Thanith looked up as the scanners picked up an enemy Fleet. Thanith smiled as the enemy Fleet came into view. He smiled taking a deep breath. He hit the Task Force wide channel.

"All units engage the enemy Fleet." "Focus fire on the lead ships." "Initiate attack pattern delta 4 Victor 6."

Thanith turned to his bridge officers giving them a nod. Being in anti-fighter Frigate there was not a whole they could do unless the enemy Fleet deployed fighters. Thanith watched as Hellhammer Delta and X-Ray opened fire on the enemy fleet. One thing Thanith had learned was not to wait until he had an enemy to charge the main guns. It was a tough lesson learned on the souls of a thousand dead pilots.

The Corvette moved laterally and surged forward towards the Virtue firing harassing fire.

Vaulkhar stared blankly, and blindly for that matter, at the man. Though his gaze was covered by the young man's simple brown blindfold, he did not have trouble seeing him at all. Something of which Barrien could likely tell by his movements and reactions. After a few seconds of the Jedi's bow, Vaulkhar began to move forward, but after he straightened once more, Vaulkhar took a few more steps but simply stopped. Looking over the movements and form of Barrien, it was clear the Jedi likely practiced a more defensive style, as Jedi often did. This did not bother Vaulkhar in the slightest, as his lip tugged up in a small smirk.

He learned forms to shatter defenses and lull his enemies into a false state of confidence for a reason, mind you.

Vaulkhar simply raised his blade and stepped forward suddenly, aiming to slam his own blade down against the lightsaber of Barrien. He slid his left foot forward while holding his right foot back, slightly. He held his yellow-bladed lightsaber within both hands, adding more power and precision behind his attack. The movements shown by the Sith Acolyte were those of a practiced duelist and a skilled bladesman. Or at least an experienced one.

"That's a rather simple tongue you speak, Jedi. Where do you originate?"

As he moved forwards with his attack, he began a conversation with the Padawan.

Acknowledging the newcomer with a nod, he rolled his shoulders and stepped closer to Ella. Both of his lightsabers swirled once in giant arcs beside his person. Behind him, his antenna began to lengthen until it nearly touched the ground; it would be used as a separate appendage if necessary.

"Leave her be Mullarus." He called, "She has chosen her path, we our own. It is what it is. Though we alienate ourselves from our opposites, it needs not have aggressive judgment." As he spoke, he realized the effect of the Robes was effecting both his intelligence and Force connection, but mostly his persona and allegiance.

He was still loyal to the Sith, with every intention of attempting to be the best, but he was now much more calm than he had ever been.

Twirling the blades once more, he lunged in towards Ella, both sabers coming from the right in a dual strike.

James had a multitude of actions to cope with at once. First was the Darkside being leaving his mind, allowing it the room to stretch out again and focus on the battle at hand. Second, as his brain regained its full capacity for cognition, it was assaulted by the Force telling him to move.

He felt the heat of the blade that came from under the cloak of the Sith score his shoulder as he rolled in the air to avoid becoming one handed. Sizzling flesh crackled in his ear and wisps of smoke from the burned robes signaling a glancing blow for the Sith. James' faced was thankfully covered as he winced in pain. He rolled his shoulders and took a deep breath to focus on the battle and not the pain.

"Clever trick Sith, I should expect nothing less from your kind." James said as he rolled his shoulder through the pain. Ensuring it still worked. He turned back to the Sith.

He decided to kick it up a notch. Drawing the Force around his eyes, he instantly could see the fault lines in the stitching of the Sith's robe, the inner workings of the 'Tail' and that there were two lightsabers still siting in the Sith's hips. The staff was made of dense Beskar and wasn't much in the way of something he could tamper with, but the other sabers he could. Reaching out with the Force he turned them on. The Crimson blades would be shooting out, with a dangerous trajectory towards the vital arteries in his legs and should provide a sufficient distraction to act upon. While the blades would be the focus of the Jawa to remove or suffer severe wounds, James burst forward with aid of the Force and came in from the left of the Sith and slashed across the horizontal plane with his off-hand. He would reverse spin and bring around the primary blade on the opposite side.

He would follow all of that up with a blast from the Force at he center of the Jawa's frame.

Galactic Republic
Supreme Commander Ali Hadrix
Republic Garrison "Hill" of Contruum
2145 Hours (Local Time)
OB-FF628_0109Sa_NS_20100108113059.jpg
Out of nowhere, in the silence of the air high above the battlefield, two surface-to-air missiles shot for the small floating probe droids Cryax Bane had sent to spy on the Garrison Hill. The missiles were locked onto their targets and swooping in for a swift kill.

Jordun Drako

Ali watched the battlefield display projecting from her wristcomp. She remained standing atop the MAT-TE walker resting on the Garrison Hill. As many forces as the enemy had already landed, they were no where near advancing on the mountain into which the Garrison was built. There remained miles between the valley bottom and the mountains through which their adversaries were moving, and the majority of those forces had been stalled via engagements from Imperial and Republic forces. Immediately, Ali called for a reinforcement unit for [member=Jordun Drako] and his merry band of soldiers patrolling one of the roads North of the Mountain. Two MAT-TE walkers and their accompany platoons of Republic soldiers lifted off the ground and began lumbering forward, heading down the hill to meet with Jordun and his boys with orders to prepare the lowermost slopes of the Garrison Hill for incoming attack.

Cryax Bane

Even with their enemies stalled, [member=Cryax Bane] had several small, company-sized elements maneuvering out of the mountains and into the open valley below. Ali focused in on them with her macrobinoculars, ranging the nearest of the elements at 14 kilometers. She continued watching for several moments, picking out the details as icons began appearing in her sight, transmitted by their battlefield sensor assembly that was built into the various sides of the mountain.
Three AT-AW's and just over a thousand droids, Ali thought to herself, smirking. They were still out of MAT-TE range, but were more than susceptible to artillery, ion cannons and air support. Ali verified the approximate ranges of the anti-air craft weaponry [member=Isamu Baelor] had recently revealed to the Garrison's Southern face.
::Home Plate this is G-C-Zero-One, I've got several targets in range for bombardment. I'll be coordinating a strike with our FO's and Hot Momma.::
::G-C-Zero-One we read you, standing by for coordinates.::

::Roger. FO's, this is G-C-Zero-One. Relay me your coordinates for ground targets in order of distance to Home Plate, over.::

Ali waited for each of the responses to pile in, giving her a series of six targets total. Firstly, those forces of Bane's that had been touched by the Republic's previous five-round sensing barrage were reconfirmed by FO's like Sergent Lesko. Moments later, Bane's mass army of droids were assaulted by the first of a continuous barrage of over fifty artillery shells every half-minute.

