Night of Rhen

In his meditative state, he heard his master's words. He nodded, seeing her float her lightsabers in the air. Tyyni set his training saber in front of him, trying to imitate his master, with some success. He was able to float the hilt in front of his face, and activated it midair, sending a bright blue shimmer through the area.

Tyyni's tongue lolled out as he concentrated on keeping the saber in place. He couldn't quite swing the blade just yet, only being able to slowly drift it from one side of his body to the next. He tried to find his peace, letting the slow pace of the saber calm him. Without thinking about it, the blade moved quicker and quicker, until the blue training saber was performing slow loops around the Hutt's body. He seemed to have found his groove.

Tyyni closed his eyes, feeling a new sense of euphoria. His mind opened wide to the presences around him. He felt more at peace than he ever had before, using a simple telekinesis exercise to harden his focus.

Unbeknownst to the Hutt padawan, he had begun to float half an inch off of the ground.

She was brave but not brave enough to try and measure the height but she was small enough to see that there was somthing there when she was moving around him. Sticking to a few of the side areas as she hovered and touched the ground. her padawan was getting the lesson, focusing his mind and allowing the force and serenity to guide him forward over some of the other distractions. Once you could reach that state and learn how to enter it under pretty much any distraction short of someone stabbing you in the head or where you have vital organs you could find yourself the skill needed. She was watching him carefully and letting him find that happy place in his mind that would be able to work for him. "Very good, now move around and work on controlling your body while you are meditating."

Tyyni heard his master's words, but they sounded far away, not entirely there. They didn't quite register with the Hutt, but he got the basic concept.

Tyyni's mind was blank, devoid of all thought and emotion. He was a vessel for the Force, a cup ready to be filled. And fill he did, as the Padawan slowly moved forward, training saber still performing short, slow rotations. The Hutt almost slithered through the air, a graceful display of inner peace.

Amid his tranquility, Tyyni was surprised to find that this came easy to him. He had always excelled at and enjoyed meditation. In a body that garnered so much ridicule, it was nice to escape it for a while. So Tyyni let his mind be blank, and his movements sluggish, and guided by the Force.

The Hutt felt a twinge of something in the back of his mind, pushing its way in. At first, Tyyni ignored it, trying to return to his peace. However, the nagging sensation persisted, and Tyyni relented, giving way to something he had never experienced before. A vision.

Tyyni saw through his mind's eye... himself. But not quite himself. The Hutt before him had green and tan skin, like himself, with a long, skinny body, flabs of skin, and kind green eyes. The only difference was age. The Hutt before him seemed to be at least a thousand, as large as any ancient Hutt. The old Hutt closed its eyes with a short smile, and began to float in the air. A blade sprung from his side, shining a bright purple glow over his surroundings. With amazing speed, the Hutt Jedi corkscrewed into the sky, lightsaber trailing behind in a magnificent flurry of violet.

The vision was over quicker than it began. Tyyni's concentration faltered, and he fell to the ground, training saber clattering down beside him. Memories and sensations flooded back into his mind as he processed what had just happened.

"Woah."

She could see that there was something on her padawans face and features. Something he was seeing she could not and the massive hutt was moving slowly as he meditated for himself. She was moving around and prepared to keep it going for as long as he could when she slowed herself down. Hanging there in mid air with her padawan before her. The small jedi brought her legs up to cross them and focus her mind letting t blank and quiet until she was ready. "Yes whoa, now keep it going for as long as you can. Stamina and endurance is one of the most important aspects of using the force and even in meditation you need to be abel to focus your mind and body to function for long periods without interruption."

Tyyni gasped in air as he recovered from his vision. He had never had one before, but at the same time, he had never felt so at peace. Perhaps he was in the right place, as Rhen Var seemed to give off the light side. Despite his tired mind, he grinned.

Just as soon as the smile appeared, it left, replaced by a peaceful expression. Tyyni once again began to push out his random thoughts, until only he remained.

This time, as he closed his eyes, he felt himself rise an inch from the floor. He curled his tail around him, as if he were meditating on the ground. His training saber zipped to his hand, and he put it in his pocket. Again, he was surprised by how easy it was to keep him airborne. As long as he kept his concentration, that was. He could stay like this for hours. And if his master willed him, he would.

"This is... nice."

She was looking at him and he was starting to get all of it, sticking out many of the things before she was moving towards the bigger and more improved methods. her training skills were awesome as she moved onto one of the hardlight platforms so she could balance on it until she was moving. "yes it is, we should be able to work on many of the things that we can work on. Start working to focus on rising a little higher and moving to one of the platforms. From there you can take your time and work moving to another one. This is important and all about the work you put into it so we want to use your inner peace to lift you up higher and higher in the room. You'll also be able to get faster."

Tyyni nodded, looking up to the platform Quenladose had levitated up to. He didn't know exactly how he would quiet his mind further, but he would try, nonetheless.

