OLD Factory Q&A

If a company used to make something is not owned by a player, where would the product be able to be bought from?
As in a canon corporation not yet submitted by a character? You can simply write it off as your character having obtained it in the past, or do your own thread to buy it from an NPC if you'd like. The factory is entirely optional.

And what do you guys think a good market price for this gun would be? http://starwarsrp.ne...er-riflesniper/
We don't really have a credit system, and most of the shops in the Marketplace section of the Factory don't list prices except for rather expensive things, but as I've noticed with most canon rifles, the upper end would be around 800 credits a rifle.

This inquiry is in regards to the following rule.
2. Ships at or above 1,000 meters will always require a development thread. Minimum: 10 posts, 1 writer.

Does this development thread have to be spaced out over a series of days, or is one allowed to crank out the entirety of the ten posts within one day / night?

Whichever works for your schedule, as long as the thread meets that requirement at a minimum you are good to go.

Would it be okay to make a faction-wide Dev thread? Like in the Mandalorian's IC section, but instead of making armor for myself, making it for fellow faction members? Would it be allowed? And if yes, would there be special rules applying to it?

What you could do is start a thread with the Faction Tag in the Public Roleplays section, putting the title, the Faction Prefix and [Open to Mandos] in the title of the thread. Then yes you could make a set of armor (Such as limited quantity and making it modular allowing individuals to customize to their own preferences).

You would need to also fulfill the requirements of Power Armor, either in the same thread after you complete the forging requirements (20 quality posts for limited production) or in a separate thread.

The rules on Dev Threads can be found here: http://starwarsrp.net/page/articles.html/_/role-play-rules/factory-rules-r19
11. Development threads can be prefixed as Private, Public, Faction, or Dominion, Skirmish, Campaign, Duel orInvasion.*
The Standardization of Dev threads can be found here: http://starwarsrp.net/topic/49109-standardization-of-dev-threads/

and the restricted Materials Here: http://starwarsrp.net/topic/14386-banned-restricted-items-list/

If someone wanted to create a virus or bio-weapon, what template would they use? Technology would be my guess. Also, what would the FJ be looking for in such a submission?
You'll want to put that through the Technology Factory.

FJs will look mainly to balance the submission in regards to things like area of effect, symptoms, lethality, infection rate/time, cures, etc.

Thing is that bioweapons can, and often are, toeing the line of Superweapons, which are banned on the board. Expect a lot of questions and such from our end and, if you have questions on it, don't hesitate to ask. As much as the FJs can appear scary, we're really not. If you have a question on something like that, drop us a line or a PM. Just keep in mind, though, that if an FJ helps you, that FJ won't be judging the submission. You'll be getting another FJ instead.

Sorry for the double post.

Quick Question: Would a virus that turns people into zombies who in turn bite someone turn them into zombie partners be considered a superweapon? Something along the lines of what happened in the book Red Harvest.

A couple of questions.
Company question:
My char lives a double life. Non-force/force user hunting assassin and the owner of the company.
While she is the owner of the company, her council of advisor generally run all aspects of the company.

That being said the company has been handed down from assassin to assassin through the years. So the head company is actually a few lower companies.

whould this require a company submission?
If yes, would I need to add a submission for the main and each of the lower companies?

Would it requie a dev thread?
If yes, what type of information would be required. Whould I be able to do a flash back to the begin of the company which some how linked to my char during her training?

I'm just making sure I'm not breaking any rules and such. As I'm happy to explain (in detail with a thread) as to how my char obtained the things she has.

  1. The factory is entirely optional, in no way are you required to submit your company unless you are requested to by an RPJ (or if you intend to make factory submissions under that company, you will need an approved company or canon company in that case) or Admin following a report.
  2. If you submitted your company you may not own subsidiaries until tier 3, which is outlined in the "How to grow in Tier" thread located in the company section of the factory. You may list some operations that may later on become separate subsidiaries.
  3. Generally speaking, no, you won't require a development thread for your company unless you request an excess of locations and operations for your company (which must start out at tier 2 or below). Generally you are allotted 2 locations (headquarters counts) and 2 operations at tier 2, although operations may vary in amount depending on what you are requesting as some operations are very expensive and difficult to manage for a small company while also running other operations. (i.e; Shipbuilding & Cloning). If you were to be requested to do a development thread it would be explained what is wanted by the judge reviewing your submission at that point, and likely at 10 posts, but will in most cases involve doing a thread that justifies the money and logistics required to secure more locations or operations.
