Dev Shadows of Atrisia

Hmmm Junko was looking at the chiss and yes there was a good idea on her face... more so the pair were really getting to think about it now... plan it in a way that they could make it possible... this was well worth it after all nd being able to logistically move armies and soldiers was always the most difficult part. Securing them, protecting them... it was when they would likely be at the most vulnerable so having the means to do all of it would serve to better aid the Commonwealth aand by extension their allies or members. SHe knew Sasori would develop and mass produce it that was a given it was a family company that aided the Commonwealth and an extension the jedi themselves bring peace.

"This is a way to do it... we might still be yeaars off logistically from making entire operating bases that can be built onto belts but with the right equipment you can develop prefab garrisons in an area with fabrication technologies to start developing armored units and defenses quickly. We might be able to develop better siege towers that could be deployed on planets." THe Admiral was tapping her chin and Junko brought up some displays of one of the concepts. "We had an idea for towers like that but they never got past the planning stages. Much like the flowers we have developed for space these would just be guns and power reactors with automated friend and foe identification."

THe defensive towers were an oler idea... a military byproduct but well... if they could make them work why not. THe ability to develop, drop and use them in an area to cover and protect it was important enough and if they used them correctly they could in theory saturate an area in blanketed protection that would allow them to land forces or set up a forward operating base.. not to mention if they used them as posts around city walls.. it would designate a border and means by which they could defend colonies quickly enough. Actually that might be the better means to look into they had colony ships which brought people and supplies.

"IF we do more... my line of thinking just went towards colony ships, ssend the towers with wall fabrication... they create an initial area, colony ship lands and set up in relative safety then expands outwards to the rest of the world while drones are released to better survey the planet." Her thoughts were racing a mile a minute and the chiss sseemed to be keeping up with her which was good... it helped that well Mara had been doing operations like that for awhile under Akio when they would go to a new world but now it would be done in a better way that didn't wholly involve destroying the local population.

Mara was also one of the Commonwealth Admirals whom well she had worked with them on heavier operations... to greater effect in some cases aat least. It made things much much easier for them.... better case it made those who were with her veterans who knew what the princess liked about those serving and aiding Atrisia. She also knew the dangers that they had faced and that was why she didn't do things that would require a high amount of Atrisian citizens after they had lot quite a lot of them. More so the people had fresh memories of the pain and damage that had been done at the hands of mythos.

"You have plenty of ideas princess and they are sometimes fantastical but... I have learned since you brought back an entire Atrisian military from a colony... not to underestimate you... also that if there is an unattached female within your vicinity you will try and flirt with them... it is just what you do." Junko thought about it and mocked her hand in front of her chest... then her mouth to be shocked. "Why I would never Admiral... I hope you see I am a princess of refinement and taste." A smile on her face as Mara spoke raising her good eyebrow. "Well you do often flirt with my daughter so that is a start." THey both laughed about that.

"That is because your daughter is beautiful... well most women are and flirting with Beauty is the best part as opposed to just wafting through life not knowing what to do...." Junko said it and offered a smaller sad smile. She didn't deny that flirting with all of the people... men, women, alien didn't have its downsides but she rarely met uninteresting people who weren't able to teach her or do something... the more experience she got well the more enjoyment she got to have from life. There was a smile on her face though as she moved with the admiral and they were taking in more of the designs and the ship.

"But Admiral Mara, I would never seek to hurt her which is why I promised only that I wouldn't try and sleep with you... she seemed to roll her eyes at trying to get me to agree not to flirt with you." The admiral seemed to laugh more at that. "While I have come to understand more of Atrisians... she knows that I do not prefer ladies... young ladies her age at that who while great are still learning." She said it and only got a look. "Yes I think she gets that but rumors of you and Admiral Beifong are well rumors and gossip." That got a look from the admiral. "THat is more complicated, we both have children and haave both lost our husbands... we certainly have bonded you could say."

Junko understood and there was always salacious rumor... the galaxy thrived on it. Not just here on Atrisia but anywhere if something could happen there was likely a chance that someone would say it happened to see the reactions or look so far into the smallest interactions. Two admirals who lost their husbands spending time together in private or at least not to the eyes of people... suddenly had them as an item in court wanting to form an alliance. Politically it could be dangerous and there was always the chance that well two military commanders would turn warlord or despot which could be dangerous as a view to outsiders even though they knew them.

There was also as Junko had seen the dangerous thoughts of foreign influences on the Atrisian people again same as in the past... they wanted to avoid all of them and instead were presenting themselves with just having solid soldiers and capable leadership... that she was here and the admiral entertained such a rumor only meant that it waas unlikely to be true or have the merit some seemed to give it. Kanna also didn't have to worry about her princess flirting with her mother... much there was something as Amalia's mother showed to the whole authority figure in tight leather outfits that well was quite nice.