Tyyni closed his large green eyes, and retreated into himself. Just like before, he rose into the air, perhaps 2 inches. Slowly but steadily, he would try to increase the height of his meditation. In the span of minutes, the Huttlet's bulky frame was lifted up, and up, and up, until it rested over the first platform. He searched deep within himself for distractions, and when he found one, he ripped it out, returning to his meditations. He felt raw, exposed, after making it to the first platform.

Opening his eyes, he saw his master ahead of him, going much faster than himself. He felt himself drop slightly as his concentration lagged, which was quickly corrected.

Slowly but surely, he made his way up the platforms. He was by no means fast about it, but his speed was slowly gaining as he meditated. He looked deeply within himself, perhaps deeper than he ever had before, and found... darkness.

He had always felt the darkness in him, but he had never delved so deep into his mind as to see it. In his mind's eye, he saw it as a nugget of black, with thin white threads wound around it tightly, keeping it in place. He frowned visibly. He spoke for the first time in a while.

"Oh."

She was looking at him while she was prepared for it, watching him move and she was sticking herself around to make it into a very nice and very impressive she hoped test while she was jumping and moving around towards. SHe could feel him reaching deeper into himself as she wondered what he might be able to feel and she could feel the pulse from the crystals in her saber. They balanced each other out force what she watned them to do. Allowing one to focus and see through a lot of the clouded thoughts she might get using the ancient witches lightsaber crystals. "Very good, you are doing what you know well and we should be able to get faster and well seeing that far into your own mind can do things to you. Show you places you had no idea existed or depths that you didn't know you had." She was moving to another platform with a nod of her head while she was prepared to keep working with him.

"Yes, I suppose..." Tyyni could still see it in his mind. Darkness, suspended by slivers of Light. This may be why he felt so apprehensive in the Temple earlier. It would explain why the walls seemed to find his presence distasteful. He kept himself suspended in the air, in between platforms, and spoke out to his master.

"I see Darkness in myself, Master Quenladose. I do not know how it got there, but I do not like it." His previously-peaceful face shriveled uncomfortably. "I do not understand. I do everything right. I follow the Code, to the tee. Why is there this Darkness?" He had his own theories.

Tyyni suspected the ball of black emotion was the remnants of his Hutt heritage. He would never be able to shake his race's tendencies, it seemed. "Is it because of who I am? Why?" The Hutt began to twirl higher and higher, his long body swimming impossibly fast through the air. "Why, Master? Is it just who I am?" He knew he had repeated himself, but he didn't care. The peace he had acquired but moments ago was shattered, but the Hutt didn't fall. He floated, robes shimmering, suspended in the air, a scared expression marring his features.

She was looking at him and gave a look like you would a child one of the curses of being so old was she had heard many padawans she had trained or seen with such darkness or thoughts. However they saw it as the darkness is there and they would give in. "That is not surprising, the darkness is in all of us but it is what you do with it. Will you like many others who fall nurture the darkness and make it stronger until it dominates your life. Or will you acknowledge it and seek to live with it allowing the force to guide you and being good in spite of it." She was watching him and moved in between the platforms as she was hovering with her hands clasped behind her hand gripping the sabers until she was ready to hear him out.

Tyyni felt his emotions rising as he stared at the manifestation of evil in his mind. He wanted it out, more than anything. He wanted to distance himself from it, to distance from himself. But as he heard Quenladose speak, he realized something; by hating the darkness within him, perhaps he was adding to it.

Tyyni took a deep breath, exhaling through his nose. He remained in the air, not speaking for a minute. He opened his eyes, hard and cold, as he floated down to his master's level. He spoke, his voice deliberate. "I want to be rid of it. I want nothing to do with the Dark SIde. But..." He hesitated, robes shimmering around him. "... Perhaps that is not possible. And perhaps I will have to live with that."

Many called Tyyni wise beyond his years. To be fair, he was rather old, but he didn't have the heart to tell those that commented on it so. He had found the problem, a problem that had plagued him since the day he was born. He was startled by it, but he refused to let his anger control him. "My apologies, Master. I lost my head." Tyyni hovered freely, barely concentrating on the act of keeping himself afloat. "Do you have darkness? How do you deal with it... being there?"

Tyyni gazed into his master's eyes, trying to gauge a reaction.

She was looking at him and thinking about how best she could figure out a way to remove the darkness... If she had such a thing well she would tell about it but she dind't. Removing the darkside from a person was not exactly healthy or dangerous but she looked at him with a look on her face. "There is no real method to removing the darkside from you. You can only learn to live with it and suppress it padawan. Learn to have it there but not feed it with your fear of the darkside growing or being upset that it is there. A number that were within the silver's embraced the darkside and all found purpose in their hedonism to become their own order recruiting the less light members of the jedi to their cause. It serves as a reminder of how dangerous and seductive the darkside can be to use it in more subtle ways." Quenladose stood there prepared to work on it all when she was there and the subject of her own darkside was there. "As for me, I have had over nine hundred years to learn to control it. With age comes strength."

Training. Training and time.

