Sia's Song | The Wedding of Zak Dymo & Sia Ike

Nyt Rito

The (New) Padawan Menace!
The young padawan waited, nervously, anxiously, and horribly stiff in that suit. He wanted so bad to, to fidget, but would have to be content with the involuntary tapping of one of his head-tails in that 'bundle'. Only the keenest eyes would see the movement, but.... all eyes should be in the bride and groom, so likely this went unnoticed.

Eventually the call came, asking for the rings. Awkwardly, the young Nautolan marched front and center, and after only a momentary confusion, he managed to get the right ring into the hands of the right person. After the fact, it made more sense to the youngling why he had to give the bigger ring to the woman, and the smaller to the man. They put the rings on each other! he surmised, just as the two would exchange their vows and rings.

In preempt of the heinous act that would eventually conclude the ceremony, when he heard that horrible 'K' word, small hands were clapped over eyes. No way he'd ever kiss a gross girl!!! Ewww!

He had joined the ladies Kitra and Sovint in the front row. Damned if he was going to miss a moment of his friend getting married, he still could not believe Zak had succumbed to the bit of love but when he turned to see the wedding party make their way down the corridor of chairs, he understood why.

Firstly, the bridesmaidens came forth, he did not know one of them, but Miss (or was it Mrs) [member="Joza Perl"] looked amazing in her dress. The bride soon followed, and she looked radiant and more importantly, happy. This made Théo smile, as he looked back at Zak waiting patiently for her.

Having grown up in a family what does not hide their feelings for one another, his display of emotions came to his face, Théo was happy for his friend, for them both. "This is a good day", he whispered to both the ladies by his side.

Vows were taken.

Their rings were exchanged, and suddenly they had reached the end of the ceremony. An end, and a beginning.

Reaching up a hand, the Nautolan carefully touched the chin of the young woman. She was warm to the touch, his fingers moving down along her jaw as he tilted her head back just slightly. Taking a step forward, the green knight brought his other arm around behind her, touching at the small of her back. Then, leaning in, he turned his head to the right as he planted his lips against hers.

This was possibly the first time it had been him kissing her, and not the other way around!

...he probably shouldn't get used to this.

Shivering in his chair, Makai kept his focus on the wedding in front of him. He didn't want to miss a minute of seeing his friend getting hitched. What if Zak did something clumsy like tripping and falling? What kind of friend would be be if such an event happened and Zak wasn't reminded at all of life's important events? Fortunately for Zak and Sia, their nuptials were going off without a hitch.

The ceremony was just as beautiful as the surroundings, well, besides the smirk he had to hide at the ministers thick accent. Somehow he was certain Zak had snuck that little bit in on purpose.

As the actual wedding ceremony was drawing to a close, Makai was slowly realizing he would have to go and find [member="Myra Elspeth"] .They had arrived together in the same ship, borrowing Sirena from his Dad. It was possible Ellie decided to up and take off without him. Not quite stranded but at the same time he didn't feel like trying to explain a missing ship.

Scale-speckled hand briefly touched the borrowed scarf before dropping back into his pocket. He'd have to figure out something to say. Something that didn't result in getting punched again anyways.

As the rings were exchanged and Zak slid his hand under her chin and the rings were exchanged Sia would be in Ecstasy, she had always been the one to kiss him not the other way around and it felt so good for him to take initiative and kiss her. She would smile brightly as he pulled away, she would hold him close. Then she would let go of him and instead just take his hand. She was looking forward to the reception

And the groom kissed the bride!

Théo grinned before standing up to give the newly weds a round of applause. "Bravo!", he shouted to them both as they both looked happy. No doubt they would want to make their way off the platform and spend some time together before the reception begins. He would speak to Zak and his new wife soon, but for now he turned his attention to the two ladies in his company, offering them a hand each to take to stand.

The reception room was awaiting them all.

Beautifully appointed, and a soft atmosphere filtered through the room, it was picture perfect and comfortable for everyone to be able to enjoy themselves. As for the music?! He hoped Zak had at least sorted that out. Makai would be happy enter the place, as the fire was lit filling the room with a comfortable heat, respite from the cold. Five large carts positioned around the room are laden with barrels of mead all the way from Midvinter. That had been Théo's gift to the happy couple on their special day. Tables are position next to the carts, heavy with wooden tankards in which the guest can take their fill from the tap. The main drop of the wondrous brew is the Valkyri Blod Mead, 'borrowed' from the Grand Hall. There are more sweeter mead for the ladies, honey and cherry, if that was more to their taste. However, not everyone likes the drops, so other drinks are provided for those that do not fancy to try it.

"Shall we go and find our seats for the reception?", he asked Ladies Kitra and Sovint.

Standing with the rest of the guests to applaud the new couple as they exited the platform to have a few moments alone. No doubt there would be a long line to speak to the couple at the reception once they arrived. It would give him enough time to find [member="Myra Elspeth"] before heading back to the reception hall for a night full of revelry. Waiting until the happy couple left, Makai exited quietly while others headed towards the reception.

Feet found the stone path once again, headed down to the stone landing field at the base of the mountain.