All the talking about mothers in tight clothing and dating well had Junko questioning maybe... just maybe but Mara seemed to shrug about it she wasn't of an opinion one way or the other... if anything she seemed top prefer the mystery as Junko got a chance to see more of the work they had been doing. The planet below was even after terraforming ice swept.. a laarge world sure but it was far away from the sun and most of the system relying on geothermal vents and pockets to support life and environmental control and shielding to keep the cold zones from essentially being vacuum temperatures that would endanger anything out there.

So they were ideal for some of the early development and testing of tunnels and smart roadways.. the means to connect under the snow and ground for rapid troop movement as well as development of cities underground. A secondary means to push for repopulation aside from well the other moons each being occupied by a major or small house within the CHiss thaat could develop it and use it as a stronghold to better expand their influence with the anshin and planet acting like a central hub and neutral ground.... still they were here with engineering teams testing out the viability of the smaart roads and equipment to connect them.

Mara had more things here that she was able to bring up that they would be able to see and work with... improved designs for sure but there was everything else that could become useful to the jedi princess... cause if it worked here and they refined it properly... they could use it in their other worlds and other companies that sold to offworlders outside of the commonwealth... selling to them was always important as the mark up compared to within the commonwealth... well it was substantial and the 'exotic' nature and novelty of their equipment, food, technologies was something exploited like all of those certified organic.

"With more improvements we might even be able to expand hopefully the presence of your people... I know they still like to follow the doctrine that they had of waiting until a threat invades the space they are occupying but that proved dangerous and as part of the Commonwealth we actively try and protect our people as well as the means by which they travel and communicate." Junko said it and the Commonwealth operated here in a small area of the galaxy but they had worlds they could work with and improving their lives, their technologies so that small pocket... was more ideal then most of the galaxy and could be something more self contained.

THe chiss themselves were also good at that... their borders had lasted for thousands upon thousands of years... held against threats like the vong and the grysk or even the kiltik and sith.. they were not slouches with invaders.. it was only when the goal was to utterly destroy a planet that they had faltered... still being able to isolate and hold a swath of the galaxy as your own... the Commonwealth could hold some of that knowledge and let them reinforce their borders, trade routes... the zeltrons would strengthen their business dealings to make it so the credits and good being sold from them to the galaxy brought in substantially more then what they needed to pay.

"We can do a lot and we are here to help despite how some of the other houses act the three main houses of Ma-Kun will support you... the others just need to understand things have changed drastically and outside of this system.. off this planet the maw and others like the sith hunt down the chiss. THe remnants of our government are trying but they only have a few supporters for now and no base to rebuild from. THe maw and empire liked their exploitation of resources on worlds we had before and now we have to adapt and improve." Mara said it and Junko nodded her head. "WIth the chiss recommendations and aid for border security, zeltrons working and helping on commerce and morale and atrisian work ethics we have a powerful machine."

Mara looked at her. "Doin't discount some, the Commonwealth have made allies of former enemies and friends of others who you invite within to be part of it. Expanding and absorbing Atrisian ideals and cultural norms while still using their own. These other worlds in the Atrisi system are a good example and what have you been striving for?" She said it and brought up the display with many of the stations and hyperspace network along the edge of the system. "A shell around the main system staffed primarily by Atrisian citizens and those adopted into it... which is smart you have exponentially grown Atrisia's population without flooding a generation."

JUnko looked at her and raised an eyebrow. "Oh have we effectively increased and replenished our population to before many of us were killed and sacrificed... I hadn't noticed." She said it with aa smile though and she knew it was just not something you dicussed as openingly.. they had invited millions of refugees to have a home and were taking care to respect them just their children received an education that was to make them closer to the commonwealth citizens and subsequent generations would see it continue to improve their siding with them. It wass a chiss like approach to bringing a system under their sway and command besides invading.

Junko looked at Mara and the chiss admiral nodded. "It is smart in some ways and clever in others a way to get loyal citizens a few hundred years down the line and continue to expand while being the humanitarian today. Planting as you said or the emperor seeds for future shade you will not see." She shrugged "It is a mentality that not a lot in the galaxy would be wanting to keep... if they could help it the people are all about instant gratification entire worlds and governments don't move on a whim... though the emperor and empresses does seem to be able to pick up speed now and again." A smile remained there.

"Now lets see if we can annoy some curmudgeon chiss houses who think they don't need to be thankful to their allies for a place to sleep." Mara said it and was leading Junko towards the second hanger bay so that they could continue out and about to the planet. THe fanfare and welcome not in here it was all business with fighter craft and pilots working on them alongside their tech crews. HEr handmaidens were with her and Junko bowed looking at the admiral who was there with her... the ship they would get to take down was well a chiss version of their runabout... just as sleek but more focused on its capabilities.

