Sia's Song | The Wedding of Zak Dymo & Sia Ike

Jericho wore a ceremonial outfit traditional with lorrdian look with a hint of his own armored style, after all the warrior couldn't be without something armored on his being, the outfit was green with a hint of gold and silver showing his formality and of course the warrior wore his mask despite the entire of his being healed of all of his scars. He never enjoyed events like these, he was much more comfortable in the sparring rings and battlefield, it was apart of him. But being this day, the day of his daughters wedding, he of course had to come. The boy never asked for her hand nor did she really ask for his consent on the matter but he wasn't really a huge part of her life. Rather his young daughter just asked him in private to give her away but not tear her husband-to-be apart. The warrior sighed at the thought but that was the impression he gave out to most, at least, she wanted him to give her away. He attempt not to be a large part of his children's lives for a reason, he was a good warrior and he of course cared but he knew was not a good father, his eldest children was proof of that. He was a man that did everything for the order and his children in the only way he knew, work and fighting, and he could only hope the positive environment that the order had would keep the children that remained to grow to responsible adults and he being an absentee father, he had to accept her choice. Even if it was the rumored raving and pranking lunatic, Zak Dymo, hopefully time had calmed him some. He entered the hall where everyone was doing their little meet and greet, keeping his presence low. He walked over to Katagiri, one of the women that was able to get to his heart and placed his head lightly onto hers showing his affection, a rare deed before walked to the back and taking his seat.

Today was the day for his little girl, he was merely here to watch and to ensure a smile on her face and waiting for the call to give her away..

She saw him and there were the others around here when the big man appeared finally adding to it all and she walked over to see him before she spoke holdng her hands together. he might not be the most engaging and friendly there but there was a good chance that if anyone tried to ruin the day they would get thrown into the sky or they would work on stunning him. "Welcome big daddy." She said it with a small tight lipped smile on her face letting the others that were around all of them. "They all look so.... Young." She was fairly certain all of them were the eldest here compared but thank goodness for the force energies that let them handle the problems.

Sorel Crieff

Ready are you? What know you of ready?
Sorel exchanged glances and smiles with those she recognised and offered polite bows to those she did not. She was dressed as she was for any occasion - in her Jedi robes. Fighting rancors, attending grand balls, visiting dignitaries, exploring mines and now attending weddings. Her robes were her equivalent of a little black dress.

They were clean on, that much she did make sure, but otherwise she was no different to she would be any other day of the week. But then this was not her day - not by a long way. She was here to bear witness and that she'd gladly do. Jedi had too few occasions to be joyous and so she was going to enjoy the event. Enjoy for sure.

But not dance.

Or drink.

Or sing.

“Of course, sweetheart.” Joza grinned and set down her bag, quickly retrieving a few brushes, a powder compact and some lipstick before going over to [member="Sia Ike"]. She placed two fingers gently under the bride’s chin, gently dabbing at some of the shine on her face and blending the base in smoothly with her skin tone. Sia was naturally very pretty, but every girl could use a touch of powder and cream on her wedding day.

“How are you feeling, hun? Anxious at all?” Joza went to work applying the lipstick with a lip brush, choosing a nice rosy shade that would complement her coloration well.

“There, all finished!” She announced cheerily before turning towards [member="Kianna Auli’i"]. “You want anything love? Lipstick? Blush? The ceremony should be starting soon, I think."

"Very anxious." SHe would say looking in the mirror smiling at the woman. She would take a deep breath ready to open a new chapter in her life. She would look at her bridesmaids "You look beautiful both of you"

Not only was Zak taller than her now, she had been introduced to the Heavenshield's child.

"Lord Heavenshield, a pleasure to meet you at last." Nefertari meant it, though it could come off as a basic pleasntry.
She returned the gesture to her fellow Jedi before turning back to Zak

"Zak, You look quite handsome. Be sure to be good to the girl."
Nef didn't really know Sia, or any of the Ike family that well. She hoped she was prepared for the nautolan. Not many people knew this for sure, but Zak was the reason Nef started packing a double-stocked first aid kit on missions. She wondered what sort of mischief her padawan got into these days, or if he'd by some miracle completely mellowed out. In any case, Nef was here for Zak; to her, he was family.

