Faction Direction

Flint Dexen

Wandering Lost Soul
Let's just chillax, friends.

I don't see a need for us to be stressing too much on this. Besides the fact that we already have an awesome faction leader like Kiskla Grayson to lead us, whatever happens is going to be a lot of fun to write about. And I think that's what matters the most. :D

I mean --- unless we want to just turn into the GA by ourselves.

And reformat everything into the GA without OP -- so instead be the GA instead of the Republic.

Like the name change and direction CIS took when it turned into ASA.

But my hope is still for a minor faction Jedi Order.

So then, assuming that the vote goes through as it currently stands right now, we're going to become the Galactic Alliance without merging with the Omegao Order. How would people like to change the Galactic Republic into that form?

The Admiralty
I ain't sure if that would make much sense. Most of the proposal stemmed from the new influx of members and input, a simple rebranding wouldn't change much of the inherent problems that plague the faction right now.

In many ways it would still be the Republic.

I'd say that everyone that voted for the Galactic Alliance proposal take the opportunity to reevaluate the two other options and change their vote.

I'm not going to vote, because I haven't been active with this character at all.

I'd just like to say that if you go Rebellion, there's already a Rebellion faction in existence, so you might want to take that into account. Not sure how you do, but I just think it's important that you don't ignore them if that's the route that people favor.

I say we stand and fight, the sith he attacked the republic and wound up losing, and from the Merger with OP wouldn’t hold up as most of them left us due to stuff like, if you don’t want to put the effort in to running the Republic anymore hand it over to some else. I have 4th option than the ones an alliance with OP to curtail the Sith threat. Both would maintain their independence as a faction but we have their assistance in fighting the sith.

As I understand it, I think that 4th option has already happened, at least at the re-invasion of Alderaan.

You're correct. An alliance has de facto existed for a while. OP provided support at the first battle of Coruscant (well, HK was there with his troops and so was Sio) and then an OP fleet helped the Republic at Carida. Likewise OP's failed invasion of Coruscant was part of an attempt to aid the Republic by driving the Sith from it. OP aid showed up at the last battle of Alderaan (HK and Sio, though she's not really OP, just lives there).

And if I recall correctly a number of Jedi showed up as aid for OP when ASA tried to invade Naboo. Recently Aurelia and Ayden had a meeting where the latter agreed to formalise the de facto military alliance.

That took awhile to read. Lol. :p

  • We should merge with OP to create a PvP powerhouse of participation. This Faction was created to PvP.
Also,
  • Thanks to everybody who showed up to talk in this thread. It gives me great hope to see so many passionate people around the table again. Especially with some new faces this time. It's just like how the Faction was founded last year. Bringing all the passion and dedicated players under one roof and kicking some bad guy butt. Oh yeah.
  • Second. I'll wait until the FA's make a decision about this before speaking further. Cheers guys! :D

Since it seems OP will vote down the merger, and thus it will fail, perhaps a new vote should be called between the two remaining options?
Especially since rebadging ourselves anything else without doing anything would be pretty futile.

I would also call for the exponents of the 'Return to the Shadows' plan to give concrete details on how they see this new method working. Specifically:
  • Will the faction remain a major faction? If so where?
  • If it's a minor faction, what are your future plans to actually damage the Sith?
  • Will the Jedi be split from this faction, and if so, how will this faction be organised and led?
  • And finally, if we devolve into a Rebellion, will we join with the existing anarchist faction or form our own?

I agree, also you have to remember the mandos seeking to reclaim their former glory and power hence the alliance with sith or at least there used be one, the mandos a warriors seeking fight the deadliest foes in the galaxy right now it the Jedi and the Republic, sooner or later they will realize the sith being true to their nature will never let them fully assert control even over their own affairs, and the mandos will turn on the sith.

I've run out of likes already today, so this was the only way to reference my agreement.

If we can channel only a fraction of the passion we've generated in this thread then whichever option prevails will be fun to develop - and whoever stands in our way had better be ready for us!

A few posts ago you didn't believe the Republic could change its direction, continue the fight - what changed besides the fact that your push for a Galactic Alliance has been rendered moot by the members of the Protectorate?

Because now you suddenly want the Republic to stay as is and that confuses me, when you yourself have already stated that it ain't got what it takes to keep running.
If the members of the OP choose not to merge with us, do you think we'd be better off without any type of structure? If you guys want to RP a Rebel Alliance, then what is honestly stopping you? Resources? Planets to control? Ect? Your statements confuse me as well, as much as your vote does.

"I want it to fall and go into Rebellion!" Ok, so, leave the Republic and go be a Rebellion? If you don't want it to succeed either as an Alliance or as it stands, then go? I mean, I can spin things into a totally different direction too.

Just saying.

It is simple: You can complain and do nothing, or you can complain and do something about it.

Fix the problems or don't. You know the consequences of not taking action. Everyone here is a writer like the next person. Really, if you guys want to win out on alternates and do others like that - You make your own bed.

Well there we go sports fans sounds like a second round of voting may be in store.

/me goes back to my threads and waits.

Give there there seems to be a perfect split amongst the faction on what to do, and as someone with outside perspective and with no strong vested interest in any particular outcome (The merger isn't a necessity of dying factions, just an idea), I'll say this much.

Whatever is decided, it seems pretty clear that someone is not gonna be happy. Don't fracture and fight amongst yourselves when that happens. Don't abandon the Republic if the direction that is decided up isn't one you're particularly excited about. We don't always get what we want, but that shouldn't mean we shouldn't do everything we can to make a different choice succeed.

And whatever happens, trust in Kiskla and the other Republic leaders. Their job is to guide the faction to the best place they can and do everything they can to make it a place everyone is happy to roleplay. I know that's how I view my position as faction leader at OP.

True, I see it this way if Sith attacks and wins we would be a rebellion against the sith, and if we hold or win the Republic stands.
