COMBAT INFORMATION: The combination of Unit Size and Availability below is the indicator of how numerous your unit is. Stormtroopers for instance would be considered Large/Common, while Rogue Squadron would be a Small/Unique unit. Majority Force User Units are prohibited from being Common or Large. The stronger and more specialized your unit is (FU or NFU), the smaller and less common it should be.

GENERAL INFORMATION

[*]Description: The Illmanii Guard serves as the premier home defense Cohort for the Fringe Imperium inside the 1st Legion. Armed with Ballista Rifles, Rocket Launchers and Hastatii Class armor, they patrol the streets of Illmane and man most of the Major Garrisons there. They know the terrain like the back of their hands a re are handpicked from the most expert fighters of the Legions.

  • Unit Experience: Veteran
  • Combat Function: The Illmanii Guard primary function is home defense. They can function with support or without, and are commonly engaged in joint training exercises with less trained units to sharpen the Cohort's skills. They are skilled in urban combat as well as large force on force engagements. Their attitudes are humble, as it is a great honor to be selected to serve as an Illmanii guard. Many consider them the shield of the people.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

The Ilmanii guard have a history that stretches back to the colonization of Illmane. They are fabled to be the Emperor Titus first Militia Unit back when he was a captain. Since then they have evolved into a larger more disciplined professional force. They live by a warriors code, strict rules of Engagement and Conduct as well as oversight from the Senate.

By the time of the second Xeno purge of Illmane the Ilmmanii Guard had assimilated some of the best warriors of the day into their ranks. They frequently cherry pick experienced commanders and Veteran Legionaries close to retirement to serve in their ranks. Their only and sole responsibility since their inception has been to guard Illmane against Invasion.

GENERAL INFORMATION

[*]Description: The Illmanii Irregulars serve as the Premeier Unconventional Warfare Cohort of the 1st Legion. Armed with Ballista Rifles, Rocket Launchers and Hastatii Class armor, they patrol the wilds of Illmane as well as live within the city of Drengar. They are only called into service once the Illmanii Guard is confronted with a UW threat, or are about to fall.


COMBAT INFORMATION:

  • Unit Experience: Elite
  • Combat Function: The Illmanii Irregulars primary function is home defense and counter UW. They can function with support or without, and are commonly aloof of helping other units unless necessary.

  • Skilled in the art of Irregular Warfare they strike from the Wilds and from within in quick lightning fast raids, then disappear again. They also have the ability to adapt, improvise weaponry and tactics, and win the support of the populace. A major part of their job is influencing and advising. Most of the men and women are drawn from Frontier folks and prisoners seeking redemption. They are a rough and tumble crowd who value strength and wit above all else, dislike order and rules, and take no crap.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

The Ilmanii Irregulars are a more recent Cohort in the 1st Legion. Drawn from the most savage of fighters, they are trained in every art and artifice of warfare. They live and breathe struggle, and hardship. to They have trained considerably over the years to attain a high level of basics and lethality.

Formed under the command of Marius Darkheart, they inhabit the Marian Wastes of Illmane, as well as the mountains. To date they have seen no battles other than small raids on Ssi-Ruvi Incursions.

GENERAL INFORMATION

[*]Description: The Illmanii Engineers serves as the Primary support for the other Cohorts of Fringe Imperium inside the 1st Legion. Armed with Ballista Rifles, Rocket Launchers, Hastatii Class armor, tools and explosives they oversee most construction and destruction needs of the Emperor and the Legion. They can build, destroy, sabotage and man fighting positions as needed.

  • Combat Function: The Illmanii Engineers function is home defense. They are specially trained to be the supporting arm of the Legion and other Cohorts within. In addition to building, destroying, sabatoge and combat, they undertake most of the civil service engineering needs of the Illmanii people. A humble unit with a long history they are a respected part fo the Legion.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

The Ilmanii Engineers history begins after the second Xeno Purge of Illmane. They were stood up and commissioned to build all of Drengar, the Red Keep and just about every installation on Illmane.


By the time of Illmane making contact with the larger galaxy they were well trained and experienced in their craft. To date they have seen few major battles, save the occasional destruction of a leftover Ssi-Ruvi incursion.

[*]Description: The Emperors Eyes are the most feared Cohort on illmane. Serving inside the 1st Legion it is their sworn duty to snuff out heretical Xeno sympathizers; Dissidents; Rebels and the like. They are also commissioned to catch spies, collect intelligence, and Guard the Great Library. Their armor is Hastatii but painted jet black. Their tools are deception, brute force and finesse. They have a penchant for extreme violence and aggression, have no oversight save the Emperor and do not work well integrated with any other Cohort.