She entered the shuttlecraft with Mara and it was as she expected, less boxy but every bit as functional and like their own. Maybe smaller but made so that a smaller squad could be transported here. She was able to see more as well and took some interest in it... despite what she was seeing though it... gave her ideas for a third model for the runabout since they now had better dimensional compression technologies that would give them more space... actually second models of several atrisian and sasori vessels would benefit from what they were expanding on and if they could do it well they would have a much better business model.

"Are you liking the look of our advanced shuttlecraft?" Mara said it and had a little pride to her voice... or was Junko imagining it when they were able to move forward and along. "IT is beautiful on the exterior and the interior just as much. It gives me ideas of how to improve the design for the model three runabouts if you can pack the same technolollgies into a smaller and sleeker framework." THey would of course need to test it but if they could manage it why not the power plant of the shuttle would be their dark energy reactor which was one of the strongest and safest forms in the galaxy few other companies could match.

THe ship itself continued for them to be other parts improved but Junko was also looking at the cockpit which was slimmer as well... only one person being able to fit within it.... but oh there was a higher level of ease and comfort as it looked like all of the amenities were designed to be operated from there. Full readouts of the ship and with a skilled enough pilot you could likely turn this into a combat ships easily operated by a small infiltration team. Mara touched the wall panel and a small bench came out for the two of them while the pilot went to the cockpit. It didn't seal but the seat was made to use hardlight displays to keep them from distraction.

More so she was seeing some of the chiss were altering their outfits... the atrisian inspired design showing the inth and hypermembrane but in a way that was distinctly CHiss in form and style but Atrisian in function and protection. Mara catching her and smiling. "We have reverse engineered the materials and added a few things... micropoles to them which allows it to generate its own shield in the design and miniture didact power cells... with it even out of combat the people could be safe and the interface you help design and show us is well impressive for what it is able to do and aid in.. so we have been looking at ways to compact and make it smaller."

Junko was looking at her of the idea of making the already densely packed and small Kirano interface somehow smaller. IT would be a feat in of itself but... she wasn't going to doubt the ability just... what would be the need... maybe... the jedi princess grinned. "Now that would be something if you were able to do that and have essentially a dedicated means to retain all of its upgrades. The SMART weapons system has been masterful for increasing efficiency of Atrisian soldiers for instance." THey were already trained using well some of the better values of other groups in the galaxy but they were augmented with their equipment.

"GIve an Atrisian soldier a knife and they can turn it into a sword... I have seen some of the new training courses aand they are much more robust compared to where they were once upon a time.... the armor as well has just been getting more and more advanced which is a plus do not get me wrong... I think there is always room to improve aand get it better. THeir martial arts for instance and prowess in cultural situations might need a little work but most aare smarter, faster and physically fit compared to other navies or military forces... I would waager better trained then chiss forces and with more national pride at least in some cases."

Junko beamed. "IT has been our goals... we looked at a lot of other educational systems and... well Atrisia could stand to do a lot... we have the time and the talent we just needed the meaans to make sure the few taught the many." She said it and they were heading down and into a hanger. "The emperor was all for it... educated masses lean towards the ones who give them what they want and we are working to eliminate several of the base needs like shelter, food and drcurity... if those are handled the people are more willing to help with national defense, with advancing our ideals over worrying about if there is going to be food for their family.... its the economy stupid."

Mara raissed an eyebrow and Junko nodded. "People don't worry about some issues they worry about their needs... our strong economy means those are met... makes warlords like mythos unappealing when their only offer is 'I am great'." THat got a nod of the admirals head... it was an important distinction in many cases as the primary means most groups came to take over planets was... well it was claiming they were doing everything the others didn't and that they were the bestest ever to happen... which was usually not true but it was what happened at least... the Atrisians were not the first but they were just being honest about it.

Junko laughed again with Mara and between the two of them well.. they would be able to really deep dive into it and make sure things could work... Mara had after all been here for decades now working with them since Akio so she had a better perspective and as they were heading down and landing in the larger Hanger JUnko was able to see the snow swept outside. "The environmental stations are working as intended right?" She said it and looking at how much snow there was with the dome nearby did give her an idea. as the snow was collecting around the outside of it and they had flown through. "Yes it is."

Mara spoke and was walking as the runabout landed opening the doors and heading out for the two of them. She smiled to herself though breathing in and then out a little. "We have worked hard to vastly improve the design here... with the living modules technologies of course it gave us a base to start but this is a world meant to be fortified and used for its harshness above ground... below will be for the houses and the moons provide a security to us all with their manufacturing and emplacements." She said it and was giving them more time to move about now as Junko walked and could see more of the chiss who turned and offered bows of their head to her.

