"I worked for the Protectorate before." Which was true. She had mentioned that before," and not all Force users are only Jedi--" and a small shrug as of the agree on the existence of the latter," or Sith."

As for the lightsaber...

"Not all force users carry a lightsaber. I just choose not to." It didn't mean she wasn't trained for it. Nothing fancy but she could handle herself for a few. "A handful of things. How you can push and pull things; the telekinetics."

She scrunched up her forehead thinking.

"Basic defenses." Then the dimple flashed again

"How to jumpstart a speeder."

Jumpstart a speeder? That's possible? So many applications of the Force still eluded the blonde girl from Naboo. Anything and everything she could possibly learn though she was open to.

"I see!" The floor they were looking for finally arrived, lift doors parting ways for them to exit out of. "Well, if you think you can teach me I would be silly to decline!"

Jamie hopped out of the lift, bouncing on the balls of her feet as she turned to Kaile. "Maybe on the way to Sullust? Would that be okay?"

While eager to learn, she was still quite hungry and was a bit anxious to get something to fill that empty feeling in her stomach. There was plenty of time for training and learning more about the Jedi and the Force after.

"Really?!" It was odd how excitable the strawberry blonde could get at the simple acceptance in Kalie's offer. "Great!" she even gave a tiny bounce at that. Rocking onto her feet, Kaile happily stepped out of the Turbolift. Where she immediately turned to face Jamie, walking backwards as she kept up with the conversation. The dimple flashed anew.

"Yeah, we can do it later. Food first!" the hum of cloud cars and fresh air would hit them. This level was cleaner than the others. Polished amber walls, a thicker crowd and open air balconies.

"I couldn't do much now anyways." she' add, grinning with impish devilry. Some may wonder how the woman could act years younger. Where did she get the energy? Spin and a half turn and she would match Jamie's pace.

"Bobo makes that a bit hard." she'd elaborate, hooking her thumbs along the straps. There were a few directional signs up ahead, allowing the duo to narrow down on that StarCaf and other fast food joints. There was a McYoda's, Popo's Peepers, Yum Bunnies, and of course, all the typical fare from the sector.

Watching as Kaile walked with her in a backwards stride made Jamie laugh. The older girl was a total bubble-head in an adorable sort of way. Back on Naboo she'd had a friend similar to Kaile in that way. The mannerisms, the cheerfulness, the springy steps. It was sometimes so cute that it was obnoxious to others. It never bothered her very much though. While she didn't outwardly express her eagerness all the time, she was a bouncy mess in her own mind.

"Bobo makes it hard? To use the Force?" She looked at her new friend with another curious eye. "Why does he make it hard?"

Her eyes averted from Kaile for a moment to the signs up ahead, noting the StarCaf down and to the left. Almost as soon as her eyes left the signs pointing towards the various eateries Jamie made the realization in her head that she'd felt funny back in the lift because of Bobo.

"Wait! Is that why I felt so weird when you pushed yourself against me back when those two were shooting at us? I thought I was just nervous. He makes you feel like that all the time!? And prevents you from using the Force?"

Why would Kaile carry around a pet like that!? He could get her killed!

A pixie grin frosted Kaile’s lips, and she gave an eager nod.

“Mmhm,” she confirmed Jamie’s suspicions, a bit amused at her surprise. Granted, the young woman from Naboo likely didn’t know about Ysalamir, much the less what they were able to do with a Force User. A cheeky grin would shine at Jamie’s direction. Ahh, where to begin?!

“All the time.” Kaile would sing without a concern in the ‘verse, simply agreeing with a smile. “Kinda feels a bit like I’m being smothered, but you get used to it.” her smile would broadened with a grin. “He’s a Ysalamiri” the Lorrdian would elaborate, explaining as she took a step to the left and headed towards StarCaf.

A spin and twist, and once again, Kaile was walking backwards, one foot sliding back then the other.

