Looking In All The Wrong Places (Hanna/Kamon)

"We should look for him..."

If they could get Corbin back then they'd be complete. The three of them. Their parents were dead, gone for good, and there was nothing they could do about it. But if they could all three be together again, it would be good for them. They just needed to find a way to somehow make it happen. That meant they needed to go in search of their brother, which was a risky proposition. They could look for information, though.

"Father was a pure Echani. Worked his way through the CorSec ranks. He'd been trained here from a young age, but decided he didn't want to stay here. His calling led him to Corellia. Our people are warriors of the highest class. They fight with bladed weapons, largely, and prefer speed, agility, and stealth to brute force. It's why I make such a potent swordsman.

"We worship the moon, as it gives us life. The Thyrsians, our dark skinned brothers, worship the sun. But our greatest gift is the ability to speak through combat, and to read an opponents moves. That, coupled with our control of the Force, makes us extremely potent against evil forces, Kalia. If you want to learn, though, you should learn from one of the full Echani. I can train you to the best of my ability, which is considerable, but I think a Jedi Master would be better served learning from someone without the Force."

"Yes, we should I don't even know where to start. We tried on the black market even to see if they were selling him long ago. I would think underground would be the best place to start in the criminal circles. I could ask Zak and Cody to help me out with that. I doubt anybody down there would tell me anything nowadays." She was far too wrapped up with the Republic to be trusted down in that place anymore. It wasn't as if she could just go undercover either as her position was quite well known and that didn't even take into account John's. Criminals if she was remembering correctly kept on top of the goings ons of the galaxy.

"It's a little funny as I am so not a warrior but instead I'm a healer. My light saber skills aren't what others are and I don't think I have ever picked up a sword before. It's ok though as I can of course defend myself well enough. When I get the time I do want to learn though from a full Echani." She just had so much going on and Kalia couldn't bare the thought of training verses spending time with John and the children. She really ought to tell him about her own little family but she hadn't yet for one reason or another. Perhaps it was just she wasn't sure how he would take it and she wanted to tell him at the right time. She wanted her brother to be accepting of it. It was silly thought that she was nervous as to how he would take that. She was a little surprised though that he hadn't seen the ring though and asked himself about it.

"My place with with the Republic though and you wouldn't believe how busy that keeps me."

"I bet I would. I was on the Council until recently."

The reason he hadn't noticed the ring was that he wasn't staring at her hands. He had been so focused on her face because he hadn't seen her in so long. Looking at her face told him that she was really there. Even then he wouldn't know that she had children. She was going to have to broach the subject on her own, and tell him what was going on in her life.

They walked up to a home that looked like most of the other cold weather dwellings. He stared at it for a moment before he turned to look at her and Hanna once more. They'd arrived.

"Your place is really here, but I understand. Either way, this was the house Father was born in and grew up in. Our cousin lives here now, but I think she went to Null at the Council's request."

Hanna was looking over her new sister... when she noticed something... She had a ring on the same finger she did... " Kalia.. Are you married?" She said... holding tight to Kamon, as it was cold, despite him being boring... she would cling to Kalia but right now.. she needed heat.. and she felt that she might not be near as comfortable with her clinging. She waited to see the reaction from Kamon.. and the anser from Kalia... she was intrigued.. chances are she was.. and since that was the case that meant that she had more family... she was really beggining to like Kamon's family.

Kamon blinked at what Hanna said.

"Why would you ask that?"

And then she was clinging to him and he followed her eyes down to Kalia's hand. And there was a ring on that hand. Lifting his hand he pointed to it, eyes wide.

"Are you fricking married and didn't tell me?! How long!? Do you have kids?!"

He was a bit over excited, chiefly because he'd just been clued into the fact. This meant that his big sister was a step ahead of him in the marriage department, and it meant that he needed to seriously grill a husband somewhere because that was NOT an engagement ring.

She was going to say something but well it looks like she wasn't going to get that chance. They had figured it out on their own it seemed. "Yes, I am happily married. John and I have been together for about 22 years now. We have three beautiful amazing children. He's an Admiral in the Republic Navy and a loving wonderful husband and father. I'm so lucky to have found someone so sweet and loving whom makes me feel special. He's my best friend, my home, my soul mate. I can't see myself without him." Kalia couldn't say enough good things about him. She could go on for hours but nobody wanted to hear that from her. They hadn't been married for 22 years just together that long.

"So as you can see my place is at the Republic with John and the children. When he gets back from deployment you should meet him. I think you would like him and I know he will want to meet you." She hoped that her brother would get along with her husband. It would mean a lot to her. John and her adopted family had gotten along so this shouldn't be too bad hopefully.

