith.

Crossk noticed the Sith fleets cease fire and nodded his head in appreciation. The combined fleets would have an easier time at their task then separate. The Jedi were to come soon and this bothered him more. "Cease fire on those ships," If the mandalorians didn't disable the shields soon they'd all be dead... The ship fleet flew into an upper orbit then The Trandoshans, which fine with Crossk. Sith were not to be trusted and dangerous to use.

Objective: Get the younglings and other young Padawans to safety.

Moving along behind her master, Xena was a bit on edge. Her senses on high alert for anything trying to get at them as they moved through the halls. She knew her master didn't want a response right now and instead was looking for them to just move. While Kheera took the lead of the group, Xena took the back. She had received some odd looks from the other younglings and Padawans, considering that even by their heights she was small. The fear from the other young jedi clouded the air around them, it made the young firrerreo frown. This was just like at the outpost, the same feeling of fear, the same sense of impending doom.

She shook her head a few times looking forwards catching the eye of a young male Togruta. The boy looked to be about her age but his face was hiding a fear of the unknown. Giving him a soft smile Xena stepped forwards "Hey, its fine. There is nothing to worry about," her voice was soft and kind. Her smile widened a bit when she saw the boy, and some of other younglings and padawans nod their heads. It was as if the calm demeanour she had was leeching off to them.

Xena seemed more worried about everything she was overhearing as others ran past. None of it sounded good. Shaking her head she remained calm, she wasn't going to show that she was being affected to by the tension that was starting to surround them. Some of the younglings were looking back to her, taking her example of calm onto themselves. If this new person could do it, so could they.

The group arrived fully in the eastern wing, looking over at the others in the area. Xena just kept close to her master, hefting up the medical bag onto her back, making sure all of the straps for it were tight. Most of the younglings and padawans rushed over with the group that had been formed in the centre of the wing. The air may have been tense but it was nice to see some of the younglings, padawans and knights smiling to break the tension.

Glancing over at Kheera, the small firrerreo spoke up "So where to next Master?" the soft smile still etched across her face. ~At least the fighting hadn't entered the inside of the temple yet~ she thought to herself, deciding that keeping positive. She was awaiting her master's move, preferring to stick with someone she knew and could fully trust.

Hands on the controls, Mara glanced back over her shoulder. "Hey. For the moment, just sit tight. I don't really have any manned gun turrets for you to sit in on -- holy FETH."

She looked back and forth between the base of the bubble shield and the sensor readouts.

"Okay, something cloaked just hit the bottom of the shield. There's a fifty-metre gap down there. I'm betting...feth. Yeah. Stealth ships are dropping Mandos in under the shield. Now this ship's about eight metres tall, so this won't be that tight, but still. Okay, new plan. I'm going to slip in under the shield and open up on those stealth ships with my ion guns. There's a repulsor pack in the entryway for emergency evacs. If you're feeling up to it, grab that pack and I'll drop you like a paratrooper so you can lend a hand down there. We split up, we can maximize our impact. You in? 'Cause I'm going for this."

"Alright, yeah. I can do that. Sounds like fun. Good plan. Got any infantry armor onboard I could use? Ah, never mind. I can improvise. If Kriff hits the fan, meet back at the temple?"
D'vok first checked in the cargo hold, finding several durasteel reinforced crates. He silently muttered words of apology, before removing the contents of the crate, and using his lightsaber to cut the crate into several plates, which he then fastened to his body, using excess bandages. It was extremely crude armor, but his jacket concealed most of it, making it a versitile asset. D'vok ran to the entryway, equipped the repulsor pack, lowered the landing ramp, and jumped off the ship. As he fell he had only one thought. "THIS IS AWESOME!"
D'vok landed abruptly, using the repulsor pack to soften his landing. D'vok wascloser to the temple than he thought as he could see it. It was far more epic than he was expecting. D'vok noticed that to the southern flank there was what looked like people. Either hostiles, or friendlies. He used the repulsor pack to cover ground quickly, reaching the temple and moving to the southern side. He grabbed his DL-44, and looked around. He could see the people clearly now, they were climbing the outside wall. Enemies, D'vok declared.
" Vode! Pas Gar! Copaanir at Ramaanar? Bic bGar Cu'ja'ge Tuur!" He yelled, discharging several shots at the Mandalorians,

"Where are they?" wondered Travot.