Then, both of [member=Cryax Bane]'s AT-AW groups were attacked. Ali watched as dozens of their ion cannons and parabolic artillery emplacements on the North face of the Mountain fired, rocking the landscape with the strength of their barrage. Ion torpedoes were launched in advance from a series of two dozen missile emplacements on the North side of the Mountain. Physical rounds were loosed into the sky to land amongst Bane's droids and walkers. The walkers themselves were specifically targeted by ion cannon crews to drain those pesky part-time shields Bane installed on them. Massive blue-white bolts of energy shot at great speed across the landscape where their targets sat like sitting ducks. The barrage didn't end with one round per cannon, either. The two groups were targeted for continuous bombardment. Each cannon dropped its shields just long enough to fire, then returned them to strength during the reloading process. The bombardment would continue until Bane's elements were destroyed on their approach.

As Bane's four Tartoros walkers moved through the West mountains with their 500 strong escort, Republic MAT-TE's and snipers lay in wait. Three MAT-TE's sat between the trees in a wide grove that spanned the bottom of a small valley into which the Tartoros' path of travel led. High walls of rock blocked the two forces in against one another. If Bane's forces achieved victory they would have unabated access to the ridge line overlooking the North-East face of the Garrison Hill.
However, the Republic wouldn't let that happen. The MAT-TE's were tucked away amongst the trees, their large frontal masses covered in camo netting and their paint jobs absorbing sensor signals. They waited, and once the Tartoros' walkers came into view at the mouth of the valley, they opened fire. BOOM BOOM BOOM!!!! went the mass drive cannons, loosing armor-piercing fin-stabilized depleted Chanlon rounds at the nearest of the diminutive walkers. The MAT-TE's would continue to target only that first Tartoros Walker until was destroyed. The MAT-TE company's commander likewise called in an artillery strike from the West-facing artillery cannons. Dozens of artillery shells would make landfall moments later amongst Bane's walkers and foot soldiers. Following the artillery barrage, Republic snipers picked up the slack and began targeting individual troops for destruction, their Verpine Assault Rifles putting powerful rounds out toward the enemy at long range from the protection of their high elevation positions on the hill faces.

Ali smirked as she watched the attacks commence, taking a moment to read an update from [member=Keira Ticon] about the destruction of a compromised satellite. Bane's been busy, Ali thought, glad to know his attempts at fuddling with their comms had been stalled for the time being. He would find another way, Ali knew, but it would take time, and by routing their communications through one of the orbiting warships their comms would remain secured until that vessel was physically overrun or destroyed.

Isamu Baelor | Darth Rapax

The next target was [member=Isamu Baelor]'s Southern forces, Ali decided as she returned her attention to the battle. The two artillery barrages had landed a scattered barrage on the Southern and Northern slopes of the Garrison Hill that had damaged several cannons and destroyed a handful of crews. One enemy shell struck an ammo point and ignited the portion of rock side there. The nearby crewmen were thrown into the air and a neighbouring cannon exploded in a flash of red and orange flame, smoke boiling from its emplacement. The majority of the barrage was defended against thanks to the shielding units of the cannons themselves, flickering on and off as continuous fire missions were cycled through. Crews were replaced for functioning guns as soon as could be organized, though some time would pass before those guns were firing again.
Darth Rapax's risen dead were targeted for white phosphorous artillery barrages, and within minutes of the dead soldiers' rise to life, they were showered with the horrors of the demoralizingly deadly munitions. White flame burned through the shifting corpses en masse, melting the snow across an entire square kilometer of mountainous terrain, the bodies flailing and returning to the earth. Few would make it down from the mountains, and those that did would fall to sniper fire before ever reaching the Republic line at the bottommost slope of the Mountain.

Forward observers in the mountains to the South identified the locations of Anti-air weaponry in Baelor's ranks, marking their locations and directions of travel for destruction by artillery, which followed soon after coordinates were locked in with Home Plate.
Seeing as how Baelor's forces were the only ones located South of the Garrison Hill, roughly one-hundred artillery cannons on that side alone were able to split Baelor's formations between themselves, placing fifty shells per barrage on each of his dense and lengthy formations. The anti-aircraft weaponry were targeted almost exclusively, placing each barrage within a very small field of fire.

Ali's gunships were prepared and in the area, but could not attack Baelor's forces without first destroying his AA weaponry. Instead she ordered the primary flight of 12 A-10 LAAT gunships to meet with [member=Draco Vereen]'s Mythosaurs to the West. Quickly they were off, their engines roaring as they flitted back and forth between mountain tops and over dense forests in low valleys.

Draco Vereen

Simultaneously, the Republic's Mythosaurs were creeping forward around a mountainside, walking the edge of the forest that filled the large valley there. As these forces scaled a large, gradual hill, they came into view of the Mandalorian forces. It didn't take long until the Republic Mythosaurs felt the full power of a Mandalorian attack from their own fortress walkers. Shields exploded with brilliant blue and purple energy which dissipated slowly and left the generators struggling momentarily to keep up with the demand for power. They had been retrofitted with Improvised Designs' Tactical Shielding and Targeting Array, which had automatically calculated necessary shield strength for the specified trajectories of attack. Thus, the worst of the damage had been absorbed, though the shields had taken a powerful hit because of it. Even so, nearly twenty percent of rear shield energy had to be drawn to replenish the forward shields to eighty-five percent.

As swiftly as Draco's attacks had come, the Republic's driving crews dropped their Mythosaurs downward into squatting positions, bringing them defilade behind the hillock over which they'd been climbing. This took them out of Vereen's line of sight, causing his remaining stream of fire to sear the air over the Republic force and explode against a far mountainside to the South. Smoke and flame erupted in the air above the Republic's force as glancing blows nibbled at the expansive Mythosaur shields. The Republic crews shuffled their walkers sideward, to the West, while finalizing firing solutions for the last known positions of Draco's Mythosaurs as the enemy's wave of fire died down.