It seemed the ceremony would start soon.

The likelihood of Zak mellowing out were zip, zilch, and none.

"Zak, You look quite handsome. Be sure to be good to the girl."

While Théo went to speak with Valae, the Nautolan put one arm around shoulders of the Chandrila noble and pulled her in for a brief, one-arm hug. "I dunno. I was never very good at good, Master," the young Knight boasted, with a broad grin plastered across his face.

It was good to see Master Neffy again. It made this feel like old times. Young times. Different times, when they'd both been proud to serve the Republic.

Music was starting to play, which was probably a hint.

They'd practiced this. They really had. Except Zak kind of sucked at paying attention to these sorts of things. But, even still, he was thinking that the music was a cue of some kind. So he went to take his place at the front of the procession, where he could await his favorite girl.

...the one who was pretty even in the middle of a food fight, with mashed potatoes running down the side of her face.

Which had also been how they'd they'd met... ten years ago.

Kianna gave a warm smile to Sia hearing her compliment to both her and [member="Joza Perl"]. Kianna honestly couldn't wait for when they walked down the aisle. Weddings were an amazing thing to attend and attending a best friend's wedding, made the experience even better.

"Thank you Sia."

she responded to the compliment with the small smile still spread across her face. Kianna focused on a certain sound though as she heard the faint sound of music.

First, Myra gave a few blinks.

Then her eyes grew as wide as saucers.

Finally, they narrowed into thin, hard slits of slate.

Confusion, surprise, and then anger. All of these emotions went shifting throughout her skinny little body with the quickness of a lightening strike. There Makai Dashiell was kneeling at her feet, a smirk gracing his pale blue lips and oceanic blue eye sparkling with mirth. However, that mirth was not reflecting back at him from Myra. Oh no, instead it was 100% aggravated teenage girl who was about to surprise the half Galan with her unexpected reaction.

Or maybe, expected if the Dashiell was a masochist to have the audacity to play such a trick.

It didn't matter if Myra held no true blood relation to the Queen of Trade. Being raised by her and Alric Kuhn gave her plenty of reason to be just as much of a spitfire; and Makai found that out quick. Her fingers curled tight, thumb overlapping and it went swinging back only to punch forward with all the force her tiny little body to give -- and it gave alot. The strike would aim to hit Makai along his right shoulder, and would equally hurt the girl with the force she put into it.

Indignation colored her cheeks a bright pink; she had no need for the scarf to keep her warm at all.

"Makai Dashiell, you're a gorram bloody fool!" Myra would cry out, not caring who would hear or see. Had no care in the 'verse as her eyes stung and she glowered at his audacity to play a mean trick.

The punch hit him like a million jellyfish stings. He never under estimated that [member="Myra Elspeth"] could defend herself. In fact, she could be downright dangerous, especially with the numerous hours of training and instruction she had undergone. Mix that with a little Outer Rim grit and it was asking for trouble.

Shoulder stinging like no tomorrow, Makai silently stood up. Mints made it into the pocket of his slacks, the free hand now coming to rub his shoulder through his suit jacket. More so than his shoulder, Ellie's words had stung him deep and hurt more than any physical blow.

Iced azure eyes looked for answers. Thoroughly confused, Makai wasn't sure what to do or even say. Part of him felt like saying something would make it worse, because the teenage half-Galan was certain nothing was going to come out right. Even his joke got all jumbled into the mix.

Wait, did Ellie expect a ring? Was she crazy? He was only fifteen and she was younger than him! It wouldn't matter to even ask if she did expect one, he'd probably just get punched again, and this time not in the shoulder. Eyes diverted from hers before turning his back on Ellie and silently finding his way up the stone path.

It didn't take long to reach the platform and find a seat in the back on the grooms side. [member="Zak Dymo"] was standing up at the front, patiently waiting. His now "good" arm gave his aquatic brah a thumbs up from his spot in the back row. Shivering in his chair, Makai crossed his arms across his chest and tried to focus on the ceremony that was about to begin.

As more of the guest arrived and those that would be family, Theo noticed Master Jericho toward the back with a woman he had never seen before. There would be time enough later to approach and talk at the reception. But for now the music began signally the start of the ceremony. "Valae we had better take a seat. Please join me?". But before he would do so, Theo approached Zak once more.

