His lips thinned for a moment.

How long had she been thinking about this? Was it something that really bothered her? Something that kept her up at night? He frowned. It was an issue that Kurt hadn't even really ever considered. There was no doubt that he was his mother's son, even less so about his father. Most of his mannerisms, sayings, hell even his appearance was nearly identical to his dad. Sure he wasn't quite as smart as old man Meyer, but he was definitely his son. A frown pulled at his lips and slowly Kurt scooted closer to Jamie.

His arm wrapped around her, pulling her close.

"Would it matter?" The Courier asked quietly. "They love you, that much is clear. They were willing to throw out a planets with of credits to find you, threw me in jail because they thought I had some loose connection to you. They love you."

That much was the honest truth, at least from how Kurt saw it. "But...you can always ask."

Honesty and direct questions had always been the way of Kurt's own home. There had been the occasional white lie, the small fib, but in the end it had all always come out. His parents were not the kind to keep secrets, and as long as Kurt asked they had always been more than willing to tell him what was wrong and how things were. It was how they worked, and he was sure that if Jamie asked her parents she would find the same.

"Would it matter?" She repeated, then again in her head. Would it matter? "Maybe." She said after finally giving it some thought. "I don't know." How could she, after all? What if she were actually born to different parents this whole time? What if her family were not in fact nobility born of Naboo, but instead some lineage of Jedi or other Force users. That would explain something at least. "I'd always just assumed I was different, but I guess there could always be something more to it."

A hand ran through the blonde locks, tossing them up a few times to shake the bit of knots free.

"Sure they spent a lot of credits, but it would also look poorly on them if they didn't. Not to say they don't care about me, I know that's not the case, but it doesn't necessarily make them my birth parents." There was a slight pause, perhaps that sounded a bit harsher than she had anticipated it to be. But didn't a child have a right to at least know for sure?

"I could ask, but I suspect that would be met with apprehension regardless of whether or not it's true. That's just how they are. Nobles aren't fond of whole truths without making a puzzle out of words."

Kurt pulled her closer, pondering for a moment. There wasn't really anything else for him to say. It wasn't like he could tell her the truth, wasn't like he could immediately find an answer for her. He knew that very likely she didn't even want to know the actual answer, that whatever it was was likely better left alone. The Courier frowned for a moment more, then leaned over and gently pressed his lips against her cheek just as he offered her a short squeeze with his arm.

"Well." He began. "If you want to ask, I can be right there beside you when you do."

That was the least he could offer. "Or maybe we'll do a bit of digging on our own."

That was more his style anyway.

He was pretty sure that if Jamie really was adopted there would be records of it somewhere, even if Nobility was involved. If there was one thing that Kurt had learned about the galaxy and it's governments it was that bureaucracy loved to keep records. That was an infallible fact that seemed to be true no matter where he went. He supposed that it was another one of those upsides, or perhaps downsides, to having an actual governments on a planet. "Break into a records room or two. Easy enough with the force, I imagine."

Another quick peck and a wink.

"I don't quite know if breaking into places to find out the truth is really the best first option." The girl leaned over, plucking up another two pieces of the fish from the leaf, offering one to Kurt before tossing the other into her mouth and snapping her mouth shut promptly to chew the crispy coconut glazed fish. Jamie was careful to finish chewing and swallowing before speaking as was proper. Many of her mannerisms were not lost on her despite disliking a great many customs of noble life. "Though there might be other ways to find out without breaking the laws outright." What she was hinting at might elude Kurt given that he wasn't quite familiar with the Force, but she had a few ideas as to how to persuade others to offering up what was needed, rather than outright performing what most would consider felonies.

"We'll figure it out when the time comes. It's not important right now."

He took a bite of the fish, smiling slightly as if trying to reassure her. "Alright."

It wasn't an issue that Kurt would press, not now, not until she was ready for it. The idea did trouble him though, that something so huge could shift within her life. He wanted to be there for her for everything, but Kurt was afraid that something like this was out of his wheelhouse. The relationship between his parents and himself was wildly different then the one that Jamie had with her own Mother and Father. By her own telling things were often odd between her and her parents, for Kurt...well, he'd had his share of troubles but never for more than a day.

A frown pulled at his lips, then slowly he shook his head and a smile returned to his face.

"So what do you think of our little vacation?" His thumb gently pulled over her stomach. "Worthy of a Jedi?"

The Courier teased her, grinning.

"I don't know." She said with a shrug of her shoulders. "I'm not a Jedi."