Then, almost as if on cue, a barrage of ion energy from six of the Republic's 6m Ion Cannons which were mounted amongst the defenses on the North face of the Garrison Hill cut through the sky to strike for Draco Vereen's foremost Mythosaur walker.
At the same time, the Republic crews raised their Mythosaurs back up to full height, bringing their main cannons into line of sight of Draco's own. Their massive 420 mm cannons fired into the targeted Mythosaur. The two cannons roared as their rounds were loosed and the twelve Republic gunships swooped in from the South. They topped a ridgeline, snow kicking up as white dust in the wake of their repulsors, and appearing suddenly onto the battlefield. Their targets were the same as the rest, and with forward-facing composite beam turrets they attempted to siphon enough energy from the Primary Mythosaur's shields for their pairs of mass driven missiles to penetrate and detonate against the walker's vulnerable underbelly. The missiles were fired in tandem, and equipped with Improvised Designs' DLL-28 Anti-Tank Guided Missiles. Once the weapons were trigged they would fire a dummy rocket forward of the true warhead, which would be destroyed by enemy countermeasures and hopefully allow the warhead to slip through defenses to strike their target. After firing their missiles, the gunships split apart, strafing the Mandalorian Tartoros walkers with composite beam and heavy repeating cannon fire before striking for the backsides of the mountains to the East and West for another run.
The Republic Mythosaurs returned to their squatting position behind the hill crest; any rounds fired their way at that moment would glance against the shields and cause less severe, yet still noticeable damage.

As Draco's missiles streaked away from their Mythosaur mothers, a squadron of K-wing Assault Bombers swooped in from the East, targeting several of the munitions with ballistic missiles and destroying them. The remainder of the attack continued on into the air toward their target: The joint Imperial-Republic force tucked away in the Eastern Mountains that was countering an attack from the rear by Mandalorian footsoldiers.
Draco's missiles were guided by his myriad VYH probe droids, which saw reduced effectiveness in the East as the interspersed jamming systems employed by the Republic and their snipers saw entire swaths of the droids disabled. However, even unguided the missiles showered the region, causing notable deaths amongst the Republic and the Empire alike. One missile struck the face of the prevailing mountainside bordering the pass, sending an avalanche of snow and rock and ice crashing down upon the fighting area.

Ali listened to the radio traffic that was streaming in from everywhere. Artillery had been launched by Sith forces and peppered the lower ledges and slopes of the mountain, taking the lives of soldiers caught in between weapon emplacements shuttling ammunition and materials back and forth. Their artillery cannons survived the initial barrages from the North and South, their shields protecting them during periods of inactivity. The crew of one cannon was killed when it was struck while firing, the shields were down and unable to protect them. The crew however, were replaced within minutes as a fresh crew was rotated in from the Garrison's interior.

Keira Ticon

Ali activated her commlink as the most recent wave of attacks was initiated, making contact with the woman and her newly arrived clone regiments. After confirming the woman's identity and credentials via GRIM sub-databases, Ali accepted the woman's presence on her battlefield.
::Keira Ticon, you are officially welcomed to the battle.:: Ali said, smiling to herself from atop her MAT-TE walker. ::I am sending a detachment North to meet with your rear guard. Once they make contact they will join you in your attack.::
Ali put the order in immediately after leaving the message for Ticon, then watched as another detachment of three MAT-TE walkers lumbered East along the ridgeline that connected the Garrison Mountain to the Eastern Range. From there they would head North, behind the cover of the hillocks and rises and join with their newly arrived
comrades.

Cryax Bane

The last thing Ali did for the moment was pull up the tactical communications network on her wristcomp and dial in a frequency for their high-elevation forces. Ali knew there was a diminutive Corvette in the region that was prepared for ground attack. After a brief moment, she had the ship's captain on the line, and when he asked her what it was she needed, Ali smiled.
::I need a bombardment. Turbolasers only. Uploading coordinates now.::
After a brief moment of silence, the captain replied, ::Affirmative, Commander. Coordinates identified, strike commencing momentarily. Enjoy the spoils, Commander.::
Ali thanked the man and suspended the link, then looked up at the darkening sky. The sun was finally dipping down toward the horizon, thankfully to the Republic's backside. The setting sun would be in the eyes of nearly every Sith soldier on the ground, discounting Isamu Baelor's, who were intelligent enough to strike from the South. As Ali brought her hand up to cover her brow, she considered the captain's best wishes and waited for the aerial strike to come.

Spoils of war...Ali scoffed sardonically. I prefer my meat fresh.

***NOTE: All artillery strikes save for those on Draco Vereen are continuous barrages. They will not cease until those forces are destroyed or the guns themselves are.

Bane

1) Half of the Northern Garrison Mountain face has focused Ion turrets/torpedoes and artillery on AT-AW and 190 droids. Roughly 80 cannons all said and done. About 100 artillery per Mountain face, and 50 each of ion turrets and ion torpedo launchers

2) The other half of that force Same to 2 AT-AW with 975 droids (couple with attacks from MAT-TE) Roughly 80 cannons all said and done. About 100 artillery per Mountain face, and 50 each of ion turrets and ion torpedo launchers.
3) Remaining 50 or so artillery cannons lit up Bane's bulk force of droids still in the mountains (the one previously hit with the sensing barrage of 5 artillery shells)
4) 3 MAT-TE’s with snipers and supporting Republic Soldiers ambush 4 Tartoros Walkers and 500 droids.
5) Other two probe droids fired upon with surface-to-air missiles.
6) Satellite destroyed, acknowledged report.

7) Issued Corvette turbolaser bombardment on Cryax Bane's amassed droid army in the mountains. (The same target as in order #3) Note: Since Cryax Bane already acknowledged this attack in his post, it will remain. Planned bombing run will be placed in next post.

Baelor

1) Garrison Hill's Southern face of artillery and ion weaponry target Anti-Aircraft weaponry almost exclusively, totally roughly 150 cannons and launchers. 100 artillery, 50 ion torpedo launchers.

Lusk

1) Established contact and sent armor detachment to join your forces in the assault.

Vereen

1) Take brunt of beginning of your attack, dip behind hill crest.
2) Ion torpedo and cannon fire from Garrison Hill colludes with 6m Mounted Ion Emplacement fire on lead Mandalorian Mythosaur.
3) Follow through with 2 x Mythosaur fire on lead Mandalorian Mythosaur.
4) Republic Mythosaurs dip back behind cover.
5) Coordinated with a 12 x A-10 LAAT Gunship attack via 2 x ea. of DLL-28 ATGM fire. Gunships follow up strafe with attack on dismounted forces and smaller walkers.
6) K-Wing flight and local jamming emitters in mountains dissuade some of Mythosaur missile attack. Remaining missiles strike, killing personnel on all sides and causing avalanche into fighting area.

Drako

1) Sent armored unit support to engage encroaching Bane forces.