A bit of a harrowing trip down the slippery stones, Makai was happy to be on level ground headed towards the ocean-blue Sirena. Hands were still in his pockets in a futile attempt to stay warm.

"Ellie? Ellie?! C'mon now....Its not fun to run off in strange, snowy woods..."

Katagiri had been watching and seeing all of it when she looked at Zak providing a few ideas for herself. She wanted to see what they would be able to do before the others were heading off. She looked at many more of the things here until she walked to follow. Taking in small steps to present and let Sia have her day with Zak before well the whole jedi married thing would come and have to work on them not getting all attached to each other and risking others if one or the other was in a duel. A tricky situation when she looked and saw Jericho as well as the others around them taking a seat so that she would be able to relax and see the reception. "Well that is one of your children @Jericho."

Valae smiled softly, watching the touching scene unfold at the altar. Before long, the vows had been spoken by the bride and groom and rings were the next to be exchanged. As she watched the two shared a kiss, she even found her chestnut eyes growing a bit misty. She fanned her face with open palms, trying to keep her eyes dry and her mascara from smudging. Now she was beginning to understand the need for waterproof makeup.

She stood with the rest of the guests and joined in the joyous applause for the new married couple.

Valae was glad to move into the reception space, the warmth of their new surroundings instantly lifted the chill from her skin. The decorations were lovely; it seemed the perfect place to celebrate. Her eyes found the barrels of mead, and she blinked a few times. Goodness, that is a lot of mead – certainly enough to ensure that the guests remained in happy spirits.

“Yeah, that sounds like a plan.” Valae smiled to Theo, “I’m sure I’ll be seated at the single’s table.”

She laughed to ensure that her companions knew that she was making light of her current relationship status. And she turned her eyes to the little name cards displayed above each place setting.

Jericho gave Katagiri another nod when she spoke to him but it was not to much long after he stood and took the arm of his daughter @Sia Ike, to think she was already getting married. After the formality of giving his daughter away was made, Jericho took his leave from the stand to watch as his daughter and her husband kissed the binding oath....Til death do them part. The warrior clapped his hands soundly, of course happy for his daughter, but made his way out to the reception area first. This was not his type of event and solely came for his daughter, after all, that was an obligation of a father right? He pondered on the day the Jedi were not allowed to make those connections, they were distractions but then again....The warrior thought of his daughter smile when she kissed him, the warmth that circled from her. She was happy. One of his little girls was happy and for this instance, that all that mattered. The warrior sat quietly, next to him was a pot of hot herbal tea doing what he did best, observing before [member="Katagiri Ike"] made her appearance next to him. The warrior gave her a nod. "As she is yours." The warrior said calmly.

Zak and Sia's first moment as a married couple was probably one of the most beautiful sights Nef had ever seen...and one of the most surprising. Zak had actually kissed a girl. She joined with the rest in the applause, fighting back tears of joy. Still, moving right along, she nodded and followed Lord Heavenshield and Lady Kitra to find their seats for the reception. The barrels of mead were easily noticable, and Nef was glad to see other options soon after as pretty much any alcohol tasted very medicinal to her.

Examining the name cards, Nefertari looked for her place. She would speak with the happy couple and other guests soon enough.

He knew he could trust Théo with bringing the booze.

Everything he needed to know about weddings, he learned from the Silver Jedi. And those lessons were this: In any major event, you wanted an Atrisian in the planning, a Zeltron as the hostess, but a Valkyri working the bar.

Holding his wife by the hand, the Nautolan knight led the Lady Dymo from the aisle to where Théo had set up a fierce reception for them. The warmth of the fire, the soft light of the candles, and the welcome presence of the mead barrels. "I'm not certain, but I think we might have some awesome friends," Zak opined aloud, turning to flash a grin over at Sia.

Well wasn't he the lucky one! Theo led the two ladies from the ceremony area to the reception. The warmth of the room pickled on his face having come in from the cold, and naturally for him, he would have preferred to have remained out doors to relish the snow. But all that will come in time for now everyone could relax and enjoy each other's company. He looked forward to speaking more with Valae and Nerertari, the former he wanted to know what she had been dong all these years since they last met, and the latter well, she is a master Jedi and one he had heard a great deal about from Zak.

The room was alread a buzz with guests milling about in conversation and acquiring a drink or ten. However, he turned to Valae and laughed a little, "The singles table, how delightful". And no doubt she was right, after all the people that do the placements tend to do this. "It is good for us you know, it is where the in crowd gathers". Or the sad souls, but lets not mention that.

The ladies found their places as did he and soon the in crowd were seated to await the meal. Soft music played in the background to set the mood of the evening meal, and nicely done so to not drown out conversation. He looked around the room so beautifully appointed, and saw at the end a stage on which a band had set up. Wonder who will be providing the nights entertainment?

After [member="Sia Ike-Dymo"] and [member="Zak Dymo"] exchanged their vows, everyone got up and clapped. Kianna clapped too with a smile upon her face as Sia and Zak exchanged a kiss. They both looked so happy together.

Everyone then went to the reception area. Kianna was unsure if there was an introduction line, so she followed the crowd until someone told her so or until someone wanted to talk to her.