"They're surprisingly stealthy," admitted the twi'lekk, "but I doubt that we're dealing with a pack of Defel assassins. They'll have to show themselves eventually if they are to do anything."

Travot ruefully shook his head, "As long as we aren't too late."

"No, I feel presences...we are getting closer to some people...whoever they are."

Rol and Travot continued their trek towards the front lines. His eyes alternated from scanning the horizon to looking around on the ground before him for any signs of past movement. As Travot practiced his traditional tracking skills, Rol kept behind him, using his exceptionally telepathic capabilities to search for any signs of mental activity. Fifty meters from the base of one the rising faces, the padawan noticed paths of grass blades bent towards the cliff itself. As they neared the trail, he could make out the impression of boots into patches of the soft ground. He kneeled down to inspect one of the prints. These are fresh...but how weren't they spotted by soldiers from here? He followed their direction up towards a massive structure that housed one of base's impressive guns. A logical target to sabotage, especially in prelude for an attack. Travot turned his head towards Rol.

"Do you sense anyone by that gun over there?"

The two Jedi turned their focus towards the planetary gun. His closed his eyes and focused on his breathing before he dipped into a meditative state. While his telepathic senses were not naturally nearly on the order of those of Rol, his experience in the backwoods of the edge of civilized space had honed his sensitivity to signatures to a respectable level. His consciousness reached out to brush against the presences of more than a half-dozen people situated near the gun. He brushed his consciousness against one of them, hoping to read the being's thoughts. Yet he could only feel wariness and alacrity that could have easily belonged to one of the guards, yet with it was an undertone that he felt was decidedly aggressive. Something that he would have not expected of one of the soldiers guarding a Jedi Temple. He opened his eyes just in time to see Windroamer zoom in and fire off a spattering of shots.

"I think we're needed," decided Travot, breaking into a run towards the southern gun.

"There are enemies there," warned Rol, quickly running up alongside them, "a half dozen at least."

"More than enough to go around then."

A dumbfounded look washed over Jamie's face as she listened to the soldier speak. She was hardly the most clever girl in the world, but she did have the benefit of the security room feed going for her. The strange behavior that had been pointed out did not coincide with the man's story of discovering the thermal detonator. It just didn't add up she thought. Something truly odd was going on and it smelled of deceit. The next few seconds would be important in determining how things would go between the three of them, but something told the girl that this man had ill intentions.

"Jedi Padawan Pyne." She said, head tilted to the side with a suspicious gaze cast towards the man she had yet to identify. "There's a bomb under the terminal? That is quite concerning!" Slowly Jamie knelt to the floor from where she was, keeping her eye on Waide and ensuring that Aela watched the man until she confirmed his assessment. "That there is! Whoever slipped past all of the guards must have intended to cause some chaos with the temple's shields! Aela, you can disarm that right?" There was, of course, still the whole matter of how to handle the man that was clearly the one responsible. Though why he was doing this was still quite a mystery. Perhaps he was a disgruntled guard that was looking to make a profit selling out the silvers?

"Captain Anharl had sent us down here to ensure the generator was secure and request that any security officers available escort us to the hangar to assist with evacuating the younglings. If Aela can stay and disarm the bomb we can head to the hangar and she can meet up with us after." Aela would obviously know that Jamie's story was a lie, given that the conversation she claimed didn't actually happen, but it would buy her time to disarm the explosive and Jamie could place the man under arrest and take him to the security chamber.