“They have the ability to created this Force neutral or null bubble,” she began to gesture with her hands, sweeping them up and over as if enclosing herself in a dome. “It makes it so a Force user can’t exert influence over the space within it.”

That was why Kaile couldn’t be discerned through the Force. Not while she had Bobo with her.

"So, let me get this straight."

One hand dropped to her hip, the other gesturing through the air as she spoke. "You can use the Force. Or at least, sort of. And yet -" Her finger pointed toward the pack holding Bobo. "He makes it so you can't. And that feeling I felt -" She pointed back at herself, "Is the same feeling you have, except all the time?" Jamie dropped her waiving hand to the free hip, her nose wiggling, forcing her lips in the direction it moved.

"And you enjoy it?" That blew her mind. "I think with prolonged exposure to that I'd feel nauseated permanently." Not to mention the danger of it, if Kaile needed the Force for something! "What happens if you're in trouble and he prevents you from being able to do something?"

The StarCaf was only a handful of steps away now. Already the smell of fresh pastries and caf drifted through the air to entice the senses. It was if a cue to her stomach to grumble.

Well she was right about the nauseating. After being with Bobo for so long, it was more the sudden return of the Force that gave Kaile vertigo. Jamie didn’t understand the why, Kaile got that. Then again, not many people did. For the Lorrdian, her work meant she was on her own for large swaths of time, away from friends and people who knew the real Kaile - not the espion.

In that Bobo was special. Much like Kurt now. They were both a very important part of her life.

The impish grin would grow at Jamie’s bafflement. “You get used to it.” she told her, still walking her backward glide. If anything, it was Jamie’s reaction that would cue her in on things, and periodically, she’d glance back.

A soft cheeky grin flashed that dimple again, “If I’m in trouble?” her eyes danced with mirth, “Reckon what everyone else without the Force does. Seize opportunity and do what I can. The Force ain’t necessary to save the day, “ she spun on her foot and set herself forward again, coming up to the Star Caf.

“Besides... he’s family.” odd to say for a lizard, but perhaps once Jamie met Bobo, she would understand. A thought came to her, and she flashed a mischievous grin.

“And he has other perks too.”

The blonde's shoulders twitched in a shiver. She wasn't convinced that she'd ever get used to that feeling. The momentary closeness with Kaile was more than enough of an uneasy feeling for her to prefer not to experience it again.

"I'm not so sure about that. I think for now I'll take your word for it on that."

Jamie understood that people without an affinity for the Force did what they could, seized the opportunity as Kaile said, but only because they had no other choice. Prior to her own self discovery she would have better understood Kaile's stance on things. Now though? With the endless applications of the Force? It seemed silly to take needless chances. Bobo might have been a pet, sure, but if she involved herself in dangerous work like it sounded, she was adding an unnecessary complication to things.

"Just seems to me a bit like throwing caution to the wind. Anyways," She laced her fingers around the door handle to the StarCaf. "We're here." She smiled, puffy cheeks lifting as she pulled the glass door open for Kaile.

“Not really.” Kaile would reply, truly believing that. Oh that wasn’t to say that the Lorrdian did not understand that the Force was infinite, it is just that she personally believed that the Force was completely necessary for day to day living.

Stepping inside, Kaile would turn, waiting for Jamie to join her. The most amazing scents and aromas of roasted vine-coffee beans and savory pastries would welcome them like the bosom of a mother, engulfing them whole. Momentarily distracted, Kaile gave a slight pause, taking a deep inhale at the delicious smell.

Now it wasn’t only Jamie’s stomach growling.

“Oh stars, I didn’t realize how hungry I was!” she exclaimed, turning to Jamie with a wide grin. A waggle of her eyebrows relayed her growing excitement at the prospect of food. “Come on, let’s see what they have.” with a nod towards the main counter, she motioned for them to go to the deli area.

“The Force is great and all,” the jovial young woman would continue, giving a slight gesture here and there as she spoke with her hands. “But it is just a tool. You can use it and hone it with practice -- but it ain’t all that you are or can be.” Kaile told her, coming to a stop in front of the deli.

