Storis: A hypervelocity cannon made for standard range with the option of ionizing its ammunition. Utilizes seventy-six millimeter depleted-baradium rounds to fire, sutter fire capable. Is unable to hit at close range, and is prone to overheating issues.
Ruislip: A hypervelocity cannon made for short range, although it can engage in standard range as well. Utilizes twenty-millimeter depleted-baradium rounds to fire, and while not stutter fire capable. It does come with several types of the twenty-millimeter rounds. Unable to fire at long range, and is vulnerable to ion/emp and other kinetic weaponry.
Ovmar: A defensive missile system that works best at long range. It can fire a variety of missiles but is loaded by default with nano missiles. Utilizes an automated reload mechanism, and comes equipped with a multi-target targeting and tracking system. May fall vulnerable to overheating, blowbacks and misfires along with degradation.
Brel: A light shield that allows the firing of kinetic weaponry at the expense of energy weapons. Energy weapons have an easier time penetrating/bleeding through the shield.
Maelstromhttp://starwarsrp.net/topic/139643-maelstrom-advanced-targeting-and-tracking-system/: Makes use of the ship’s sensor systems to increase weapon and possibly defensive armament systems. Uses a type of crystal as its data core, vulnerable to ion weaponry.
Kinetic: Makes use of kinetic weaponry exclusively which can be problematic for those who do not have the proper defenses against them.
Shield Boost: Uses a shield boost, and an ion shield to help protect the vessel in combat.
Targeting System: Built with Aurora Industries’ MATT the ship’s weapons may land more accurate hits.
Kinetic: Because it makes use of kinetic weaponry exclusively, the Rocinante may find itself unable to fight properly when faced against opponents who have proper kinetic defenses.
Shield System: Due to firing kinetic weaponry, lowers the particle field to fire - raises the Brel light particle to help, but the Brel does allow more energy weapons to bleed through to the hull.
Vulnerabilities: Ion and EMP weapons are still problematic for the weapon systems, as well as the advanced targeting and tracking system.
The Rocinante project began after Fiolette reviewed some of the Sith Empire’s ships. She came across the Tachys and decided to make a variant that utilized kinetic weaponry. Having access to the Tachys’ blueprints the start of the ship’s design was easy. It was waiting for the development of the weapon and advanced targeting system that took time.
Eventually, all the systems were completed with development and production began. This allowed the Rocinante to continue on its development without any further delays. The pursuit corvette utilizes kinetic weaponry exclusively, and compensates for its particle shields going down during firing with the Brel light particle shield and an ion shield. A small shield boost to aid the ship during intense moments of fighting.
She also boasts the Ovmar Defensive Missile Systems embedded with Anti-Missile Octets to help defend against incoming missiles. The ship has a high speed rating and moderate maneuverability allowing her to turn quickly and position her guns on target. Using the Storis and Ruislip the pursuit corvette is able to engage both small capital ships and starfighters in standard and close range.
Production of the Rocinante is slated to begin at the Cunard Shipyards over Galidraan IV.
