As Abbey did this Echo performed every block that Dune had just taught her making the adjustment to the upward block and it helped as she quicly used it to disarm Abbey.

Dune watched Abbey lash out wildly and Echo take advantage of the sloppiness. Reaching out a hand, he called Abbey's deactivated hilt into his outstretched hand. It was to prevent her from lashing out again as much as anything. He nodded approvingly at Echo.

"That's how it works. Echo was able to move inside and take away your weapon. She's been training a month which should tell you that you can also accomplish this. If you allow yourself to be in control and direct your thoughts and feelings, anyway."

"Consider also if you'd attacked an opponent of superior experience. If you did so in this way, you'd have died in seconds."

He walked over and handed the hilt back to Abbey.

"You made a mistake. Don't dwell on it, but learn from it. Stay focused now as you begin the sequence."

"Echo, that applies to you too. Both of you stay focused. Now, being again, please."

Echo again took middle guard and waited for Abbey to attack her again. Abbeys sudden aggression had surprised the young Miraluka. But Echo had faced more experienced users some of those included Aratu users who were very aggressive and the form being the same way.