She couldn't disarm the bomb.

Aela was by no means an expert in explosives. She'd never learned about them, studied them, or even really bothered with them. Who needed explosives when you had the force? That didn't mean she couldn't help however. It was only a singular thermal detonator, a device that she could very easily deal with on her won. Her fingers scrunched slightly and she looked at the small device, not stepping closer towards the man or moving at all.

She knew that Jamie was as suspicious as she was.

"I can take care of it." Aela said as her palm came up. She would yank the grenade from beneath the terminal, an odd opaque bubble forming around it as she used the force to encase the silvery orb. "You two go ahead."

She trusted Jamie enough to know what needed to be done, and if this guard turned out to have ill intentions, well she had trained Jamie well enough that she could take care of herself.

Aela would just have to take care of the explosive.

Still in transit, Arisa could do little more but stand by observing the situation remotely as the fighting finally broke out. Up until the very end, Grandmaster Heavenshield had tried to appeal for peace, but the Mandalorians would not budge. War was here.

Her intent had been to lead her airborne units on the ground while she left Commodore Perry to take care of interdiction, but plans had changed as two alien fleets had dropped overhead Ossus. They were gunning for each other, but with their allegiances unknown, she doubted that was necessarily a good thing. The Watchman would now be assuming direct command of the flotilla.

Initially, there had been no word from the naval assets dedicated to Ossus, but now they were finally mobilizing. It was strange that they hadn’t even been in system in the first place. All due to an issue with maintenance and crew rotations, apparently. A flotilla from Lianna was also on the way.

On the ground, bands of
Ysanna warriors were being mustered to assist the Rangers and Jedi at Aegis. The race of Force Sensitives were legendary for their marksmanship skills, some of the best crackshots in the galaxy. The natives knew how to navigate their lands better than any foreigner could.

General Isard looked to be the one heading to Ossus. Arisa transmitted an encrypted message to Isard and Commander Banér (Lianna flotilla) via the Silver’s secure network:

//General Isard, since you’re closest, I'm requesting that you enter the system and provide direct support to Aegis and Knossahttp://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Knossa. When I arrive, I will deploy ground forces to reinforce secondary settlements and link up with local militia units. However, I’m going to park outside the sector with the bulk of my ships as a reserve. I’ll have Commander Banér’s patrol join me.//

This force seemed too small to take on Aegis. Perhaps a case of overconfidence. The former Republic Jedi knew that while the Silvers liked to keep to themselves, they protected their own, as the Mandalorians were about to find out in the worst way possible.

On the other hand, this could only be the first wave. She would prepare for the worst case scenario.

While she would be leading both the Klatoonian and Liannanian flotillas, she wouldn’t be doing it from the bridge. She liked to be in the thick of the action to better read the flow of battle.

In the hangar, pilots ran through pre-flight checklists, many of them ex-Republic vets like her. She joined them, taking her seat in a refurbished A-Wing. Not quite as nimble as her J-1, but the interceptor still performed quite admirably, especially in Jedi hands. The dual turreted laser cannons and EWAR package made the A-Wing particularly deadly in dogfights.

“You’re making Jill jealous.” She leaned over the cockpit to find Warrant Yates underneath, the grubby mechanic reeking of hydraulic fluid. Vainly he tried rubbing his stained hands clean with a rag.

“Jill needs some work,” she answered, glancing over at the veiled J-1 across the aisle.

“You need to get back at me on those upgrades, then.”

“I will, just as soon as I help see our friends back to Keldabe.”

“I never thought I’d see the day. Sith stalking Silvers like crazy exes is one thing, but the Mandos?”

“They are a contentious people.”

Waide could see their suspicion as he paused. He watched as the Jedi Master pulled the detonator out from beneath the terminal and encased it in a bubble. His eyes widened a bit.

