I understand give and take just fine. But lately it's been more take from the One Sith, this is a key invasion for the republic and likely decide a lot of future plots and stories. I don't like writing to win, but at this deep into the war with the Sith the republic needs to pull off a win.

Thanks everyone for the great RP experience! It was halfway through the massive amount of char dev in this invasion that I realized I was going to a place of no return with Neph, and I think her death truly did symbolize her existence in its entirety.

Concerning the death of a character, I have always said that it should expose the very essence of one's character. That it should define them like the last stroke on a master-work of painting. In short, a character's death should be as beautiful as it is final.

The way [member="Darth Nephthys"] just went out truly defines that idea. All the basic elements that create the character of Darth Nephthys came to play in that moment, and that makes it truly precious.

I am sad to see the character go, but my goodness am I glad to have read that post. I salute you!

Much like in canon with the Death Star, or when Anakin destroyed the reactor core of the Droid control ship, or when Ventress used a thermal det to start the chain reaction of a Star Destroyer's destruction, Neph did the same thing here with the reactor core of the Ackbar.

She began a chain reaction of explosions inside the ship, sacrificing herself to do so.

Basically, went out with a BANG

Taking a class A thermal detonator and pushing the explosion outward with the Force to destroy the reactor?

That will cause some damage... and her death! One doesn't get out of that alive, which is why I was happy to send her off.

The rp wrote itself with how Neph is. It was a good end for her to show the sacrifice of self for completing her goal.

As an added caveat. Just because I killed off my char doesn't mean any other writer also has to so as well. I'm not here to dictate any else's rp.

By no means is it my intention to force any writer to kill off their chars. That is their sole prerogative. Not mine!
