Looking over everything that was there she might be able to discover some of the things and searching all of it was a desired outcome but best to focus on where they could. This crater was massive and showed that things had been taken likely across the world. matsu pointed for Sorel towards one of the larger caves where they seemed to have scaffolds and carts of equipment. They likely had mined from it when she was moving down the sides of the crater into it with all of the crystals and stone when she touched it. "The site is old, likely an impact that they found when they were developing and were able to use it for a technological basis. Much like some human cultures and meteors providing metal that they were able to use."

Sorel Crieff

Ready are you? What know you of ready?
Sorel glanced around and looked where her Master pointed. Clearly this area was used for mining and on an industrial scale. "Are there likely to still be crystals or ores to be found?"

She looked around, trying to see if all of the caves looked as though they had been mined. It would be a shame to have found it and then find it had been mined out.

Was there a chance things were still there. This seemed massive and likely there was always stuff left over. "I think there might be, this all looks rather large and we should be able to find plenty of crystal." She said it with a small look grabbing one of the glow rods and activating it with a small look around the caves where they showed signs of being mined with tools. The left overs long since rusted and showing they might likely fall apart if touched while she motioned to veins of crystal along the walls that were being uncovered and cracks leading into smaller tunnels or shafts to have air. "The force is a lot stronger here, like a chill along the spine raising the small hairs on the back of your neck."

Sorel Crieff

Ready are you? What know you of ready?
Sorel was in two minds. The mines looked so disused, there was a strong chance they were very dangerous - even for a Jedi. But the draw of the Force was so powerful, she figured she'd brave the risks.

"I can feel the Force, Master. Is there any likely explanation? Has your research found anything that might point to the cause."

Sorry, short posts at the moment - but I want to keep stories moving :)

Matsu was looking at her while she went in and looked. "My research of locations of the force has shown that many have old causes from events to collections of masters. Here though the force is very calming and subdued, it makes you want to relax and not act out fighting." She said it with a small look on her face when she was moving towards the caverns down lower and they could see the crystals. "If an event happened here several times then it might have happened." She had a couple of theories as this seemed to be an older site but. "From observation and with this, I have a theory that the desert might have sustained impacts like this in the past. If a large enough meteor impacted it could have sent dust and clouds into the sky. Couple have een one of the things to cause them to go extinct. Events such as that are not uncommon but they do not happen all of the time on other worlds."

Ready are you? What know you of ready?
Sorel listened. She tended to rely on history or natural intuition to work things out. Her Master, however, was adept at using historical facts combined with deduction to arrive at a prognosis. Sorel both admired this facet of her abilities and saw it as something to emulate as she grew and developed as a Jedi.

"How does one go about proving such theories, Master?" she asked in earnest. "If it is provable of course."

"Now that is the more difficult question." Proving a theory was well supposed to be hard so that it was validated and not a fluke but thankfully if need be you could adjust a throey. She wasn't stating it as fact looking over the bigger things when she was pushing with some of the attention now. "We can search for signs of it on the world, the trees should show signs of it with their development. As they often do with ash when it is growing." That would be one way to see it and the others would be to search for some of the evidence. She would have to assign teams while the cavern they entered had a lot of crystals jutting out of the roof with a bow of her head. "Hmm this looks quite nice and there are some crystals here you might be able to find."

Sorel Crieff

Ready are you? What know you of ready?
Sorel listened. She wondered if she'd ever be as knowledgeable as her Master. But either way, she was grateful that she could apparently ask any question and her Master would know the answer or at least know where to find it.

So she filed away the latest information and then followed her Master into the mouth of the cave. There appeared to be a lot of crystals here. It was hard to say if they had grown since the cave had been mined or were simply overlooked for larger specimens further inside.

She closed her eyes and, using Force Sight, created a mental map of the cave ahead in her mind. It was mostly inorganic, but the occasional small creature and even algae registered on her map now - she had been practicing heavily. And some way ahead there were Force Auras. Small but powerful and therefore most likely to be crystals. "I sense crystals ahead Master, and they seem to be strongly connected to the Force."

She gave a nod of acknowledgement to it and they were working on it, Matsu herself sensing the creatures but there were small and fast while also seeing the crystals when she walked forward stopping with a small bow of her head. "I do as well." She could feel it throughout the cave and was looking up while she held the glow rod providing illumination to the room where formations glowed with different colors all around them. Blues and greens, some that were shades of purples and prismatics that kept going with small veins of yellow and red. Matsu looked ahead to where Sorel was indicating and she could feel them while moving forward and there were signs that the crystal had had chunks harvest from them but they were massive while beyond them there was all the glittering of a huge field. "It is like a giant geode."

Sorel didn’t doubt her own abilities but was pleased that her Master confirmed what she was sensing with the Force.

Sorel opened her eyes again and was grateful for the light her Master provided. The monochrome map was now replaced by a kaleidoscope of colours — representing the full spectrum.

Then her Master used a phrase she was not familiar with. “A giant geode? What’s that?”