"Now, just enjoy yourself and take in the moment", he said as his hands raised to fuss over his collar. Then brushed off the imagined dust on Zak's shoulders before pulling on his cuffs and messing with the hem of the jacket. All done with a broad smile and to annoy his friend as there was little need for his attention. "You have the ring right?".

With all that, Theo found Valae and Lady Sovint once more. "My Lady Sovint, would you care to join us and take a seat?".

Joza’s smile softened as she pulled away from Sia. “Thank you, love. And it’s normal to be nervous. I bet Zak is just as anxious as well, and his heart might stop when he sees you walking down that aisle!” She winked and squeezed the girl’s shoulder.

The faint sound of music began to drift towards the room, and Joza’s head tilted towards the door. “If we’re all ready, ladies, I think it’s time for the ceremony to begin.”

Once the girls were squared away, they exited towards the outdoor venue. The mountains of Voss-ka certainly made for a gorgeous setting, and it wasn’t long before the guest’s idle chatter died down as they settled into their seats. The flower girls went first, walking slowly down the aisle and tossing petals from their basket as they went.

After the flower girls reached the end of the walk and found their own seats, Joza slowly moved down the aisle as well. She recognized quite a few people in attendance—Sorel, Valae, and the young Heavenshield kid—but there were several that she didn’t know. Oh, and was that…Jericho sitting in the back? She’d have to compliment him on cleaning up well later.

As she neared the end of the aisle, her eyes tracked to the groom and she smiled. He looked so grown-up now…where had that hyperactive little Nautolan gone? In his place stood a proud Knight, an accomplished medic who was soon to be wed to a lovely girl. She winked at Zak before standing off to the side, waiting for the other bridesmaid to come down the aisle leading up to the main event—the entrance of the bride!

"My Lady Sovint, would you care to join us and take a seat?". Theo said to her
"Certainly, your lordship."

Nef Took a seat with her fellow jedi on the groom's side
This was really happening. Zak was getting married. Nefertari had promised herself that she wouldn't cry...hopefully she could make good on that.

Kianna almost jumped for joy when the music started. As [member="Joza Perl"] lined up, Kianna would turn to Sia real quick and give her a warm smile and a quick hug. She was so happy to be a Maid of Honor for her.

"Good luck Sia. Remember, just breathe. The nerves will definitely settle. This day is you and Zak. Pretend that it's just you and him on the stage."

she said soothingly. She knew Sia could do it. She then lined up behind Joza and after the flower girls and Joza went, Kianna would straighten up and start walking down the aisle. She saw Zak and gave him a warm smile as well along with a slight nod of her head in respect. She then walked over and stood next to Joza giving her an excited smile. The music then switched over for Sia's entrance.

Waiting for Sia, Kianna looked through the crowd seeing if there was anyone she'd recognize. She barely recognized anyone except for maybe a few that she'd talk to at the reception.

Valae turned slightly watched the flow of wedding guests; it seemed that the bride and groom had a lovely group of friends to share their special day with. It was heartwarming to say the least. She blinked as the music began to play, and she nodded in agreement to Theo. “Yes, that would be lovely.” Valae grinned, and began to move towards the rows of chairs.

Now seated with the young Knight and Lady Sovint, Valae took a moment to smooth out the skirt of her dress. Her hands folded in her lap, and she turned slightly to get a better view of the aisle, where the wedding party would be making their entrance. A soft smile found her face at the sight of the flower girls, they were absolutely adorable. Her smile only grew at seeing [member="Joza Perl"] walking down next, and Valae offered her a nod. They would certainly need to catch up at the reception.

And then, her brown eyes grew wide in anticipation of the bride’s entrance.

As the music switched Sia would make her way to @Jericho. She would take his arm and smile. As they entered and began to walk down the aisle she would look ahead and see Zak. She was then transported to another time. 10 years before, she was in the cafeteria at her old school. The day of the first kiss, she had mashed potatoes in her hair. As the Food was flying she jumped up and kissed him. That was the best day of her life. Though the Potatoes did not come out very easily. Back to present day, she saw him and her heart was in her throat. He was breathtaking, she would be growing near to him. A million thoughts would be rushing through her head, would they have children? Where would they live? What would their lives be like? And so many more that she would not have the answer to. She would reach the end and take her place at the alter opposite of Zak. She would be smiling the brightest single dimpled smile the galaxy had ever seen.

