O Light to Us That Wander Here

That struck Ultimatum as odd. Artificials using organic components to upgrade themselves. He had considered such options before, but had decided that organics tended to be too inefficient to make that an ideal concept. Perhaps he would have to look into it, but for now it was important to work on what they needed to do for this fighter. The first piece of metal had cooled and was in plate form for testing. Ultimatum watched as the piece of metal was moved from its spot into a pressure room for its first battery of tests.

"You said you were making these hybrid units, or attempting to. What kind of species were they? What did you learn of them?" He took a moment to look as the pressure chamber sealed itself before continuing to ask, "What has your company made as the fastest fighter to date? Just out of curiosity." It would give him something to keep in mind for his craft's capabilities.

"I do no know if they were a species before hand but these biodroids were created previously to become different things. Grafting and splicing is much eaiser with them and they were able to be turned into dangerous droid that for all intents and purposes registered as humman except for the need to have a feeding tube." She thought about it with some intent bringing up her fighter and it was one of the fastest interceptors that could deliver deadly shadow bombs when it popped up and the shield was still holding with the different layers. "We have made a fast one, an interceptor able to deliver shadow bombs to enemy ships as needed or just outrun near anything it encounters."

The hybrid droids sounded somewhat normal in so far as the execution of the style. It was not incredibly unique, aside from the end product. It would have been an interesting research example. Why would droids try to become more organic? For Ultimatum it was the opposite, he wanted organics to become more artificial. It was a simple question of which was more efficient, adaptable, and sturdier. The answer in all three was artificial. There was nowhere the organic could go that the artificial could not.

The interceptor idea told Ultimatum a basic idea of what he would need for whatever he might produce. These fighters were not intended to be interceptors, at least not as their main role. They would serve as mainstream fighters, good at defense and offense as they might need. Part of the ship's definite need would be the same type of armor, just a lowering of weapon capacity. Speaking of which, the metal plating had completed its initial battery. The second variation was being moved into the chamber while the first moved on into the next testing room. Ultimatum decided to propose an idea for the shield testing, "If you would like the room the metal is entering will be testing it heat tolerance, perhaps the shield can be tested as well?"

That would serve her purpose very nicely and give her what she wanted to do while working on more of the things. Staying with the different sections they had been developing when she gave him a nod of her head. "That will work, and any sparks of metal will come in handy to see about the melee and kinetic protection functions. The armor we are designing that these shields will go on and function with will provide a great many things we can design for the other things." The bioarmor they were looking to make was going to hopefully be the pinnacle of biotechnology and machines when it came to self upgrading itself and processing resources or morphing equipment.

That [member="Matsu Ike"] had so readily accepted the potentially dangerous method was some surprise to Ultimatum. Of course he should have expected a powerful organic like her to believe in her capabilities to protect her. An understandable belief given the kind of power the Force tended to allow. The door to the chamber opened and Ultimatum nodded for Matsu to enter the room. The concept of what she wanted to put the shield on intrigued Ultimatum, but for now his focus was kept on the fighter and the shield itself.

The first metal piece had failed in the next test, which forced the metal through the sorts of rigors that would be expected in atmospheric flight at high speeds and sharp turns. While no physical damage had occurred, the scans indicated that the metal's integrity was degrading from the turn. It could easily have been left and an a warning issued to not put this metal through prolonged turns. However it was better to make the metal stronger so as to be capable of handling the stresses. That was why the second piece was more durable than the first and the third was supposed to have been lighter, but it would need to wait until this next piece was done.

Matsu stood there at the ready with the shield working to protect her as the testing in the room was going on with her attention to the finer details. The stress testing was important and they had worked to test the jedi starfighter much the same way beefing up the level of protection that came with the ships frame to handle the stresses. There were other ones that had went into theirs such as the speed, the plating and the components being made from the same material so they were strong but lightweight to not impede the general purpose of the ship. Then slap on the performance engine modifications that allowed their ship to reach speeds three times the normal speeds it could reach before. She was looking at what the droid prepared and did with a nod of approval. "Very impressive. What speeds are you hoping for it to reach?"