So what was she? Jamie really still had no idea where she quite fell in the spectrum of Sith and Jedi. She knew a bit of the various groups that sat somewhere along that spectrum. The Silvers, the old Protectorate, the Alliance. She even knew about the Primeval and other defunct regimes that sprang up and dissipated over time now. All, or most of the information on these sects came from her teachings and various tid-bits of information she'd garnered from her master and others she'd met along her journey.

"It's lovely here though. Thank you for this. It's really incredible."

There was certain sincerity in her tone and body language. The blonde was clearly at ease unlike she had been over the past few months.

Kurt of course had no idea of the difference between Sith, Jedi, or any other Order of the force that claimed to be something. His only education with that came from what he had learned in the Republic, Sith bad, Jedi good. It was really all he knew, and as long as Jamie didn't mention that she was a Sith Lord now...well he'd probably just accept whatever she told him. "If you say so."

There was no sarcasm in his tone, just acceptance.

"Maybe we can do it again, someplace else." It was odd for Kurt to say something like that, thoughts of the future. He was never one to plan ahead, never one to take steps towards planning anything. He was generally one to just go with the flow, live in the moment, but Jamie...Jamie had him thinking about more than just himself, more than just what was happening in front of him. The act was not even conscious, it was simply what The Pilot thought of as he lay there in the sand.

In that moment, running didn't seem to matter so much.

The blonde dug her toes into the sand and wiggled them a few times, enjoying the warmth that was held beneath the surface from the earlier heat of the sunlight. She dropped her head back as well, letting out a pleased sigh, still playing with the sand between each digit. For the first time in months there was nothing to prepare herself for the next day, mentally or physically. No agenda or schedule to follow, no reading, training, or studying. The time was hers and his to enjoy as they saw fit. The very idea of it was relaxing, putting the girl into a very calm state that was rarely seen elsewhere.

"Anywhere." Her hand searched a moment before finding Kurt's, lacing her fingers into his. "With you? Anywhere."

The gentle rolling of the waves against the beach a ways away, coupled with the rustling of trees from the gentle breeze that passed through and across the island, as well as the soft chirping of tiny insects within the jungle that stretched across the remainder of the untamed wilderness on the island was a perfect combination for Jamie to close her eyes and empty her thoughts, replaced by the ambiance of the world around her.

He smiled slightly. "Anywhere, huh?"

That could mean a lot of things.

It could really mean anywhere.

For some odd reason Kurt didn't find that as daunting as it should have been, he didn't find it scary and he certainly didn't find terrifying. He frowned for a moment, turning his head to look up at the sky. The sun had slowly begun to set, the clear blue slowly turning into a star filled black. The Pilot looked up into the sky, slowly panning his gaze over the different constellations. Kurt managed to recognize one or two of the formations, none of them from where he had been born.

Spira was too far away from Tatooine for the constellations to be the same, though he hadn't expected them to be. A smile pulled over his lips and slowly he tugged Jamie closer. Perhaps they could go anywhere, anywhere in the galaxy that sat above them.

An unexpected brightness peered through tightly shut eyelids despite the greatest of efforts made by the young blonde woman who lay beside Kurt. Finally with a groan Jamie opened her eyes to reveal the early morning sun beaming through the heavy canvas of the tent. The warmth of the rays felt incredible, like a natural, weightless blanket had been laid upon her. Small hands raised to rub away the sleepiness from her pale blue eyes, followed by a long, audible yawn and a stretch of the arms so wide it sent that same motion to her legs and toes. Leaning over Jamie gently glided her hand down Kurt's back, soft scratching along his smooth skin to wake him. A light kiss followed to his cheek, granting her the opportunity to whisper in his ear before pulling away. "Good morning, you."

Sitting up the blonde stretched once more, her eyes falling to Kurt with a delighted smile on her face. "Sleep well?" Reminded of her injury during the day prior, Jamie leaned forward, her hand tracing the length of her leg to her ankle and gave it a small pull as well as a squeeze. Much to her surprise it seemed that the bit of rest and relaxing she had gotten later in the day and overnight appeared to have at the very least alleviated most of her discomfort. At least, the discomfort had subsided enough that she could likely participate in some level of exercise and activity. That alone brought another wide smile to her face.

As always Kurt had been the first to awake, a theme that ran through him because of the early mornings he had always taken to on Tatooine. He hadn't moved an inch of course, not wanting to disturb Jamie as she slumbered away beside, and partly on top of him. When she finally awoke he simply smiled, replying with a simple. "Morning."

