Next Time

Lugus went back to the bank sitting himself on a rock beside her, “I have the maturity of a four year old so I guess we’re in good company.” He chuckled then bumped shoulders with her.

The mention of music made him smile. Music was a passion of his. “That won’t do. You have to learn to savor it. Like it’s a fine dish. Listen to the music and the lyrics. Find the beat and the groove and just let it feel you. If a song talks to me, I can listen to it on repeat all day.”

He leaned back propping himself on his elbows, “It’s all about rock. Metal, Punk, Ska, Rock’n’roll, blues even but that depends… Um there’s probably more just so many different sub genres. What does your sister have you listening to?” He grinned at her.

Corvus shrugged. "I don't listen to her stuff. Oddly I love music with passion. That's my thing, if I have one. Sometimes heavy and other times light and melodic. But I feel the need to be told a story. Funnily enough I like to hear different people sing the same songs. To sing the same words but tell me a different story. Is that normal?"

Lugus smiled, “It’s amazing. Music. How we can get different messages from the same songs. It’s amazing how music can even cross barriers and bring people together who normally wouldn’t even associate with each other.”

“Alright. I guess we can head back now,” He paused for a moment taking one final view of the waterfall and the pool. He would definitely have to come back. Maybe bring her back as well despite her attention span of a four-year-old. He stood up going over to get the clothes and boots he removed handing her the robe she took off as well.

Time was a funny thing. Each time they met, it felt like Corvus was in a new chapter of her life. The crash where she was determined to be a person and Jedi but didn’t know how.

The picnic where she was trying – but failing. Then now where her attempts to open up to her emotions were going woefully awry.

Next time would be different – for there was always a next time. So she slipped on her robe and mused that in this life the Grand Master had many friends but Corvus had few. Lugus was one of a small band of individuals that knew her for who she was – not what she was.

So she hugged him, for no other reason than he was Lugus. And she gave no explanation, just a big smile.

And for that he was worth his weight in gold. So, until the next time…
