Well.

That was awkward.

At least Kaile had the sense to look sheepish.

“oh… well.. then…” random awkward draw out as she said it. As an afterthought she let go of Jamie’s hands. One hand went to rub the back of her neck as she gave a silly grin, dimples flashing.

“Yeah, best thing is to start searching. Reckon if you see anything familiar we can go from there.” sometimes, Kaile embarrassed herself. It was rare that she read situations wrong. Doing so was a reminder that not everything is what it seems. Just something she has to take into consideration.

“And you aren’t a disaster,” Kaile would tell Jamie, trying to assure her of the sort. “There are times when I’m pretty silly about things.”

She gave a sigh and a roll of her eyes.

“It’s a wonder that I don’t end up hurting myself.”

The lift began its slight shift, then its accent. “Although I’ve often a good story or to for it.” she grinned.

"Yeaaaaa...." Jamie's face flared with rosy red embarrassment. "I suppose we can just ride the lift through a bunch of different floors. I can poke my head out and see if I recognize anything. If not, we keep moving, if so, we look around? Would that work?"

Not much of a plan, but realistically all she had to go on was what little she could remember and the idea that she would recognize the floor she had started on when seeing it. Sometimes she was a real bubble-head.

"Lesson learned." She said, tossing her shoulders up and then back down, her back leaning against the wall of the lift as it began to rise a few floors. "Next time I'll remember where I started."

Jamie's eyes turned to Kaile, "I'd be more worried about the ones looking to hurt you, like the fine gentleman that seemed intent to pluck your head from your shoulders earlier for touching his skycar." There was a pause, then the smile on her face turned to a mild laugh.

Kaile would crinkle her nose in memories, scrunching up her face. Humor was easy to come to the strawberry blonde. She gave another sheepish grin.

“Yeaah…. well. I don’t go out searching for trouble. I was just distracted a bit there.” In fact, searching for trouble was the exact opposite of her mission objective. One couldn’t be an embedded agent if they managed to get attention instead of blending in!

Bad Kaile!

“I do well enough though,” she assured the younger blonde, crossing her arms across her chest. Back resting against the turbolift wall, she gave a sassy grin. “I can wiggle my way out of situations. Running helps too.” a wink flashed over to Jamie in notable impish humor.

“How about you? Any dire straits you’ve had to wiggle free from?”

"Distracted a bit?" She nudged Kaile with her elbow. "I think you were a bit more than distracted. Entranced was more like it. I saw you staring like you'd just met a celebrity." Jamie looked to the bubbly girl's shoulder at Bobo. "What do you think, little guy? Was she entranced?" She bopped him lightly on the head in a bit of a pat. "Yeaaaaaa....I thought so too."

With a nod she answered Kaile's follow up question. "Well, not many. Let's see." She thought for a moment, finger on her chin.

"I got my face beaten in by my opponent during the championship fencing match back home. Suppose you could say I wiggled out of that by Force pushing him a dozen or so feet onto his ass." She rubbed her jaw, as if there was some sort of lingering phantom pain.

“Maaaaaaybe.” Kaile would grant a mischievous side-ways glance at Jamie. “I do like my shinies.” the agent would agree, confessing her weakness.

“I hadn’t seen a Blackberry face to face in a looooong while. She had wonderful lines.” Kaile gave a soft sigh, leaning back against the lift enraptured by the memory. “Bet you the ride would have been wonderful.” lost in her reverie, Kaile’s face turned into one of whimsical wonder.

“Flying out there in the clouds, feeling as if you could reach out and just scoup ‘em up.” her lips would curve upwards in her dreamy imagination.

Catching herself, Kaile gave a slight start, then another sheepish grin. “Sorry about that.” the pink tip of her tongue went darting over her lower lip. Straightening, with Bobo enjoying the extra attention from Jamie, another dimple would flash in her growing smile.

“Force pushing him is good. Have to think on your feet.” Kaile would tell her with approval. “And use every opportunity. You never know what might happen.”

“I’ve had my share of situations where I’ve had to calm down an extra friendly patron at the restaurant a time or too when they got handsy.”