There was a joy to waking up beside her, even more so in a place like this.

"How's your ankle feeling?" She had said it would be fine today, something that he hoped was true. "Better?"

If they were going to explore the other island it would be best if she wasn't injured, especially since the terrain looked to be a tad more rocky than where they were. The other piece of land contained a mountain, large enough to loom slightly over the ocean and with several small inlets that Kurt had observed on the map that they had taken with them. The cove that dipped into the island was also worthy of note, though impossible to get to due to the sheer cliffs that hung off the mountains, unless they went into the cove by boat of course.

Kurt didn't plan on that, but he never quite knew what Jamie had on her mind.

Jamie sat up and leaned forward, her hand trailing down her leg to where the prior injury had occurred. A few gentle rubs against the skin was followed by a few small twists of the ankle. There was still some tension there, perhaps a pinched nerve or some small bit of ligament damage, but nothing that would drastically impose her ability to walk or climb. "I think I'm okay." She said confidently. "Running might be out of the question, but." She continued as she slowly pulled herself up from the sitting position, kissing Kurt on the cheek as she rose from the sand. "I think I should be fine otherwise."

To assert her point the girl strut about the tent a few times, ensuring that she was safe to walk, and to put aside any fears Kurt might have about her trying to feign her condition. "Yeah...I'll be okay." Returning to him, the blonde knelt down, her hands resting on either side of his face as she looked down towards Kurt. With a smile she lowered her face and kissed him sweetly from a rather awkward upside-down manner.

He sat up, pressing his lips against hers to make sure she didn't fall over and overreach herself. There was a smile on his face as she pulled away, though it was mixed with a hint of concern. Kurt glanced at her ankle for a moment, though he simply nodded his head and didn't try to argue.

They were on vacation, it wasn't the time to tell her what to do.

"As long as you're sure." Kurt said quietly and then slowly slid his hand onto her thighs. There was a bit of red along her skin, subtle sunburns beginning to form after only a day of being out in the tropics. He smiled slightly to himself, realizing that if he ever took Jamie home he'd probably have to bathe her in sun tan lotion, or perhaps just keep her entirely dressed the whole time she was there. The sun here was nothing compared to the twins on Tatooine.

"Lets go eat something for breakfast." They still had one of the coconuts, and a few granola bars from the boat. "Then we can get going."

Excitement carried through his tone.

The blonde flinched for a second as Kurt's hands touched a small area that had become slightly burned before quickly adjusting himself. She hadn't been aware, nor even thought about the fact that applying sun-block on the rest of her body once she'd changed should have been priority number one. Her eyes glanced about, observing the areas that had become reddened. Oh well. Nothing to do about it now I suppose. "I'm sure." She said confidently. "Right then. Let's get breakfast and be on our way. Plenty to do and see today!" She leaned back, wrapping her hands around his to pull him up with the weight of her lean. "No time to waste!"

With Kurt on his feet Jamie turned her attention to the beach, ensuring that the boat was still docked and hadn't been hijacked during their rest. Satisfied that the ship was as they had left it, the blonde went about emptying her pack, making sure to only take with her a pair of water bottles in case of emergency. The pack could then be used to carry anything else they might find and want to take with them, should the need arise. Everything else was neatly organized into the corner of the tent to make sure it stayed in place while the two were off adventuring. Lastly, Jamie removed a pair of shorts to pull over her swimsuit bottom as it seemed more appropriate for exploring.

Kurt made his own preparations, though he was a lot less organized about it then Jamie. He grabbed some of his own clothes and quickly tossed them on, taking the light t-shirt and a pair of shorts, deciding that it was best he didn't go exploring in the nude. Of course he also pulled the small blaster from his bag, checking the weapon over once before giving himself a nod. The power-pack was at full charge, but there was no telling what creatures lived over in that jungle, better safe then sorry.

To that effect he slowly slipped an extra power-pack into his pocket, just in case.

"Alright." Kurt said as he stood inside of the tent, stretching to his full height and slipping the WESTAR-35 into the back of his pants. The Safety was on so he wouldn't accidentally shoot himself, an important aspect of keeping a blaster anywhere near your own vitals.

"So what do you want for breakfast." Kurt said as he moved passed Jamie, his hand very gently grazing the small of her back. "Coconut, or Coconut?"