Nyt Rito

The (New) Padawan Menace!
Quietly standing his post, which was eerily uncommon for the young Padawan, Nyt made every effort to keep his fidgeting to a minimum. The suit he wore was not overly dissimilar from Zak's. After all, the ring bearer had to fit with the theme. The young Nautolan looked up to the older, amazed at the enraptured expression his Master wore.

But.... girls are gross.... he thought to himself in disgust. But, this was Big Brah's big day. And Big Brah asked Nyt himself to be a part of it. The young mischief-maker puffed his chest out slightly with pride, standing there next to Zak, head-tails pulled together in a similar fashion to the older Nautolan. He truly was Zak's spiritual successor, similar in so many ways.... if only the audience knew....

He kept his marveling to a minimum as the great imposing breast of a man who was the Father of the Bride came close. Hopefully the man did not make the connection of the eels to the youth....

Or, if he did, he'd hopefully at least give the Padawan a two sector headstart....

Rings clutched in hands, he waited for his cue....

What had Makai done?

...there was no telling.

When this was over, Zak could take a look at that jaw. Or the shoulder. What fish-boy needed was a check-up from the neck up, but unfortunately Zak was no psychiatrist. More's the pity, that, or else he could be his own best patient.

Some cultures said a wedding was unlucky without at least one death. All things being equal, Zak would settle for one punch to the face. And hope that was where things would stay.

Théo was playing the diplomat, making certain that Valae was included whilst ensuring that Master Neffy wasn't left to fend for herself in the social gladiatorial arena.

The note changed as Jericho appeared, leading the lovely and radiant form of the bride down the aisle. A minister waited there, poised to govern the proceedings once everyone was in there. Place. As the guests were seated, the minister looked around for a moment and then said, "Mawage."

The single word, in a thick accent, hung in the air for a moment. "Mawage is what brings us here, today," the man intoned ceremoniously. "Love. True love..."

As the homily droned on, it was as though the minister were talking in one incredibly long unbroken sentence, jumping from topic to topic. It was really quite hypnotic.

Leaning slightly to the left, the Nautolan moved closer to Sia as he whispered in a voice just loud enough for her to hear, "You are beautiful."

Not that she looked beautiful. She did, but it was so much more than that. There was so much more than that to her.

She was human.

He was Nautolan.

Their physical appearances had so little in common. She was beautiful to him not for what she was, or how she appeared... but because of who she was.

Marrying her would be an awfully big adventure.

Sia would hear his comment and her smile would grow even bigger than it was before. She would maintain her composure, there was a honeymoon for a reason. She would listen to the priest and try not to laugh. She would wait for the moment when he would say the words 'you may kiss the bride.' the moment she had dreamed of her whole life and it was so close she could almost taste it. She didn't mind that her soon to be husband was a Nautolan, she had fallen for him based on his comical personality and his spirit. She loved him

Well, things didn't quite work the way both wanted. All the more so when Myra caught the rather wounded expression in Makai's ice blue eyes. It made it all the worse when he simply stared at her in befuddlement, only to turn and walk away.

There Myra stood in the snow, the snow crunching as she watched him leave, her eyes stinging somethin' fierce as she had an equally wounded expression on her face. Her lower lip quivered, those stinging eyes darting down to the ground where a few of the mints had spilled like pale blue shells onto the ground.

Her tiny hands curled into tight fists in her bright red gloves. He didn't get it. He never did. Everything seemed to go over his head. How could he even joke like that?! And why did he have the audacity to look as if she was the one at fault here?!

Jutting out her lower lip, Myra spun on her heel. Guilt, anger, shame, and a few bucketfuls of hurt went humming up and down the girl's spine.

It wasn't about the ring. It wasn't even about wanting him to ask. She stuck by the fact that by far, they were too young. It was the fact that he could joke about something that was supposed to be serious. Something you only did when you meant it.

Not as a joke.

Marriage was not a joke. Not for the girl with the large gray eyes who had secretly desired such a thing with the boy with a brown mop of hair and the ocean in his eyes.