  • Combat Function: The Emperors Eyes function is home defense and Inquisitors. They are specially trained in all aspects of war, intelligence gathering and Combating force users.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

The Emperors Eyes are a very new unit to the 1st Legion and Illmane. With the events of the Netherworld and the events of spies infiltrating them, they were stood up in secrecy and operate thusly.

No one knows very much about them, save for the glint of black Armor you may catch between rows of tomes in the Great Library and rumors in a pub.

They do not deviate from their task and will carry it out to their graves. They know no fear and have been trained to resist the force.

  • Combat Function: The Praetorian Guard function as the Elite Defenders of the Emperor and the Red Keep. They do not leave the Red Keep unless the Emperor leaves it himself. They fight to the last man. They never retreat. They never surrender.

The Praetorian Guard are the Emperors hand picked and trained Unit. They've been around since the dawn of the of Illmanes Colonization and passed down their tactics and training throughout the centuries. They are only ever called to service outside the Red Keep if the Emperor himself steps foot outside to lead the defense. It has been very rare to see over the years.

GENERAL INFORMATION

[*]Description: The 1st Shocktrooper Cohort is a Veteran Combat unit in the Illmane system. They are skilled at warfare and heavily armored. They fight primarily force on force, and can take a beating. The 1st Shocktroopers are designed to strike the enemies of the Imperium hard and sacrifice themselves if need be in glorious battle. Led by a Sergeant and a Commander, bearing the Golden Eagle as their coveted standard, they are stalwart defenders of the Throne.

  • Unit Experience: Veteran
  • Combat Function: The 1st Shocktrooper Cohort is a Veteran Infantry Unit. Deployed strategically they are the second line of Combat during an invasion. They wait until the enemy has been worn down by the initial fodder, find the weakpoints in the enemies strategy and then smash forwards with all their might. Heavy armor and weapons are their favorite, and total destruction is their mantra. If they lose their Standard one out of every ten men is put to sword for the disgrace. Morale is always high.

The 1st Shocktrooper Cohort is the pride of the 1st Legion. They are considered the true professionals, above even the Illmane Guard. Where the other Cohorts fail, the 1st Shocktroopers are sent to carry the day. They are a long standing unit, who've seen action since the Dark Harvest event in every major conflict of the Illmane System.

They frequently engage the enemy, strike and slip away. They are masters of survival, and guerilla tactics. Rarely do they use heavy weapons, considering an up close and personal kill a better honor and a little more stealthy.

GENERAL INFORMATION

[*]Description: The 3rd Battery of Armor specializes in Heavy Armor support to the front lines. Typically they favor battle tanks over any other pieces and lead the Infantry Cohorts in the charge. They are considered professional Soldiers and the Very Tip of the Armor Spear when it comes to battle and invasion.

  • Unit Experience: Trained
  • Combat Function: The 3rd Battery of Armor is a standard Heavy Armor Unit. They ride into battle in the Imperiums largest pieces and relish a good fight. Typically they are the very first line of assault, leading columns of tanks into the fight, with infantry right behind them to mop up. They are considered crazy and quite suicidal at times.

  • Combat Function: The 2cnd Engineers function is Expeditionary Engineer Support. They are specially trained to be the supporting arm of the Legion and other Cohorts within. In addition to building, destroying, sabatoge and combat, they undertake most of the civil service engineering needs of the 2cnd Legion. A humble unit with a recent history they are a respected part of the Legion.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

The 2cnd history begins after the 2cnd Legion was formed. They were recruited and trained by a veteran Cadre from the Illmanii Engineers. They have always been considered a strong and integral part of the Legion.

They have seen no major combat to date.

GENERAL INFORMATION

[*]Description: The 1st Scouts are a more specialized unit. Acting as the sole long range Sniper unit, Forward Observers and Air Attack Controllers, they have a multi role mission. This unit is trained by a Cadre of Irregulars and works hand in hand with the Armor Batteries and just about every other unit. They are a strong supporting unit.

COMBAT INFORMATION:

  • Unit Experience: Trained
  • Combat Function: The 1st Scouts engage the enemy from long ranges with their rifles and take out HVT's or pin down units. Their secondary role is to find targets for the Artillery Batteries in the rear and call in rounds. Their third role is painting targets for Air Strikes or calling in reinforcements.

  • Vulnerable to Counter Sniper Units
  • Weaker against Irregular Warfare Units; Counter Intel Units
  • Weaker against Veteran and above Units.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION

The 1st Scouts are a newer unit to the 2cnd Legion. Called into service and trained by Irregulars they have been integrated as a key supporting element to the invasion forces of the 2cnd Legion.

They have seen no major combat to date.