It felt like the enemy was woefully overestimating themselves, apparently not paying attention to their own lack of poor positioning against an entrenched enemy. Alva herself couldn't tell if she needed to laugh or cry over their stupidity, because they were deeply out of touch with reality if they were miscounting their losses under the circumstances. After all, those in the passes were exposed along the path. Those Sith Walkers and Droid Columns were out in the open, being fired upon by repeating blaster cannons, high yield baradium thermal detonators, plex launchers specifically designed for anti-armor engagements, and many, many, blaster rifles while the Imperial soldiers had an elevated position that disadvantaged enemy firing angles, provided (limited) natural cover from crags and the lip of the ridge they could duck behind, as well as their own energy shields they had been carefully outfitted with providing additional protection against energy based weaponry such as blasters and the like, though of course the defense was not everlasting or all powerful, but it would obviously deflect harm more so than their armor without. Not that Stormtrooper armor left many weaknesses to be desired what with blast shields and energy sinks installed since the times of Palpatine who deserved some credit for giving his soldiers decent equipment.

Then again perhaps all those advantages to the Imperial Stormtroopers raining death down on the Sith Droid ranks and pathetic walker units paled to the sheer fact an AT-FAT in each pass was providing additional firepower against the enemy. It seemed the Sith had ignored that fact despite it having already been ongoing. That fact being that towering Imperial Heavy Walkers, along with a pair of smaller missile based AT-AWs of the Empire's design, were opening fire on the smaller and less impressive Sith counterparts and their droid columns liking taking some fire themselves too. After all, while the four turbolasers were likely making their mark with their targets just ahead of them, the rotary gyro laser cannons nestled on the front of the AT-FATs were putting out enough outgoing fire, and gyro cannons no matter the size are generally known for output more than accuracy for every shot, that the laser bolts stitched not just the Sith AT-AWs but also the ground of the pass and droids as well.

Of course with a fight as intense as one in a bottlenecked pass, there were bound to be casualties among the defenders as well even with so many advantages and superior qualities going for them. Shields overloaded by the sheer number of enemies returning fire on a single position, or the occasional grenade lobbed that managed to stick on the ledge long enough to catch troopers too slow to move to another crag before they detonated. However, where a soldier manning an E-Web or Plex Launcher fell one of their comrades would move to reinforce the squad of the downed Stormtrooper, taking up the blaster cannon or mobile missile launcher if the weapon was intact, the Sith constantly under pressure from many blaster bolts, cannonfire, turbolasers, rotary laser gyros, and missile salvos from all the aforementioned Imperial sources.

In short, there was no denying they were taking the heavier casualties, and that their advance was more than stalled in the mountain passes. Not unless one wanted to ignore basic principles of the reality of the situation.

Just as the Imperials faced the reality of the threat from their other foes. The ones targeting their rear lines as their Commander herself frowned in response to the shifting effect of the battlefield when the commando unit began their attack. The crinan woman displeased when the fact became abundantly clear that the enemy was almost undoubtedly [member="Draco Vereen"] at this time. At least, since his stance with the Techno Union was well known and she wasn't sure what other Mandalorians had access to so many Mythosaurs and other vehicles from his company that were showing themselves. It was nearly as troubling as the fact the Mythosaurs commander had deemed her own pair of AT-FATs to be a significant enough threat to deal with. "Keep the turbolasers on them, keep hitting the same areas of those walkers, keep our timing up with the Republic's artillery salvo. Raise the AT-FATs' heads and bring the rotary laser cannons to bear."

As missiles launched from the mythosaurs off in the distance, Alva Calvarona watched while the heavy walker she sat within surged, its 'head' lifting up along with its companion vehicle beside it following suit, leaving her with only one word to utter as the so called chaos broke loose. "Fire." As the gyro cannons turned the rotary laser cannons unleashed their fury, the sound of the weaponry drowned out by the booms of the turbolasers. Obviously the Imperial Commander was not intending for the laser cannons to precisely shoot all the missiles that the Mythosaurs had fired out of the sky, but with the sheer number being put out by what was essentially an oversized mini/chain gun it would be quite obvious that with the general direction/area of the missiles approach they could hit a few of them to minimize the damage.

Which it seemed the Republic was happy to help her out with as well, as Republic bombers sweeped over the area, taking out a pair of the incoming warheads and wiping out the probes providing the enemy with targeting solutions she supposed. "Send the Republic Commander, Hadrix still I believe, that her help was not needed nor wanted." There were other things she would appreciate the Republic directing their efforts toward over helping her shoot a few measly missiles out of the sky, especially when it was unlikely the Sith would cross the pass anyway to engage her units here so she would rather the Republic put the pressure elsewhere rather than save her some damage to her walkers. Not that the damage was completely mitigated as a warhead from the mythosaurs struck the AT-FAT beside the command unit, hitting the main build of the body, the explosion rocking the heavy vehicle for a moment before it settled, just before the second missile to survive its journey impacted the ground, detonating and sending a gout of flame along the ground and creating a crater where it struck.

Eying the damage from the cockpit, the crinan woman's lip would form a tight line as she flicked the comms to the other walker open. "Report your unit's damage." Alva had nearly forgotten the strength of the warheads at Ord Mirit, but then she could at least tell the other AT-FAT wasn't taken out by the blow it had suffered. It wasn't exactly a paperweight after all given its size and the thickness of its durasteel plating. "The linked laser cannons on the port hull have been wiped out, the gunner crews manning those weapons aren't responding to the internal comms here. . . .we thick they might've peeled through most of the hull there as well. . . .had there been troopers inside they could be peering outside, if they survived the blast. The main turbolaser got shook up, but its intact, we're glad it didn't land straight on top of us. That thing hit like an artillery mass driver."

Alva didn't care what it hit like, she cared that her walker was able to withstand a direct hit so long as it wasn't the cockpit most likely. "Have free crew members inspect the damage more thoroughly and next time hit more of their missiles before they reach you next time." Of course, saying that aside, there was still a great deal more for the Empire to deal with as well aside from the Mythosaurs.

A lot more, coming in the form of aerial units it appeared as probe droids and what resembled the ancient basilisk war droid descended upon the Imperial battle lines in the forest at the foot of the passes. The Stormtroopers in their foxholes and in their cover behind and beneath the trees opened fire when the enemy force struck their position. Blaster bolts ringing out as the returning laser fire stitched across the ground, dirt and snow and blood kicking up into the frozen air, the Imperial soldiers with Plex Launchers locking onto targets as they released their wrath on the aerial attackers. The corpses of those who had fallen dropping onto the snow covered ground as smoke rose from their blackened armor, their shields overloaded, their blast sinks overwhelmed, and their chestplates shattered where the final bolts struck their broken bodies.