Spelled my name wrong, missy :p

Jamie stood watching as Kaile lost herself in the moment, absorbed entirely by the idea of catching even the smallest ride in one of the skycars of her dreams. The blonde's chest raised and lowered as she laughed quietly to herself, her cheeks puffing out as she listened to the strawberry blonde describe the perfect scenery. It was rather adorable. The girl lived with her head in the clouds, just chasing simple dreams and fun.

"It's quite alright." She would say, just as the doors began to open to the first level they'd chosen. Jamie poked her head out and quickly realized she hadn't been to this floor before. She'd hold out her arm and stop Kaile from wandering out, instead just pressing another button and step back again against the wall.

"Interestingly enough I wasn't on my feet. In fact, he was on top of me. Had his fists all up in my face making me his personal workout bag. Odd, given that it was a fencing match. I hadn't realized I also signed up for a boxing match." In truth the kid was a brute, one that most everyone was afraid of simply because of his size and temper. Most avoided him, Jamie however liked to antagonize him. That was quite likely the reason she'd been the recipient of his rage that day.

The turbolift began its ascent anew. Whoever was looking to use this lift the next fifteen minutes was going to be one irritated sapient.

“And they didn’t stop the match?” there was surprise in Kaile’s voice, the kind that wondered just what kind of fencing match this was. Wasn’t fencing just supposed to be… fencing???

“So what happened next?” she inquired, crossing her arms across her chest. The turbo lift slowed, then came to a halt. A slight pause then the doors slid open for another floor. Kaile held out her hand over the threshold, making sure that the doors wouldn’t close.

Of course, this was about the time a family of Ortolan’s came in. Their tiny blue bodies waddling in, their long trunks wiggling and swinging. And oh those cute little floppy ears!

“Oh.. sorry!” Kaile apologized, leaning back against the wall to let them through. Across the way, she sent an expression of, well… what are we supposed to do?

Meanwhile, Bobo’s head would bob in and out between Kaile’s hair, almost as if he was playing hide and seek with Jamie.

Jamie laughed, thinking about how that day had gone. She'd never been so bruised and beaten in her life.

"Oh, no." She waived her hand, dismissing the idea. "They stopped the match alright. Or at least, they tried to. The buzzer went off; Several times." Her shoulders shrugged. "The refs even tried to remove him but he was just so full of adrenaline and rage, they couldn't get him off of me. Every time he hit me I thought I'd black out, but I somehow stayed awake. I think in total he punched me in the face about nine or ten times before I finally mustered up the energy to panic enough and Force push him off of me."

She paused her story as the Ortolan's stepped into the lift with them, pressing a button on the lift to travel to a floor of their own. Jamie poked her head out just for a moment to ensure this was also the incorrect floor, before returning to her story, though her voice was substantially more quiet now.

"That was the moment I realized I'd done something impossible. That's also when everyone else found out, including my now teacher."

The Ortolans would curiously pan their tiny black eyes from Jamie over to Kaile, then back again. Truth be told, it made Kaile feel as if tiny, blue stuffed animals were brought to life, and now they were being followed by a family of Ortolans! Thankfully, that only occurred within the spa of her imagination, but prompted a big grin. Two floors later, the floor that the small blue sapients selected came.

"Please, feel free," she would gesture, smiling with a sunny disposition. The Ortologans gave a small nod in gratefulness, their ears and snouts lightly moving in their appreciation.

"Hey no problem!" Kaile would offer with cheer, waving a hand. "So that was your first time?" the Lorrdian would raise her eyebrows curiously. A thought came to her and she quickly added. "Using the Force that is."

Jamie remained quiet as the family dismissed themselves from the lift, and Kaile's sunny farewell offering as the doors closed once again, the lift shaking a bit as it again began to rise to another floor, and hopefully one that Jamie would recognize. Spending the last bit of daylight riding a turbolift, while interesting, was not in her mind the best way time could be spent.

"Yea." She tilted her head side to side, as if contemplating her answer. "Or at least, knowingly using it. I was rather scared of what I'd just done, like it wasn't normal." In fact when it had originally happened she had looked around, wondering if some strange entity had thrust the boy from atop her across the ring in a valiant attempt to save her. When she'd realized it was her own doing she was beyond words.

"My teacher says the Force had always played some minor role in my life, which explained why I excelled at the sport. She said it was like the Force guided my hands, gave me proper reflexes, helped me to predict where my opponents would strike, or something like that. I'm still kinda new to the whole thing, and I don't quite understand all there is to know I guess."

