Night of Rhen

With a start, Tyyni realized the walls around him had shifted from the soft, cold ice to a harder metal. The Hutt hadn't known an outpost was out here, but it made sense. The Light Side was powerful here, he could feel it, and the added bonus of crystals on the planet made it a prime location for a base.

Tyyni shivered audibly. It seemed as if the walls themselves were unsure if his presence was welcome or not. The Hutt brushed off the feeling, chocking it up to being a sudden but welcome change in temperature. Walls can't think, Tyyni. I think the frostbite is getting to me.

The Hutt slid after his master into a room of Jedi, putting together various projects. Tyyni decided to stay quiet, bowing to them as a collective. Something about the place didn't resonate well with him, but he couldn't put his finger on it.

Absentmindedly, Tyyni scanned the room, looking for lightsaber components. If this place was so close to so many lightsaber crystals, they probably had lightsaber parts around. Tyyni wanted to build his own lightsaber as soon as possible.

Looking in the rooms while she stood there for a moment with a nod of her head and led the way towards the different work rooms. For meditating and working on equipment when she had given the crystals over but sitting there in one of the spaces she looked at her padawan while speaking and offering a small look. "IF you believe you are ready your saber can be assembled here or in one of the rooms. We have a great deal of material that you can use including some of the new materials like the synthmesh. It is made from solari and pontite crystals as well as wintrium and kyber."

"Okay, I suppose I can find some material. I will not build it yet, I do not think. I want to take my time, in the confines of my own room. It just feels... Right."

Tyyni nodded happily to his master, and began searching through various piles of tech. As the pieces began to surface from his digging, he levitated them into the air, adding to his solari crystal's orbit around himself. He included the synthmesh, wondering as to the qualities of the material. Perhaps it was also like a 'lock', to repel Darksiders.

After a few minutes of searching, Tyyni found all of the necessary bits and pieces, floating them into a satchel on his back for later use. Tyyni looked to his master with a smile. "Now what, Master Quenladose?"

Hmm what now indeed, since her padawan didn't want to build his saber it meant they weren't going to need to head back just yet and the citadel itself was massive and impressive. A place where all of them could work on different things. So what did she want to do with her padawan here? Training and food, she was small but she got just as hungry as any of them while moving. "I think something important is in order, food and a good amount of it. THere are the new supplies that have been developed for the jedi to be able to use and eat here and on ships. Soups, different meals and all of it is in the large mess hall we can work with above where the watch go and eat."

Tyyni nodded, vaguely noticing his rumbling stomach. All of this excitement had worked up his appetite, for sure. "I could eat, yes."

The Hutt began his slow pace towards the mess hall, sliding alongside his master. As he went, he had a startling realization; he knew almost nothing about Quenladose. The thought gave Tyyni pause. Of course, since that first encounter with the rainbow-haired woman, he had researched her, finding an impressive resume. He had never asked her about herself though, and Tyyni felt slightly bad about it. So as they walked, Tyyni coughed into one hand.

"So... Where did you grow up, Master Quenladose? Did you grow up a Jedi, or did you find the path yourself? Who was your Master?" The questions fell out, one after another, each building upon the question set before it. The Hutt passed his large tongue over his lips, wetting them in the dry air.

Hmm talking about herself. She could do that while they were walking and the mess hall was large filled with people and different food, it helped that saori knew how to make rations and pack them so just a little food and meals could go a long way since one bar had enough for a weeks worth of food. So the better ones could function for all of them here for centuries as she got some food and stood there looking at her padawan. "I was born above Kashyyyk and my parents ship crashed in the shadowlands. I was raised by the wookiee's and they taught me until the jedi found me when I was in my teens. They didn't understand that for me teenage years was about sixty of their years and that I would be in the order for over nine hundred years later." She said the age with a shrug and was going over more of the things when she got food for herself.

Tyyni listened as his master spoke, making sure to mentally catalog the new information. He knew she was old, far older than him. That was what made her so interesting to him. Like her, Tyyni would mostly likely live a long life, perhaps hundreds of years of Jedi training. The thought was a lot to comprehend, but strangely comforting. If she had trained for this long, and still was a Jedi, there had to be merit to the Order's teachings.