Makai Dashiell said:
"Ellie? Ellie?! C'mon now....Its not fun to run off in strange, snowy woods..."
Myra was well used to being quiet. She had years of practice to do so. The bulk of her childhood had been the life of a mute. Most saw her back then and treated her differently; be it because of her adopted parents or because of the uncomfortable fact of her trauma, the fits, and her inability to speak.

Makai never did any of that. In fact, their first meeting he'd been a bundle of energy with what seemed to be an endless stream of things to say. At the time, more than half didn't make sense to Myra, but what did had been the fact that Makai had done his best to make her feel welcomed. To make her feel as if she wasn't alone.

A heavy sigh fell from her slightly blue tinted lips. The cold was starting to get to her too. She'd found a small bench for her to sit under a large knobbly oak tree. It overlooked a small quiet pond, reminding her a little bit of the farm -- well if it actually snowed there.

Part of her didn't want to reply back. Another said she was being childish. Usually, what happened to a preteen when their emotions were all a mess.

Makai lumbered up the ramp of the Sirena in search of [member="Myra Elspeth"] .Warmth greeted him and he was thankful for each ounce of heat that started to seep into his pores. Hands rubbed together as he walked down the corridors in search of Ellie. It seemed quiet but that could be deceiving. Ellie was used to being quiet, it was a little scary at times, especially when she crept behind him.

"Ellie? You in here? Don't get all quiet on me, I just wanna know if you made it back alive."

Nothing.

626db1823ae799d943947a9a80957582.jpg
Turning the corner, Makai found himself in the galley. No Ellie. He had checked her cabin. His cabin. Cockpit, lounge, cargo hold. Every space except for the tiny nooks and crannies she could crawl into. Makai hoped at this point in their lives she wasn't crawling into the bowels of the ship to get away from him.

Leaving the galley, he stopped by his cabin to get his black nerf-leather jacket in order to brave the cold once more. Warmth left him almost immediately as he stepped back down the ramp, snow starting to fall. It was a beautiful sight, but it wasn't something he would want to experience often.

Feet crunched on the snow again, walking further along the landing field and onto the woods on the other side. A pond loomed ahead, looking as if there were more paths to follow.

"Ellie? Ellie?! You out here?"

[member="Makai Dashiell"]

Another sigh, a poof of condensation billowing from blue lips. There he was again, calling out for her. I should really say something, she mused, but the girl was still a little bit upset. A stab of guilt crept in when another voice said that Makai wasn't made for extreme environments. He couldn't deal with frigid cold worlds like Hoth or the baking hot sands of Tatooine. In the latter he was likely to get super dehydrated very quickly, and frostbite in the latter, becoming more and more sluggish.

Like a fish.

Well, a tropical fish.

Shoulders sinking further she decided to call out. "I'm here." her voice resonated from the pond.

Finally there was a response from [member="Myra Elspeth"] .Part of him had begun to worry she had been stuck in a snowdrift or something. That was possible....right? A bit like a riptide. It probably didn't work that way but he had limited cold weather experience.

The path sloped down the to pond, black and glistening against the snow. Eyes searched for Ellie, taking a moment to find her. She was off to the side, sitting on a rather cold looking bench staring out at the water. He gave a sigh before squaring his shoulders, moving towards his best friend.

Reaching the bench, he took off his outer jacket and placed it around her shoulders before sitting down. Makai continued to look ahead for a moment, staring off at the icy cold water as silence hung around them like a thick blanket. Struggling with something to say, he had to do it soon before they both froze to death.

"....Sorry I joked around. Guess I shouldn't have, huh?"

[member="Makai Dashiell"]

That was putting it lightly. Makai still didn't get some things. Likely wouldn't anytime soon. Mamma said boys took time to come to their senses and find out what they really wanted. Take a look at her pa, she said. That took almost twenty years.

But I don't want to wait twenty years, the little girl thought to herself. Frustration made her pale face and blue lips scrunch up. Tiny hands curled within her red knitted gloves.

"Nope." she said simply, moving to dust off the snow off herself. At her age she wasn't really that tall at all. Really, she had nothing, going for her, at least in her own mind. Time would change that, but Myra was a bit impatient to grow up.

"You're the one freezing his scales off," ice azure met stormy gray. Myra moved her arms to give him his jacket back. He really was the one who would need it the most. Maybe she'd make him one for life day. He typically got macaroni art figurines instead. Maybe he was sick of those.

[member="Myra Elspeth"]

Squared shoulders slumped a little. She was still mad. For reasons he really couldn't place either. In his mind the joke hadn't been completely tasteless. There had been no lewd behavior or remarks. Just a bit of joking around on his part. Didn't seem different than any other day they were together.

There was no movement to get the jacket back, despite shivering like a fool. He felt stupid, trying to find her out in the freezing cold to make sure she was alright just to get brushed off. It was worse when feelings were involved. He could have handled it easier if he viewed her as just a friend.Ellie was more than his best friend. Of course the girl in front of him was far too young to know it. Or perhaps far too young to care.

"No thanks, you can keep it." Makai worked hard to suppress a shiver and seem more casual, more at ease with the cold. "I...I just need to sit here a minute."