One of the fastest known fighter proven to be effective was the ancient Rebel Alliance's A-wing. At an atmospheric speed of approximately one thousand three hundred kilometers an hour, a speed that had probably been surpassed by other ships already. However it was a good baseline for interceptor speed, which this fighter would need to be able to at least prove effective against a foe at that speed. The advantage that this craft had would also be a detriment to attempts to reach that speed, that it had greater shields and weapons than the old interceptor would have had. Now that meant that it would need to be fast. "Somewhere near the one thousand kilometer per hour mark is preferable. I guess I will see what the fighter proves to be capable of."

"Those speeds are not always easy but can be done and you need pilots that are able to work with it. Perception and reflexes in human or alien pilots even jedi are sluggish and droid support has been an inportant thing to compensate." She was thinking about it and they had worked hard on a number of sections for the different projects. While the shield protected her in here she was prepared to work with more of what they were providing here as she thought about it. The intercepter she had made exceeded those speeds easily and had a higher performance engine to allow it to accelerate to triple most interceptor speeds... which is why the droid unit within it needed to be almost overclocked to preform and keep up. "Though we should be able to make some very nice fighters with speed and most don't preform in atmosphere."

There were plans to make ships that would work out of atmosphere, the vacuum of space was far too precious in the galaxy to allow others to command it. As far as resources went, space was currently the second greatest, planets being the first. For now though, he wanted to keep this ship from appearing to be a solely invasion tactic, by forcing it to play a more defensive role. That was only temporary of course. These would be weapons of war and future ships would be as well. Thus was the nature of inventions in this time.

The big difference between making a ship capable of working in space and one that works in atmosphere was that the ships had to deal with more resistance in air. Thus ships that were built to handle well in space would often see at least a minor drop in capabilities once they had entered the atmosphere, that was where a ship built for the atmosphere would be capable of out preforming most space-faring fighters. Further, because most ships were built to work in space, there was little competition for such a fighter.

Whats more, Ultimatum was proud of his based technology on droid brains controlling all. At the risk of being called proud, Ultimatum would readily admit to anyone that artificials were superior to organics in most aspects. That was why he worked so hard for them.

"True, but to get the best out of a ship it should be made to work optimally in one element. Specialization is part of what allows for the greatest armies. Having ships capable of fighting in multiple zones and be okay in those areas is definitely a good thing, but focus should be put into creating specialized units for each. Does that make sense?"

"it does." She was looking over some of the things with her attention on it and rollling a few ideas in her mind at that. "Specialized units and that that will be able to work on things while providing a specific task is smart. Once I mostly got the individual things covered I spent my time looking at ways to generalize more ships to be able to do several things. The jedi starfighters we designed are fast, lightweight, made to be used anywhere including underwater so that it will be able to get around the galaxy faster then most. We've also been working on some special upgrades that will go into hyperdrives for some special upgrades that others are not trying."

"That sounds quite intriguing."

There was much that [member="Matsu Ike"] spoke of that interested the technologies were interesting and he would have loved to have spent more time learning what she had planned. Such conversations invariably increased his creative capabilities. However, as it stood he had work ongoing and he could not allow that to be disrupted. The next piece of metal was in place and the room was heating up where Ike was.

It would be time to test its limits, though at the moment Ultimatum was more concerned of what would happen if something went wrong. The temperature in the room was intended to be enough to bring the metal near its melting point, to discover if it could handle the various temperatures it would be subjected to in a combat situation. The melting point of any of the metals in the plating was well above the survival temperatures for organics. In fact, without the shield or Force protection, there was no chance that Matsu wouldn't have burned into oblivion there and then. This was obviously counter-productive to Ultimatum thus he kept careful track of the heating process. If something should go wrong with the shield, he was ready to initiate emergency cooling protocols at a moments notice.

"How's it going in there?"

Emberlene's Daughter, The Jedi Generalist
@Ultimatum"

I am good." Matsu was looking at him and looking at what there was she was working on as it presented a chance and the heat and thermal shielding was working in the shielding unit as well as her normal circlet which regulated temperatures allowing you to stay cool and dry in places where it could get hot like on Eolsha or some of the more intense worlds for environmental hazards. "The heating in here is good I can feel the shield working harder to protect from it as well as the force circlet I crafted for temperature and environmental protection."

