Myri smiled and gave a nod to the Twi’lek Mandalorian. Myri wasn’t quite sure what the command structure looked like, but she was pretty sure that both Agent Emrick and Alor'ad Cadera were above her. So she stayed to the background for the moment and let the next step play out. The Overseer sent additional word to Silhana which seemed to say something to the effect that we have all the information we will be immediately privy to.
Myri made a mental note not to inform the Alor’ad of any inaccurate shots for the rest of the mission. Though she hoped that it was merely a joke despite the irritated grumble it was spoken with. If it wasn’t a joke Myri could handle a serious commander. Silhana gave the situation report. Many lifesigns of unknown origin within a hundred meters of the entrance, but nothing seen as immediate danger.
Myri followed behind the Mandalorian to the cave entry. Myri had trouble deciding whether it was fancy and old, or just old. It definitely needed some technological upgrades to make it a worthwhile habitat. At least get some electricity. The torches were just too old school for Myri. She wouldn’t even consider them romantic in a different situation. I followed close behind Silhana up the stairway and then to the closed door. I gave a nod to the Twi’lek and she opened up the door.
Without a moment’s notice something gave out a roar and was pushing through the doorway. Myri had no idea what it was, but it was huge, filled with scales and most frighteningly had five heads. Each head had a mouth filled with pointed fangs and lashed out at the intruders.
Myri jumped backwards at the initial strike and lashed out instinctively with her knuckle-blade, missing the attacking creature completely. The creature continued out the door revealing a body with four legs each having claws at the end. “I suggest a coordinated attack from different angles,” Myri yelled out to the others. “And blasters,” she added with a bit of disappointment in her tone, pulling her two pistols from their holsters and opening fire hoping that the beast’s scales weren’t armored.
