Judge Discussion

Alright, so I'm officially back now. I'm at home in my computer chair with children chasing a cat, so that's a pretty good indication I'm home. Thanks for keeping things running while I was gone.

First order of business: when does round two close? I know we're getting close to two weeks, but I'm not sure exactly where we stand. Secondly: are there any challenge matches ready for judgment? Thirdly: is it too early to start drinking? Because I could really use a drink.

I would like everyone here to know that my primary computational device will be confiscated come Thursday, since I'm graduating this year. Until I find an adequate replacement, I'll have to rely on a crappy tablet screen for my writing needs :/

Ain't that about a queen. If you've got time to judge the Dominik/Adi fight before they gank your laptop, please do. If not, it's all good.

Alky, you want to handle Galen vs whoever he was fighting? I'll grab Inky's fight, since it's been forever since I had a chance to make fun of him in public.

For the next fight, I want to put Aya up against the winner of Galen's fight, and if it turns out that Inky and Adi are the winners, they ought to fight. Partly because I want to watch Adi squirm, but mostly because I want to leave the other bracket open to someone who hasn't stood in a championship bout.

Side note: depending on how the judgments shake out, there's a better than decent chance the last four fighters will all be JvS transplants.

Alright, in the Inky vs Jynx fight, Inky advances. He scored the only hit, and it looked like Jynx was going to have too much trouble dealing with his projected fighting to have a chance at victory.

As my last act of typing on my Chromebook, I proclaim Adi as the victor of his match.

I was rooting for Dominik as my fellow teched out NFU, but unfortunately, he did a silly and knocked himself through a TIE fighter, conceding unarguably the biggest hit in the match.

He also technically conceded the match verbally in the IC when Adi asked them to stop and go get a bear, but I didn't include that in my judgement.

Alright, I guess I'll go turn in my chromebook now :/

Read it over last night, chewed on a few things. I don't intend to penalize him, but I want to heavily warn Galen about how he wrote. Some of the hits bordered on called- one in particular, where he continued in the next paragraph to basically say "he didn't have time to tell whether it hit."

The language is dicey.

But he didn't do anything to change the outcome of the fight drastically.

Essentially I'm running this by you because I don't want to come off as the hard ass brigade.

Alrighty. Now that that's finished up, I reckon we can start the next round Tuesday, in order to give the Americans time to enjoy their long weekend.

For semi-finals, I'm thinking we need to mess with Inky and Adi hardcore. I know with a certainty borne from the deepest, darkest pits of my soul that they've got something planned to screw with us. So I'm trying to think of a way to subtly screw with them. Maybe make them fight in a cramped hallway where they can't stand up straight or something, idk. Any ideas?

That would just give them stuff to throw at each other. I'm thinking sewer, with dangerous concentrations of methane. Any sort of explosion can set it off.

Also, since Aya will likely be at MEPS the next couple of days, I'm thinking Friday looks like a good start time. Any objections?

Don't think I haven't considered Myrkr. All things considered, however, I don't think that would be a wise move. Screw with them a little and it's all in good fun. Screw with them a lot and that's how feelings get hurt. Not that I think Inky or Adi would be too butthurt, but it sets a bad precedent. Plus, we have to make sure the other match is similarly handicapped.
