One Day A Jedi And A Mandalorian Walked Into A Bar

Verd Skirata

Verd Skirata walked into the bar he had mentioned to Armand, on the way back from their most recent salvage operation. He hoped [member="Armand Temi"] would be there soon. he walked up to the bartender and asked if there was a private booth open, just for security's sake. It just happened there was one left. he tossed a 20 cred chit to the bartender and ordered "Somethin' with a bite". he recieved his drink and went over to the aforementioned table. He sat down and waited for his jedi friend to arrive, he hoped it wouldn't be long.

Armand walked into the bar, squinting a bit in the dark. He looked around and saw Verd Skirata sitting in a booth, nursing a drink. He came over to his friend, smiled and took off his long black coat. Then he slipped into the booth across from the Mandalorian.

"Hi Verd, it's good to see you again. How are things?" Armand signaled a pretty Twi'lek cocktail waitress and ordered a Geillian Ale.

"So tell me about the Rebel Alliance and how I can be of help?"

"Hey yourself." Skirata replied. "Well first things first, I want to let you know that we have made a lot of enemies,The Red Ravens, The One Sith,The Emperial Remnant, to name a few, In fact we are even on the bad side of Lords of The Fringe. Just so you understand what you are doing" He motioned for Temi to have a seat. "The pluses are you have a lot of friends who will watch your back, and you will be serving the greater good of the galaxy." He pauses stopping only to sip his beverage. "You are a Jedi, and a Medical practitioner, a fine one at that. Both of these things will contribute greatly to our cause. I don't think we really have a medic or a medical facility yet, and both are a necessity when it comes to waging war on injustice. Someone always gets hurt, and I would like it to be them more than us, but that doesn't always happen. When it doesn't I'd rather have a bu'nas'a good medic than a great team of superior fighters.

[bu'nas'a] - damn

"I would tend to agree with you Verd, about having a good medic," he said, drinking down his ale. "And don't worry - I've seen my share of fighting. I was just involved in a war on Kashyyyk. I was with the Ession Reformation Peacekeepers fighting against the Sith." Armand stopped. The battle he had been a part of was bloody and costly in terms of deaths and destruction to the vibrant environment of the planet. He shook his head. "It's exactly why I'm interested in the Rebel Alliance. To put a stop to the mindless slaughter that The One Sith and its allies are imposing on the galaxy."

When Mr. Skirata said he was a fine medical practitioner, the Hapan doctor said: "Thank you for the kind words. I was worried there on the salvaging operation that everyone thought I was an evil scientist who wanted to re-create that Sith virus and unleash it on the innocent." He laughed. "I suppose my eagerness for a scientific rarity got in the way of rationale thought. And for that I'm sorry."

"Yeah, I heard about Kashyyk. nasty stuff that was." He took another swig of his drink. "But war is war, we all have to fight for what is right, if only to save the good in the galaxy. That is why I joined The Rebel Alliance." He stated this hoping to draw Temi into their organization. "Of course I'll still remain loyal to Mandalore, but I also have a new family to protect, And I intend to do that to the best of my ability." He paused to let [member="Armand Temi"] think about this. "Should you accept my offer to join the rebellion, You would become a brother to me. I always come to help my family out."

"Thank you, Verd," replied Armand. He thought for a minute at the proposition. During his young lifetime he had already helped the Republic and it's allies but lately their cause seemed diluted and fraught with politics. And then there was the One Sith and various criminal networks in the galaxy which he wanted no part of.

If Armand stayed on Hapes... well due to his status and sex he would be relegated to a small government post at best and some noblewoman's servant at worst. Besides Hapes was an extremely paranoid and insular planet - he would never have nearly the same kind of adventures he had already had with Verd and Ms. Brightsky.

"I gladly accept," Armand said and he raised his glass for a toast. "To the rebellion!"

