Matsu felt it and remained focused as she let some of the force energy settle to watch things. She could feel Sorel had questions but remained focused until she could hold it, suspend it upon a moment in time with people milling about below them in the streets, some ships on the water while men in bright robes were moving a palanquin on the island. "It is not easy to do and we need to stay within to not interrupt." With Corvus they had looked back on lessons from some of the oldest jedi masters to learn from them about the force without them knowing about them, the pair had been enjoying it to learn some of the more prominent lessons within the force. "It is something not many can do or try but the information can be invaluable."

Ready are you? What know you of ready?
Of course every moment that passed brought additional questions to Sorel’s mind. Could they travel back in time? Could they travel to another location in the same time-frame? Oh, and so many more ideas were rattling through her brain — all simultaneously.

Of course the most prominent thought was one that always came to the front of her mind first. Will you teach me?

But she remained quiet and calm and listened, taking in the sights but also observing how the Force felt to her. She always found this useful when learning about Force abilities, so she could know what to replicate when she tried for herself.

Matsu stayed at it and as the force energies around the bubble were stable she could feel Sorel had questions and wonder in her face. matsu stood there with a nod of her head while she placed on the shoulder of the girl. Looking out upon the city as it was massive and bustling with people to give them some information. The people seemed to be advanced in some ways but were still not showing signs of advanced space travel or technology on par with the galaxy... However Matsu was noting their decorations and how the buildings seemed to almost radiate with force energies. More large crystals across each reflecting in the sun and the look of beings bringing the black stone in small amounts on large carts.

Sorel felt entirely calm — despite the magnitude of what they were doing. That was how she invariably felt with her Master close by. Time spent with her was always instructive and invariably entertaining. Sometimes it was tough and often mentally taxing. But one thing it never was…was dull.

So she took notice once more of what surrounded them. The crystals in particular were taking her attention. And the black stone — somehow Sorel wondered if the two were in some way linked. She resolved to ask her Master the first opportunity she got.

Looking at Sorel as she seemed to have a question at things, there was a lot of energy being used but she knew many of the things here. Her connection to the force and ability to generate it from the planet itself to aid in her own techniques has given Matsu plenty to work with. "You have a question?" Matsu said it with a small look on her face though while she placed her hand on her shoulder. She was reaching out with the force and observing the world itself, the stone and the crystals as she could feel them pulling at the force energy within it to work and improve their own lives maybe. Seemed the light were all working much like the fireglass she used. "The stone can you see and feel it? It absorbs and amplifies the ambient energy radiating off the crystals to then amplifies it into the lights to provide power."

Ready are you? What know you of ready?
Sorel smiled. “I have a thousand so I have to prioritise.” So she quickly reviewed all the things she wanted to know and prioritised them in her head. “And yes, the power is intensified, some sort of Force amplifier? And if so, it must have many practical applications, surely? But that wasn’t my first question,” she added with a chuckle.

“OK, my first and main question. This is in effect a time machine, at least a viewing portal through time. Can it also travel through space, to another place at the time we are now?”

Matsu looked at her and she was perspective as she spoke. "Yes it could but it is a very intense and dangerous technique to do. Moving through space and time is one thing.... moving to see into the past from an area is less straining. It took myself and another master with the one teaching us to observe a lesson several hundred years prior. This is nearly forty thousand years into the past." Matsu said it while looking at the materials and it was likely able to absorb and amplify the energy it stored. She had seen some materials that could rebound what it absorbed or struck. The jedi master remained there watching when she turned to look at some of the other things with the humanoid being were selling plenty of things including some of the large crystals in multi colored variations.

Sorel listened and realised she had underestimated how much power and control Matsu was using to show her the planet some forty thousand years in the past. She couldn’t resist a sharp intake of breath at the magnitude of the Force her Master was wielding.

So she parked her other questions and instead simply enjoyed the experience — centring herself in the here and now, relishing the unique opportunity she was able to witness. And then she saw the crystals and she was transfixed.

Matsu left it there while she was watching all of it to get a general idea of the world they were exploring and working on but she did as Sorel did. She moved to watch how they were working with the crytals. It was different sizes and colors in a way but she knew the legends of the kyber crystals. The largest and oldest ones had been used for purposes other then just in a lightsaber. They had been at the heart of weapons and technology. If it was possible this was a pre republic civilization that had used such things and maybe they had been visited long ago or some of their works discovered. It could just be they learned and tried things as it didn't seem they had advanced to hyperdrive or even hypergates yet and yet they were also living in some obvious comfort with science and technology as well as using something mystical. "Are you ready to head back?"

Sorel Crieff

Ready are you? What know you of ready?
Sorel nodded in response to question. She was ready to head back, but a question popped into her mind as she watched the people working with the various crystals. “Master. I sense these people use the crystals as part of their everyday life. Does this mean they are in some way Force sensitive, or do the crystals simply serve a purpose by themselves. And if they are not Force sensitive, I wonder how they came to learn of the crystals’ properties?”

Matsu looked at her. "A mixture of both I would imagine, the force works in ways many do not always know and these people could all be able to touch the force or a handful of them in each generation or none of them. Force crystals can be used when they are potent enough by non force users but whatever happened to them I am not certain. We have no records from what I can see of their looks and this world is silent. It is likely that like many species within the galaxy they simply died out or tried something over the centuries that led to their extinction." She was looking at it and heading back to where she was in the center slowly coming out of it. THe bubble going golden with shimmers of silver and blue shades. They were returning as the sunlight pierced through it revealing the desert and Matsu sat there on the wall. "It is a mystery to see but you never know what we might uncover."

