Now that Netherworld is wrapped up... what are your ideas for the next Event?

Unless they are looking in the wrong direction! :)

I do see your point though.

Hiding something in plain sight? Still the same problem, but less obvious about exactly what you have planned ;)

I enjoy the idea of a peace between sects. Maybe, there will be factions or even individuals who cause disruptions like Ronan did in Guardians of the Galaxy. Something rogue like that. Anyways, maybe them there would be a true evil or maybe someone who sees their actions as good to wipe out all FUs. Be it viral, be it purge through NFU means and there are means...just people need to find them.

And just go from there.

A sortve subtle means to end all conflict by ambitious person with limited followers.

EDIT

this means no one would be safe. Maybe NFUS like Mandos and other type Factions would be used against the galaxy. Idk. Just some ideas.

A new figure steps into the political scene, hailing from a border world outside of faction influence, begins to bring peace. The populations love him, and he settles ancient wars and holds the ears of great leaders. There's talks of a final peace to the galaxy. But something else is amiss.

A pair of agents, from seperate governments (Let's say Republic and OS) find out that he plans to wipe out all Force users. ALL force users, innocent, violent, or not. Once that is complete, he believes he shall have no trouble doing this. How does he plan to do this? A virus that kills midochlorians.

The virus begins to spread as soon as the plot is told to those in power. The man dissapears, and there seems no cure for this disease. As the galaxy tries to contain it, the villian, now calling himself Infinity, continues to spread it at his whim. Anzat is left barren. Tython is empty. Dagobah is a barren husk. And it is getting worse.

Infinity must be caught, and stopped. But can the galaxy pull it off?

And who is this man?

A 'PvP' event might not be bad. Focus on one big galactic war which culminates in a decisive and consequential victory for one side.
Instead of multiple victories leading to a bit of painting on the map (like normal invasions/dominions).

Now, I don't as much have an idea for an entire event, but I like a lot of the ideas I've seen here.

I'm more partial to a more peaceful, character development-focused story however.

But I did have an idea that could be included in almost any kind of bigger picture event. I've seen posts on the internet of a game called "SHATNER."

Now, the game itself isn't my idea, but the random twist of events by writer-determined queues could make any story interesting. We could come up with a short-list of changes to make and writers could interject them into stories at their discretion.
This would only apply to open threads, not private ones, of course, but imagine you're RP is going just fine and someone posts "There's a speeder crashing right towards you!" or "You've been shot in the leg!"

We would of course throw limitations on what could be done, but it could easily keep writers on their toes to have random curveballs thrown at them. Also, these curveballs could easily be designed to fit with the RP Event itself.
For example, if the story is one of these ideas for a virus, you could go into someone's open thread and while they're eating their breakfast, just post "Suddenly So-And-So feels an itch in his throat and coughs, peppering his hand with blood. He knew then he'd been infected."
Bam, just like that. And then the writer has to roll with it. This seems like a good enough community we could pull that off without people abusing one another.

I feel this was poorly explained, but I tried. lol

Drawing inspiration from a couple ideas posted here, the events of the netherworld bring back a new area of space not unlike the Kathol Rift; a vast, undiscovered wilderness of space which has peculiar effects on those who journey to it. Most of those who enter it experience hallucinations and/or gain and lose force abilities. At the same time, there are credible reports of a legendary force-user from the past (Revan, Vader, etc) appearing in that area, leading to a massive manhunt to find, catch, or convert this revenant by most of the factions and even independent characters. People explore the area, set up bases, and vie for influence.

Little do the players know that they are only pawns in larger game between an entity like Dark Styrder or Waru and the Living Force. The Living Force has been purposefully altering the force abilities of those in the area to meet its own ends at destroying the entity, while the entity has created this legendary revenant to draw certain people into the area to entrap them for a sacrifice needed for some ritual that the Living Force is trying to stop.

How about this:

Some sort of vengeful person or creature emerges from the darkness. They are super-powerful, almost invincible. They are sort of like Genghis Khan or Attila the Hun, threatening to destroy all. Nothing like them has ever been seen before. And... both Sith and Jedi have to work together to stop them. Frenemy relationships will be formed, and the ensuing conflicts would be hilarious.

I'd like something paced more to where i can enjoy it. between invasion and dominions I feel panicked or hasted to try and get moving. i never seem to get time to go do a PVP duel really cause takes forever to get people to move us along. [just my experience] and I think something for the new users could be fun. Not to say kick all older vets out just I feel often like I'm stuck amid titans trying to see where i can grow without being murdered.