"Will that take care of it?" He asked, his voice rising in mild incredulity. He then shook his head and laughed before turning to Jamie Pyne. "Pleasure to meet you Ms. Pyne. I'm Private Waide, a Ranger Irregular from Lianna, I arrived today..." He said, mixing in part of the truth with his lie. His eyes went back to the thermal detonator for a moment as it continued to count down. Once again, his fear was real, but the detonator wasn't the reason. He'd failed at his task of taking out the shields. He could attempt to reach one of the other detonators, but blowing one of those wouldn't take out the shield, and he would die for nothing. No, he needed to exfiltrate now. Luckily the Padawan had given him a way out, though he may still have to fight to escape depending on what she had planned. The only thing to do, however, was to move forward.

"I was told to make sure someone stayed in the room while the exterior guards were reinforced. If Master Aela" He nodded at Aela "can stay, then I can help escort you and any younglings." He moved towards the door a few steps, then turned and looked at Jamie Pyne and his eyes widened. "This is a possible point of attack, you didn't bring them here did you?"

He knew he was stretching his acting skills to the limit, but if he was going to get out of here, he needed to pull as many tricks out as he could.

He dawned the old Immortal armor he gave her when he broke her free of her prison a while back, He destroyed the other armor and his dauntless blades. He kept his two lightsabers and the dagger that was given to him, He stayed with joza and ignored her remark and got himself ready to go. Haven't joined but only a few days and already being thrown into combat.. heres hoping the pink vixen doesn't shock him with that damned braclet in the middle of combat other wise he will have words with her...

Jamie nodded to Aela, then to Waide. "She'll stay. Make sure everything is secure. I'll need your help with the evacuation Private Waide." Jamie turned from Aela, walking alongside the soldier towards the door which they had just come through. "No. The fighting hasn't reached us yet. That's why we need to make haste. We haven't got a lot of time." For the moment the blonde would have to play along with the man's ruse and pretend as if she wasn't overly suspicious in order to give Aela the time to deactivate the detonators. "But we'll need to be ready just in case." the Padawan unlatched her weapon from her side, though it remained off with no intention of actually activating it. There was little fear that the man would get the jump on her with his blaster walking down a corridor before she declared his arrest.

What she was really after was an explanation as to why he was sabotaging his own people. But there was plenty of time for questions later. Jamie pushed open the door to the corridor, peeking her head out and taking a quick look around. No sounds of fighting could be heard in the immediate area, and no hostile troops could be seen. "Looks clear still. Let's get a move on Private." While the girl was aware that Waide wasn't who he said he was, she had no idea whether or not any additional enemies, invaders, or hostiles had made it into the temple as of yet. And with no way to confirm at the moment, all she could do was hope to at least apprehend Waide before anything else crazy happened. "See you soon, Aela." Her tone was soft, a warm smile on her face as the door slid closed behind them.

Shots smacked into the ground near Dariak and the Tal'kad Verde, kicking up clumps of dirt and grass. So. They had been detected. Or not since the shots were more inaccurate than he had thought so they were probing. The scouts broke formation to turn towards the incoming threat but remained stealthed and refused to return fire. For now their inability to be detected properly was their greatest ally. Lose that and they'd have to fight in the open fields. He could see the enemy targets in the distance where the shots had come from. Two targets. [member="Travot Ravenna"] and another.

He opened up his comms for [member="Marcus Lok"] , @Brent Warnel and @Kade Kelborn to hear. "We got incoming shots. You better start slicing that gun to start doing some damage. There were a few features that even stealth technology couldn't cover completely. Sounds, for instance, could only be muffled so far, especially for space-faring vessels large enough to carry large groups of soldiers. It didn't help that it was flying so low...even with the din of battle the sound was clearly audible. Even though they couldn't get an exact location, they knew it was there.

Of course, there was also the Force.

