Staff Second Chance

[member="Matsu Ike"] To be fair, I shouldn't have allowed it at mass production / grade 10 I allowed it because it had already gone through. I'm going to be reviewing before I deny or approve the second chance. At least give me 24-48 hrs before I pass judgement, it is the weekend and I work etc etc.

I'd like Freedon Nadd's Short Lightsaber to be reviewed and second chanced.

The reason why I asked for another Factory Judge to be assigned to reviewing my submission is because I was frustrated with the judgements I was receiving from Zephyr. The item is canon, having already been created and established in Star Wars. You can see it's Wookieepedia article here.

My factory submission was to bring it into Chaos canon, so I could then submit it to the canon list, to stop others from finding it for themselves. But that is neither here nor there. The Wookieepedia article doesn't say the material in which the Lightsaber's hilt is made out of it. The only material it explicitly states is Rubat, which I had already added to the submission before Zephyr asked for amendments to it's materials.

I understood that "fast and more precise" is very ambiguous when it comes to Chaos PvP, so I made amendments to that description for Rubat. But as I have said, the material that it's hilt is made out of wasn't stated in the Wookieepedia article. When Zephyr asked me to clarify the material the hilt was made of, I was confused because of this reason, but I complied with the amendment and said the hilt was made out of Phrik, as that seems to be the type of hilt Freedon Nadd would have used to construct his Lightsaber.

But amendment Zephyr asked for- a development thread for the Phrik- does not make any sense whatsoever. He was effectively asking me to get hold of Phrik, to construct a weapon that was already made centuries ago? The weapon was already in existence and was subsequently found by [member="Joon"] in Freedon Nadd's sarcophagus, as clarified in the submission's description, during a whopping 63 post development thread.

For these reasons, I request the thread be second chanced and a new factory judge be assigned to it's ruling, and perhaps together, we can succeed where I and Zephyr failed. The Lightsaber was supposed to be a reward for my apprentice after all her hard work over the past five months and it is frustrating that common sense wasn't applied to this ruling, which has slowed down our roleplay over the past week. Annoyed is an understatement.

[member="Noah Corek"] is the dev finished? if not finish the dev then request it to be unarchived.

[member="Karai"] So, the original specs were denied, but you worked with the judge to get it to new specs? From my understanding you want to try and get the originals reinstated. Just trying to get a handle on what you're trying to to do since you didn't really explain what you wanted from a "pending approval" submission being second chanced. FYI, if second chance gets denied or the submission gets denied there's no going back you have to scrap the idea and come up with something new, IE: not having the same submission being resubmitted after its two chances.

Simply put, with the nerfs put in place later in the submission, reducing the impact energy of the weapon actually made it less effective than simply using obsolete weaponry. It would have been more combat effective to launch nuclear warheads well within the combat capabilities of modern day humans, as the current weapon design is 2000 times less effective, does not penetrate shields, and requires an independent reactor within the ship internals. On the other side of things, the original design, while the velocity and total energy does seem to be incredibly high, it is actually only 5 times more powerful than the Tsar Bomba, a 50MT warhead prototype, which was half as powerful as the final design.

I understand the concern with approving a weapon with this amount of strength. But at the same time, I felt my requests to further adjust after adding more and more nerfs were being ignored.

[member="Karai"] I took some time to review the submission and looked at what you had changed etc. The judge was pretty fair with your requests and you were cooperative. Your requests weren't ignored and I discussed things with the judge that looked over your submission.

The request for second chance is denied on the basis of the original stats, but you're still allowed the pending approval - so if you want that you can have it as it has been judged or you can scrap the idea and attempt a new one.

Let Me Push That Button
I would like to second chance this submission;
http://starwarsrp.net/topic/91527-the-coil

I dont feel that I was given a fair chance to actually get it approved. I realize that the ship is pushing the limits of capability however I was never given a true chance to come to an agreeable middle ground with the judge.

He demanded edits that i felt were unrealistic, I used both Canon and Starwars Chaos Canon to point out why his edits made no sense in regards to my submission.

I even stated I would be willing to make edits but was never given a chance to. While I understand his right to deny the sub, I feel it was uncouth and improper to do so without having a proper conversation where we could reach a justifiable middle ground.

I'd like to request that this submission be brought out of archive for a second chance. Apparently, we were having a lot of difficulty translating the existing "weapon value" rules in a way that would appropriately apply to the submission and we were discussing the issue of naming conventions as it applies to the submission in relation to conventional weapons and terminology. I feel that with a bit more work going back and forth with a judge, we can get the submission to an acceptable point and approved.

[member="Captain Larraq"] missed this I'm sorry. Make sure to tag me next time. Also it's approved for second chance I'll pull it and assign an RPJ to it after my shift today.

[member="Charzon Loulan"] since it's a complete rework, please submit a new submission. Second chance denied

as it was denied on concept, which I feel is fine, but the judge did not
main reason I think it fine, I got taught amps kill people not vaults.
Though volts do hurt animals more

I found lot of this just after I asked someone for the right term, it's called stray voltage and has a severed effects on our four legged friends. Whilst death is not always guaranteed, but it does affect them one way or another. The idea of the weapon is simple harness the effect of stray voltage, which is known to electrical utility companies, to kill four legged animals. I am being honest the main plan is take out the Ysalamiri lizards, in the nutrient backpack.

[member="Spencer Varanin"] sorry for at mentioning you, but it has been 8 days. :)

[member="Darth Banshee"]

I reviewed the submission and what you posted in regards towards your concept.

However, I stand by the judge in that this is too broad of a scope and doesn't put into consideration the many different types of Ysalamir harnesses that have been created, many of them EMP resistant.

There are too many variables to consider when you think of what the wearer is also wearing as well.

You can, however, consider a variant where this may be able to work on exposed Ysalamir | IE any on trees that are not in any Ysalamir harness.

If you choose to go that path, I will approve this second chance. If you do not want to do this, and go with your original concept, then this will be denied.
