- Description: The Mirrorborn Order is a clandestine, ancient Force cult centered in the Aviprine region of Ansion. Though its origins are buried in myth and fragmented texts, the Order believes that the Force is not a singular current, but a duality of reflection, light and dark, self and shadow, each soul with a mirrored counterpart. To them, true enlightenment is not found in purity or dominance, but in embracing the other half of the self.
- Membership: There are two primary paths into the Mirrorborn Order:
- The Called – Individuals (often Force-sensitive) who show signs of being "mirror-marked" (visions, emotional dissonance, dreams involving reflections, twin imagery, etc.).
- The Seekers– Scholars, mystics, or outcasts who encounter the Order through texts, local myths, or recruitment and seek answers the Jedi or Sith could not provide
- Rules of Membership:
- Secrecy is sacred: Members are forbidden to reveal the true nature of the cult to outsiders.
- Mirror Balance must be kept: Members who drift too far into either light or darkness are subject to reflection trials.
- Twins are sacred: The Order reveres Force-sensitive twins and will never harm them without ritual cause. Instead, they are groomed or tested over time.
- Motives: Their ultimate goal is to tear the Veil open, a metaphysical act that could reshape the Force itself, or unleash horrors no one understands.
- Rules and Teachings:
- Core Beliefs:
- Every living being has a mirror—a twin soul, a hidden self, or a literal counterpart.
- Balance is not suppression, but reflection—to become whole, one must confront and unify with their mirror.
- The Force has a Veil, separating the seen world from a hidden one, a realm of reflection, memory, and echo. This Veil can be breached only through sacred rites or destined souls.
- A prophecy speaks of Force-sensitive twins born under twin moons who will unlock the Veil and awaken the Reflected Force, a dangerous and powerful current untouched by Jedi or Sith.

- Openness: Very Secretive

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
"The eye looks outward. The soul looks inward. The Mirror shows both."

The Mirrorborn Order traces its origin back to the pre-Republic era, in the early days when Force-sensitive societies were just beginning to form across the galaxy, before the Jedi and Sith were clearly defined, during a time of philosophical diversity and spiritual experimentation. The Order was born on a now-lost world (or forgotten moon) whose name was lost to time, in a region rife with Force anomalies and reflective crystal formations. The founding figure was a Force mystic known only as Velari the Reflected, who claimed to have crossed a barrier within the Force and returned "twinned and whole." Velari taught that all sentient beings carried mirror-souls, and that the Force existed as a great cosmic duality, a Veil separating the Seen from the Reflected.
The Mirrorborn did not see light and dark as good and evil, but as two necessary lenses of the same cosmic truth. Members were trained to confront their "Other," a shadow or twin self that existed across the Veil. Through intense rituals and meditations, they sought symmetry of being, rather than mastery or submission.
At their peak, the Mirrorborn established sanctums across scattered systems, often in isolated places where reflective materials (like crystal caves, still lakes, obsidian fields) were abundant. Their most sacred site was the Sanctuary of Dual Moons, rumored to rest on a moon of Ansion, where a rare celestial alignment would cast twin moonlight and thin the Veil.
Their downfall came not through war, but ideological conflict. A schism emerged between those who sought balance through reflection and a radical faction who believed in true merging—the literal fusion of self and mirror to become a Reflected Ascendant. These extremists experimented with identity inversion, body-hopping, and dangerous Force rifts. Many went mad or or became twisted beings torn between selves. This schism caused the cult to fade into obscurity and exist only in anxiety texts on Ansion.