Kaile would understand Jamie’s confusion. She too went through the discovery, the bewilderment, and the prejudice.

“Yeah,” she began, giving a small nod. “It can be rather confusin’. But she’s right. The Force one way or the other guides us.” the lift gave a louder shudder, as they went through one of the longer shafts that would send sound waves echoing back at the duo.

“For me… I was one of the few who was able to use it.” a more somber smile took then. “Not many folk knew about it. Others… “ her voice began to fade, and it was evident by the grimace.

“Well some folk will always be fearsome of what they don’t understand.”

Jamie nodded. She clearly understood the fear of the unknown. She herself had scared herself, unsure of what she'd done. Though nobody appeared to be as frightened than the kid she had lunged a dozen feet through the air with the simple push of her hands. He'd quite literally lost control of his bladder in fear of her. That had given her some measure of redemption, despite the massive bruises that had immediately plagued her face and eyes.

"Suppose it's no different for most of the galaxy. The Force is such an oddity. Most people have heard about it, but so many have no idea what it really is, and when they witness it first hand it is terrifying."

The lift slowed again, doors opening. As they did so Jamie squeaked a bit, having recognized the level and tugging Kaile abruptly out with her. "Here! This is where my ship is." She looked left and right as the doors closed behind her. Her hand ran through her hair as she tossed her head left and right. "Now....Just have to find the actual landing pads."

A laugh would brighten the somberness of the moment, Jamie’s hand taking Kaile from the turbolift in a tug. The agent came to a stop alongside the younger woman, her large brown eyes taking in the scenery. There were open air docking pads as well as a few that were within the station proper.

“Okay... “ Kaile’s shoulders straightened. This was good. At least they were on the right level now. Biting her lower lip, the Lorrdian began to think. Her eyes went wide in remembrance. Turning to the younger blonde, she asked Jamie to confirm. ‘Four landing pads right?”

“That’s where you remember docking your Skiff?” Her wrist came up, again, finger tapping to bring the holographic screen into active mode.

“I can download the local map of the level. We can narrow down where to go by only searching the docking bays that have four pads.” that way, they wouldn’t take the entire day scouring throughout this level by itself.

"Mhm! That much I do remember" She'd say, eagerly watching Kaile work that little gizmo's magic again. That would certainly save them hours of wandering around like a couple of lost cattle. "When I arrived it was the smallest of the ships docked, on the far end, so it might be a little hard to spot if the other ships are still here."

Jamie watched as the map loaded and popped up in a holographic image, indicating the areas they would need to search. Luckily they were all relatively close to one another, and there were only three that had four landing pads on them on this level.

"At least it doesn't look like we'll be stuck here skulking around in the dark looking for this thing. I'm so sorry again!"

She was eager to be off Bespin, and felt bad for make Kaile wander around with her looking for something she shouldn't have very well lost in the first place. It was one thing to lose a datapad, or keys, or a comlink, but losing your ship was pretty ditzy.

The corners of her mouth lifted, apples of her cheeks blooming as a dimple flashed. A hand would gesture for her to forget it. "Don't worry about it, Jamie. Really, really."

Chocolate brown eyes would warmly reassure the younger woman. It was kinda amusing really. In the few hours they've known each other, they both ended up apologizing excessively for what came to be. "Best thing to do is to use a tracker of some sort. Do you have a wrist datapad or something?"

She had a smaller extra one. One that she picked up a while back. It was of Asterus design. She normally now utilized the Browncoat datalogger, but maybe it would work better for Jamie to have the other?

"Having one makes things easier to keep track --" a sheepish twist of her lips would then add, "And to play Drunken Mynocks." glancing down, she made note of the first of the three docking areas.

"Okay, the first one isn't too far. The other two are a walk aways. We can probably find a sky lane of some sort to use to go faster." They were skybridges that would allow users to simply stand while it would escalate along. With a small cant of her head, Kaile beckoned the woman to follow.

"So tell me more about your master. What does she do?"

The younger girl shook her head no to Kaile's question.

"I left most of my things behind on Naboo. All I really have is clothes, my large datapad, and that's kind of it really."

Even back home there wasn't much she had of her own. A few pieces of jewelry, namely a bright green and orange bracelet, a couple of rings, a necklace, and a few earrings.