"Thank you for sharing, Master." Tyyni felt genuinely happy, despite the unease he had felt before. As they went into the mess hall, Tyyni bowed to several of the individuals, most of them staring back for a surprised second before bowing back. The two Jedi sat down, and ate. The meal was slightly bland, but it was still impressive how the Silver Jedi could create food here at all. His refined palate told him to spit the food out, but his brain wouldn't dare. The technology that was in his mouth was amazing!

With a sigh, Tyyni spoke up, hands wringing together. "You know, I was just a little Huttlet when I was found by a Jedi. He took me under his arm, eventually bringing me to the Silver Sanctum... He died, maybe ten years ago." Tyyni thought back on the man that liberated him from his birth father. What path would he be on now, if things had worked out differently? "He was my best friend, and I his. For fifty-five years, he was my adopted father. I miss Master Oluja dearly." The young Hutt felt tears begin to build at the edges of his eyes, and wiped them quickly away. "How do you deal with that? Outliving the ones you love, I mean."

She was looking at him and the idea had crossed her mind several times when she usually trained padawans but it was a complicated thing. On the one hand well it would be sad but she was sure that it would be happening. "I have thought about that and it is difficult, most padawans will live for awhile, most people I grew up knowing are with the force. I have learned to let them go sadly and after awhile it becomes easier which is sad." She thought about it but being here with him for now there was a good amount of work he had going into the things. Developing himself as a padawan and giving herself a small thing though while she was eating and there was a lot going on in the mess hall. "But we shouldn't dwell on the past that is how jedi get trapped trying to return to glory or judging everything based on the past instead of on what is done now."

Tyyni nodded thoughtfully, digging into the food ahead of him. "I agree. We must look to the past for guidance, but to the future for hope. Not the other way around." Perhaps the Huttlet had said something profound. Perhaps it was he words of an idiot. Tyyni couldn't tell.

"And I suppose we should look to the present for company." Tyyni smiled at his master, green eyes sparkling. "Thank you, Master Quenladose. You have eased my mind." Perhaps Tyyni's past friend should stay in the past. Reshi Oluja was dead, and Tyyni only had the future to look forward to.

"I have another question for you, Master, of far less seriousness." Tyyni stirred his food again, this time with anticipation. "I've been thinking of studying to be a Jedi Sentinel..." Tyyni let the statement hang in the air, almost like a question. "...An Investigator, to be specific. I like using my mind, solving problems. And I have also studied various criminal syndicates and cartels... Do you think I could do it?"

She was looking at her padawan and being a sentinel was a very nice thing to use when she was looking over some of the things. Thinking about what he might be able to do and apply his mind to. "I think you could, the jedi need more investigators. everyone wants to be a shadow, wants to be cool and that is a strange things." She said it with a small grin on her face though as she was eating for a look. "You just have to get the training for it, going around the galaxy and making sure that you have the information about different criminal organizations." She was ready and looking at the bigger things though as well with another idea came to her. She had a small couple notes she was working with a few of the other investigators.

"Well, I know plenty about the various Hutt Cartels, they've been a constant study of mine, and I've been reading up on the Underground..." All of this was true; Tyyni had researched criminology to a large extent, but his intentions had always been just learning about Hutt culture. Why, he didn't know. Tyyni wanted to distance himself from his heritage as much as possible, but he had a weird fascination for the subject. Tyyni figured being an investigator would satisfy that urge.

"You are a Sentinel, correct? A Shadow? After our meal, perhaps you could share some of your Sentinel teachings with me." The Huttlet took another bite from his food, and looked at her expectantly. He was ready to learn. His lightsaber could wait for another day, but time for teaching is fleet.

She was looking at him and he had a good idea working with it so that he would be able to. Studying the different organizations so you had an idea of who they were and how to identify them in some cases. you needed to be able to do it and her teaching him some of the techniques that she could and would be able to use int he field as well as in some of the training courses for all fo them. "I can, there are a few skills but everything comes with time, most of my skills have taken a few hundred years to really refine and get to where I like and want them to be." She was looking over at some of the things when she continued to eat and her sabers were calming as well as her hair pins.

Tyyni nodded, his excitement falling. He understood that many of the Jedi's teachings were learned with time, and as a Hutt, he certainly had plenty of time to learn. But he knew he had to start somewhere.

