Smoothing out any creases with an open palm, the girl snorted.
"You sound like a school-teacher. Taking this whole Master gig seriously huh?" With a light grin her pencil returned to writing. Ferociously at that. She'd been the one to express interest in the first place, a little homework wasn't going to dissuade her.
Soon after, Kahlil motioned to her with a finger sealing his lips. There'd been movement -just out of range, though slowly encroaching. It was enough to wring a full, unrestrained smile from the girl who quickly moved to get a peek. From the look of it, the beast was almost canine, circling the carcass with tentative velvet feet. human-like qualities.
Not that it would matter in the end.
After what seemed like an appropriate amount of time spent scoping the terrain, the beast sniffed nearer and nearer until finally tripping the wire. Instant regret.
Panicked at finding itself immobilized the beast withered in its icy confines, no doubt attracting attention.
At the sight the girl tensed, ready to pounce when Kahlilso much as gave the word. It was a display of patience adverse to her whole person, but nevertheless she persisted.
Who knows. Maybe Kahlil was rubbing off on her.