"Oh I see we have the five star fixings here." She said, her head turning to face Kurt as he moved by her. "Hmmmm." Her fingers tapped gently on her chin, as if in some deep contemplation over the wealth of options she'd been presented with. "Hard to choose, but I think I'll take...Coconut." The girl stuck out her tongue in jest before noticing the blaster that Kurt had tucked into his waistband. A peculiar look took form on her face as she eyed him curiously. "Expecting a shootout with some notorious thugs are we?" Extending her hands, the blonde formed a blaster with her left hand, holding the pose tightly with her right hand tucked beneath it before making a pew noise as if she were firing at something.

"Or is your master plan to off me in the jungle and leave my body here after all?" She said before having a small outburst of laughter. Slipping her hands around his neck, fingers intertwined to hold onto him as she pressed her lips against his. A surge of air rushed into her lungs the moment she connected with Kurt, akin to a well of energy pouring into her body that excited her. "Right, breakfast." She finally managed to say as the two separated.

He smiled.

Oh the joke about the weapon was all well and good, but Kurt knew better than most that nature was unforgiving. He had come from a desert world, hardly populated and not thought of as anything exotic, but it had taught him harsh lessons. The fact of that matter was that Mother Nature was a friend to no one but itself. When it wasn't sandstorms it was cold snaps, when it wasn't raging Bantha it was Krayt Dragons. There was always a threat, and if Kurt could stop one of those threats before it occurred? He would take the opportunity.

"Going to cook for me again?" Kurt asked, genuine curiosity in his tone.

She had made him a meal once before, something that had been quite delicious, though the name now escaped him.

Of course the situation here was wholly different, for one, they really only had two ingredients. He supposed that they would have to see about finding some fruit on the other island, though he was more than hesitant going about an uncharted place eating random things off trees.

"Cook for you?" The girl looked around quizzically, as if Kurt saw some spread of ingredients she could not, then raised a brow. "Cook...What, exactly?" They had the option of fishing or foraging, and even then the options were fairly limited. "Unless you're seeing something I'm not, we haven't got much to work with, but maybe there's something else we'll find over on the other island." The blonde didn't hold out much hope for finding anything different on the other island just a short distance away. It was likely that most everything around contained the same species of plant life and lack of any land animals, but she was no expert on this world, so anything could be possible.

"For now, you'll have to enjoy the coconut we've got. Unless of course fishing in the morning is your type of thing."

Jamie's eyes glanced out over the ocean from where she stood. The water was surprisingly incredibly calm with almost no chop or waves in sight. It was just as warm as the day prior, with only a few spotted clouds that graced the sky here and there. It would make for a beautiful hot day, though once they reached the jungle it would certainly turn much more humid beneath the dense trees and flowing rivers that split the island up.

He smiled slightly. "Lets save the fishing for later tonight, shall we?"

Kurt thought ti best that they head over to the other island before the day dragged on too far, after all they would eventually have to get back to camp as well. It wouldn't due to get stuck somewhere they didn't have any shelter. He wasn't entirely sure about Spira's weather patterns, but if it was like any other tropical world it meant that there was a high chance they would see at least a little bit of rain before their time here was out, better that was served under a tent then the canopy of trees in the jungle.

"Though." Kurt began. "Let's be careful about what we find on that other island, I'm not exactly a botanist."

That was an understatement. "Don't want you getting sick."

Kurt gave her a small wink, though truth be told it was far more likely that he would be the one stupid enough to eat a random fruit they found.

"As you wish, dear." She said, running a hand through his soft albeit messy hair before planting a single, sweet kiss on his cheek.

"Naboo was full of exotic flora and wild berries and such. I'm pretty good at picking out safe from poisonous." She explained, continuing her mild understanding of the subject matter. "Usually I've found back home that the poisonous ones have a sickly sweet smell, have a yellowish or greenish skin, or have a sappy texture." Though every planet was surely unique, there was typically a common theme between plant life that held toxins strong enough to affect humans. Many alien species were immune to such things, their DNA structures being constructed in slightly different manners. Some were even immune to toxic gas, even consuming it in special types of bars. Places like these were in fact deadly for any human. Jamie had learned that Dorin's atmosphere and air was comprised of gasses that would kill humans in seconds, where it was natural for the Kel-Dor to breath in.

"We'll be alright I think. Just don't go sneaking snacks off bushes. Besides, unless we're dying of starvation, berries won't exactly be a very big sustenance provider unless we find them in bushels. We might need to look for bigger fruits, or wait entirely until we make it back to camp."