Hanna smiled " That sounds wonderful! I am going to be an aunt.. Kamon.. Kalia.. you both have so much... I just hope you don't mind me in your family.. I am so much younger... I mean... your kids could be as old as me... " She said... clinging tighter to Kamon, She normally didn't let it get to her.. but it was a fact.. Hanna was bothered by the fact that one Kamon had kids 2 years her younger... and now her nieces and nephews might be older than her even.. it was awkward.. and she realized what people must think about her and Kamon.. he was double her age. She hid in Kamon's cloak, She felt weird.. she loved Kamon.. but did he really love her... of course he did.. she knew that but it was easy to forget when looking at their obvious age difference.. It would always be an issue, she would have to get use to it. She felt foolish.. she came out of his cloak again.. feeling brave again after self rationalizing. yet inside she was still self conscious

For a few moments Kamon just stared at Kalia with his mouth half-open. Then he closed it and took a deep breath in through his nose. Sliding his cloak off, he wrapped it around Hanna and kissed her head.

"You're fine, Hanna. I love you."

Then he held up a finger to ask for a moment, drew the Force in, and sped far away from them. In fact, he sped off far enough away that there was no way that they could even see him. Kalia could probably feel him, so she'd know he was alright. He went off far enough and then stopped to let out a huge yell of frustration, and then doubled over for a moment and sucked in air until he felt calm. Only then did he speedily make his return to the two of them.

"Ok then. I'm an Uncle. You just found out that you're an Aunt. It's fair enough. Ties you more to a place that might come to be a problem for the Compact in the future, no offense Hanna but it's true, but that's alright. We'll deal with it. Anyway. Where were we?"

He turned to look at the house.

"Right. Dad's childhood home..."

"My kids will love you. I know it."

Kalia couldn't help but be a little hurt by the way he reacted. It almost seemed to her as if he didn't care at all about her family and in fact their loyalty to the Republic she loved was an issue. His dismissive attitude irked her but she held her tongue for now. She did want to try and get along with her brother.

"I never knew dad grew up here. It's really cool to see apart of my heritage as really I never have known much about where I came from. I have always been a little curious though you know and now I know. My husband will want to meet you. Would you want to meet him?"

She wanted to know so she knew what to tell John. It was important to her they meet and get along but Kalia couldn't make her brother do anything he didn't want to do. If they did get together Kalia would obviously be there incase of any trouble. She wouldn't leave him with a Jedi Master even her brother. She was very protective of her family.

Hanna glared at Kamon... She didn't say anything but it didn't take much to know she was peeved at him. She grabbed Kalia's hand and attempted to storm off.. back towards wherever they had come from, She knew he was dealing with a lot.. but ignoring the subjects was hardly the answer.. The whole reason she grabbed Kalia's hand was because she hoped that Kalia wouldn't let her.. Hanna knew she needed to be here.. but it just was that Kamon handled it badly and it hurt her.. that was all he had to say about her new family and her. She starting crying... she didn't know why.. she didn't want to cry she wanted to be angry.. and all she could do was blame it on the hormones... it seemed they were catching up to her.

"I didn't know he was Echani. I always just thought he was an albino or something. Took a while to figure it out."

He could take her inside, but he knew that their cousin wasn't home and it wouldn't be right to enter the house uninvited despite their relation. Instead, he just stood and looked at it for a while, figuring it was just nice for Kalia to see the place where their father had grown up. In reality, he wasn't thinking all that clearly. So much was going on in his life that it was weighing on his mind, driving him crazy.

But he couldn't avoid everything, since Hanna had grabbed his sister's hand and attempted to storm off with her, tears running down her face. He didn't get it. Why was she crying and trying to take Kalia away.

"Where are you going?"

“I didn’t either, I miss him and mom. I think they would be proud. We both seem to be grown capable adults.” Sighing she folded her arms across her chest and just looked at the house. If she thought about it really hard she could see her father’s face again smiling.
When Hanna began to cry and grab Kalia’s hand she moved to wipe some of the tears away and give her a big hug. She could understand the pregnancy hormones it brought out some crazy emotions.
“I think she’s upset by the way you are just brushing everything off. You know hormones and everything. It’s harder to control your emotions and I’m sure she’s under a lot of stress as it is. This does not help things.”

Hanna hardly understood it herself, she was crying her on some cold world... with her fiance and Kalia, she hugged her back feeling better already, She didn't say anything to kamon though, she just held Kalia tight, It gave her a chance to think a little, and get a hold of her self. She had to ... if she was going to make it through this day, it was just that kamon seemed to brush everything off. She had stayed there a little bit before getting a hold of her self, She still held Kalia's hand, she liked her new sister, she was very caring, as Hanna could tell, and seemed to know just how to react, Hanna hoped she was that way with her daughter.. and kamon one day... She looked up to Kalia, a bit.. she seemed so well put together. Hanna stayed silent though.

Kamon frowned and looked between them. Brushing it off. He supposed that's what he had been doing, really, but under the circumstances what did they expect? Kalia shows up all of a sudden and then dumps everything on top of him. Men were supposed to be impervious to tough emotions and such, but in reality they just bottled it up inside of them.