Mouth started watering like crazy at the tiny platters of sandwiches behind the holographic shielding.

“Oh they have a curry nuna salad sandwich!” she said with notable excitement, bending down to get a closer look.

The moment the two stepped inside and senses were filled by the assault of sweet treats, fresh baked breads, sandwiches, salads, and other delights Jamie felt her stomach signal with a sharp pain to remind her of what the mission objective was. And while her tummy cared little for what it received, her mouth had been lost on the glass cases showcasing the many different items for sale, backed up by the wait staff behind the counter where above them hung projector screens showing off prepared dishes of varying styles and tastes.

"Ughhhhhh." It was the only sound she could make as sparkling eyes darted left to right, taking in everything. For a moment the blonde zoned out, time and space seemingly froze. There were so many options! In a moment she'd feel like an anxiety attack was building from all of the choices. Can I just eat one of everything!?

Jamie looked at Kaile who also seemed thoroughly taken away by everything, her face near plastered to the glass, looking at one particular item.

"I guess that's fair." She said plainly, though truthfully her mind had already left the building and was entirely replaced by the prospect of eating. Her teeth lowered to the inside of her bottom lip, biting it as she tried desperately to make some kind of decision as to what she wanted. It all looked wonderful and delicious. The girl wandered back and forth looking up at the menu and down at the food.

"So what you reckon you want, Jamie?" Kaile would pop back up, bouncing on her feet and giving a wag of her eyebrows. She bit her lower lip in excitement, already aiming for that curry sandwich. Maybe she will even splurge and get herself an Eriaduian Chai latte.

"It's on me! Get whatever your little heart desires," the Lorrdian told the younger woman with earnest encouragement. She was already swinging her bag around to play with the ties of her satchel. They loosen between her fingers, and she flipped the lid back. As she dug around, Kaile's smile grew wider.

"Well someone is awake!" she mused aloud, heavily amused and with a chuckle. "Guess you might as well meet him, seems like he's a bit antsy." Kaile told Jamie, flicking her brown gaze up with certain humor for a few moments before glancing back down. A small clip and snap would unlock the small door of the nutrient tube, and in a surprising flash of green, a small lizard like creature no bigger than Kaile's palm went climbing up her arm. Tiny little claws, black beady eyes, and a iridescent green scales with a light coating of fur. Much like a testy cat at being cloistered for too long, Bobo scurried up and over to perch upon at Kaile's shoulder.

There, he gave a proper stretch, rather actively attentive for such a little thing.

"Hey there, got all antsy in there didn't you?" Bobo gave a slight huff, his pink tongue flicking over his flat lips. "Bobo, meet Jamie.. Jamie... This is Bobo."

A delightful grin frosted Kaile's face.

Bobo, seeing an opportunity to preen, darted himself up and puffed up his chest.

"I don't knowwwww! It all looks like heaven!" One of Jamie's many quirky issues was indecisiveness. Rather than choosing for herself she would often let someone else dictate her decisions. Whether that was because of a sense of anxiety or an over-stimulation of choice she wasn't quite sure. "Pick something for me? I'll be here for days if I have to think about it." A nervous smile poured over her face, followed by a bit of laughter she couldn't contain.

"Either that or I'll look like a Hutt before I leave here, eating everything in sight."

Luckily for her the moment was broken up by the sudden entrance of one Bobo. A chipper little lizard fellow who scampered about up Kaile's arm and set himself on display for her to gaze upon with wonder filled eyes. Jamie leaned a bit closer to get a better look at the little guy, only to pull back when he nearly touched her. He was cute, but strange. She'd never seen anything like it before. Naboo had some odd creatures, but she'd never come across anything that looked quite like him.