"Hey kid, you do know this is a public bar right? Use your brain, If we have public enemies, the worst thing you could have said, well, you just yelled it." Verd looked around at the patrons of the bar, and quite a few of them were staring in their direction. "Well, you've done it now. Why not, " Verd said. "To the rebellion!" he said cheerfully, then downed the rest of his glass, then quickly put on his helmet. "I hope you have your saber" He said calmly. [member="Armand Temi"]. "Because you sir are going to need it." He got up and started walking towards the door hoping he could get out before someone started a bar fight, which was really just a hopeful thought. Sure enough, some idiot pulled his blaster and said, "Whoa, slow down there, you weren't thinking about leaving so soon were you? We have to teach you a lesson now, about who you hang out with. Especially in this bar, Right boys." He grinned maliciously. "Right!" Almost everyone in the bar yelled. Verd didn't give them a chance to react, he punched the goon who decided to pull the blaster on him, knocking him out instantly. He was glad he had his Beskargam it would certainly make not dying in this fight a lot easier. He then made his way back through the angry patrons to Temi.

What a faux pas he had made, Armand thought cursing himself. There was a lot to learn about being a Rebel. Verd seemed to take it all in stride aside from the initial chastisement. The Hapan doctor needed to be more careful now that he was part of an underground organization.

However he did have his lightsaber on him so when Verd instructed that he pull it out, he did so but didn't ignite it, not wanting to attract anymore attention than he already had by shouting out toasts to the rebellion! And sure enough it seemed like the whole bar was about to erupt in chaos. Humans and creatures alike were shouting at the two of them now and Armand watched as Skirata easily downed one of the patrons with a surefire fist.

Wow, if this is the reaction the Rebels get on a regular basis I wonder what the real enemies will do to us, thought the Hapan as he watched Skirata approach him and ignited his saber so they could fight their way out of the angry bar.

"Well, I was hoping this fight could be avoided, but looks like there isn't much cance of that now." Skirata said catching a blow on his forearm, and returning the favor by sending an angry twilek flying into 2 of his friends. he turned and punched a human male that was pulling his blaster to shoot at [member="Armand Temi"]. "Try not to kill anyone with that saber of yours." Skirata warned. "It only makes 'em angrier." He started working his way through the crowd towards the door hoping His friend would take the hint. If they could get outside, they could close the door and use Temi's saber to fuse it shut temporarily, giving them a chance to escape to his ship, A Beskaad-class Patrolship, which was rigged with a slave circutry unit. He had already pressed the activator to bring it somewhere close. he just hoped it would get to them in time.

Instead of using his light saber in this bar fight - which really seemed not to be the intended use for it - he used the Force to create an invisible barrier and pushed the angry, riled-up crowd back. He skirted past them as they all flew into each other, into the bar and slammed against the wall, enough to crack some ribs even.

Armand met Skirata at the door and smiled. "I've had enough of this bar, haven't you?" He followed Verd's instructions to fuse the bar door shut and followed the Mando to his ship.

"Most definitely my friend. That was some stunt you pulled back there, but I guess I shouldn't have suggested a bar well within enemy territory." He decided he had to apologise. "I am sorry vod, I guess I wasn't thinking. I Shouldn't have chosen that bar to have the talk in in the first place." He admitted. "I hope you understand what you are up against now if you do choose to join us. but for now how bout I pour you a drink, seeing as to how you only had a little of your's anyhow." He walked over to his cooler and opened it up. "So what'll it be?"
[member="Armand Temi"]

Armand was still catching his breath after entering Skirata's ship. Even though the Mando kept warning him of the danger of joining the Rebel Alliance, this was definitely the type of excitement he had craved his whole life. He was more sure of joining than anything. He just needed to practice being more secretive. Especially when communicating with his nosy noble Hapan family who seemed to always want to know what he was up to at any given time.

"I'm an ale and wine man myself, Verd," he replied. "But after that escapade, I'll drink just about anything."

"How bout some Corellian Ale, I had some stowed away in case I ever needed something as strong as that, and I guess nows a good a time as any." He pulled out 2 glasses and poped the ale open, filling both cups, then set the bottle down on a table next to him. "To the rebellion!" He said, mimicking the same event that had started the brawl. "Boy am I glad to have a z6 naval droid that is a halfway decent pilot. Do you have a ship nearby, or would you prefer to have a little more action before heading home?"