"I'm not much of a materialistic person I guess. My favorite things were the landscape back home, and the Gungan cities."

Jamie's eyes focused on the map, and she would nod in agreement with Kaile's plan. "Okay, that sounds good." A 33% chance that they would find her ship right away was a lot better than a complete in the dark gamble of which floor the ship was on, so that was at least a start.

"My master?" Repeating Kaile's question as the two walked. "She's a sort of wanderer I guess you could say. She helps out the Republic, but she's not affiliated with the Order in any way. At least, not anymore." Her hands slowly waived back and forth in front of her chest as she spoke. "She was, but that was some time ago. It didn't seem to suit her she said. But she's really quite kind, treats me as a sort of younger sibling. She's a hard teacher, puts me through the rounds, pushes me hard, but I wouldn't have it any other way."

Okay, so that confirmed one decision for later on once they were on Jamie’s ship. The murmur of local Bespin travelers and workers would fill the air. Things were a bit more posh here, and one would be able to notice the finer attire the inhabitants of this level wore.

Weaving their way through, Kaile would follow the signs, gesturing and guiding Jamie towards the first docking area.

“So she used to be part of the Jedi Order?” That was curious, but not unusual. In her time, she had bore witness to several schisms within the Order. Now there were so many and a few of the former Jedi doing their own thing. That’s how the Pyre received some of their own Rogue Jedi employees.

“Does she teach you to follow a code?” That was the curious bit. What did her master actually teach her? Was it general Force powers? Was there a philosophy?

They ambled along, a pair of Bith kids running up ahead of them, giggling as their mother would cry out to behave themselves.

"A code? No." A quick twist of her shoulder avoided accidentally bumping into one of the locals as they wandered past rather close to Jamie. "She doesn't follow or preach a code of any kind really." The girl wasn't all that interested in following some type of dogma that dictated what one could or couldn't do, should or shouldn't do. The political world followed those same types of frameworks. It simply wasn't for her.

"Before she took me on she asked me a lot about what I wanted and why. I told her that I wanted to learn to control this power, to use it to help people in ways similar to my parents, but in a different way. They help with reconstruction and funding and the political sort of stuff. I wanted to be a shield to help prevent the need for such aide."

She offered Kaile a warm, determined smile. "She offered to help make that happen. She's asked for nothing in return, and has treated me like family ever since."

Rounding a few corners they arrived at the platform. Low and behold, just at the edge her ship sat awaiting her return. "There!" She pointed, grabbing Kaile by the hand to pull her along faster.

“Ohh -whoa!” Kaile again, found herself absconded with. In the end, she was laughing alongside Jamie, running alongside her as they wove and darted between passengers. A few close calls of bumping came their way, and Kaile gave a small smile and “Sorry!” as an apology.

By the time they made it to the skiff, Kaile was laughing openly, gathering more than a few odd looks. The Lorrdian didn’t care however. Instead, she looped her arm around Jamie’s shoulder, scrunching her face into a silly grin and a wink.

“Well, my lady!” with a dramatic sweep of her arm, adopting Jamie’s noblewoman accent, she bounced on her feet and said with flair, “I give thee your vessel.”

She couldn’t hold it in much after that, because the Lorrdian began laughing anew.

"Come on," she gave a wag of her brows," give me and Bobo the one credit tour."

Did Kaile just turn upper-class on me? Jamie looked at the strawberry blonde, holding back the laughter at how ridiculous the girl sounded.

"Do I really sound like that?!" She questioned with a bit of humored fear. She had never really listened to the way she talked, her accent, or mannerisms. She really wasn't sure if the way Kaile was speaking is what she sounded like to other people.

Not that it would be all that surprising to her, she did after-all grow up entirely surrounded by such speech and company. Jamie had always done her best to sound like a normal person, if for nothing else than to save herself from the nagging of other kids in her classes for being the rich snobby girl.

Wandering toward the terminal she leaned over the pad, entering the code on the small screen that would lower the ramp. Metal creaked and squealed as the entryway opened, and with an extension of her hand, gestured for Kaile and Bobo to hop aboard while pretending to be some kind of conductor or captain of the crew. "Last call, passenger vessel to Sullust. All Aboard!"