Still, the enemy would infur their own casualties. Having to break the tree tops if they wanted clearer shots at the imperials ducking in their holes and hugging the backs of the trees themselves. The smaller walkers that were the AT-STs turning their laser cannons upwards to the sweeping enemies, cannons blaring as they turned to track the probe droids flitting over the battlefield, troopers manning the E-Webs mounted atop the vehicle twisting as they followed the enemy clusters, pushing the weapons to their limits to the very last moment, whether it be for the repeating cannon to enter its cooling phase or as enemy fire slammed into the Imperial craft, bursting the canopy into gouts of flame that enveloped the crew and the wreck of the machine fell over as infantry dashed through the snow and soot, the Stormtroopers firing their blaster rifles from their positions whether it be an entrenched hole or the back of an unbroken tree until they moved to new cover.

They were what the Empire strove for, the Stormtrooper Corp which the galaxy recognized as the professional regimented army. Outwardly silent as blaster and laser fire rained down on them while within the private confines of their own helmets the sounds of a flurry of voices filled their ears. orders to move, screams and pleas of the wounded, shrieks of the dead, and the reassurance of the living. Their blaster rifles echoing in the forest beneath the blasts of the heavier laser cannons, the booms of explosions, and crashes of fallen heaps and broken bodies, both friend and foe. In the woods of Contruum's valley the rear guard of the Empire fought with fury to deny the enemy passage to the mountain path. Even if it meant those who had dug their own foxholes now thought to themselves they had not drawn the easy assignment, and that perhaps they had conveniently dug their own graves and saved their companions the trouble later.

As for those that flew on into the pass, they were not welcomed either, as their bombing runs over the engaged Imperial positions left things even more heated than before. Although it was odd enough for their commander to order an indiscriminate attack, considering the fact that only the soldiers engaged with the Sith for the moment had revealed their positions, leaving the rest in their crags and hidden along the ridge lines to keep their heads down. Still, it was certainly noted and rather ironic that the attack from the forces launched from behind were more effective the droids carelessly thrown against the walls before them. Nor was it to be said there weren't to be a few casualties either from an indiscriminate firebombing, as not every position could have adequate cover or luck.

Of course to the same degree the basilisk war droid look-a-likes were open to being fired upon as well by those they targeted, as well as by the linked laser cannons of the AT-FATs in the pass should the fly too close to the behemoths. Not that a certain Captain Nim was pleased at all as the veteran Stormtrooper pulled himself inside the crag he took shelter in, hugging the wall of the mountain rock as flames flared against the ridgeline where several unfortunate troopers were unable to drag themselves into cover. Leaving him with the rather vengeful thought that if the enemy wanted to step things up, then he could certainly oblige. The officer pulling the detonator for the mines settled into the ground of the pass, shaking his head as he pressed the switch, his helmet lens adjusting for the flash as explosions took shape in the pass below, engulfing whatever Sith droids were standing over them. "Still have the ones set into the sides of the ridge as well. . . .we can save those for round two."

By then though, perhaps the Sith forces would be convinced to simply turn away, as the Empire had no intention of relenting, of allowing the Sith to make their way through the pass, or for them to break through their rear lines at the forest edge. Especially not when each soldier was still seething from their anger over the cowardly actions of the Sith at Crina, and being forced to retreat after the stalemate of Ord Mirit. Though none were likely as angry as a certain crinan woman, watching the tactical display as the battle carried on in so many places. The boom of the turbolasers of her command walker providing the background noise to which she spoke. "Tell the Republic to get on clearing the air space. . . . .in fact contact our good Chiss friend in orbit, his battle group's signature has finally arrived. Have [member="Lash"] deploy additional stormtroopers to the garrison, and request some TIEs if he can spare any in case the Republic slacks on dealing with those annoyances. These cowards haven't met us with flesh and blood yet, I'm a bit disappointed despite the effectiveness of their little. . . .aerial strafing runs their content to keep making."

Summary
  • [member="Cryax Bane"] is still under fire from blaster rifles, plex launchers, grenades, AND the AT-FAT's Rotary laser Cannons and four turbolasers from the last post, as well as the Imperial AT-AWs (so many AT-AWs on the board lol)
  • At end of post [member="Cryax Bane"] and Rapax both have the mines in the pass (but not on the ridgeline) detonated on/beneath their forces
  • Rearguard AT-FATs take a hit from the warheads that make it through the Republic and Imperial wall of laser fire, 1 walker takes heavy armor damage on port side and has several linked laser cannons on the side wiped out.
  • A number of soldiers in the forest are killed when [member="Draco Vereen"] probe droids and Bes'ulisks strafe them
  • Same group of soldiers return fire from their foxholes and cover behind trees, running about here and there
  • 4 AT-STs are also destroyed in the initial attack as the vehicles return fire
  • Some soldiers are also burnt to a crisp from incendiary grenades, those in groups exposed or given away since they're fighting the Sith (others twiddling their thumbs waiting for the Sith to maybe get further in and in decent cover possibly unnoticed still)
  • Again number of said soldiers return fire along with the linked lasers of the AT-FATs on any enemies flying too close
  • Alva requests air support from [member="Ali Hadrix"] and [member="Lash"]
  • Post got long and brain fried toward end sorry for poorer quality around there

Ella did not try to parry or block Nerius' attack this time. She hopped backwards onto her good leg (the of her body that hadn't been wounded) and regathered herself, by standing back up tall. Soft hisses accompanied the hums and whirs of lightsabers between the three, alongside the explosions, shots and screams from nearby combatants, as rain drops fell harshly onto the blue light.

Illuminated by the glow of her lightsaber, Ella retorted: "I will never fall to the dark side, Sith."

"Your narrow and selfish ways have already cost the lives of millions. Now, here you are affect more. The people of Condruum were good citizens of the Republic. They did not want you to come here and do this to them or their planet. What you have done is unjust and wrong."

"Whilst I still breathe, Condruum will not fall to your evil Empire. But it is not too late for either of you to stop this. I'm not asking you to defect from the Sith. All I am asking you to do is to help stop this madness. Convince your masters to stop the fighting and allow diplomacy to resume, before more lives are taken."

Although she had been ready to kill Nerius only moments ago- and she was still prepared to do so, along with his new ally- there was always moments in battle, where the Jedi offered peace. It was not a faint offer, either. But it was the right choice. One that differentiated between good and evil.

"Please, do the right thing, Sith. It is never too late to do so."

She didn't see him at first. The woman was busy firing at an enemy soldier, her blaster emptying the last of it's clip. Then she had moved her hand to grab another from her belt... That was when she realized what was going on. Something was seemingly trying to tug at her grenades. If she hadn't been in the middle of a firefight, she would have smirked. Good thing I bought that Bodo Bass whatever thing, she thought, remembering its 'special qualities'. Though Rave Merill had once tried to kill the woman Ven loved, she had to admit that the woman had made some damn fine pieces of equipment.