The soldiers immediately around the Orar'uliik vessel poured surprise into the Force before their lives were ended. That gave Audren a location. Unfortunately, it was not too far off. The Jedi set off the alert, fully aware of the effects of the action. The lockdown, the reorienting of soldiers' attention. The losses that had already been incurred, those that would be incurred. The hope was that the casualties would be fewer with the alert than without. It helped, of course, that Jedi would also be wading into the fight. Most were experienced in battles, some more than others.

The Sephi himself was also joining the fight. He wasn't one to stand back and allow others to fight while he directed, that wasn't his strength. He left that to those who were trained for it and strode right in. Rather than his lightsaber however, the Master had unsheathed two blades that had been crossed at his back. They'd been delivered to him by an unknown party, and after undergoing intensive scanning - both technological and via the Force - he'd added them to his personal armory. They reflected blaster bolts that headed his way, at different enough angles that he couldn't really intentionally reflect the bolts back at the shooters. Especially not at the speed he was moving.

The warrior shooting at him was felled by a sniper's round mere meters before the elfin Master reached him. The grunt who tried stepping in from the side and swinging some sort of club, however, got to feel the sting of the blades. As far as he knew, the first to feel that sting. The club was ducked and one of the long daggers pierced through the man's armpit and deep into his heart, then withdrew almost instantly. The blond didn't even slow, moving on to the next in line. A longer sword was brought down in a powerful strike, which was met by both blades rising up. But not to block the descending blade. One of the daggers effortlessly sheared through the woman's wrist, protected only by armorweave as it was. The falling blade toppled almost harmlessly over his shoulder, while his other rising blade pierced through the bottom of her chin, unprotected by the gorget. The blade ripped through tissue and into the brain, biting deep and even wiggling a bit with the angle.

Yet again the blade was withdrawn quickly, before it had done more than scrape the inside of the skull. Another warrior, coming from the other side, abruptly lost his head from the whirling blades...the Rodian hadn't invested in a gorget and now would never get the chance. Almost absently, one of the daggers angled slightly to catch and reflect a blaster bolt as the Jedi's eye was caught by another Mando. This one he could see...but he couldn't sense. He - she, maybe? Who knew, who cared - was carrying some sort of pack, a far cry from the traditional ysalamiri nutrient frame yet obviously having the same effect. The information was succinctly relayed into the comm band at his neck.

"Ysalamiri effect present."

Then it was on to the next Mando in line.

And still the guns with targets kept firing, kept whittling away at the enemy forces. The carrion would feed well, no matter who came out victorious.

Allies: SJO
Enemies: Mandos, Sith, various anti-SJO people
Equipment: Rag, flammable cleaning fluid, assorted tools, plasma cutter
Droids under his command: 500 IX-6 Combat and Security Droids

The Verpine had made his way over to the command center to begin his shift. While an independent contractor he had requested access to Jedi data in order to begin design on a autonomous armoured vehicle. If he could get the correct chemicals for the main gun he hoped it would be able to shoot flames up to one thousand in an arc allowing for the clearing of forests and buildings with minimal loss of life on the friendly side.

As soon as he'd entered however the alarms had started going off. Sitting down at an empty station he quickly brought up the alarm system. Enemies were apparently detected on the perimeter. That was unusual and while he wasn't a military commander he got to thinking. The most obvious enemy was probably the Mandalorian clans, considering their less then pleasant recent history with his current employers it made senses. The question was though how had a large force made it planetside without being shot down. If they had arrived in stealth ships then a large fleet of them probably would have been detected fairly quickly which meant that this couldn't be that many.

Reaching down he pulled his datapad out of his pouch and connected it to his current station. Tuning out the bustle of the command room he activated a hundred of the droids. Watching their start up progress with one side of his eyes he looked at the main screen in front of him. Bringing up the main base schematics and surrounding area he began inputting orders to send as soon as the droids booted up.