Jamie bent her knees a bit and looked at the lizard, waiving at it as if it were a person. "Hi there, Bobo!" Did it understand? She had no idea if it was just a non-sentient little thing that enjoyed the company of Kaile because she appeared to be a giant moving tree, or if he had some kind of actual bond with her. For every day she had been off Naboo she'd learned 100 new things. It was all very exhausting in her mind.

“Umm…”

Kaile bit her lower lip, going back up to the floating holographic menu. There were far too many things.

“Do you like wraps?” Kaile would ask the younger woman. Wraps were pretty yummy too. Personally she enjoyed breakfast burritos, but it was hard enough to get fresh eggs in space. Arceneau Trade did have a lovely frozen collection that she often would indulge by squirreling some away. It was one of the few indulgences that she spent her credits on back on the Messa; that and ingredients to make Kurt the desert they shared. She still had to create that nifty one she saw back on Bespin.

BlueMilk. It was the fanciest restaurant she’d ever seen and it had this delicious concoctions of icecream and a globe of chocolate that would melt as you would pour hot caramel over it. It was fascinating to watch. Something she figured Kurt would get a kick out of.

“A nuna bacon and tomato wrap?” the blonde would give her an indecisive look, as if she just couldn’t make up her mind “A wrap it is! I like them with this nifty dressing.”

Bobo would in the meantime be fascinated by Jamie, for her hello and wave, he moved in place, giving a twirl and a slight cock of his head like that of a puppy. What a curious thing.

“We’ll take the nuna bacon and tomato wrap… annndd -- The Curry sandwich!” Well there was that order. “Do you want anything to drink?” Kaile nibbled her lower lip again.

“I might get the Eradiuian Chai…”

"That sounds fine." She smiled. Jamie wasn't a picky eater, she enjoyed most everything except for certain very strange foods with slimy textures or thick, heavy creams. It wasn't so much the flavors but the way it sat in her stomach and felt in her mouth as she tried to get it down. So long as she wasn't offered anything of that sort she'd be satisfied.

Oh gosh...Another decision.

"Uhhh..." Long pause. Deep breath. The girl looked back up to the menu, blue eyes scanning and hopping between hot and cold beverages.

"Mmmmmm...." Just pick something! "I'll take a large iced Mocha Caf with milk and mallow." Phew. Crisis averted. Jamie simply looked at the menu and picked a drink that sounded the most like chocolate without actually being hot chocolate.

Her eyes turned back to the little thing named Bobo. Her hand slowly moving to pet him, as if it might be something he would enjoy. She really had no idea what to expect. Maybe he'd bite her under the assumption that her hand was food or out of aggression to protect his territory? Jamie honestly had no clue what she was doing. He seemed friendly enough, and he looked like a pet, so why not pet the pet?!

"Oh you like it iced?" That was curious for Kaile, she never had it iced before. This was a splurge in and of itself. There was avid curiousity washing over her face, handing the credit chip over for the attendant to subtract the amount. "Never had it like that." She told her, only to giggle as Bobo gave Jamie's finger a litte quick like.

As soon as Jamie touched him, that odd fuzzy sensation would return. As if the white noise of the Force had gone silent.

"He won't bite. He does get a bit worried now and then." They would take a step to the side to allow other patrons to buy their goods. It was a busy time, with lots of different species gathering round. Kaile enjoyed that. She enjoyed observing people. They all had an interesting backstory.

"You want to hold him?" She asked Jamie, waiting for their sandwiches. " he won't hurt you at all. It's just the fuzzy sensation that will be weird."

"You've never had iced Caf?" Jamie asked Kaile with avid curiosity. "It's the best!" She'd just have to be introduced, if that were the case! "You can try mine then!"

Stepping over toward the pickup counter and out of the line with her strawberry blonde counterpart she felt the small reptilian tongue graze her finger just as she moved to pet him, when instantaneously that nauseous feeling from earlier returned. Her hand instinctively pulled away from Bobo, as if she had just burned herself or similar.

