Overall story.
I see us as extension of the EU New Republic. Think opposed to Tyranny and Corruption.
With that in mind I think a good story arc against an NPC enemy is the way to go. I had a few in mind. Starting at Serpena and expanding since we are still minor this will be purely story based.
First one was three fold. Overall
-Military wise
The Blazing Chain's, a sect of Dark Jedi pirates are raiding in and around Panatha, conscripting folks and causing the populace fear. It's our duty to stop them and restore security
-Economic and Humanitarian
The Economies of the nearby worlds are suffering. A resurgence of the Gulag Plague called the Black Sickness is spreading, killing most organics in it's path. This one will require Jedi Healers and Medical folk to help stop the spread.
Meanwhile we need our piloty types to fly missions to these worlds and bring supplies to keep them afloat.
-Political
The nearby worlds are asking to be annexed into the fledgeling New Republic. Political ties are being established and they are prime to install NR governors.
Electing our first president, creating our first laws and political deals and negotiation threads with these worlds will be paramount.
Remember there are two Parties at play within the government, each with their own agenda. Good for Political types, lot's to work with.
I would ike to eventually coordinate as rivals with the FO, but first we need to write and put ourselves on the map.