@Tellos: I kind of get what you mean. I noticed the more established writers really got the engines going during the last event, but it was harder for me to keep up with the pace of everything going on on account of the fact that I'm just new to the community.
No complaints really, the event went REALLY smooth (other events on sites I've participated consisted of a year long planning process and an even slower execution, so this was REALLY impressive to see).
All I need are constraints (time, etc) or circumstances that better suit less ingrained writers.

Well, i already began working on something with the Sith Assassins on Tython, which goes along the lines of its been thousands, and thousands of years since any dark side force users had any influence over that planet, being in the heart of the Deep core, so, with the attraction of the dark side beginning to show itself for the first time in eons there, some of the darker things from deep within the surface of places like Bogan etc begin to rear their nasty heads. Things which the Je'daii made, things which were able to sleep for a long, long time.

Then maybe we can have someone take control of them? Some neutral party that wants to create enough Death to create another Malachor V and wound, if not destroy the force. In an attempt to put the whole galaxy on an even playing field through control of ancient monsters and the current war. They can even take on the Title of Treya.

When the Deep Core turns Dark

Other ideas:

 • Rise of the Kadri-ra Empire
 • Due to the fallout of the Netherworld Event, A force Demon Wakes up, and decides to rip some things to pieces.
 • I like the Aang-tii idea, they swoop in to join against the One sith, but there's less of the villain figure there.
 • Omni strikes back >.>
 • You could Have like, a custom INCREDIBLY powerful neutral world, (one that in theory would be too strong, or not worth battling.) call on all factions in an attempt to put pride and planets on the line with a tournament. Where Duels between factions would settle the states and owner-ships of entire worlds in the galaxy. The higher the tournament brackets get, the more notable the worlds that are handed over. With some strict rules on post times, that could be cool. Players would enter the tournament representing a planet, neutral or otherwise, (powerful players can represent powerful planets, such as Darth Ferus might be able to represent like... Taris for example, while an acolyte would have to represent weaker or less useful planets.) and when they lose, the person who beats them gains the rights to that planet for the faction they represent. It would be a great way to redistribute power, and bring new factions into the setting :) ~
 • Bring on the Vong!
 • Outer-being of insatiable alien power rips through the chiss ascendancy from the outer reaches and threatens all in its wake. Something which can maybe devour living energies, like the force. This would mean Non Force Sensitives would play a big part in bringing it down, and powerful force users would have no effect with their strengths, take them down a peg, let other people shine.

I'm usually not one to get sucked into an event. I end up either being one among hundreds, or I end up stuck writing with/against individuals I would usually choose to distance myself from. The last event... I didn't participate in. I tried to get into it, but the entire event took too much control out of the hands of individual writers for me to really enjoy it. The event before that? Too many people shoved into one thread. Waaaay too hectic for my... spartan posting pattern of... roughly once every day or two. So I'll definitely say that the thread structuring for the last event was much better and much easier to work with and is something to keep in mind for future events.

All the same though... I enjoy building empires and waging wars. Or working towards those goals. I like spaceships... And I love me some pewpew.

I guess one of the reasons I don't get super excited about events is because everything I enjoy doing takes place on the main site all the time. Well... more or less. My chosen faction doesn't always enjoy shooting things like I do.

Anyway... What I look for in an event, as far as mechanics goes, is an opportunity to compete against one or more other factions (with the backing of my own faction) while the eyes of the board are on us and admins and judges alike are reviewing threads to promote fair play and (occasionally) dish out a little chaos. (I loved watching judges pop into threads every time a Force User tried to use their space magic.)

War. Conflict. Allies. Enemies. Politics... These things get my attention much quicker than the Wizard of Oz showing up and sucking everyone into another dimension.

Also, in my idea of the inter-world tournament thing, it also creates an awesome set piece for interaction between factions in a no conflict zone, there might be espionage attempts and other things behind the scenes, which would be followed up on politically for the characters who are into the more 'no combat' type things. There could be a staff rum murder mystery, or something happening at the same time, which would be something a bit different, and could begin to spark more hostility, but, no-one would wanna lash out because of the weight 'this planet' can throw around. So, it pushes people into sort of a cold war during the tourny... real cloak and dagger, friendships could be formed, only to be torn apart later. Shenanigans.

I like this idea >.>
