Journey to Gamorr

[member="Tormax Ategann"]

The strike aimed at the knees had connected, and given another vertical edge to the Arue'tii, but he found that the consequence of the successful blow was that the more damaging and lethal strike would miss it's mark by infinitesimal distances. Though it meant that the fight would drag on for another round, Abelain was not even close to nearing exhaustion and was in fact savoring the conflict in a savage way, further excited by the grunts and cheers of the gathering crowd of Gamorreans. There was a fair chance that Tormax would slip up eventually, and find himself promptly crippled; there was almost no chance that scenario would impose itself upon the Arue'tii, especially with his chitinous hide to protect his vulnerable innards.

It was expected that at some point, Ategann would fling another stall towards him, reusing a strategy that he had found viable previously. That was basic logic, however it was misconstrued if one considered that the target for the throw was also learning from past mistakes. When the stall creaked and flung through the air, Abelain lurched to the side, grasping at it's wooden side for a short moment before using it's momentum to twirl around it, avoiding it at the cost of leaving himself open from an attack to the back, and incidentally giving Tormax precious moments to begin his expeditious retreat. The vibroblade humming through the air struck into his back, rending the cloth of his cape and forcing it to drop completely from his back, tattered and ruined. It left the slightest mark upon the chitin, not nearly as serious as the black char that was created when it came into contact with lightsabers, but still attention worthy.

It had taken a surprising amount of force even to mar the blue chitin, and that simply proved that Tormax was much stronger than he seemed to appear; an ample reminder that he was given a stimulant exclusively for the purpose of eradicating difficult targets. Finally, Abelain spun around, watching as his foe made an expeditious retreat whilst he personally had been distracted with the errand of avoiding pain. The cheering in the crowd seemed to die down as they realized what was happening, and suddenly Abelain had a splendid idea. Deactivating the lightsaber and attaching it to his side, he pointed at the retreating figure and shouted angrily towards his fleeing opponent, "Stop the coward! He runs from a duel!"

Young boars; already excited from witnessing the gladiatorial-like combat, rushed forward towards the retreating figure, several of them pushing through the crowd in an attempt to capture the coward and earn themselves some honor from assisting in the 'official' business of dueling. Naturally, most of them were slow, ill equipped, and far too young to be of use. However, as the Arue'tii began to run after his quarry, he took heed of a pair of particularly large tuskers wielding a pair of training axes, and stepping into the path of the fleeing person with snorts of challenge.

If all went well, they would delay Tormax long enough for Abelain to retrieve him.