Very good, it was working and it did not appear to show any signs of imminent failure, which was a good sign for the extended use of the shield. If it could maintain the strength then Ultimatum saw it as a definite advantage that was worth further development. The droid looked forward to seeing the full extent of its capabilities. If this first true test was anything to go by, [member="Matsu Ike"] would probably have a fully functional shield design.

"Good to hear. Let me know if anything goes wrong." The temperature continued to climb and the metal plate continued to remain the same. The readings from the computer told him that this piece of metal was very likely to survive.

Matsu let all of it work on things when she was walking over to watch as the shield continued to shimmer. "I shall, how are things looking in here?" She said it with a nod of her hed towards the production and they would have been able to handle plenty of the things that were there. Matsu was staying with it until she got to see the shield shimmer and the heat from some slag that was stopped by the kinetic shield. Dispersing it along with the heat as the metal cooled and fell away from her. Matsu was sticking her hand out to feel it but stay safe at the same time before tapping her foot on the metal floor. "This is all working out better then I expected."

Ultimatum traded his attention to the metal and the computer information. The second piece of metal was now deteriorating, however it had surpassed the necessary mark and had proven itself to be even more capable than anticipated. This was turning out to be a good day for this work. Now that he had a metal, all that was required was to refine the construction to create a near perfect design for atmospheric flight.

"I will say this, if that shield failed you would find it incredibly uncomfortable. The temperature is far higher than most organics would be able to survive. The metal has succeeded in the test and will be useful for the fighter. I would say that the heat shielding has worked well under the current conditions. You think you are ready to come out?"

Matsu looked at him with a look on her face as she thought about it and well she was always one to show off and enjoy what she got to see in their reactions... Though it would be a strange thing as she dropped the heat shield and was standing there for a moment until blue energy shimmered around her body absorbing the heat and energy in the room pulling at it. Tutaminis and cryokinesis was a good skills to have and be able to use together. She wanted to put it to a great use. "Well the room would try but there is a lot that a jedi can do that many don't try and use where you can handle the heat and the cold."

As the shield dropped Ultimatum was concerned for [member="Matsu Ike"], the temperature in the room was in excess of three thousand Celsius. In that temperature under most circumstances, the organic's clothes would have burned and more than likely her skin would have melted if she was not simply flash cooked. For a moment he feared, however he remembered that Ike was a Jedi. This action on her part was a small sight into her character beyond the professional realm. It was an insight he had not expected, however it was not unwanted.

"Yes, the Force can preform miracles that defy all science, however there is only so much it can do for each person if I understand it correctly." Ultimatum began lowering the room's temperature.

"It can vary, there are a lot of jedi who do not train the basics and the techniques that increase your stamina with the force. They just go for using the strongest techniques when there are skills that were trained and taught for a purpose." The ability to absorb energy around you and not just tire yourself out for instance was a big one that should b e respected as opposed to shunned because it isn't flashy. Ot how to revitalize yourself so that as a jedi you would have the skills needed to really push yourself, generate and communicate with a planets force signature so you could connect and use it. All of these things she had seen neglected to be taught or even understood by so many jedi.

Even as [member="Matsu Ike"] spoke Ultimatum knew that such words were truth. It was more telling than perhaps the Jedi realized of the organics as beings. Organics in their natural state were drawn to that which could garner the most attention from its fellows. It was a matter of intrinsic value above actual value. A weapon that made a loud noise and looked 'cool' was more likely to be chosen above a more conventional armament. An ability that created an effect that was spectacular in the eyes of the wielder then it was more likely to be used than an ability that may be more useful but is almost invisible. It was a trait that Ultimatum saw all but the most self-controlled organics display at one point or another.

Ultimatum nodded replying, "I agree completely. I wish that more organics understood that fact." The heat had dissipated enough that the entry door Ike had gone through before was now able to be safely opened. Which was what the droid had the computer do. It would be soon that the Jedi could walk out of the room and they could speak more properly face to face.

Matsu looked at the door as it opened and she could go through with a nod of her head to him. he seemed to understand the idea of building up and looking at a foundation to continue to be far better. er attention was on many of the things now though looking over towards him with a nod fo her head. "Yes, some do and I try to teach it to my students so that they will have a general understanding of how to really set things up. To many wish to rush and push ahead instead take the time and develop so that it will be more of an improvement."