For example, the Bodo Baas belt that the mercenary was wearing. Thanks to (apparently) alchemy and Terentatek hide, whatever was inside the pouches, or placed inside the holsters, couldn't be yanked away by the force. At least that's what the item was 'advertised' as being able to do. Evidently the claim held true. Whether because she felt like being 'funny' or because it seemed like the 'logical' thing to do, the mercenary selected one of the thermal detonators. She started to raise it out of it's little spot before quickly putting it back. Probably because she realized that it could easily be activated if it wasn't being protected.

With the item re-secured she went back to fighting, narrowly avoiding another lackey's attempt to knock her over. A jet-powered punch caught him in the jaw as retaliation. As the trooper was temporarily sent tumbling back, Ven caught sight of the silent Sith, finally noticing the person who had tested her. Frakker, she thought, pausing to flip him off real quick. But that was all she had time to do before the soldier from before was back in her face. Though she wanted to engage the shadowy fellow, she had a little schutta to deal with first...

Sena wasn’t amused. She remained outside the ship in annoyance. The freaking thing was on fire and that girl figured now was a good time to get changed because of a small quip? Her foot was more than tapping on the ground. It was quietly stomping in a manner most static. Unmoving, unyielding the master stared at her apprentice with a look that spoke of her disapproval. No pretty smile was going to fix this, at least not right now. There was a time for play and a time for work. This was not the time for play.

“We will talk about this, Ameli.” Master Lassiter watched her apprentice descend the loading ramp. “I mean, when the ship is on fire? Why?!”

Sena hunched down for a second and gave Ameli a questioning look. Her mouth slightly agape, her eyebrows furrowed. There were some serious consideration going into whether she was far too lenient as a master or if Ameli in herself was just a natural rebel. It obviously didn’t truly matter, lessons got through in the end, but discipline was still... Well, important, obviously.

A voice called out to both ladies out of nowhere. Instinct kick in and Sena flung her saber in the direction of the voice before turning around for a look only to set her eyes on a walking set of armor and cape questioning their piloting skills. A grin grew on her lips. It was as if the two girls had a tendency to find those guys. The ones that carried a small bunker’s worth of armor.

Compensate much?

She granted him no answer. He liked to joke, Sena did not. Not to his kind anyway. At least not until the saber throw had cut his neck in two. Then they would see who had the most fun.

Or rather, who had the pleasure of meeting who and which of them would be squirming. In pain.

Nerius stood his ground as he heard his opponents speech. While most Sith were content with the exact ideals she named, he doubted she would believe he stood for the opposite. Yes control through strength was a must, but he did not feel utter slaughter and destruction was necessary in the least - this was not even an effect of his Robes, it was simply how he had felt for a few months now.

"You know of the Empire, in its many levels of control, there are not many that can divert the will of the Emperor. I hold a Throne amongst such people, yet I doubt any would heed my words, rather they would throw me to the Sarlacc's." Nerius called back, "I do not wish the deaths of any unjustly, but without might, one will never show they can protect. I do not wish to kill you, nor cripple you.

"So I ask the same in less words; leave. Cease this fight, and deliver a message to your own leaders that the Empire has few within seeking change!"

If Darth Azurea didn't fill the void inside her with something, she knew she would fail on the battlefield today. So when Tanek turned to her and gave her that familiar ravenous look - although she knew he was hungry for bloodshed - it was all she needed to snap out of her malaise. Her love for him was so acute still. He had given her everything she wanted - devotion, affection, loyalty, support. But it was a dark mirrored version of what she had expected to find in a romantic partnership. However, the silly, stubborn girl with her chimerical dreams was gone. In its place was a finely honed killer with little remorse, not even towards slaves.

The Darkside of the Force had fascinated her since she had been exposed to it on Ruusan. Looking back, her burning curiosity had driven her to seek out information on the Sith, and in return, she was awarded with the knowledge she craved. At a price.

But what a sublime price it was.

Azurea finally gave her companion a more confident smile and growled back at him, "They were not just my oppressors. The Jedi were always my enemy." He would appreciate the wicked fire that was returning to her now - visible in the flush of her cheeks and the glint in her brown eyes. Darth Azurea sensed the Jedi now as well and tried to hide the surprise on her face at the fact that it was a familiar signature. Someone who had tried to guide her and help her. No, it wasn't Chastity. But as though she were going to meet a long lost sibling, Azurea looked forward to this meeting with fascination.

The lot of them listened as they waited for the people on the opposite side to reply. The awaited answer came soon enough. “The conditions of your surrender, of course.” They wanted their surrender. That was hardly expected to say the least. Greta would indeed be surprised if it was otherwise. She was not intending on surrendering herself to anyone, and she would clearly make this known. Greta shouted out the only insult she could think of at the moment.

"I don't intend on surrendering, definitely not to the likes of you! Your mother was a hamster, and your father smelt of elderberries!" That was hardly an insult to most, but she considered that an insult to her. She wouldn't want her mother to be a hamster, and Greta could care less about her father. He could smell of elderberries for all she cared. Not alot of paternal love where she came from.

Without waiting for a retort, the blonde Sith knight started to made her way towards Docking bay 39, her troops would follow behind soon enough. She wanted to see who exactly was the one demanding her surrender as well as the one she was insulting. It was only good manners to face the one you were insulting.

It was a completely unfair move, one revealing the Dark-Sided woman truly had nothing to do with Jedi. The battle was on before the Sith Lord even had a chance to discuss some rules concerning the engagement; always a gentlebeing, the Mon Cal had hoped for a more refined way of fighting, somewhat reminiscent to sports where no participant got hurt. An excellent idea that went hand in hand with his wish to fight and test his skills, yet also the reluctance to kill his two opponents. It seemed to work right until the blast of sonic shotgun tossed all intentions and ideas out of the window, just like the sentence leaving Veles’ large mouth before he finished. Such a shame it had come to this – the Mon Cal disliked the idea of permanently scarring a woman’s beauty, yet since at least one of his opponents obviously wanted to kill him, he had to act like a Sith and adapt to the sudden change. Being a gentle soul, Avreet truly disliked this turn; that did not mean he’d just give up or die though. He had not earned the title for nothing. Hardened by Korriban and countless missions, the Sith of trickery was about to show he, too, could play unfair ad cheat. Gritting his teeth, Veles mentally switched his mindset.