Matsu was looking at her with a small thought about how to explain it. "A geode is rock and crystals. Sometimes large ones are found on planets within the mantle. You can find smaller ones for children but with the work that can go on to places." She was showing it there around as the caves curved and if oe was large enough, survived when a planet was destroyed it could have been pushed through space and slowly, eventually come towards a planet impacting it so that it could be a massive extinction level event. It could explain a lot as life supporting planets was not always common until they could start really exploring the systems.

Sorel listened and learned. It was what she did...what she was good at. And not all learning had to be linked to the Force - it was easy to forget that, as Sorel did from time to time.

"Thank you Master. I understand the application, it was the theory that was lacking and specifically that term. I have heard of such disasters explaining the ending of civilisations."

"Tell me, should we go further into the cave?"

Looking at Sorel and then at the cave while she thought about it. "We don't have to, this should be large enough to find a crystal or two that are of good size. We have a lot more skill as jedi searching and feeling them in the stone." She touched the rock and it was much the same as what was used with the construction as it was warm in here now. The jedi master was searching over some of the bigger things with a hand coming up before she tossed a glowball up to the roof to illuminate it showing crystals that were glowing across the cave they were in. Some were cut, some had been taken but she was working over near them while she offered a small look. "THe force is strong with some of the deeper crystals."

Sorel Crieff

Ready are you? What know you of ready?
Sorel and crystals. Her life seemed to revolve around them. Wherever she went in the galaxy she seemed to end up in a cave and collected them.

So here she was, with her Master, and the pattern continued. And her approach was consistent too. Given her proximity to so many crystals, she closed her eyes and entered a state of meditation, connecting deeply with the Force. As she did so, she could sense every crystal — to the point that they almost overwhelmed her. But as she emptied her mind of emotion and thought, one by one the crystals dimmed in her mind’s eye until one alone remained shining so brightly it was as if it contained a sun.

She slowly opened her eyes. As she gazed up, there was no difference visually between the one she’d sensed and all of the others. But there was a connection between her and it — the Force had told her. So she wandered over and looked up at it, some twenty feet above her head.

She raised her hand and closed her eyes once more. The crystal vibrated and then rocked back and forth before a few motes of dust dropped down, followed by the crystal that gently dropped into Sorel’s open palm.

Matsu watched her as she went to a place with a small grin on her face while she was meditating. here where the force on the world felt stronger and calming she was able to focus. It wasn't like others where you could draw upon them, you couldn't take it and make yourself stronger or more focused but here you could reach a state of calming and serenity compared to the others. A small look on her face before Sorel retrieved a crstal giving her some of the attention to their situations while Matsu brought her sabers out suspending them in the air before her and retriving some of the crystals. With the work that was going into them they would need to new crystals to better augment themselves to her form.

Sorel gazed upon the crystal in her palm for a short while. Then she suspended it in the air in front of her, turning it around and end over end, marvelling in its beauty. She was almost oblivious to her Master's efforts to retrieve crystals of her own until she brought her sabers out.

"I'm not sure if it's right for a saber, but it is connected to me in some way, of that I am sure. I wonder what sort of crystal it is?" It was colourless at present and beyond Sorel's ability to identify.

Looking at her padawan as she gave a small nod of agreement. The crystals might not be able to work in a saber but there was only one good way to tell for sure while she was working on all of it. Seeing her padawan's crystal and how she had bonded with it brought he jedi master a few ideas before she was moving with her own thoughts. "A personal crystal that is tied to you an be a rare and invaluable thing. For a jedi it can resonate and connect with them on a level few others in the galaxy can match and even improve their own connection to the force.... but it is hard to study and rare as it will only react to you." She sat there as the sabers were disassembled readjusting and setting the crystals in place to test them. "The best way to see a saber is to use it and feed it force energies."

Sorel Crieff

Ready are you? What know you of ready?
Sorel examined the crystal for a few more moments. Finally she pocketed it. “If it were to be a crystal I use in my saber, I wouldn’t want to rush it. I see myself going somewhere secluded and meditating with it. If it is meant to be a saber crystal, I am sure the Force will tell me.”

Then she stood and watched as her Master took her sabers apart and reassembled them so quickly and easily. She was mesmerised and found it a joy to watch such mastery in action.

“Master, is that a form of Moving Meditation?”

"A form of it yes, the different meditations can be used to attune the crystal to you and be able to feel it." She had worked to focus the crystals but there was more to it. "You shall be able to take your time whenever you wish to Sorel to work with the crystal." THere was a smile on her face though while she rose up clasping the sabers to her belt while she was looking at Sorel moving towards her. "You have talent and here with the reports we shall have an interesting tale to tell some fo the others." She was looking around bringing her hands back behind herself. "If you are up for it we can head through and see what else is around here if there is anything."

Sorel Crieff

Ready are you? What know you of ready?
Sorel nodded. She was becoming better at various forms of meditation, but Moving Meditation was not one she'd studied as yet, and planned to do so at the next available opportunity.

"I think it makes sense to check everything out before we report back. Who knows what we might find? It could be nothing, but better to check before we head back I guess?"

She smiled and followed her Master further into the caves.