"Well what am I supposed to do? All of a sudden Kalia's alive, and now she's married and has kids, and Corbin's still missing and I have all these things going on and a pregnant fiance... It's a lot to deal with."

He ran a hand over his head.

"A lot..."

"We all have a lot going on Kamon. This is a lot for me as well to process. Your supposed to talk to us. If something is bothering you ought to tell someone. If not me than Hanna. Don't bottle it all inside let us know what's going on. I want to know what you think of my family positive or negative as it may be. Your just pushing us away."

Hugging Hanna she sighed trying to keep her composer. There was a lot of things going on for her as well least he forget that she just met him as well and found out about his little family. She was worried about John out in battle as always and the kids. She knew him being away affected them as well. It never helped that sometimes they both were away at the same battle. The Republic was always a growing concern of hers as well and the council which she was on now. She was booked solid and honestly stressed out though she would never let it show.

Hanna smiled, at Kalia.. and then looked to Kamon, more seriously. " Yes kamon, I love you and I want to hear what you have to say, as wonderful as your father's house is.. at the moment I feel it would be better to discuss us... you, our sister, and me." She smiled.. she had grown attached to the woman still hugging her. Hanna looked to him, and wondered what he was thinking, " I know its tough... I can barely handle it... I am pregnant... running for chancellor, getting married getting judged for my age and having to wonder what will Kamon's family think... Will his kids accept me? will I somehow cause problems with you and them... Does kalia like me? Not to mention we just found Kalia, and have more family. I want to meet them and have them at our wedding. I know we all are overwhemed but it does us no good to bottle it up. "

Kamon sighed, and then turned and walked over to the house. Sitting down on the front step, he looked over at the two women.

"Kalia's return is a lot to take in on its own. I haven't met your kids or your husband, Kalia, so I can't say what it'll be like. Just as you can't when it comes to Spencer and Aston. Especially since Spencer is in love with the Empress."

If she didn't know that, it would certainly shock her. If she did know that, well, then she'd pass it off or he'd see some glimmer of upset at the notion. Truthfully, it upset Kamon too, but he wasn't about to go and drag it out. All that really mattered to him was that she was happy. That was the nature of being a father: you wanted your kids to be happy.

"Plus I left the service of the Republic. My soon to be wife is a member of the Republic who wants to be Chancellor. I'm no longer part of the Order. My daughter is a Dark Jedi, sleeping with the Empress, and now cast out of her clan on Dathomir because of it all. Her twin brother doesn't seem to know what to do with himself. And here I am looking at my long lost sister who has kids and a husband that I have never met.

"What am I supposed to do? Everything is all messed up. Normally I have things under control, but this is a lot all at once..."

"I understand Kamon I really do. The best thing to do is take a deep breath and breath." Letting go of Hanna for a second she went to sit by him and put her arm around him. He had a lot on his plate just like the rest of them but it seemed as if he had finally just had enough. This wouldn't happen if he actually talked to people about what was going on in his life.

"I can't say how the meeting with my husband will go for sure. I do know John will want to meet you and he's bound to like you. I have told him about my long lost family. The kids will be excited to have an uncle whom they naturally will assume will shower them with presents. I want you to meet them and be a part of our lives." She meant both of them of course. Hanna was now apart of the family too.

One thing Kalia was lucky with was how her children were not in love with the Empress or were Sith. She was really proud of them. They were really good kids unlike Kamon's it seemed. She could deal with John being gone, the order, and the Republic but if something was off with the kids all bets were off.

"If you just need time to breath I can respect that as well."

Her gaze turned to Hanna. "I of course want to be apart of your wedding. If you need any help I can do that too."

She frowned and ran over giving kamon a hug and kiss, she knew they were both stressed... " Will you be one of my brides maids? I am sort of short friends who will be one... ever since I became a politician my only friends are Kamon and Rosa. " The truth was out... Hanna really had no one to talk to.. most were intimidated by the fact she was Vice Chancellor at 20. and she wasn't fun enough for her old friends. She looked to Kamon, Spencer, is with the Empress... " She was a bit shocked and wanted to mention more but Nope.. no business.. sighed.. there was much she wanted to tell him but she couldn't he was the diplomat for the echani, and they had to keep business to them selves. " I know its hard but I would say as long as she is happy, then all is well. "

Kamon wrapped his arms around Hanna and returned the kiss. He was sorry that he'd upset her.

"Sorry, Hanna. I should tell you these things instead of keeping them inside. I just didn't want to bother you."

Looking up at Kalia, he smiled a little and slipped his arm around her. Why was he so upset about everything that was going on around? He should have better control than he was displaying. Everything would be alright. He'd meet this husband of hers, and her kids, and all would be well. When it came to the wedding, she would meet his children, and he would finally get to talk to the Empress of the Sith.

"Yes, Spencer is with the Empress. She professes to love her, and I won't force her to give that up. Besides, Spencer has a good heart. Perhaps she could sway the Empress on some things."