Sorel Crieff

Ready are you? What know you of ready?
Sorel often wondered what it would be like not to be able to use the Force. Or even feel its presence. To her it would be similar to having no sight or not being able to hear. Perhaps you didn’t miss what you’ve never known? Regardless, she was glad she was a Jedi and the Force was her ally.

The bubble was changing colour as her Master used the Force to return them to the present time. Finally, the familiar view and strong sunlight told her they journey had ended and they were back to the present.

“I enjoy mysteries Master,” Sorel said as she sat on the wall next to Matsu. “Even if we can’t solve them. I suspect the Force and the galaxy are like that. There will always be things we don’t fully understand. Or think we do, only to find out later we didn’t appreciate everything.” She smiled. “Thank you Master, the experience was unforgettable.”

Unforgettable was one way to look at it. The other as Matsu was standing there for a moment was altering. She didn't deny that even with artifacts like the heart of the universe a stone that was valued for its deep connection to the force or the fell star or the eye of the sun that it was still something she rarely used because of how truly dangerous it could be and returnign tot he present as they were standing there. Matsu looked at Sorel offering her a smile. "You are welcome, it is not an experience I have fully stopped thinking about either Sorel. You can learn a lot if you use it correctly and in some cases go back and asnwer age old questions. Like for us here." She was looking at it and one of the questions they had was answered. The purpose of the large crystals? They used them for power and as a means of day to day. Matsu moved down off the wall for herself and Sorel down to the ground while she was touching the wall and could feel the crystals uncovering them from the dust while they glowed in the light.

Sorel had a thirst for knowledge and this experience was high on the wish-list - but she was pragmatic enough to appreciate that such power was some way away for her. Maybe never.

"Power? Do they use the Force or is there some other way they draw power? And either way, is there a practical application? I wonder if I could use them on my ship."

A practically application, the jedi could find a way if she was working it out correctly with how they might be able to change it. "It is possible, with the right crystals we could be able to create empowered gear that uses force energy and crystals to power it up." She was thinking about it while nodding with her thoughts for Sorel's idea. The jedi master looked over some of the bigger things they had to work with. She went through the town clearing some more of it when she was letting the padawan go around and exploring around. "We will be able to work with it and find new things to construct when we are moving forward. I have some plans for the things we can work with and create for the future of the jedi. Your skill has been showing through and your perceptions of the galaxy itself. I am proud of it."

Sorel had her faults but vanity was not one of them. Nor was greed. She appreciated her Master's comments but did not let them go to her head. She had learned plenty here and seen more than she suspected most Jedi would.

So she continued to observe and refrained from stuffing her pockets with crystals. She had a couple from before and decided that was sufficient. When she was given the gift of time, she would study them and see what practical applications she could put them to.

Sorel then wandered around, looking for anything she might have missed upon first glance but saw nothing of significance and so after some minutes searching returned to her Master's side.

Matsu worked with Sorel and had a small look on her face when she was working with her whens he was walking through the streets with Sorel. She had been scouring and searching while walking but not raiding the homes yet. That could come with research teams while they were pressing forward to one of the other walls looking out over the desert and she could see more structures scattered across it. There was also the many many dune stretching out everywhere while the jedi master pointed to show them with a small look breathing in. "The air might be hotter but the feeling of the force is stronger the deeper we go into the desert. We migt find more answers there."

Sorel Crieff

Ready are you? What know you of ready?
Sorel could sense it. She was only a Padawan and was not consciously using the Force - yet the feeling that the Force was growing stronger was apparent to even her. She was unsure if this was a by-product of the crystals or just a natural phenomena, as it was on many planets, but she kept her eyes and ears open.

Often the increase in the Force was linked to a previous event, and not always a positive one. Yet they were in a desert and Sorel wondered what they might find to explain the situation, all the while keeping close to her Master. "I shall be watchful," she said, "Answers are invariably good to know, even if they aren't good in themselves!" She smiled as she spoke.

Staying with Sorel before she started to walk into the desert, the feeling of the force and the look of the desert in the dusk hued night sky gave the jedi master a small look of approval. This was all a very nice thing they would be able to see. The trekking into the desert though would give them a bigger thing to work with before some of her ideas pushed the force outwards when the desert seemed to change a little rocky formations in the night but they were glowing nd pulsing when it came to a massive crater in the desert. Crystals jutting from the ground that showed signs of erosion and wear in the wind and sand until they were smooth to the touch. Matsu was climibing a little to look in and it was massive filled with crystals and dark cave entrances. "Beautiful."

Sorel was comfortable in her own company and in her Master's too. She did not feel the need to fill every available moment with speech and appreciated that her Master could walk with her and they could simply think and experience without having to constantly talk. For Sorel this was in part because she'd spent a few years travelling alone - but she'd never been the most vocal Youngling, preferring to listen and reflect as opposed to talk the most or the loudest.

So she soaked up the atmosphere, the changing desert landscape and the fact that the Force was growing stronger with very step they took. She didn't need to mention it to her Master, she knew that she already sensed it.

Finally they reached a massive crater and Sorel sucked in a large mouthful of air with a loud gulp. The site was beautiful and promised so many new places to explore. Finally she was able to speak. "Where to first, Master?"