A cartwheel to the right, augmented by the Force and cybernetics, carried the Sith Lord out of the harm’s way. It was an instinctive move, triggered by precognition and experience, saving his life. Mostly, at least. His left limb suddenly hurt, the sleeve covering it was nowhere to be found, revealing streams of red liquid rushing down. The entire arm felt somewhat limp, slow to respond to the brain’s commands, and the crippling pain radiating from within started to spread. Aside from the lack of control, it did not bother the amphibious Sith that much. Pain gave him power, adding to the Dark Side coursing through his veins. His legs felt similarly to his arm despite no visible damage – the Dark Jedi’s telekinesis certainly had a very firm grip. If not for the reinforced bones, he would have been completely crippled by the bone-shattering pressure. Even with the augmentations, it became necessary to stop the onslaught and counter-attack, give himself some breathing room before breaking from her telekinetic chains.

His retaliation came swiftly. With the dodge complete, telekinetic strands of the Force moved to wrap around the woman’s legs, similarly to what she had done to him. One swift wave of his right hand upwards ordered the Force to yank on the opponent’s legs, pull them from under her to make the Dark Jedi fall, immediately followed by a quick sidestep to the right and the same hand releasing red sparks of energy that rushed towards the enemy to leech away her life force and Force energy to give those to the Sith. A strange warmth spread over him; the Dark Side within his veins roared in fury, determined to crush the other user – or was she a slave? Vornskr’s arrival went largely unnoticed, Veles too focused on this battle over mastery of the Force to pay the man much attention.

Well that was interesting. Ferus hadn't expected an alchemical belt or anything like it. When it became clear that he couldn't mess around with her grenades, he just sort of frowned. Why must people always take the fun away from it all. Course, the added middle finger seemed unnecessary.

Though, she was wearing armor. So when up came the bird, he'd switch his grip from the useless grenades to the finger in question. If she was just gonna be rude.. Well. Unforgingly he would rip down his hand, simply trying to break the appendage. Wouldn't really be a problem in the long run, but there was a bit of self satisfaction in the idea of her finger being bent way too far back.

He'd continue walking to her though, now much more miffed about the disrespect then awed by her death from the Force. Ah well, at least he's still interested.

Locations:

  • 2 AT-AW with pilots, 5 slicers, and 190 droids, continuing southeast through the mountains, getting closer to the garrison

  • 950 droids and 2 AT-AW moving southwest through the valley, also closer to the garrison

  • 3 Tartoros-Class Walkers and 500 droids moving through the mountains on the west side, halfway to the garrison

  • 2 probe droids to the west and north of the garrison

  • 9,300 droids, 4 Tartoros-Class Walkers, 25 slicers at Cryax Bane’s Northern spawn point behind low ridges for cover
Cryax’s ARCs blinked out a strange alert. The progress of his slicers, currently engaged in a cyber attack on the area around the garrison was suddenly halted. Furious, he marched over to the group of slicers, who were currently muttering and flinging their datapads to the ground.

“What the kark happened to the satellite?” demanded the Chiss, glowing red eyes flashing with irritation.

“Satellite’s gone, boss,” the CRC slicer retorted with a shrug.

“Well, blast it, find another one!” he growled, resisting the urge to strangle each and every one of the CRC thugs regardless of their slicing prowess. Steaming, the Chiss stormed back to his post, returning to his forest of blue droid soldiers.

Cryax shook his head incredulously. Bane assumed that the destruction of the Contruum comm satellite was caused by space debris or a rogue asteroid. He had no idea it was a Republic turbo laser ([member="Commander Lusk"]) that shot it out of space. Unfortunately, the trigger-happy pilots of the Republic and allied forces did not notice the small squad of Contruum satellite repairmen, all innocent civilians, making their way towards the object, weightless and vulnerable, clad only in spacesuits and tethered to a small nearby craft. The men and women were being deployed to deal with the interference caused by Bane’s cyberattack. The explosion killed all twenty of them, ripping apart their bodies and leaving disembodied parts floating peacefully along, with only the black of space for a grave. Oops.

Incidentally, the debris from the destroyed Contruum comm satellite rained down directly on the Republic military garrison, causing damage to the structure’s roof. The blow from above managed to knock a cross beam down on the inside of the building. Much like naval vessels of old, military bases keep building cats to keep the pest population down. One such animal, Mittens, was in the stores in the attic, chasing mice when a crossbeam fell. Mittens was fast, but not fast enough, and the beam caught him in the hindquarters, paralyzing his rear legs and tail. It might have been karmic retribution for the Republic but who would seek retribution for Mittens? Force only knew for sure.

Meanwhile, the slow march towards the garrison continued as the AT-AW in the southeast mountain pass continued to come under fire from Imperial Remnant forces ([member="Alva Calvarona"]). Cryax’s droids and walker fired back with maximum impunity. Masers criss-crossed at any sight of a stormtrooper helm, and those soldiers who were hit would be electrocuted to death upon impact with their metal armor. Chiss Vape charges were lobbed at Imperial Remnant missile encampments and thrown right into the hidey-holes of the Remnants AT-FATs and AT-AWs, presumably disintegrating them on impact or at least causing alot of karking damage. Finally the AT-AW itself fired back with repeating blaster cannons, proton cannons, laser cannons and a concussion missile launcher. Huge explosions blossomed from the mountains, signalling the Chiss’s forces were fully engaged with the enemy. The path ahead was treacherous and Imperial Remnant mines claimed more of Cryax’s expendable N1 Chiss droids, but the forces continued ahead despite the continuous bombardment/ Although the One Sith AT-AW’s shields were absorbing most damage, it wouldn’t be long before the siege vehicle would be taking direct damage to its durasteel exterior. Still, as long as it could get the slicers close to the garrison, would its job be completed. With a determination generally seen in the same Sith forces that took Ord Mirit and Kashyyyk, the squad continued to weave through the Contruum mountains, gentle giants whose ridges and crags provided generous amounts of cover not only for the AT-AW but for the Chiss droids, who scurried into them to return fire.