She bowed to them as well and looked at their uniforms for their houses repeating the formal greeting since the ones that were here were from Mara's house... which made it easier. SHe would be able to greet them and Mara led the way into the central chamber. Below the snows and filled with dozens of other chiss from around the planet and the surrounding moons who were giving progress reports to each other about resources and development. The ANshin housed their elected official who would bring all concerns to the emperor or empress or well her and SHoma if the need arose but they rarely did which was why she spoke to Mara.

"THank you all for having the time to see me." Junko said it asa she stood there and looked up and around without moving her head. SHe could take in all of them and everything happening." She said it with a smile on her face when she was able to check it out and they seemed to be straight faced in most cases. The other chiss almost seemed like for the part here they were not going to speak while Mara remained where she was but was by Junko's side... the one whose voice came out first was Aldi... the one who was appointed to talk with them so that was helpful but she imagined the chiss did it more because Mara wasn't in charge then he wanted to.

Still ALdi had proven in some ways to be friendly by chiss terms with outsiders... even outsiders who literally gave them a world after they had lost theirs... most still had that pride and annoyance that came with the territory at least. Junko had learned to navigate that away from problem and they would even use the stubborn houses to benefit them as Mara had shown her the means to better handle and understand Chiss cultural aspects. For other things well they would figure it out as they were going forward. Junko replied on the fact that... the chiss houses were full of pride and resentment at timesss to get them tow ork with the others.

"THank you for coming... I know from reports that you have been busy on Atrisia itself." He said it and stood there. "We wanted to give our progress reports in person, the houses have made significant gains in terms of their rebuilding efforts and even in recovering other members of their houses who were still out in the galaxy. Our production efforts have likewise increased exponentially with the ANshin and other resource modules. We have no other need for mass interraction besides the Commonwealths defensive fleet and reinforcing the fortresss moons of Atrisian eight." He said it all very clinical like a prepared speech and JUnko bowed.

"I see." She said it and well there wasn't much else to take in requests for them to be more involved were largely.... not ignored they were tabled to be debated until the houses could have the right people there in person to discuss it. Then they would go round and round mostly wasting time and come to no conclusion that could be agreed by all to make an agreement and it would die within a few months... something that was frustrating but the ones who already had worked with and joined the naval forces were good enough and some have expanded to the Anshin which served as a cultural hub of sorts to unite all of them.

Mara looked well neutral and Junko followed suit expression wise as it was made clear from them returning to their discussion that she was dismissed. THey wouldn't be so rude as it were verbally but they were also not going to make it well a chance for an argument. "THank you." Junko said it and was leaving as she walked with Maraa until the doors closed. "THey are.... frustrating.... I do not know how the chiss got anything done before." She said it and Mara smirked. "Painfully slow.. the houses do not like to admit thhat they owe Atrisia... even worse they do not like to admit that it was because of their slowness Csilla was lost."

Junko listened to her and... there was wisdom to that.. she understood it... she even agreed with it... she could even go so far as to say that she was all for seeing their point of view out here... closer to the core, with allies they had had only briefly under an emperor once upon a time.... and yet most of them the ones not in the military wanted to act like they were above it all or not part of the groups coming with their hands out and open wanting aid. It only slightly annoyed her... truthfully she was all for being fair about it and giving them what they needed. THe princess never would have turned them away for being in need but she did like not feeling like Atrisia was supposed to become the doormat.

Mara seemed to be picking up on what she was thinking and nodded her for her as they went back to some of the other areas... a large room for food with the others. "The houses are not all like that these are the politicians.. the ones who survived who make every day a game of who can be in control... where as the others just want food, water and to live their lives... they would see everything be cutthroat and a game of lies or deception." Junko understood that more.. the Atrisian court had been like that once everyone tearing each other down and crabs in a bucket approaches worked for despots who wanted to maintain power.

"Political games admiral are... not needed in most cases. I much prefer we work together but if need be well politicians are able to be handled." She said it with a shrug and was prepared for a number of different scenarios in those cases... they might be able to do much more if they were lucky. Junko looked around the room that Mara had taken her too and it was less populated but had some other offcials in here... largely the ones who worked closer with Atrisia and were not heads of major houses. THey would be able to talk with and not act dismissive compared to them and she could even see some of the others were here.

"Master Dejah." SHe said it with a smile and the well olderish zeltron turned. Pink red skin almost tanned but with crimson hair thaat was striking to many. Her zeltron style jedi robes were that mixture of revealing without being lewd in most cases and allowed her to balance her cultures... her skills with a blade and in diplomatic situations had been one of the key reasons for them to rebuild Barsoom here on Yokimbo while the oriignal temple was still on zeltros trying to reverse many of the radical changes valee allowed to their homeworld that ruined portions of industry and economy. Recovery was importaant after all and here they could send relief packages.