Tyyni finally hovered down, down, until his body slapped against the floor. His small form slumped, tail droopy. Slowly, he brought his Solari crystal out of a pocket in his robes and looked at it. It seemed to almost shimmer with an inner light, responding to his touch.

He had earned this. He had earned this crystal through the trial of the cave, with the help of his master, and he would earn being a Jedi, with the help of his master. But that would take training and time, two things he had already spent so much effort on. It sounded tiring, and terribly difficult.

"I have never seen my own darkness before. I have it contained, thankfully, but if one string is pulled, the rest will come undone, and my knot will unweave into something truly terrible." Tyyni looked up, green eyes slightly watery. "But I will not let that happen, I promise."

She was looking at him and well she had seen plenty of jedi say the same thing and many more fail to do even that. Seemed most like to run towards danger and then were surprised when they accepted falsehoods and logic from people who lie..... but treated it like gospel. It was one of the things that was leading to the growth of dark jedi once again and one fo the things that saw the jedi scratching their heads as no one just wanted to serve the light they needed to be edgy. Her feet barely making a sound when she touched the floor and spoke to him. "You'll do fine and that crystal will tell you when you are slipping. The lightside resonance of the solari doesn't like the darkside. So if you use it, the crystal will know and it will respond to tell you."

Tyyni stared at the crystal in his palm, feeling its sharp edges. He felt the great powers of the Light in it, and it no doubt felt the conflict within the Hutt. It seemed to flash as Tyyni floated it into the air, in front of his face. The Hutt simply stared at it, looking for a lesson in its reflective properties. All he saw was his own round face staring back.

"I think I am ready to leave this planet, Master. I would like to assemble my lightsaber. Also..." Tyyni looked uncomfortably at his master. "This trip has taught me a lot. There is much I need to dwell on." Tyyni returned the Solari crystal to his pocket, and folded his arms in front of him.

The Hutt had a difficult time deciding how he felt. He wasn't sad, or angry, or anything really, but he was beyond peace. He had a lot on his mind, most of which involving himself.

She looked at him with a nod fo her head. "Very well then." She slid her sabers onto her belt with a look though while she was walking. "Do you have any ideas of where to go?" She was curious and they would be able to figure something out, exploring across the galaxy was great but there was a number of other places here in silver jedi space where they could and would be able to go about helping people. Quenaldose herself was prepared to go with some more of them while the doors to the training suite opened to reveal the stone and metal of the Citadel once again and the simulation of hardlight disappeared so they were in the large room.

"Well, I am going to be joining the Silver Shadows, to help in my Investigator training. Perhaps somewhere you could teach me to be stealthier, without too much risk." Tyyni followed his master closely, startling as the room shimmered out of existance, and the previous setting took over his surroundings.

"And helping people would be nice, of course."

The Huttlet's decision to join the Shadows had not been a hasty one. He debated between them, the Protectors, and the Consulars for some time, but finally decided upon the Silver Shadows. He figured this group would enhance his detective abilities the most. Also, stealth was one thing he had never studied before, and wondered how he might be able to apply it in his future career.

"Well, do you know of any place that might work for this, Master Quenladose? Dromund Kaas? Felucia?"

A safe place to practice stealth techniques... yes she did. "I do." It wasn't nearby but it was within silver jedi space and it was where she knew several force orders gathered to work with the silvers that they didn't use as often as they could. "There is the twilight sepulcher, where different force sects gather from across the galaxy to meet with the silver jedi. Not really used except by a few but we can train you in some stealth skills." She was looking at him and leading the way into the hanger for them, to get into a ship where as she approached one of the droids brought out her hoverdisc that she could use to go around on because short with small legs. "There are a number of Disciples of Twilight at the Sepulcher and Fallanassi, Matukai, Shapers, Je'daii and Bendu."

The Twilight Sepulcher.

Tyyni had heard the name before. He knew it was where the Silver Shadows trained, but besides that, it's dealing were kept hush-hush, at least through the sources Tyyni had tried to research through. It was a mysterious place, where the Jedi did not train alone.

The small Hutt followed his master attentively, smiling as she acquired a hoverdisc. He needed to invest in a similar mode of transportation for himself, when he wanted to move fast, but wished to do so without expending too much energy.

Again, Tyyni found himself wondering at his Master's history, especially her history with the Jedi. It was apparent she was a Shadow, and a Disciple of Twilight, but Tyyni wanted more detail. "Who was your first mentor, Master Quenladose? And how did you decide the path you walk now?"

Hmm as she was getting in the ship that was something she had to think about ostly because old and didn't remember everything. "My master when I first came to the order was fairly average. Compared to many of the jedi now. He didn't try and stand out, just preformed his duties, trained padawans and presented himsself as a jedi worth following... but he was far to timid not taking a chance to show what he could do. He had more talent but he never wanted to stir the waters, never wanted to take charge and show his skills. It let him play things safe and few if any remember him in the order he was just there. Which is why I try to at least make my being unremarkable into a strength by being an old shadow and investigator. Aside from my hair people barely remember I am there in the room."