Tyyni shoveled the last piece of food into his mouth, and burped. He quickly covered his mouth, blushing. "My apologies," he said sheepishly. He passed his large, bulbous tongue over his lips. "Do you have anything else you wish to show me, Master? If not, perhaps we can get some training in? I do very wish to get a leg up on my training..." Tyyni looked down, realizing he had no legs. "Or... so to speak."

Tyyni used the Force to slide off of his seat carefully, slowly levitating to the ground. He had been practicing on his own, but more training was always beneficial.

Ha.... leg up she totally got that joke and snickered a little. Quickly recovering so she could try and control herself but watching it all with a grin on her face when she gave him a nod of her head. "We can do that, some more training now for your skills." She was thinking about what she could teach him and there was a good amount when Quenladose stood up making sure everything was cleaned up. "We'll start with some basics like sokan, using what is around you. For me it is usually because padawans can lift me up with little effort so I have to be able to use what is around me. For you something of the same as you are a lot larger and going to need to be able to move. So we'll get you practicing with some ways to move around."

Tyyni nodded thoughtfully at his master's words. He knew what sokan was, using the terrain to one's advantage, but had never been taught the finer details of it. Perhaps it would be very beneficial, considering how immobile he could be in a fight, and how much energy he had to expend to use his mobility. "That would be nice, yes."

Tyyni waited patiently for Quenladose to take the lead. Perhaps they had training rooms here? Perhaps they would go outside. Who knew, the possibilities were endless.

She waited for a moment and then was moving, leading the way through the citadel towards the training rooms and it was large, black panels with a blue glow on the walls and the should of machines and projectors. The training holosuites were designed to work on a lot more of everything that they would be able to find. She was prepared setting it up as the room changed with hardlight on the walls to move around jumping and kicking off of it, her sabers practically vibrating with the force while the force crystals in them responded to her own excitement with a nod fo her head. "Alright the first step to many things with the force and moving is knowing how you can conserve your stamina. It doesn't do good if you can jump twenty feet in the air and it is going to wind you to the point you can't do anything else."

Tyyni followed his master, debating different theories in his head. What would they do? If they went outside, perhaps he would be forced to find good positions in the hills, cold to the core. Perhaps there would be a simple training room, to stretch his metaphorical legs. He hadn't expected the holosuite.

Tyyni marveled at the panels, and gasped as they shifted in front of his eyes. He watched his master perform an unparalleled act of acrobatics. I do not think I could do that.

After listening, he shrugged slightly. "I do not know how to conserve my stamina. It is a little difficult for me. I have more mass to move around with less muscle. I need to expend energy to move quickly at all." To make a point, he harnessed the Force within himself, and launched his body up, and into the wall. Mid-way into the aerial performance, he rotated his body, tail slamming onto the wall. Using the extra force, he struck the wall, and launched down onto the floor. He was already sweating from the exertion. "I do not know how to overcome this obstacle..."

She looked at him and kept her mind debating all of it with a nod of her head, she was looking at some of the ways to help him and moving around with all of the energy well there was. "We will work on it then." She moved back down to the floor and looked at him while focusing the force and started levitating herself up a little ways here and there. Moving around so that she moved across the floor. "We will develop floating meditation for yourself, it is all about a jedi being able to lift it all. Your size will not become an issue if you are able to focus and lift yourself. It will mean more work but we can work on it." She stayed there touching back down on the floor with a look at him when she was prepared.

"Floating meditation? I know what that is. But I have only ever seen the old, or the resting, do this. How would I apply it in battle?"

Tyyni saw her float up into the air, and scratched his head. The more he thought about it, the more it made sense. The best practitioners of Soresu almost go into a meditation when they perform their rotations. Perhaps these two forms of calming the mind could be combined.

As he spoke, he sunk down into his own body, until he was lounging on the floor. The Huttlet curled his tail into a meditative position, and began to push out external thoughts, leaving him with nothing but his own thoughts. He winked open one eye, awaiting his master's instructions.

She was watching hi and prepared to work on many of the things before she wanted to work on more of it. Sticking a few of the ideas to the back of her mind when she was working on more of it with a grin. "All can use it, for skills in lightsaber combat such as Tripzest and levitation. Other jedi are skilled in a number of things like flight so we will be able to set up for different things. Able to move around an area and lift yourself up can help many more people." She moved around the room while focusing it and mirrored some movements with her hands that would work for sabers allowing her to rotate around with soresu even in the air. "It is just a matter of finding that meditative state."