As for the two other groups of forces, Cryax’s AT-AW’s shields were now at half-capacity from the continuous barrage of artillery and the enemy’s ion cannons (from [member="Ali Hadrix"]). They were under continuous fire, but they weren’t exactly sitting ducks, as the Republic might think, the low crags and ridges of the Contruum landscape provided a modicum of cover, and the forces were able to manuever through the shelling quite deftly. These were experienced pilots and some of the most state-of-the art droids in the galaxy. Cryax might have been a bit biased here, but Chiss technology, in his opinion, was far superior to the rest of teh galaxy’s. The squad persevered, nonetheless, blasting back at their attackers with their own proton cannons. missile launchers, charric rifles and baradium thermal . Likewise, Cryax’s Tartoros-class walkers and droids on the west side of the valley came under a continuous barrage of fire, and they fired back on those MAT-TE's with all they had. Their shields managed to absorb most of the damage until they could find cover behind the myriad of mountain passes on the west side of the field. The Republic snipers who poked their heads out like gophers high up in the mountains would be met, not only with devastating maser fire, but also vape charges, aiming to disintegrate them on contact with baradium detonators. There were some casualties of course, and one Tartoros walker that came under extremely heavy fire, succumbed to the barrage, crumpling in a smoking heap, its pilots evacuating under the cover of the peaks, but both companies trundled on. The One Sith was never deterred that easily.

With that hiccup being dealt with, Bane began to study the Holofeed coming in from his probe droids. He saw more soldiers arriving at the garrison. Wait, those soldiers looked terribly familiar to him. Yep, same armor, and all female. Those were the Sisterhood troops (supplied by [member="Ciara Jevnaker"]). The same ones that landed on Glee Anselm during the subjugation of that watery world in the name of the One Sith, same armor anyway. One of Cryax’s staunch beliefs was that war should not only be waged with weapons, but also with words. The revolution would not be Holo-televised, but spread among blogs, forums, and social media Holo-sites. Never one to miss an opportunity to slander the opposition, Bane gave another voice command to his ARCs.

Open Holomail. Recipient: [member="Eugene Leopold"].

He dictated a message to his Holomail client, a message that would tell the Wookieleaks founder that Sisterhood troopers, forces affiliated with the Sith sect of the Sisterhood of the Black Rose, were fighting on Contruum for the Republic, a galactic superpower which had ordered a Black Flag decree to kill Sith on sight. Why were these Sisterhood troops not killed on site according to the GR’s own mandate? Who knew? The universe worked in very strange ways indeed. Suddenly, there was a bzt sound as two of Bane’s probe droids finally succumbed to surface-to-air missiles, and although Bane had gotten more than enough out of them at this point, he could easily switch the feed on his ARCs to pick up views from his AT-AWs on the field.

Once Cryax was satisfied with his orders, a strange whisper whistled through his brain, a female voice that came out of nowhere.

"I didn't think you'd have the guts, Cryax."

Unlike Force users, Cryax was completely unaccustomed to having a disembodied voice in his head, and the sound of it gave him a start. Once his heartbeat returned to normal, Bane realized the voice was the familiar high-pitched lilt of [member="Keira Ticon"], his former Red Raven secretary and frenemy. Wait, what was a known Dark-sider doing here on the rocky planet of Contruum? Had Ticon finally seen the writing on the durasteel, and joined the One Sith? Anything was possible, he supposed. Anything at all.

(OOC note: There was a lot to respond to given the length of everyone’s posts, so if I missed anything or forgot to tag anyone, please let me know.)

As the two Sith moving towards her came into view, Taeli had to fight the urge to facepalm as her senses had not been wrong. Well, this was sure to be a very interesting bout then. She could feel the bloodlust pouring off the male Togruta, nothing out of the ordinary there. Primal instincts of his species were centered around the hunt, and she could clearly make out he was garbed in Vonduun crab armor. Razor bug bandoleer. Dressed to the nines for a bloodbath then.

The girl she had saved on Ruusan however ... now that was just interesting. Something felt just a touch forced in a way, a chink in the armor perhaps.

"Well I can say this is quite a happy place for a reunion," Taeli said in way of greeting. She had to remove the lightsabers from her belt, but they would notice the weird hilt of her lightsaber as it looked like a rapier handle with its half circle hand guard. "Lunelle right? And I'm afraid I don't know your name, but greetings all the same as I recognize you briefly from my ship's targeting reticles. Lovely spot, don't you think? It's quite a historic location from the Yuuzhan Vong War from several centuries back."

Any undead warriors that where fired down where immediately re animated to fight again. This would prove quite the hard opponent to kill in this matter. But his forces continued there 2 pronged assault, due to this mass necromancy he was practicing here for so long it started becoming easier and easier for him to achieve its effectiveness it was pleasant indeed...this means he can now raise army's with ease and for longer periods with far greater numbers, Tis a shame for his opponent for the more dead that where scattered the more they would rise to fight for him. This was a fun battle ground to play in indeed...and with this he will achieve victory with this gift. No matter how much blood would be spilt it'd matter not. He did not raise any of isamu's forces or draco's mandalorians...he knows how commanders can be in relations with there soldiers and he respected the mandalorians too much to cheat them of a chance to die with dignity and honor in there hearts. the enemy on the other hand...was not mandalorian for that they will be shown no remorse and there dead will be used against them.

However in his demeanor he wouldn't let that show. The Jedi Padawan would keep on fighting until his last breath. Aston didn't have any intentions on dying today.

Asajj had indeed underestimated her opponent. In the true style of a young and eager Sith, she had rushed into battle thinking herself unbeatable. Mantic had proven quite the opposite, that she had a long way to go before she could crush a well-trained Jedi, and even further before her own 'mother'. It was only now she had realized it, when her axe split in two and was rendered useless.

BOOM
Behind Asajj stood an old structure, one of the few that remained in the abandoned outpost. Yet now it was falling upon itself in a burst of flames. The Sith's army was approaching, firing merely for cruelty and fun. She could feel it, yet knew the disheartening fact that it wouldn't reach her in time to win the battle for her. Victory or defeat, both outcomes were down to her. As the Jedi's lightsaber came in for a lunge aiming to create distance, she sidestepped and skimmed along it towards him. Victory seemed like a distance hope now, it was only worth going down in a blaze of glory. Releasing from her right wrist came a hidden blade, quickly aiming to plunge into the Jedi's saber forearm. Her aim was to create enough pain or nerve damage to cause him to drop the saber, despite already having done damage to her. Skimming alongside his blade hadn't gone too well, leaving an ugly burn along her hip. The pain fuelled her for now, but she knew it was a resource that would quickly deplete.

With mere inches between her and the Jedi, her blade hopefully lodged in his arm and her other hand holding his wrist, she merely grinned straight at him. There would be no begging for mercy for his satisfaction; she would not please his moral needs. Behind her the fire of the ruined building raged, slowly creeping along the rotted corpses.

"Take my life, Jedi." A cruel, hissing tone. "Kill me because I am Sith, and you hate the Sith. Your hatred for the dark side brings you here, now pretend you have the moral high ground. Like the monster you really are, KILL ME!" Her crazed, widened eyes stared deep into him; fearless. Besides, without a lightsaber, killing her might be just that bit harder.