A short time later the droids were formed into three blocks of thirty droids each. Sonic blaster rifles and light cannons charged they sent messages between each other sharing intelligence. Their sensors picked up blaster fire near one of the forward gun positions. Receiving orders to reinforce thirty of the droids quickly made their way through the defenses fanning out into three squads of ten two began to flank while the third marched straight towards the gun position lining up with the Jedi ([member="Audren Sykes"]). Lowering their T-21 Light Repeating blasters they began to lay down a deadly accurate barrage as they marched forwards. While unable to detect stealthed Mandos their ability to lay down a barrage of high caliber blaster fire with Verpine like precision meant the likelihood of hitting a friendly extremely low.

Seeing armoured bodies that didn't match with known SJO or allied forces the droids began concentrating fire on individuals. Once targets were communicated between all the droids they coordinated so every two droids aimed at one target. Dropping their duel SG-82 Sonic Rifles they opened fire dramatically increasing their fire power as the two flanking squads pressed in towards the middle. The whole time the droids maintained a steady march forwards.

The IX-6's had arrived fairly quickly. Sixty of them in total split into two large groups. Spreading into a line they began to march towards where the friendly troops where shooting. While one line wasn't very thick it allowed for length and would let them get more guns on target. While their compound photoreceptors failed to pick up the enemy the enemy was undoubtedly somewhere in front of them. If they had to they would march about a hundred or so meters into the jungle to secure the local area.

“Ma’am, the ships that entered orbit are setting up a blockade.” Anaya waved a hand dismissively. “Ignus can deal with them, our concern is what’s happening on the ground. I have ears among the mandalorians yet?”

As if in response to her question another panel lit up on the display, the mandalorians comm chatter exploding into the room, their harsh tongue making Anaya’s lip curl. She turned her gaze slowly towards the comms officer who paled slightly. “I can translate it, Ma’am.” she said hurriedly turning back to her console.

“Look.” the Captain stepped forward, zooming as three of the mandalorians ships blinked out of existence on their sensors. Anaya tilted her head. “Destroyed?” the captain shook his head. “Anti air guns haven’t triggered, they must have cloaked.”

“They’ve begun their full assault, northern side of the base.” called another officer.

“Finally.” Anaya rolled her eyes. There had been small pockets of fighting, testing of the defenses but finally they had thrown themselves at the bases defenses. “Comms?” she asked, the officer shook her head. “Just a lot of chatter, ma’am, no indication of their plan.”

“Keep listening.”

“Ma’am, Lord Ignus has joined forces with the blockade.”

Anaya laughed. “Clever boy Ignus. Jump us into orbit, keep our weapons powered down, but our shields up. Last thing I want is for our temporary allies to get trigger happy, if they do, let’s make sure we are out of range. Rescan that base, I want to know where those fighters went!”

Calina was pacing. Itching to get into the ship and to rain hell down on Jedi and Mandalorain alike, never before had she felt such a burning desire to kill someone who wasn’t her mother. The mandalorians had held her captive for a long and very cold year, she would see them pay for it.

“Y’know, the more I think about it, the less I like this plan.” piped up a mercenary.

“Stop thinking about it then.” Calina retorted, her feet coming to a halt as she spotted an officer from the bridge running towards them. “Mandalorains have started to appear under the shield.”

“What? How?”

“We’ve rescanned the base, looks like there is a gap between the base and the shield, about 50 meters. The Lady Fen wishes you to launch your attack now. Adjust it as you see fit.” The officer saluted before bounding away again to return to his post.

“You.” Calina barked pointing at the merc who’d been complaining. “Get yourself in a fighter. You’re my wingman. The rest of you, get in those transports. 50m is more than enough space for us to get in.”

Calina herself bounded for her mothers favourite ship. An aleph class starfighter, built for the best of the sith pilots in the days of the empire. As she climbed into the cockpit and slipped into the chair, the comms chirped at her. “Are you sure you can fly that thing?”

“Nope.” laughed Calina, as they powered up and moved out of the hangar and streaked towards the surface of Ossus.