"Oh! I'm sorry!" She exclaimed. Jamie hadn't meant to startle the little thing by her knee-jerk reaction to the nulling sensation she encountered when touching him.

"I'm not sure if it's safe. Do you think it's okay? I might get sick... I don't want to drop him."

Kaile shook her head, concern in her expression. "No.. sorry, it's fine. I forget that not everyone is used to it." she apologized, clearly feeling a bit sheepish about it all. "I just excited about him t'hatsall." reassuring Jamie that it was okay.

"It's nice to meet new people."

Should have thought about that ahead of time Kaile! Silly girl! The mental chide would follow a bashful grin. "Okay, don't worry about it. If you want to hold him, you can later at the ship." Kaile offered instead.

"Better to eat first." definitely needed to fill their stomach. "Rest and then we can see what happens afterward." a thought came to her. "It would be good of you to get used to it though," she said with a second thought.

For safety reasons.

"There are others like Bobo. Larger though." she explained, gesturing for Jamie to join her at the end of the bar where their food and drinks would be delivered.

"They have a wider bubble too. The more there are, the wider that fuzzy feeling spreads. Knowing how it feels and being able to keep yourself okay through it might be good to learn."

Granted, Jamie wouldn't have the length of training Kaile had, but it would be something.

"At the ship then! That might be best, safest." She nodded to both Kaile and Bobo. "Do you want to play on my ship little guy? There's plenty of room there for you!" Oh boy, now she was talking to the thing like it was a person. Perhaps a bit of Kaile's infectious personality was rubbing off on her the longer she spent around the girl.

Attention returned to Kaile once more, "Eating might help with the feeling I suppose. If not, at least I won't be worried about eating my own hand." Blue eyes watched as the staff prepped their food and drinks with eager enthusiasm. "Bigger than Bobo? Like adults? Is he a baby? Or just different breeds?"

A wider bubble the more there were? Did people commonly carry these things around with them? Exactly how often would she encounter people with their own little ysalamir?

The fact that Jamie was interacting with Bobo won her massive points. A hundred points! If there was a point system for the Lorrdian, Jamie hit jackpot. If there was a way to get into Kaile's good graces, it was through being kind. Not only just to everyone in general, but to those Kaile cared about the most. Bobo has traveled with her for the past five years. He's been with her through some of her roughest times, simply being there.

A rather lonely concept when thinking that all Kaile had before Kurt was a small, mutated lizard.

Bobo certainly was on par with his owners thoughts, especially with Jamie treating him as if he were more than just a lizard. A small circle and a bob of his head would evoke his approval.

"Yeah, about a meter or so." Kaile told Jamie, elaborating on it. However, when she asked if Bobo was a baby.. That's when she gave a slight grimace.

"No, he's not. He's one of a kind." taking a deep breath, Kaile would elaborate further,"I saved him from a mad scientist who was using animals to warp with the Force. He was the only one who survived all the cloning tests. I couldn't just leave him behind..."

An aching expression came over Kaile then, and she glanced down to lightly run her finger along Bobo's back, feeling each of the little ridges.

"He's technically a mutant. Reckon he'll always be this small. He hasn't changed much in the past five years."

Jamie's eyes widened in shock, her hand covering her mouth and the gasp that followed. "Oh no! That's awful!" Experimenting on animals was the stuff one only read about in novels, not something that really happened! Or rather, it shouldn't! "Oh you poor little thing!" Her hand plopping him comfortingly on the head despite the momentary feeling it sent through her.

"Well, at least he's in good hands now." Her eyes shifted back to Bobo. "Aren't you!? Yessss you are!"

The people standing in line began to stare questioningly at the two, gawking over a lizard on Kaile's shoulder.

As the two conversed the staff slid down the Chai and Caf to Kaile, followed by the pair's sandwiches on top of a small tray. Jamie bent over, picking it up for her and looked around the small seating area for a place to sit. She pointed with her finger extending from the tray towards the window in the corner. "Over there is empty if you want."
